This restaurant is in the Doubletree Hilton. This morning for breakfast I wasn't sure about the place, as service was very slow. We waited about 15 - 20 minutes before we even got coffee, because the waitress said she didn't see us, despite passing us a number of times. When we were ordering breakfast, she said we could use the buffet, which would be quicker. We did, however, the food did not stay hot very long and cost $4.00 more, than eating off the menu. Tonight, however was a different story. We had a fantastic meal which was served really hot and the waitress, Rebecca was so very friendly. There is a limited menu but the food is good. read more

This is the hotel restaurant and it's on the 2nd floor of the hotel. You can take the elevator or stairs right from the lobby. I imagine it gets missed because its not in the lobby but its worth the visit, at least for breakfast. Plenty of seating and tons of tables. There's also a bar right when you walk in. It wasn't open at that hour but probably for dinner. The breakfast was a buffet style and it was pretty good. Eggs were made to order as well as pancakes and french toast. Good selection of pastries, fruit, cereal and yogurt. Definitely a must for breakfast. read more

We had our company holiday lunch here. Food was good. Plenty for multiple parties at a time. Staff was friendly. Normally about $22 per person. I would consider coming again. Beautiful place for a day time date or evening event. read more

The food was good but the service was very slow, not for lake of effort from the staff just not enough staff when it was busy. The corn chowder soup was very good, the Cesar salad had a. Did you know there is a really nice bistro on the second floor of the Hilton? I knew, but never went until last night. It was a pleasant surprise. It occupies quite a large space and the tables are plenty yet still provide some intimacy. It doubles as the breakfast buffet area and other hotel food amenities so the space is warranted. The chairs were comfortable. The music was a bit loud at times and near the end of the meal, I realized the AC was hitting an overly chilly temperature. Neither of those things were problematic, but it hints to the atmosphere. It was also lacking a lot of patrons, so we had an attentive server and food arrived quick. I decided on the portobello mushroom ravioli while my mom chose the fish and chips. We shared a Caesar salad as well. I asked about a strawberry margarita (no blender) and sangria (nope) so I stuck with H2O. The beer and wine list looked pretty extensive, though. I wasn't completely happy with my meal - too many scallions and the extra mushrooms on top were a bit under cooked. The ravioli portion was good. The fish and chips looked amazing! Four little "stick" pieces with a nice batter. The bite I had from my mom's plate made me wish I got that instead. So overall, I liked it. I would go back, but just be more discerning with my meal choice. Even if you don't check into the Hilton, you should check this bistro out. read more

Dropped in for Dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The place was quite deserted. We had a bit of a problem understanding the heavy European accent of the waitress, but nevertheless, she was an obliging and helpful person with a pleasant disposition. We ordered the Calamari and the scallops as appetizers. The scallops were not large by any means, and came as a serving of 3. Seriously overpriced. TIP: do not order the Calamari. Tasteless, limp and quite disgusting. The mains were, the salmon, a wrap, a pork chop and Fish & Chips. Seriously unimpressed, in fact quite disgusted with the fish & chips. The fish was a limp mess. The guy who made this should seriously intern at the closest Archie's, to learn how to prepare a decent piece of batter fried fish. The rest of the dishes were not quite so bad, but nothing to go gaga over. We decided to try the Creme Brulee. The waitress did caution that it was chocolate flavoured. What I didn't expect it to be was, chocolate mousse sprinkled with castor sugar and placed under the broiler or flamed with a brulee torch. What a joke for $8. We were seriously disappointed with this visit. You can get a free parking pass from the reception, to park in the hotel covered lot. read more

