    Carajillo - with Licor 43

Out of all the resturants on Garza Blanca, this one and Bocados are the best ones. I had the shrimp risotto and wife had the shrimp pasta. Kudos to Ivan, Marco, and Fabian for the excellent above and beyond service. They were all genuine with the occasional razzing once they caught my vibe. For context, it was an all-white evening for the pre-wedding festivities later on that night. And we ordered the enchilada and tuna. I picked up one of the enchilada and it slipped and splattered all over my shirt. ALL MY FAULT. Instantly, Fabian took notice and provided some sparkling water with salt and some towels to aid. To further commend the service, Marco and Ivan were very attentive to our drinks and would refill ours almost unnoticeably. Ivan also walks around with a guac table and makes it right before you while explaining how to make it properly. The chips were good but what I really liked were the sauces; chipotle, I forgot the one on the other side, but the middle one was a roasted corn that was deliciously sweet yet savory. There is also this amazing desert called "Chocoflan en Tamal," which is a Mexican dessert that combines a corn husk tamal with a chocolate cake. The tamal is steamed in the corn husk, giving the chocolate cake a moist, spongy texture. It's a creative twist on tamales and incorporates the famous Mexican chocoflan flavor (also known as "impossible cake"). HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The dinner was pretty good but I think the appetizers and deserts are what makes this place. I got the shrimp risotto which was still REALLY good and flavorful. The rice aspect was just enough gravy-like with the shrimp drenched in oil and zesty butter. It was pretty big shrimp too. I didn't think about price since I got the all-inclusive. But please keep in mind when you go to all-inclusive resorts to please tip the staff. I know the resorts are super nice and all but the way life is out here, tips goe further than you may think. Especially if its the US dollar. I was going to end the night with an espresso, and Fabian kindly recommended if I ever had a carajillo. It's basically an iced Irish coffee if you never had one, and I would call it a Mexican coffee. But the difference is that it is made with typically Licor 43, a sweet Spanish liqueur with vanilla and citrus flavors. Highlight recommend to try if you've never tried and since you're already out in Mexico and a nice ahh restaurant. Go all out, playaz. EDIT: ALSO THEY GOT LIVE MUSIC. Like what more could you want with a view, live music, and smackin' food!

This was one of my first meals at the resort in Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful and we got to sit right by the water. Our server was super fun and kept the tequila coming! My only thing is that the food was a bit bland. We tried other restaurants at the resort which were way better which is disappointing. This may have been because we went for dinner and perhaps they specialize in other dishes. Next time I come I would like to try the breakfast. My favorite part of our meal though, was that we wanted dessert and our server brought out every single one! We even got a note for our bridal party!

Five diamond luxury and full on flavor converges here in Puerto Vallarta's Blanca Blue, which greets guests of the Garza Blanca, or White Heron, which fly outside the resort and over the slice of the Pacific that it borders. Food here is impeccably prepared, just like the service. offering a range of breakfast buffet options, all savory creations, hearty, museum worthy lunches and savory, luxurious dinners, all with a view of the unending sea. high quality eats and an incomparable experience!

I stayed at Hotel Mousai, which is on the same property as Garza Blanca and share all-inclusive amenities. Blanca Blue is part of the all-inclusive dining package and it was probably the best restaurant on the property! We ate there the first night and had a great experience. Then had a private dinner on the beach by the chefs here and it was AMAZING!! Highly recommend this experience - the paella and shrimp salad was so so good. Plus, they offered to make a coffee cocktail for us at the end and it was legit a 10 minute show with fire and everything! One of the best dining experiences of my life!!

We stayed at Garza Blanca as all inclusive guests and dined at Blanca Blue for both breakfast and dinner. While this isn't the fanciest of the restaurants it is still more than amazing and great "casual option for a meal. Breakfast was primarily a buffet but included an omelet station, waffle station, and crepe stations that were all made to order. I would probably pass on the premade eggs as they all ended up over cooked under the lights- but that might be my harshest critique of the place. In regards to dinner I have two recommendations: get the shrimp and ask for Mexican coffee. The shrimp was AMAZING!! I will probably dream about that shrimp for a long time. The Mexican coffee comes with a show!! We didn't order it and it is one of my few regrets of my trip. The table next to us did and man was I happy to see the show it came with. We did love dinner here and enjoyed all the food ordered. Overall most of the food was great and the view of the beach is still beautiful

I loved Blanca Blue. Their creative menu was outstanding. I ate here twice. I was blown away with the grilled watermelon salad with feta. The tacos, the grilled octopus... I can't remember everything but I remember everything was good. Staff was friendly and willing to please. I would definitely recommend and go back. The view here is stunning

Blanca Blue is the only "Mexican " restaurant of the gourmet restaurants at Hotel Mousai. Since we were in Mexico, I wanted to have at least one authentic Mexican dinner. They do not offer the traditional dishes offered at Mexican restaurants back home (L.A). That said, the menu did offer delicious plates. For appetizers, we had the Melted cheese fondue, Pimiento de Piquillo frito, Tuna Tiradito, and the guacamole. All were delicious and outstanding. For main dinner courses we had the short rib and coconut shrimp which were fantastic. I did not like the chicken enchiladas plate. They also had great deserts. When originally reserved we asked for a window table since it was our anniversary, but upon arrival were told that it would take over an hour. We stepped out into the patio and took amazing sunset pictures before it started to pour.

