Took my wife to dinner for her birthday last night at the Blackfish. We were seated immediately in a booth which I had requested. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. They were good, I just thought they could be a little warmer. The dinner salad was excellent. For dinner, my wife was excited to see the dusted scallops back on the menu which she ordered and enjoyed immensely. I ordered the New York strip which was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. Krystal was our server and she made our evening all the more enjoyable. This USED to be the spot when Tulalip first opened for a special night out. Our family dined here regularly and then slowly stopped coming as the food quality declined and prices rose over the years. Last night was the first time my husband and I have been in over 6 years so we figured we would go in with low expectations and give it another shot. Sadly, it met our low expectations. I will give it one star for the service (which has always been great!) and another star for the food which was ok at best. I would give it another half a star if I could because you are able to make reservations which at the busy Tulalip resort, is a huge perk. They give you a basic basket of rolls to start. They are the same rolls they offer you at Cedars Cafe at Tulalip. In the past it used to be these awesome artisan crackers and butter so its sad they don't do something fancy like that anymore.I ordered the salmon caesar and the portion was soooo small... for $48. Like 6 stalks of romaine and a tiny piece of salmon. My husband had a steak which was cooked nicely but flavor wise, it was nothing special. His plate had the saddest looking vegetables accompanying it. Which for the price, felt unacceptable. We tried a couple of the desserts and they were good and felt upscale, which matched the price and the vibe of the restaurant. Bottom line... don't waste your money here. My broccolini was undercooked, the halibut was overcooked, and the rice that accompanied the dish was bland. Everything needed salt. My wife's salmon was pretty rare in the middle....like sushi rare, not medium rare as stated. For the price, there are about 20 other places I would rather go. The restaurants hours are from 5pm to 11pm. Go to the bathroom BEFORE you sit down as there is no bathroom in the restaurant. I highly recommend making a reservation. I did not, but was able to snag a table at the open. The staff was super nice and very accommodating. The food was really good. I would def come back here for a meal. Food was rather blah - tiny clams in an underwhelming broth, over salted salmon served with reedy asparagus that had almost no flavor, and corn fritters that were flat and dry. We've been to the Blackfish many times and have never been disappointed. Although like other places, prices have increased. The ambiance is nice with tasteful Pacific Northwest decor. Services is always top notch. Our favorite items to order are: crab cakes, Cesar salad, Heritage salmon (medium rare), and the halibut with pesto sauce. This place knows how to cook their seafood! Birthday celebration ! We both had steak and lobster. Both were large servings which was pleasantly surprised with costs of things lately. Steak cooked to my liking perfectly as well as hubs. Quite loud, sitting at the center tables. We have eaten here before, sat in booth, much better for conversation. Very nice, moody dark interior design. The Dungeness crab Mac and cheese was AMAZING. It was pretty cheese but the vegetables on the side were good to break up the flavor a bit. They're also very generous with the amount of crab meat added. I also ordered the raspberry brookie for dessert. I enjoyed the raspberry flavored ice cream and the cakey texture of the brownie bottom. But, I couldn't taste the white chocolate chips that were added. This used to be our favorite spot for dinner, but after the remodel, the menu changed, and we didn't enjoy it as much. They used to offer a mix-and-match option where you could choose a protein, how it's prepared and two sides, but that's gone, and the overall selection feels more limited. Note: The menu they show online is from July 2024, and it's now February 2025. They also didn't have fish and chips, though I understand that's due to halibut being out of season. Hopefully, they'll bring back the original menu--if they do, we'd love to return. read more

I've eaten at Black Fish a few times and had a great experience. Last night was unfortunately subpar. My husband's steak was more medium than mediocre rare, but he said it was tender so he ate it. I ordered the Seafood Bowl which I've enjoyed in the past. The server asked how everything was and I could only say 'ok'. The salmon was way overcooked so she brought me a new piece which was cooked fabulously. I then tried the shrimp which was rubbery/ overcooked. I didn't want to complain again so just pushed it aside and took it home to my dogs. Again everything was ok but not what I wanted to pay $200 for. Probably won't be back for a while read more

