This hardware store is MUCH more than just a hardware store. They have tons of gift and novelty items - decorative napkins, wrapping paper, tervis tumblers, candles, pet items, and more. This is a fun place to look around, and the store is always clean and inviting. The staff are friendly and helpful! read more

Always a good experience with tons of staff offering to help. This time I was looking for a way to fix my smoker's door - the handle had fallen apart and pieces were missing. I took the handle parts to Richard to find the right screw - he actually added threads to the handle and sent me home with a washer that also fit, going above and beyond what I expected! As always the store has so much and if I didn't need to fix the smoker I would have spent more time just browsing - the renovation means more space and more things to see. read more

Blackhawk Hardware - Handle as fixed by Richard! - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Every time I go to Blackhawk it is a wonderful experience. My most recent experience was getting keys made, which Alec and Boran helped me with. They were incredibly helpful and considerate to me and everyone else I saw them interact with. This store is dog friendly so I have brought my pups and everyone is so happy to see them, they even have treats at the front for the pups! There is so much at this store, it's really incredible. Plus there is a garden center which is just spectacular, and all of the employees seem to know a lot about the section of the store they work in. 10/10, would recommend. read more

Always puts me in a great mood, I have been going to Blackhawk for years. I actually bring people here when they visit. Always great staff, items you didn't know you even needed. Wish there were more. This is a great test store for a car dealership, hotels or any business you want to show great customer service. 5 Stars are not enough. Thank you for all you do to make the shopping experience. read more

It was ladies night as Blackhawk Hardware. It was so much fun. There several vendors there that setup stations so that we could try out their products. We received goodie bags with treats and we had wine while we shopped. I found out about several great products. I love Blackhawk. They are so different from other hardware stores. They really offer great support service, and tools and tips. To have an event for women was so awesome. Now I am just waiting for the classes. They are not just a hardware store. They have so many uniques items. I could go on and in but just go there to shop. It's so worth it. read more

Fabulous collection of drawer pulls in their hardware store! I had a wonderful experience getting advice for some furniture drawer pulls I needed. The personalized attention helped me find the best items for my furniture. I think the advantages of BH is this opportunity to meet and ask questions about your hardware needs. I also like the wide variety of items and the friendly atmosphere. I bought some great drawer pulls for my home. I parked and walked a bit because the shopping center is crowded but it's easy. (Plus you can visit Suarez bakery while you are nearby!) read more

The most amazing collection of mdse. At checkout I felt rip-offed $12 for a can of spray paint, $7 for a 5/8" dowel, $1.45 for some caphead screws. I will never shop there again!! read more

poor customer service. I called Blackhawk hardware and said that I had a question about copying my key fob. The lady who answered said that she would transfer me to the department and put me on hold. The second person who answered said that it wasn't their department and they would put me on hold and transfer me. the third person to pick up said it wasn't their department either and put me on hold. the fourth person who answered said they would put me on hold and transfer me. this time i finally said no i've been transferred 4 times this is the key department why can't you answer my question? i was told once again i'd be put on hold. i finally just hung up. very frustrating! it was one question! read more

Looking for something? Blackhawk has it. I feel fortunate to have a store like this in our city. It's not just a hardware store but... well how do you describe it? Just go. The staff is amazing and are there to help with whatever you are doing. Thank you Blackhawk read more

This is no ordinary hardware store! There are a whole lot of premium and unique goods here. I was like a kid in a candy store. That being said, I purchased my Stihl Weedeater here because they don't sell this premium brand in Lowes or Home Depot. The older gentleman was very knowledgeable about the product he was selling me. He even filled it up with gas after I'd purchased it and walked me through the step-by-step process of how to operate it. He also filled out my warranty card and registered it online with Stihl Corporation for me. I didn't ask him to do any of this--he just did it. I thought this kind of service faded away with the 1950s but apparently not. The quality of customer service I get at Blackhawk Hardware on Park Rd. should serve as a model for every hardware store in the USA because it's second to none. read more