Chips and dips before dinner. Each dip was different and fun.

The restaurant has great ambiance and service and good food too! We loved the sunset as we ate out on the deck.

At Puerto Vallarta hotel Mousai resort. Highly recommended 5/5 stars. We will be back soon!

Rubbery octopus - cold too. Terrible!
    Chris L.

Breakfast buffet and service are awesome here but I would not recommend the dinner. Dinner is horrible. Octopus is rubbery and gross and the food is cold. If you have the all-inclusive, just go to Hiroshi or Bocados even if you don't have a reservation (despite what your concierge says). Dinner here is a waste except for the views or during breakfast. This is where they take all the timeshare presentations for breakfast so I could only recommend the breakfast here. The omelet man station is so yummy and hey have both American and Mexican fare. Go to Hiroshi or Bocados instead if you have the all-inclusive! The reservation system is a scam - they don't really adhere to it anyway. They just want to make sure you are not eating more than one meal at Bocados or Hiroshi per night.

Fantastic restaurant located with Garza Blanca Resort. We had incredibly creative Mexican cuisine for dinner - starters through desserts were all very well done. The breakfast buffet is also an great deal ($36USD at the moment) but covered in the all-inclusive package. Want a custom omelet? Fine. Want a continental breakfast instead? No problem. Juicing? Taken care of. Seriously this was a wonderful place to enjoy many meals.

Great food, fine place and excellent bar! Ask Pedro for a great drink! HOWEVER the bar rocks ONLY when Pedro is working! If Pedro is off Friday it's ok but not great!

#112 Thank you señors for such great service while at Blanca Blue. We had just come in from our flight and wanted to relax in our room and get ready to go and eat and so forth. Our room was not ready when we arrived so we traveled to the lounge in the hotel. They offered full service food as well adjacent to the bar, but we were more focused on drinks. Glad we came. The bartender greeted us and gave us a mojito on the house after we shared our travel and check-in experience. Well, I always say there is nothing wrong with a free drink--until it is gone, that is. The bar has amazing views of the ocean and the beach. We watched the sunset as we drank and chopped it up with the bartender. Miguel (I think, I was pretty tired), told us of a few great spots to visit while we are here. I love local tips, they always turn out to be some of the best spots on a vaca. We were alerted that our room was ready so we left a tip and much thanks and promised to return before our departure in a few days. Stephani Smiles for Blanca Blue ;)

They use tanqueray as their house gin which is unusual but a pleasant surprise as it actually happens to be my preferred brand. I didn't have high hopes for the martini - I find that outside of major U.S. cities places end up putting in way too much vermouth - and it actually ended up being fantastic. It didn't taste too different from what I would make at home which is probably the best thing I could say about a martini (for my own personal taste). I tried a fruitier one - the Gigi - as my second and final drink. It was good but I'm just not a fruity drink person. I just wasn't equipped to handle another standard martini lol. The ambiance is phenomenal - it was both casual and comfortable yet classy. The crowd was much older than I expected although not in a bad way at all. There were lots of expats in their 50s and 60s. I was worried it would be a rowdy rooftop and by contrast it was actually a very chill vibe. Only complaint is that the bathroom is outside of the venue down the stairs and you need a key to enter, which was a bit annoying bc I wanted to use the restroom before I left and I forgot to ask for the key on my way out. Small annoyance and certainly wouldn't prevent me from going back.

After looking up good places to go, Bar La Playa came up- and I'm sure glad it did! First, it's easy to get to if you're coming from North. Our Uber was easily able to drop us off without getting stuck in gridlock traffic that can affect certain roads of this area. Additionally, the location isn't a high-traffic area for tourists. That meant we were able to walk up and immediately find seats. Second, the service was top notch. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he was very welcoming, friendly, hospitable and spoke English. Just an overall cool dude and was glad to support his business. Third, the drinks were great. Finally, we were drinking 'real' drinks, not the watered down sugary stuff at the hotel. We were very satisfied with the taste of the drinks. Fourth, the prices are really good. Mexico has gotten expensive and this was a sigh of relief. You can have a great time here without feeling like you paid an arm and a leg. I highly-highly recommend making Bar La Playa your first stop when coming to this area. You're going to get great service, great drinks and all at a price that is reasonable and fair.
