I spent a long weekend eating and drinking my way around Duluth, and my favorite brewery we stopped at was Blacklist! It has such a fun atmosphere, but also a wide variety of great drinks!! I LOVED the seltzers, particularly the blueberry basil, but the peach hazy IPA and the Razz beer were also amazing! Also, their beers are on the stronger side so take note if you are trying to pace yourself! Now for the fun-- Blacklist also has axe throwing!! It is pretty affordable, too. It cost $100 for my group of 6 to play for an hour. The instructor was also super personable and helpful! He kept it safe but also super fun, and he was able to step in when someone needed help but hang out when we were doing okay on our own. He also ensured no one ever had an empty glass and everyone was having fun!! I would recommend Blacklist to absolutely anyone, and would totally come back when in Duluth!

    Cheers with beers!

The beer is so good here! Def worth checking out if you're in the Duluth area. I also enjoyed the vibe - there's brick walls, painted wall mural, & bright lights. They have a bunch of board games too. The beertender was friendly and he was cool with letting my group taste a few of the brews. I landed on the Or De Belgique or say "ODB" if you don't want to make a fool of yourself trying to pronounce it :D I liked that it was fruity and wheaty- very flavorful & not boring. I also liked the Cran, a Belgian with the right balance of cranberries coming through. My friends enjoyed their stouts very much. Overall, I'm impressed by the sophisticated beers. If you like beer, you'll def appreciate this place. It's nice they also have seltzers tho so the non-beer person in our group, didn't make us chug our beer and go somewhere else. She enjoyed her seltzer which allowed the rest of us to stay and try out a couple beers! I see what you did there Blacklist (*high-five)! The only downside is that it's paid street parking only. It's in a busy part of town so can be challenging. They also don't have food here. It's still worth coming to this trendy brewery for the beer though and isn't that the most important thing! Cheers to the beers!

Had an amazing experience at blacklist! Went right at opening time on a Saturday. Felt safe with covid precautions. The beer selection is varied and there's something for everyone. The dill pickle beer was a fun drink- served with a real pickle! The seltzer flavors were out of this world. They have a few snacks available. We had the pretzel with cheese and mustard, which was very tasty. Highly recommend a stop at blacklist!

This place has fantastic beer , service and the ambiance is top notch. I was on a vacation from the twin cities and am glad that I stopped by.

We drove by Blacklist the last couple of times we were in Duluth and finally made it in to sit down for a few brews. The space right on Superior Street is easy to miss but is well worth seeking out. First, the space is just lovely. It's big and relaxing with a totally chill vibe that completely fits Duluth. The bar is long and inviting and you can choose to belly up there or have a seat at a table. Second the beer is excellent. I stuck with the Wit, which struck me as a really good and better-than-average take on this style of beer. It has more orange/citrus notes than say a Mothership Wit, but is still such an easy drinker that I could easily down a couple of these with no problem. My husband tried the Finally We Got Our IPA and the Last Pale on Earth, both of which he really liked (he liked Last Pale on Earth better by a touch). And while we're talking about it, if I could give a sixth star for the funniest beer name I've heard in a long, long time, I would award it here. If you don't get the joke, you're not cool enough to know. OK, just trolling you. If you don't get the joke, Google "Last Place on Earth" and Duluth. Our bar tender was super nice and friendly. We had a nice little chat with him. He was really helpful and happy to chat with us about the various beers. He even texted someone on the brewing side of the business to answer a question he did not know the answer to. In all, great stop and great beer. We took a crowler to go and will be back.

Hands down my favorite brewery in Duluth. since the last time we visited they did a little renovating! That means they added some fun! Axe throwing! They have three lanes which fit up to six people each. We didn't get in this time but, we make sure to stop in every Duluth visit so it's definitely in the cards. We have a complete blast every time we visit! Its legit not just about the beer but, the expericne. We have a blast each time and the wonderful staff have a lot to do with that! Shout of to Meg from our last visit! The beer is great in my opinion! They also started up a whole menu of hard Seltzers made with Valkre Distillery syrups. We tried the cranberry-ginger, grapefruit, and plain. These are the best seltzers a brewery has made before. They aren't overly sugary. They are clean, crisp, and delicious. They are very refreshing. As for the beer. I enjoyed it all. My personal favorite was the bourbon barreled Cherry Imperial Stout they had on tap. It was smooth with cherry, bourbon, and chocolate notes. To future visits at this awesome brewery!

