Okay so I am a bartender and server....but I was also a restaurant manager for over 10 years. In fact, one of my ex employees works here. I have been waiting YEARS to go here. I was so excited, we made reservations and it was my birthday. First...our reservations were at a quarter after 5 we walked in right on time. The first time we saw our server was 5:35. So 20 minutes just sitting at the table. Then I asked for a cocktail menu, they don't have one but don't worry she told me they have a full bar a couple of times. Yeah I get it, but no specialty cocktails? So I just got wine....eh, their wine list sucks. I have Kim Crawford in my fridge. Food was just eh. My salmon was so gross it ended on my side plate (also my parents live on a boat in the San Jauns and I grew up fishing) and when she picked it up she says "ew, what is this? Salmon?" Got the crab legs here and oysters. They were good and the price was reasonable. Plus, they were open late on a Sunday which is great for us graveyard people. The smoky atmosphere was a bit of a detraction to the whole ambience. However, the service was quick and friendly. The dessert was so so....ordered the tart with frozen berries. Not so sure about the frozen berries. The dish was pretty to look at but the frozen berries became difficult to eat after a while. Second time eating here and I have to say definitely a better experience second time around. Started off with salmon chowder, it was very delicious. It had corn, potatoes, and smoked salmon. Flavor was outta this world. It was very filling as well to my surprise. I had the make your own got the salmon tail side with lemon sauce. You get to choose 2 sides I got the gouda mash and spaghetti squash, best sides I'd say! Everything was made fresh and quality. We got started off with flat breads and flavored butters first time around I wasn't a fan but it definitely grew on me. For such a fancy restraurant there menu is very limited and no sushi, sad. Probably the best restaurant on the Tulalip Casino premise. The quality of food there is always great. And service, well, it depends on your server. I've had good servers and bad ones. My absolute go-to server is Maria and she is bomb. She knows the menu like the back of her hand and can always suggest modifications based off of your needs. She's super attentive and friendly and greatly cares if you've enjoyed your meal. Their seafood is always fresh and I love their oysters. The steamed clams and french onion soups are bomb (though the french onion can be a bit salty at times... I usually request a bit of hot water and mix it in). I alway go for the seafood/steak board where I can piece my yums together. I like food on the lighter side, so I always ask the chef to hold on the oil, salt and pepper when grilling. The food always comes out deliciously yum. I love love the mushroom relish sauce and mushroom risotto. You'll need to give them both a try if you've never had it before. I do wish that they would bring the berry soufflé's back, but I guess that's not in the cards. read more

Normally I love blackfish and everything is perfect. Went there last night for dinner food was good as usual. They changed the desert menu. I got the key lime pie and the brûlée trio. The key lime was about two bites and had no crust. The blueberry compote that came with it tasted like blueberries with syrup. The brûlée trio was packaged to go and looked disgusting how it was packaged. I've gotten brûlée to go before and it has never looked like that (pics below). The chocolate brûlée tasted and looked like chocolate pudding. The other two were good. The new desert menu sucks and I hope they refine it soon. Btw the key lime was 8 bucks lol for that. read more

First off our waitress was by far the best part of the experience. She was amazing! I got the crab Mac n cheese it was good but not cheese enough. My mom got the Berry salad that was freaking amazing! By far best salad I've ever had. Best old fashioned in the whole casino. One complaint is that my grandma had. We went to the casino not really expecting to stay for dinner but were on a roll so we had to break to eat. Popped in here and since we weren't too hungry opted to share a steak plate. First the table "bread" that came was described to us as fry bread. I laughed when she brought us a basket of oversize crackers. They were terrible and gaudy so they didn't supply taste or appearance. The stake was okay...not very lean, lots of fat and gristle. The potato option which was like a potato au gratin that seemed to be encapsulated in cheese was pretty delicious and saved the night - however the grease factor provided stomach pains later and forced us to leave before we were ready. I think the seafood options might be better, I'm open to trying them again, but won't be ordering the same thing or counting on table bread because I'm starving. read more

I used to love this place. Unfortunately, my last experience made it horrible. I was out to dinner with a high school friend who I only see twice a year. We were having a nice start but the Martini glass I had, had a chip in it and I didn't know so when I took a sip I cut my lip. I let the server know and she ran her finer over it, presumably to make sure I wasn't lying and she also saw my lip. All she did was get me a new one, no other acknowledgement, no I'm sorry or offer for a free drink or anything. The manager didn't even come over to apologize. That in itself was annoying, but our dinners came and we usually love the heritage salmon, however it was under cooked and under seasoned. Overall, very disappointing. read more

Birthday dinner here with my Husband. Everything was great and no complaints at all. I was surprised with a small cake.