Truly elegant yet startlingly affordable, Blake's Bistro in London, Ontario, presented a decadent dining experience that more than earned a five-star rating.  Flaws were absent from start to finish! We were seated quickly and served excellently by an attentive waitress. The atmosphere was classy yet comfortable. I had the salmon entree; a symphony of flavors that put me in a state of disbelief. Cooked perfectly, and topped with a sweet, savory, buttery amalgam, the dish was replete with the most delicious of vegetables on a bed of basmati rice. There were cherry tomatoes in stages of yellow, red and purple, each with a unique, delectable presence. There were carrots of yellow, orange and purple persuasions. The asparagus was mouth-watering and the broccolini magnificent. It was perhaps the best salmon entree I've ever had. We started with the pot stickers appetizer, which far surpassed any reasonable expectation. A delightful, tangy sauce and a soiree of tiny potatoes (with other mystery ingredients) made this appetizer as pleasing as a roaring fire on a frigid winter's night. This six-piece is just enough for two if you're both getting an entree. My dining companion had the BBQ chicken wrap, and described it as delicious with just the right amount of a ranchy sauce and accented with tasty bacon. We did not order dessert, but still our waitress brought 4 small sticks of chocolate filled with a positively divine, creamy mint filling. What a way to end this meal! 10/10, would recommend. read more

I had the opportunity to have lunch and dinner several times here while I was staying at the Hilton for business. It's a nice large restaurant with a bar area in the front and a huge restaurant seating area in the back. Modern but comfortable design. The service is excellent, fast and attentive. Very friendly staff make you feel right at home. The menu is varied and has a lot of options. I tried a number of items and everything was delicious. Very nice presentation as well. The first night I had the sea scallops and grilled salmon with vegetables and ponzu butter. Sea scallops were a bit too cold and wasn't the best for this dish I think. Salmon was delicious. It came out piping hot and the asian vegetables were crispy and fresh. Tried the berry panacotta for dessert. Tasted a little more like a cheesecake. They only have a few options for dessert. The next day I had the salmon Niçoise salad for lunch. It was just the right sear and salad was a good light portion. My friend had the chicken strips and it hit the spot. On another night I had the chicken gyoza and halibut on risotto. Gyoza has a little too much sauce but overall nice interpretation. Halibut was a good portion. Maybe too much risotto. Really liked the pea mint sauce with the halibut and risotto base. The last night I had the sea scallops again and lamb chops with Vidalia onions. Sea scallops were much better this time and beautifully presented. With the seasoned toppings and accompaniments it is really a fantastic dish to try. I'm glad I gave it a second chance. Lamp chops were a good size and done to perfect medium. Didn't get around to trying breakfast here but overall very happy with my dining experiences here. One staff member even remembered my drink choices from the previous night. I really enjoyed my stay here at the hotel as well. read more

Ordered the Conrad burger. Nothing award winning about it. No flavor of pesto, the pattie was burned and tough. Grilling a burger cannot be this complicated. The food also arrived 45 mins later considering the restaurant was empty. Anyway not visiting again. Quite a few wonderful restaurant in London. read more

Instead of leaving the hotel, my co-worker and I decided to try the in house restaurant and it was a great decision. All the food was flavorful and adequately portioned. We had the pot stickers which were cooked perfectly and I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and french fries. The wrap was able to be made at different heat levels and the mild choice was both sweet and a little spicy (but not in an overpowering way). The waitress did a great job keeping our glasses filled and our table cleared. Highly recommended! read more

London, one of my favorite places to visit, and the double tree is again my favorite to stay in. This morning I really wanted to stay in and just use the restaurant in the hotel, called Blake's. Well I went down to get something to take back to the room and maybe catch up on some work, and stood at the wait to be seated podium. All three workers in the restaurant looked at me and walked away. The restaurant is large so you think, Ok maybe lots of people.... You would be wrong, 3 employees to serve 5 people! So finally the bartender yells over ' someone will help you' so I waited politely, then another person comes I explained what I wanted, she handed me menus and left, another few minutes later, again the bartender spots me and takes my order, and a good 10 minutes later the food. At this point the food could be the best in town, but that horrible customer service might be why no one is in the restaurant. So really this review is totally about service at a relatively expensive restaurant, in a better hotel in the area. By the way the food was great, but the taste in my mouth was still bitter, after the negligent service! read more