This place is great. Very helpful. Also whenever you change out a propane tank there with the blue rhino usually get a new tank. It's good to get a new gas tank for safety. read more

I just re-discovered my favorite hardware store. If you've ever read the book Raving Fans, this is a perfect example of how to do it right. Fresh popcorn while you walk around the store? Sure! Why? Because they can. There are always plenty of staff available to help you find what you're looking for and they have everything you can think of. I dare you to try and shop here with a list of specific home improvement items you need and not leave with all of them. It's impossible. read more

This place is like a guys toy store. They have everything you could possibly want for your home. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful! You can always find a store employee to help you out in the blink of an eye. The prices are very fair here as well. Great service, has everything you could need. And it cheap. Good location. Fun. Yeah.

My wife and I both agree the few extra dollars you pay here is worth it for what is attentive service. And now the store has doubled in size, during the lock downs this store has remained open and become an outing for us! I always go here first before venturing out to the two big box stores. read more

Excellent customer service! Glass was cut perfectly, customer service was great as always.

Blackhawk Hardware garden center is a nice place to browse through if you have a garden to put together. Here you will find beautiful fountains, cute and odd-shaped benches, exotic looking plants and great garden accessories like lanters and these cute little monkey looking greenery figures that hang from trees and plants (see photo for better explanation!) Adorable! You will notice when browsing that when you think you've seen it all, there is always more little areas, whether they be one step up toward the back or over on the side - these areas are set up like their own little gardens within the garden and they will give you great ideas for what your own garden could become. The staff here is very friendly and eager to help. Just watch out before you go falling in love with anything or mentally place it in your own little garden oasis, some of these prices will slap you right back down to reality. read more

Blackhawk Hardware is the local neighborhood hardware stores that has all the nuts, bolts, odd and ends, thingy you could ever look for. This is not the chain store that your going to find lumber at but more of a place where your looking for an off side nut or bolt, a different type of faucet figure or something that those "other guys" don't have. This is also the place to go if you have a Boy Scout/Cub Scout and you need help/knowledge to build a pine wood derby car. They have all the fix-ens that you would need for your car. The rest is up to your creativity. Sales folks are friendly if you can't find something, ask, since you probably walked right by it. And while your at it... meet a couple of your neighbors while your shopping. Oh yea, The nice part. These folks are dog friendly. read more

This is such a neat little store. I bought my table top grill from them, I had to order it. They are definitely taking this pandemic seriously. I think what I really liked is even though I was wearing a mask the lady at the front recognized me the second time I was there?! I thought that was nice, definitely a family business, wonderful people read more

This place puts Home Depot and Lowes to shame, both in terms of selection as well as helpful staff.

This Place is Awesome and I am glad they did not use ACE HARDWARE in their signage, I am not a fan but this place has changed my mind. Clean, helpful staff, and have just about everything you need except for lumber due to space constrictions. Seems to have a good Guy/Girl balance of customers and funny thing is I was looking for a particular item at Lowe's and they did not have iit, the salesman said you NEED to go to Blackhawk. Yes Lowe's salesman sending me to Blackhawk..LOL So I went and they did not have the item either but, it was a wonderful discovery moment, I think I have a New Hardware store the wife and I can both enjoy going to. The only reason for the 4 star rating if their prices because of location(?) a couple of items we purchased were about 1/3 more but convenience offsets the price for me. So if you have not been, GO! read more

[cue movie guys voice]: "In a world of big-box hardware stores...." Blackhawk Hardware hold's its own against the Home Depots and Lowe's stores in the area. Located in Park Rd Shopping center... they have a plethora of items - granted there won't be as big a selection as a big box store, they still get the job done. Always like stopping in here and getting lost in the aisles. Their store map, still seems a little crazy to me, but that is probably because I am so trained with the other store area/department locations. One thing that does set Blackhawk apart are its employees. They generally seem to want to help you instead of you chasing after some employee in a cavernous space. Now Blackhawk I believe is a result of ACE Hardware merging with someone else, so they aren't exactly a small mom & pop either. I'd say mid-size is a better way to describe them. I've only really gone in to get small items... some replacement bolts, door knobs, a door mat... They also cut keys and sharpen tools for you. Recently they've undergone a small remodel - their registers used to show their age, but I think their new setup (reminds me of a bestbuy) is a little bit better. read more