Blackfish is one of the nicer sit down restaurants that you can dine at inside the Tulalip casino. There is a variety of seafood dishes with some steak options as well. The food was decent but I would not dine here again since the prices were not worth the food quality. Food I got the prime New York steak with potato chunks and asparagus, and the Caesar salad. The steak was overall good. The meat was cooked perfectly to medium rare as I had requested, but crust was lacking. Meat quality was good. The demi-glaze sauce was to my liking and made the steak much better. Asparagus and potatoes are great accompanying sides. The Caesar salad was surprising when I first saw it because the lettuce wasn't cut yet. They were artistically put through a croutons ring and made the dish presentable. Atmosphere The interior is nice and the seats were comfortable. It is not too dark inside and the noise level was not loud for a Saturday dinner. However I do know they were limiting seating due to constraint staffing. Pricing My main issue with this place is the expensive prices of the menu for the quality of food that I got. The New York steak (though it was prime) was $66. I feel like I could get a better cooked steak at an actual steakhouse for that price. Service The service was good and the staff was friendly. We made reservations since we were seeing a show here and wanted to start it off with a nice meal. We ordered oysters, clam chowder, Caesar salads and the salmon platter. I wasn't impressed with any of it. The chowder had a consistently of refried beans and could be eaten with a fork. Many Caesar salads suffer from being over dressed. This one was underdressed. Oysters were good but truly the smallest oysters I've ever seen! One half of the booth had spilled wine our friends unfortunately sat. Our server was amazing though. read more

The best thing I ate here was probably the rolls and butter. I was looking at all the different restaurants online and decided to go for this one. The menus online do not include price tags. When we sat down, we noticed there aren't that many options and all the dinner entrees were all about $50. We ordered: shrimp cocktail ($16) times 2, New York Strip ($65) times 2, filet mignon ($53)and lobster mac ($50). With drinks and tip, it was easily a $400plus meal. I am not really a steak person so I was the one that opted for the lobster Mac and cheese. $50 for mac and cheese better be totally worth it. It was good, but didn't knock my socks off. My husband had the New York (ordered rare) and he said the steak itself was kind of dry but he enjoyed the mushrooms. Overall the food was good and the pricing is high but justifiable. The ambiance is fancy, you can see them grilling items through the glass window. The part we were unhappy with the most was, the service felt very rushed. Our waitress did make sure we had what we needed but she lacked being that friendly. At one point, when my friend and I were talking, she interrupted mid conversation and said "want a box?" Almost insinuating to hurry up and leave. I understand that there is a 90 minute limit at the table but we were under that time. I was happy we actually ended up enjoying our food since our bill was $156! My husbands Mac & Cheese was my favorite dish of the night. Lots of flavor with fresh pieces of crab in it. My meal was very good as well but the shrimp was a bit greasy and I had grease on my plate from it. I should have ordered the grilled garlic shrimp. The bread you receive when your waiting was delicious! It went well with my salad that I ordered before my meal. Our waitress was great, they did a have a 2 hour wait when we arrived but we were able to sit in the bar right away since it was only 2 of us so it was perfect. I enjoyed my birthday dinner with my husband. Yes it was expensive but I think it's a great spot for a special occasion. Plus my husband won $160 at the tables so it paid for our dinner! Ate her on Mothers Day. Had a 5 :30 reservation and was able to be seated at 5:15. It is super dark inside and very hard to read the menu. I had to get my cell phone out and turn on the flashlight to read the menu. We ordered French Onion Soup and The Chowder to start. Recieved that abou 15 to to 20 min after being seated. Both dishes were very good. I ordered the NY Steak which was excellent. Was a bit under cooked but it was still edible. Husband had the filet mignon was was over cooked. Still tasted good though. The issue we had was the time to get our meal. We ordered at 5 20 p.m., and did not get meal until 6:30'ish. Took forever.. Staff was apologetic however i feel like more should have been done. we really enjoy coming to this place! The fish and chips are amazing and while overpriced, everything on the menu is pretty good. We come here a lot and get the Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail. Crab cakes are decent (a tad dry) and the steaks are cooked to perfection (the way you'd like it of course). Service has always been excellent and when the restaurant is packed, there is a 4 seat alternative outside of the bar that is on the casino floor that you can take advantage of, if available. I've plopped down there a few times when the place was either packed or on a wait list. One thing I will not order again, is the dungeness crab. They boiled it a bit too long, and while I assume it was fresh, it was really dry. I could take a risk and order it again and then ask them to not boil it so long. If you are looking for similar food and are on a budget, I would suggest going to Cedars Cafe. They do a fine job there too. read more

