Much of the house is great. But we also have no shortage as far as our to-do list goes! Among those was a concrete retaining wall that bordered our neighbor's property that was a little under four feet tall and definitely worse for wear. It had separated from a corner and the whole thing was listing quite hard. It was a source of friction in negotiations in buying the place (no thanks to Beyond Real Estate of Hudson, MA!), and with good reason. Anyway, I stared calling for quotes the day after we moved in. Eddy showed up, gave us a great quote (and even a bit of a discount to start the work right away and fill a slot), and demolition of the old wall began yesterday. The demo job was . . . far more complicated than either I or Eddy had originally thought. The old wall was sunk deep into the ground (probably why it had not fallen over completely yet), and ultimately extraction took a dance of heavy duty saws, a bobcat, and a small excavator that lost its treads at one point. Yet, throughout the process Eddy was a paradigm of kindness and professionalism. He kept the job moving, and even called this evening to apologize for the delay. He is a contractor of great character, craftmanship, and thoughtfulness. It is a so-far-so-good situation, and I am looking forward to the finished product.

Jerry brings top notch service…read more My condo building had some water leaks in the basement, so we needed to waterproof the basement. Originally, I thought patching the inside of the basement would suffice. I found Complete Paving & Masonry on Yelp, and reached out; Jerry responded very quickly and was able to come by to provide a visual inspection and a quote. He recommended that work needs to be done on the outside in order to fix the inside. We took a walk around the outside and he provided points of what work needed to be done. Essentially, he recommended to dig up the dirt around the foundation; patch and seal the foundation; put in some gravel and then cover it up with dirt. This would help prevent water from leaking through the foundation into the basement/garage. After conversing with my fellow condo neighbor, we hired Jerry's team to do the work. Within a week, they were able to come on site and start the work. It took them 4 days to do the work (original quote was 3-5 days). Jerry and his team did a magnificent job. They went above and beyond the original estimate's work at no extra charge to improve the water flow surrounding the condo. They also did some additional patch work on the outside of the condo. When the job was completed, Jerry walked me through everything his team did and why it was done, so I was able to understand the reason for the work. Yesterday the crew was here for the recent job of removing concrete landing step ( which started to fall apart during the winter) and replacing it with a granite step. 5 Stars for Fresh Landscaping & Masonry!!…read more Patio/ Staircase Installation We worked with the owner, Jorge, over the summer to completely transform our backyard. Jorge came many, many times to work with me on my design choices for our patio. I scoped out many different ideas with him, and we discussed a multitude of different pavers/retaining wall blocks. Jorge was always a pleasure to work with. He was friendly, *patient*, and helpful throughout the entire process. We have a very tricky backyard, and the masonry project was split into two phases. First, we had a staircase built into the hill over an existing retaining wall. This involved digging out huge boulders and drilling into ledge. Next, Jorge installed and re-graded a new paver patio area that was 3x the size of the existing patio, including adding a french drain to correctly re-route water from our gutters far away from the house. Again, the expansion was an impressive feat due to ledge/rock in our backyard. Also, I had really wanted a certain paver to be used as a surround trim, and he had his team put in the extra effort to make it happen as the trim pavers were a different height than the patio pavers. THANKS JORGE! Finally, we capped off the existing retaining wall, adding a gorgeous stepping-stone walkway surrounded by river rocks, saved/replanted existing plantings, put in new plantings that I selected, put in new sod, installed new irrigation zones and heads, added a new Wi-Fi irrigation controller, added an outside water shut-off, and included beautiful lighting, Jorge was personally there on-site a large percentage of the time. He focused his various teams on getting the job done so they were there every day/all day until they were done with their portion (digging/drilling/masonry, landscaping, lighting, irrigation). His teams work very hard. They were all polite, friendly, helpful, and reliable. We are so satisfied with Jorge's masonry work that we switched all our landscaping services to Fresh Landscaping as well. Jorge is a true professional. It was a pleasure to work with him.