It's like stepping into the garden of Adam and Eve. Alright maybe not that spectacular, but the landscaping and beautiful greenery of Blackhawk is pretty astonishing. Lillies and Hibiscus flowers dangle above your head and below your feet. I loved the yard ornaments as well, very classy unlike what you would expect. The large brass compass of the sun and the moon on top was gorgeous. The aromas alone were a great step away from the smog and harshness of the city's smells. I am going to come back here to get my Mom a present soon. Or maybe I will get the fun mushroom ornaments and make my yard into Alice and Wonderland. If you are looking for a place to decorate your upperclass home, this is it. read more

At Blackhawk Hardware, there is a group of older gentlemen downstairs I affectionately refer to as "the brain trust." Ask them any question about the odd project on your list and you are likely to get sage, honest advice that you can count on. One of them, John, has been so incredibly helpful to me on my door project that I'm always going to go to Blackhawk first. He helped me find the exact right fit of brass screws that I needed for hanging my front door after I finished repainting it. I had been to Lowes and to Home Depot before going to Blackhawk because Blackhawk was closed. Neither of those stores had the brass screws I needed for the door. John was very patient with me and found absolutely the right screws. I went home, rehung the door that afternoon and the old brass hinges look beautiful on my newly painted door. I was there today again, finishing up on weather stripping and John and the rest of the brain trust were there help solve my problem. For any guy who likes to putter around and work on projects around the house, go to Blackhawk, go downstairs, talk to John and the rest of the brain trust. They are incredibly knowledgeable and have more years of experience between them than most of the other stores all put together. Great hardware store. Thank you. read more

Blackhawk Hardware has so many cool things you really could spend hours walking the aisles. They have a lot of things you can't find at other stores. Their staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. Every encounter I've had with any of their employees has been great. The store is clean and well organized. They really do have a plethora of items that go beyond hardware. I have to be honest and say I actually shop there for kitchen items and other random things and have not actually bought anything hardware there but my husband has and he really loves going there too. I love that I can peruse the household aisles and send him along to Shop the hardware section. Around the holidays they have a ton of really unique Holiday decor. Their Holiday setup is really beautiful too so it is just nice to go see. If you are looking for a unique item for a friend or family member they will surely have it. I bought my brother in law a Duke Christmas ornament that he loved. They had all types of sports and team ornaments. I have also bought quite a few things there for my dog. They have a really nice pet section. Overall it is a really cool locally owned business to support. Stop by and check it out. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is my go-to hardware store. I love how well things are marked, I can find things easily and there is always friendly helpful available. I'm excited for the expansion, with an additional floor and elevator this made it easier for my Mom to navigate with her canes; going to a big box home improvement store doesn't work. This hardware store carries everything and then some. read more

Love the product, the people, the service and the popcorn. However, having prominently displayed Make America Great Again (MAGA) hats for sale was a turn-off, even though they were close to the Halloween exhibit. I strongly believe that Blackhawk has a perfect right to display and sell whatever they want. In fact, I literally fought for my country and their constitutional right to do so. Bottom line is that I won't be visiting Blackhawk in the near future. Maybe after Halloween the MAGA hats will be gone. read more

Hardware and home improvement stores are not my thing, you can usually find me sitting on a riding lawn mower reading magazines or sitting in the car. Billy had to run into Blackhawk for something quick, I sat in the car. One minute later, my phone rings, "you're going to want to come in." When you walk in, it seems like an old school five and dime. They have all your basic needs for gardening or hardware, but then there's so much more, cooking implements, cookie jars, aprons, tea pots and gadgets you simply can't live without. Their employees are available to say hello or help you find what you are looking for. Don't forget to help yourself to the fresh popcorn at the front door. It's a little bit like walking back in time, in a good way. read more

