I called Jim, he showed up at my house, examined each window and found about 2/3 of them had their seals compromised and blown out and that's why my windows were turning colors yellow and orange. It was terrible! Well, he came in with a price of about 5k and he replaced every screen on the house, sliding door screen included! When the replacement windows came in (each one was ordered to exact size and spec), his installation team came, headed by his son. It was unbelievable watching them work! Like surgeons for windows, I swear! My wife and I could not believe the total difference in just seeing out our windows and nevermind the brand new re-screening of everything. My father had received a quote for replacing a bay window from another company in town that he had hired before. That other company looked to take advantage of that and quoted my father a price of $10,000 to replace it. I got involved and looked for other options and was truly fortunate to find J&D Windows and Doors. First off, the price was a FRACTION of what the first company quoted, but more than that David really took in a genuine interest in discussing all the options with my father so that my father was comfortable knowing he was getting exactly what he wanted. The other company took a more cookie cutter approach and was more interested in seeing dollar signs than customer satisfaction.. Due to Covid, supply was interrupted so the new window couldn't be installed when initially scheduled. That had nothing to do with J&D but David still gave my father a discount due to the inconvenience. Completely unnecessary but most appreciated and just a classy move on his part. All told, the work to take out the old bay and put in the new took little more than a morning with a little finishing to be done the next day. The large crew arrived dressed in company uniforms and brought lots of safety equipment. They did a fantastic job! In one day, they ripped off the old shingles, replaced all the old plywood, and installed a beautiful new roof. They also did a great job cleaning up around the house. They were quick to respond a fix a portion that needed a little more care. They inspected one year later and called several times to make sure there were no issues. Everyone who works there is very friendly and customer service is in their culture.

I had to reach out about 10 days after they did the estimate to check on it and they said oh he's on vacation so I never got an estimate from the first gentleman then they offered to send another estimator out and he gave me a completely different solution to the problem I was having so the one representative said to do one thing and the second representative said to do the opposite thing. A long period went by and then I had to make another call to check on the new estimate. Communication was very disappointing so I am going to call a different contractor and will do no future dealings with home evolution. Very disappointed.

They made me come CB in with a check for $190. and signed contract. Wouldn't take a credit card over the phone for the transaction. I ran over with check and signed contract. No one called me for days. Then finally they tell me it will take a month to get someone over for the 20 minute install. First week of August into September. The work not done yet, so writing this could push it back further. I must Taylor in the Rensselaer office did everything she could to help me. We'll see.

HORRIBLE! We had Crawford install numerous Pella doors and windows and we had endless mistakes that…read morewere NEVER fixed, despite many many calls and conversations with the team. The screens are the wrong size and let bugs in the bottom, there were missing parts to the windows for months, the doors have major condensations and are dripping/leaking water. It is a fulltime job dealing with these guys and they seems to get a kick out of screwing people over. DO NOT USE THEM.

I have to leave a review contrary to those by some others. I have also had Crawford install new…read moredoors, new windows and replacement windows. I have had nothing but true professional and caring service, and I don't hesitate to contact them-sometimes kinda pissy too. When I had any issue, Denise [scheduler] and Chad [service tech] dealt with it immediately and kindly. Even when Chad saw a different issue than the one I may have called about, it was dealt with and fixed. All the new construction doors and windows are PERFECT. As for replacement windows, though very nice especially with the fold down feature making cleaning easy peasy, I just think in general, new construction is better. I had 2-8' new construction windows put in last summer-wonderful and 8 replacements on a 50 year old house. They're fine, but there's something about replacement that doesn't quite seem as "tight" as new. BUT to do all of those windows would've cost a fortune and what we did was expensive enough for us.
