He was able to tell us about the products that we have, what to expect from each one and inform us about any issues that we could potentially run into. We have owned homes before this one but we have not owned homes with a well or septic before so his knowledge was incredibly helpful for first timer well/septic owners. We would HIGHLY recommend Darr's Water Treatment!

Four years ago, they replaced my water pressure tank and several failing fittings, and installed a…read morereverse osmosis (RO) system. Given the cost of this work, I expected durable materials, proactive recommendations, and transparent guidance. Unfortunately, both experiences have left me disappointed -- and more importantly, concerned about trust. Regarding the pressure tank: during installation, their team very likely observed an older, visibly corroded metal well intake pipe that had likely been in place for nearly 20 years under prior ownership. Fast forward to today -- I noticed heavy white corrosion on the 4.5-year-old brass fitting and an active water leak. Given the risk of catastrophic failure, I called for urgent service. To their credit, they arrived within two hours, which I appreciated. However, I was then told the metal pipework was not covered under the tank warranty and that it should be replaced with stainless steel -- which they acknowledged would last longer and resist corrosion better than the prior installation -- at a cost of $1,400. When a contractor identifies visibly corroded infrastructure during an install, I expect clear risk disclosure and upgrade options at that time -- not four years later when failure is imminent and the homeowner has little choice. Now to the RO system: at installation, I was told the filters were widely available commercially and easy to replace. I later learned the filters are proprietary and only sold through water system companies -- not readily available via retail as originally represented. That distinction materially affects long-term cost and flexibility. Years later, I called to ask how to sanitize the RO system myself. I was told it's something only they can do and that they would handle sanitization when delivering the next set of filters (rather than shipping them), which I accepted. After the technician sanitized the lines, he casually told me, "You know you can sanitize the lines yourself." That is exactly what I had asked about over the phone. I relied on their guidance, only to hear the opposite in person. For tradespeople working inside a home -- especially on critical water infrastructure -- trust and clarity are foundational. When guidance changes, material limitations aren't disclosed up front, or foreseeable corrosion isn't proactively addressed, it raises concerns beyond just cost. While I appreciate the prompt emergency response, the combination of reactive fixes, proprietary product limitations, and inconsistent communication has made this an unsatisfactory experience overall.

He gave me an estimate that no one else could touch. Work was scheduled for two days, but he and his son, Mike, worked longer on Day 1 and completed the whole project. Voila ... well water!! To add icing to the cake, the final bill was well below the estimate! I applaud Jeff and Mike for their promptness, quality of service, and integrity and honesty ... rare qualities in today's world! Plus he answered a myriad of my questions and educated me about wells. If you need any well work done, you can't go wrong with Jeff and his Clear Water team!

You have been to my home at least 6 times since installed to replace the control board, pistons,…read moreseals, add a larger pipe to the sewer, verify for yourself that my washer was destroyed by your inadequate installation. Why didn't you perform the annual service of the system during any those visits? I have no knowledge of what that entails and trusted you to properly maintain the system. Of course you did not charge us!!! The system continues to not deliver what was promised in addition to the flooding of my basement and destruction of my w Additionally this is the 3rd or maybe 4th time that we have received ERR3 which completely stops the flow of water to the house. You were here in February this year and had to replace a piston and seals AGAIN. I am currently bypassing the system because ONCE AGAIN we woke up to NO WATER. I am now working with the manufacturer directly to determine next steps as you clearly have no intention in making this right. I cannot sell my home until this is rectified! Who will buy a house with a disclosure that the filtration system breaks down every few months??? For those reading I will report back the final resolution in the event that others are experiencing the same issues. CONSUMER BEWARE! Update! The following is a message from the manufacturer. Keep in mind that this system was only installed in Oct 2015! "Based on the photos, it looks like this unit is using an older version of our electronics, which I believe is the cause of the error 3. I can send you a new board & motor kit at no charge, which I am confident will resolve the error code issue. The kit is very simple to replace, and includes detailed installation instructions, with photos. It does not require any plumbing, so you or your husband should be able to change it yourselves. Please let me know your shipping address, and I will get this replacement component shipped out via Fed Ex right away." Fingers crossed that this does the trick! At least the manufacturer is stepping up! June 2019 update. PROBLEM FINALLY RESOLVED BY MARTINS WATER CONDITIONING at MY expense. This system has no computer parts and does not run off of electricity! No more ERR3 issues like with ACW's problematic defunct system. Even the manufacturer couldn't fix that system. We didn't need a fancy shmancy system...our water was perfect except the sulfur smell! Now we have a sulfur guard system and water tastes and smells better than ever! We don't even filter the tap water anymore!! If anyone wants a free water system from ACW post here and you can come pick it up! American Clearwater....it will cost you $2,500. If you believe in your product you will at least make an offer.

He explained everything we asked, & we thought we understood the system we were buying -- Medallist Plus Series, which was one of the best at the time to our knowledge. We thought, per our conversations with our sales rep, our system's display would tell us when the salt was out, but after 2 years (and 4 people using the water) we checked the tank to find no salt at all but a small buildup of water. I called Culligan's office but was told the system we bought didn't have a sensor for low-salt levels. We looked at our paperwork, disagreed & called back to say it was malfunctioning. Without alerting us there would be a charge ($95 service call), a technician was sent. He, very kindly, explained the sensor was for an internal function, not the salt level. He then replaced a small part he recommended replacing every 3-4 years (a backwash flow control for $3.84+tax) and left. My husband's review stated we were surprised with a $100+ bill since we weren't alerted to these charges beforehand. The owner responded to my husband's review stating "Our technician found your system to be working properly and performed routine preventative maintenance. There were no other charges beyond the standard service charge." To me, the company's response is false. She either didn't review our file or is just trying to sound good in the response. When we unexpectedly received the ~$105 bill, my husband called & spoke to Kendra, co-owner & customer service manager. After explaining everything & stating we didn't feel the charge was warranted, she told my husband she "didn't care" & expected us to pay the full amount. Her complete lack of empathy, explanation, & customer service was appalling so we called our sales manager. Within a couple minutes he understood the disconnect & said he'd try to get Kendra to agree to a reduced cost since it was a miscommunication about the system, but we never heard back. About 3 weeks later, we received another bill -- this time with a finance charge due to late payment. I immediately called our sales rep & said in no uncertain terms we wouldn't be paying the finance charge. He was able to get that removed. While we paid the original bill amount, we still don't agree with this charge & think Culligan's office staff should work on their communication, transparency & customer service skills.