Went here last night with my hubby and my parents. We were there celebrating my mom's birthday week. Food wise it was a hit or miss on some stuff. One for starters their maple porkbelly that cost $12 for three small bite size pieces was not worth it. My husband scallop plate was good and my salmon plate was okay the salmon wasn't cook to perfection and so I was a little upset about that. However my mom was very happy with her steak that she had and it was cooked perfectly and it really melt in your mouth! The bounty bowl was okay. Overall, I would have given it three stars but I think they did do a great job with their sauces and certain dishes. So will I eat there again??? Yes, I'll try anything more than once to give it a fair shot. Be prepare to spend some mula!!! read more

Came here last weekend for a work gathering. Food was excellent from the appetizers to the main dishes. I would highly recommend the halibut! So delicious and perfectly made. My only problem with our experience was with our server. While she was attentive, she really didn't know a whole lot about the restaurant or the casino! We wanted to order a bottle of wine for the table and asked her for her recommendations on a red. She said something like "well its hard to say because we have so many options"......okay. Then later when we asked her what her favorite game was to play out in the casino she said "I dont know, i dont gamble"......hmmmmmm. It just seemed a little odd to me. We took a little mini vacay to Tulalip Resort, no we don't gamble but we love the rooms and love to shop and love how everything is all within reach for our likings:) It was the 4th so boom city was cracking, anywho, I used my OpenTable app to book reservations here since the buffet is not worth the money so we were hoping Blackfish would be a huge step up and it was!!! The restaurant is pretty small but I loved how it felt, dimly lit and kinda romantically which fit our stay here:) My husband LOVES seafood, especially oysters and we started out with a dozen, unfortunately they only had a few kinds to choose from as the waitress apologized and informed us that they were very busy over the weekend and it being a holiday have no been able to restock accordingly, none the less what we had was delicious and sooo fresh. Next we had the caesar salad and split it, added some anchoives to put a little something something to it as well. We each ordered a dinner plate as well but had to take our time as we will slowing filling our tummies to the brink of bursting:) The drinks we had were amazing!!! The restaurant slowly started to fill but our waitress was attentive and always around the corner for whatever we needed. Although the price is on the high end, the atmosphere, service and FOOD were all worth it, maybe save a visit here for a celebration of some sort or for some delicious seafood?!? read more

My parents, brother and I all stayed a night at the Tulaip Casino to celebrate our graduating from the University of Washington. After doing my due diligence, I suggested we dine at Blackfish for dinner. Extremely relaxed from our hot stone massages, we were famished and in dire need of a cocktail. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice, especially after a massage. I wasn't too thrilled about the crusty bread stick and butter combo, but the rest of my family couldn't stop raving about how amazing it was. All of us enjoyed our dishes, and my ever so picky parents, both said this was one of the best restaurants they have ever been to. The portions are large and the presentation of the food was good as well. If you're staying at the resort, I would recommend ordering light, as the rooms (or at least the one we had) did not have a location to refrigerate food. Don't contemplate whether to switch out a different side for the cheddar cheese potato pie. It was one of the most foodtastic experiences I have ever had! One so great, I hope to one day recreate that amazing side dish! read more