We had an awesome time here. Friendly attentive staff. Thrilling time axe throwing. Fantastic beers. Perfect start to our last day in Minnesota!

A few friends and I got drinks here and threw axes. Throwing axes was a lot of fun! We each got our own lane. The instructor was really friendly and helpful. It was $19 for an hour, which isn't a bad price at all! The drinks were okay. We got the guava seltzers.

Oh my god. Decided to try Blacklist Artisan Ales on a whim with some girlfriends. Best decision ever. Our waiter was incredibly welcoming and nicely laughed at all our jokes. Our first flight was bought by the wonderful Cindi with an I. Her god son brews the beer and she wanted to spread the word of the delicious beer to newcomers who had never been before. I ordered the beermosa - what a wonderful invention. I highly recommend it to any visitors. Some other high points of this establishment: 1) they have GAMES! (We played candy land), 2) bartender can sing like an angel, 3) the other patrons are also incredibly welcoming #blacklistbeer

I tried the Finally We Got Our IPA and the Vikre Grapefruit Seltzer - both were great. Then again, you can't really mess up an IPA right? Cheers!

Best ales in Duluth. It has a Belgium theme to the beer. First time here, and really impressed with the Dark Belgian, very smooth. Wit Nior is a great Dark Belgian Wheat Ale, very smooth! Nice way going place to have a few beers and carry on a conversation. It is not a loud tap room, like some places. Don't pass up Das Boot!!

The bartender was great. They had 4 types of Athletic Brewing which I really appreciated. We had a delicious soft pretzel.

Bent Paddle Brewing Company is a family-owned and operated craft brewery and taproom in Duluth, Minnesota. The brewery opened in May 2013 and uses Lake Superior water to brew it's beers and hemp beverages. Bent Paddle's mission is to create a unique craft beer experience while also being sustainable for the business, employees, environment, and community. And they deliver on it all. I got a flight to enjoy some of their more limited offerings. Munchin Pretzels: An Oktoberfest beer brewed with traditional German Malts and Hops. I get toasted bread malt character with a bit of sweetness, but rounded out by a hop bitterness. The malt profile is definitely the forefront and I wished I had a pretzel to go with it. Infinity Stuf: An Oatmeal Stout that they went all out with 100 pounds of Oreos. Nutty oatiness, chocolate, and medium fullness. I appreciate it not being a Pastry Stout, but still get lots of Oreo character. A Beer of Their Own: A Hoppy Pale Ale brewed in collaboration with a Bar Of Their Own in the Twin Cities. Tropical fruit forward - primarily melon and cantaloupe, with a nice finish. Stratarado: A Hoppy Pale Ale brewed with Strata and El Dorado (get the name?). Tropical fruit, pineapple, some sweetness on the tongue. Liked this one a lot. ______

I can wax poetic about wandering around the building but, that can be for another time. The brewhouse is a cool place to hang after you've become weary of hitting all the shops on Canal street. Nestled in the old brewery you will experience first and foremost some solid beers (take some crowlers home with you), and some decent food. I think we at lunch here three times? I think one kind of gets tricked into eating here. One starts with a couple beers, then an appetizer, and the next thing you know, you're onto an entree without giving it a second thought. Honestly, I don't think I had anything or tasted anything that was bad. My favorites here are: 1. Poutine: fries, cheese curds, bacon and gravy? that is always a winner. 2. Elote Dip is super good. I'd fight somebody for the last scoop of the dip. 3. the Pretzels are good. Love the cheese sauce....I would ask for mustard too, but that is just me. 4. Pimento Cheeseburger is a favorite like the little bit of kick it offers with the Jalapenos, and it was made medium rare for me to boot I did try a bit of the Wild Rice burger. It was OK, non-meat options are not my gig for a burger. the person who ordered this, truly enjoyed it. I also want to mention the their beer is fresh, well-made, and there is usually a taproom only beer available. I have missed it the last few years but, they had a barleywine that was outstanding. I hope that comes back. If you're in Duluth it is totally worth the stop. Eat some food, drink some beers, buy some merch and support this local treasure.
