This is the second project performed by owner John Markowski and his partner Bob. We purchased Harvey Windows from Curtis Lumber which John did all the measuring and ordering; including some upgrades. They removed the siding to add flashing since flashing had not been installed when the house was built in 1992. They also built and painted the casings, aprons, and sills. Their craftmanship was outstanding. John gave us recommendations as to where to purchase new shutters that he hung as well. Both John and Bob are very trustworthy which was important since they were in almost every part of our home. They cleaned inside and outside at the end of each day. John estimated ten days to complete and they finished in nine. The final cost was almost the same amount as the quote we received from a local Windows & Doors company. I would not hesitate to hire Dream Builders & Remodeling in the future.

They had been recommended through our main contract with Kitchen and Bath (kiba) Studios of Clifton Park. I'm reviewing Dream Builders & Remodeling separately because of how pleased we are with the outstanding work they performed. Owner John and his assistant demonstrated exceptional skills whether working with tiling, plumbing, or woodworking. Because we needed extensive electrical work to be done John arranged for a subcontractor to do that work. John made some suggestions early on in our project that not only addressed the aesthetics of a room but also improved its functioning. He and his assistant always arrived to work at the scheduled time and put in a full day's work. They made every effort to protect the areas they needed to pass through by using floor and stair coverings. They were very pleasant and courteous individuals who respected our home and did not blast radios or swear while working. We were so pleased with the quality of their work that during a period of downtime while we waited for a cabinet to replace one that had arrived damaged, we entered a direct contract with John to upgrade the trim around the windows of three bedrooms and to paint the walls and ceilings of those bedrooms. There is no doubt that we will be contacting John at Dream Builders & Remodeling again when we identify another project to be undertaken.

He answered all of my questions, provided recommendations and alternatives and the price was competitive. Based on that and his excellent communication, I went with Capital Exteriors. I requested photos before/during/after sent since I was not able to visit the house. Erik kept in constant communication and the house was finished ahead of schedule. I could not be happier with my experience. I would highly recommend Capital Exteriors, the roof looks beautiful and they were very easy to work with, even across the country.

do not use backyard fence please listen. if they install wrong or do anything wrong they blame you…read moreand lie and dont fix it. i have texts where they will twist and melissa pretends to he her father jerry. they did not properly install our fence we didnt notice it cuz we trusted them. the fence is so loose the wind blows it . jerry n melissa refuse to complete the fence. their workers threaten to jump the neighbors fence and fight. the police was called . they twist everything n will blame you. they are a horrible company. i thought they just did this to us. but i see they pick n choose. i paid thousands dollars for a fence that woobles so much . they said they fired the guy who installef my fence n did not pour concrete in the pole holes to secure it. please do not do not trust these people. they start nice n their sprinkle with kindness and they turn into nasty. horrible people who you have to call the police on and then they twist it n say they will call the police so they dont have to fix or be responsible. read other revews . please dont hire them. i hired them n referral to a friend. they schedule my friend 1st way before me .. got nasty n call names .. n its very unprofessional when they dont want to fix or owe up to their mustakes . the whole family gets nasty except the son if thats their son . zero minus rating. you'll regret hiring them . ​

I admit upfront that I might not be the typical customer who goes to 84 Lumber. I am not a…read morecontractor, nor am I a woodworker. However, I recently found myself looking for dimensional lumber (1x4) in the lengths of 10 and 12 feet. Home Depot and Lowe's do not typically carry wood this long, at least in pine (as opposed to exotic or hardwoods or composites) and in a quality grade (meaning, not cheap warped pine). I called here on a whim and they told me that they carried exactly what I was looking for. I drove over on a Saturday morning in the winter and went inside. They don't heat anything except the check-out area, and it was cold. But, they pointed out the area where I needed to look and helped me pick out some wood. It was about 50% more than the big box stores per foot, but the pine was warp and knot free and available in the lengths I needed. I purchased a bunch and they told me to drive my car into the building where they loaded it for me. It stuck out the back of my little Corolla but I made it home fine. Being a lumberyard, I doubt I will have much need to come here. However, they were helpful and priced right and carried what I needed (and couldn't find elsewhere). Just wear a coat!