I love Blackhawk! Unbeatable service, large selection, quality goods, reasonable prices. And it's so clean! They have an awesome kitchen/cooking section with all sorts of hardware that you would need to cook any sort of meal. Don't even get me started on their garden center--it's fantastic! And the flowers/plants are ALWAYS in tremendous shape, and I've never had one die on me. I go here on my lunch break just to walk around their beautiful gardens. And these people know their plants! They give expert advice on how to care for the plants you buy and will remember your name the next time you're there. This place always brings a smile to my face! read more

You need it? They have it! I haven't been to an ACE Hardware in a really long time; however, I recently visited Blackhawk and was amazed at the amount of products they have. The store is really huge and they offer everything from bathroom shower curtains, paint, gardening, to kitchen gadgets. They even offer popcorn as soon as you walk in. I easily get distracted in here because my eyes are constantly wandering to look at what else they carry...a bit overwhelming. My husband and I have a little running joke that if we can't find what we need at a store we go to Blackhawk and sure enough, there it is. I don't know why we just don't go there first...maybe that will change. The employees are very helpful! If they don't have what you need in stock, they will place an order and it'll arrive within a couple days. Like the old saying, "Ace is the place for me." read more

Terrible customer service. Mixed us the wrong paint, still charged us to remix and employee had attitude the whole time

Hands-down one of my favorite places to shop in Charlotte. There's no way you will walk through there and not see something you want to take home. Hardware pulls that look like jewelry, animals, fruit, flowers, & more; high-quality custom lawn signs and house signs; chimes; birdhouses,,, kitchen; bath; pet supplies, paint, laundry room, you name it they have it... I can't possibly do it justice here. You have to experience it, and don't forget to check out a few feet away their wonderful garden center! read more

This store is more of a home and hardware store. They carry a variety of everything from tools, hardware, nails, screws, cleaning supplies, yard tools, and more than I have time to list. I did like the display of hardware pulls and handles on the wall. Another thing that impressed me was the friendliness of the people who worked there. They were approachable and knew the products. read more

Blackhawk Hardware - Looking for certain type of hardware? - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Blackhawk Hardware is a super cool place to experience. It's a Hardware store, gift shop, pet supply store, cooking and wine shop all in one. Or better yet, it's the LOVE CHILD of a Marshalls Home Goods Store and a Lowes Home Improvement Store. You name it and they most likely carry it. There is Staff literally around every corner and the best part, they are polite, professional and KNOWLEDGEABLE. Wow what a concept. The day I was there I made an impulse purchase, Conversation Cards which might I add have been a huge hit at our dinner table. I also indulged in the complimentary freshly popped popcorn. YUMMO! So go check out Blackhawk you will have a great time I promise. read more

This place is fantastic! It is a blast from the past in a good staff is plentiful and very helpful. I went to the store to buy a replacement drawer nob. The employee helped me look for an exact replacement and then suggested maybe I can have their handyman fix the one I had. He was able to fix it and it cost me three dollars instead of twenty plus dollars had I gone anywhere else. Bottom line is you get what you pay for and I will always gladly pay a nominal amount more for such a personal experience. read more

Great little in town hardware store!! They have an incredible selection of pretty much everything but food, aside from the popcorn your welcome to help yourself with. They also have helpful workers all over the place to help you find exactly what you're looking for. It's a great little place to support your local business. read more

If the super friendly and knowledgeable staff wasn't enough reason to visit, the free popcorn is just icing on the cake. Every time I walk in here it is for a specific project. And every time there is someone working there who seems to know exactly what I'm talking about and exactly what I need to do. It's the best place for everything little parts, to tools, to kitchen gadgets. Returns (like when you measure your tub drain incorrectly, twice, and need to return a drain plug, twice) are hassle free. It's a little pricier for some things than the big hardware stores. But, if you need advice on something, it is worth the extra buck or two to only visit one place. read more