My husband and I made the trek up to Marysville and had dinner here on Saturday night. There were some winners and losers, making it an overall average dinner, especially for the price. Winners: Our favorite were the brussel sprouts with bacon, absolutely delicious. The sun dried tomato pasta was also very, very good. The oyster flight was delicious, the crab cakes were just OK. Our server in the bar was outstanding, I've forgotten her name, but she deserves a raise (blonde and pregnant). Losers: My husband's butter poached lobster was rubbery, and for $48 it should be cooked perfectly. My risotto was also notably overcooked, solid and gluey. Atmosphere: The overpowering smell of cigarette smoke while you eat, a big yuck. The restaurant is wide open to the casino making it very, very loud. Definitely not a romantic dining spot. If your special occasion is a bachelorette party or other loud festive event, this is a good place. So, Tulalip Casino has about 4 restaurant "levels" (not counting the delis, the "club lounge", or the cabaret). If 4 is the least expensive (and most lighted) and 1 is the most expensive (and darkest), Blackfish would be the "2." From outside the restaurant (and on the casino side), the attraction is probably the bar, taking up the entire front "wall" of the restaurant, complete with giant, unholy sizes of alcohol and giant fish. Seafood lover? You *know* you want to go in. I like how nice the servers are... Then again, as mentioned before, my mom is there a lot, so that could be why. The place can accommodate a fairly large group (moving around a couple of large, heavy tables.) The place is pretty dim (but not completely dark), which is unfortunate for people who like to see the colors of their food.. like me. Most of the lights are on the edges of the restaurant. The food is pretty good.. and so is the presentation. Friends have raved over the lobster mac & cheese and the northwest bounty bowl (which is huge). The menu boasts fresh salmon and oysters. The salmon on a stick (called such because of how it's cooked and not necessarily how it's served) is rather good, but can sometimes come out dry on some days. You can order your fish cooked just about any way, and you can mix and match your sauces and sides, if you're not ordering the pre-set dinners. Be careful when you order from the appetizers, as most of them are meant for only one person. If I remember correctly, only one of the appetizers is actually meant for sharing. Make sure to ask the server how big the servings are before ordering. The entrees themselves are a good enough portion (besides the huge NW bounty bowl) that I can actually finish. For dessert, I love-love their berry gelato. But, even if you don't get that, you get to walk away with some mini chocolate cupcakes... which is actually my favorite part of going there. The downside to the menu is that... I don't think it has changed since they opened. The food menu is only about a full 2 pages. On special occasions (ie, Thanksgiving or Christmas), they will have a special entree, which really only lasts for the day. read more

We ate here 3 weeks ago. The food was great, the service was great. We were so impressed that we told our friends to eat here and wrote a great reveiw online. So when we needed to go to the airport last night we decided to drive an extra hour out of the way just to come back and eat here. Wish we wouldn't have. The service was horrible. The flatbread seemed like it had been sitting out for days. Ordered the same meal we ordered last time the bounty bowel. It was horrible and one of the ingredients is supposed to be lobster. It didn't have any lobster. $34 bowel and I could have ordered better fish at Dennys. The salmon that my friend ordered was dry and tiny. My husband had halbit and it was the worst fried mess you have ever seen. After we ate the waitress cleared our table and went to help another group and never came back. We waited for 25 min to get our check. The manager was walking around the whole time looking like she had nothing to do so we asked her for our check and she acted like she was just too busy to help us and we were a bother to her. Service and wait staff was good no complaints there. It's the food that's the problem. The bread they give you is hard as rock slabs of tasteless lavash with some compound butters I suppose you are supposed to spread on this cracker thing - oh and it's served in a big tall tower that blocks your view of people across from you and you have to break pieces off. Just weird. Oysters were not too bad. Crab cakes were two minuscule ones that were not really very good. Had to send a steak back twice to have it cooked as ordered and they still couldn't get it right so a $40 steak was left uneaten. The potato scallop thing was sooooo salty it was not even edible. Asparagus charred. The prawns were delicious served with lemon butter but the ravioli side was honestly sickening. It had some strange sour sauce on it that made my stomach churn and then just covered with a pile of melted cheese. This was one of the free sides you get with a pick a protein option but like many others it was not free and had an upgrade charge. Two people left over half of their food on their plates and we were just asked if we wanted it packed up rather than asking why they weren't eaten. My husband and I have been to the Blackfish twice in the past 6 months and both times the food was excellent. The atmosphere is different in a good way! You can hardly tell you're in a casino, it's all dim and dark and moody. Both times we've been in we've ordered a different steak dish and they have been prepared perfectly and one seafood dish which has been great as well. The reason Blackfish is getting 3 stars from me rather than 4 is the service. When we went for dinner last week we were never offered the wine list, our drinks were not freshened during the meal, and the waitress didn't come back to check on us mid-meal. When she did come back at the end she asked if we wanted dessert but it was pretty obvious it was because she had to, dropped off the check and then disappeared for another 25 minutes. Unbelievable. I seriously left a $5 tip on a $110 bill and I usually tip really well! I'm hoping this was a fluke because the food really is excellent and the first time we dined at Blackfist our waiter was outstanding. read more