1 glass Pinot gris + 1 ceasar salad + Seafood bowl entree + tip = $100. Minus 1 star because it was too dark and loud for my liking. I felt like I was shouting so the person in front of me could hear me. The ceasar salad was delicious. The romaine leaves were left long and had a lot of dressing on them which I enjoyed. The crouton ring was interesting. I get it's for presentation but was too much work for it being a crouton. The seafood bowl was delicious and the portion was generous in comparison to other entrees in my party. The bisque was tasty but didn't overpower the flavors of the fish or shellfish. The potatoes were a nice addition. I appreciated that the dish came with a towelette to clean my hands. The bread basket was OK. The butter was sweet - not like an unsalted butter kind of sweet but more like they whipped it with sugar. Not my fave. I wanted dessert but was stuffed at the end of the meal. The checks came with a small chocolate baked soft cookie thing which was a nice way to end the meal instead of a full dessert. You could really taste the cocoa in the cookie. Overall, 8.5/10. I'd go back and get the exact same meal again and hope to get dessert as well! read more

Being from AZ, my expectation for any "$$$$" rated seafood/steakhouse is Mastro's Ocean Club. This is NOT the Ocean Club, but it's trying it's best for a non-Vegas Casino. The ambiance is lovely, the open flame of the kitchen adds an intimate touch, and we were greeted immediately. My King Crab app was buttery smooth and the remoulade was delicious! Yes, it was a bit shocking to pay $33 for 1 small strip of crab meat - not 1 claw, not 1 gargantuan single leg.... 1 small strip. I understand, and the plate was nicely designed, but it was a little underwhelming at first. Bread basket with softened butter was appreciated. Caesar salad was simple, fresh, and well-prepared. They appear to have added some lower-priced items to combat the complaints about price, but the menu could certainly use a little clarification. There is no king crab entree, but I can add king or snow crab legs to a different entree? Huh? I had been hoping to order something like a Seafood Tower, full of Maine lobster & Alaskan crab, dripping with butter and lemon juice... instead I got a Dungeness crab that I may have seen eating trash on Alki Beach last week... it was okay. Again, not the Ocean Club. My server knew my wants and she went to the chef to "ensure that there would be a claw" present on my plate. At $90 per plate, it should already be there. Our enthusiastic and friendly server made up the difference. I wish I remembered her name, brunette with a big personality. She took our table from a struggling server with poise and a smile. Food and atmosphere is generally really good. I personally stay away from the red meat generally when I order, I've always found them to be the master of the sea and a puppet of the pasture. Prices are always on the higher side, but we always go back because options for fine dining are limited in the area and consistent great seafood options always interest me. It's also one of the few places if you sit in the back or sides, where I don't feel like I'm in the casino. If prices were about 20% lower and steaks done to perfection I would gladly give them 5 stars. Thanks Blackfish read more

First time eating at this steakhouse and I've lived in Marysville Arlington area for 25 years. A buddy and I grabbed a quick dinner there last night Cinco de Mayo May 5. Obvious pretty busy night out for dinner the wait at the Asian restaurant on the other side of the casino was 90 minutes and we were able to be seated immediately at the bar at the steakhouse which had full menu open for bar seating. I ordered the $65 New York steak medium rare and it came medium rare I give them credit for proper cooking of the steak. Side potatoes and asparagus and that was pretty much the entire $65 dinner. If you're gonna charge that much for a non-dry aged steak you should at least be serving prime beef which this clearly was not, because it was not that tender and I spit out more than a few bites of grisley tendon. It would also serve you and your restaurant to at least offer up a simple side salad with someone's dinner when you're charging these kind of prices. I've ate at a lot of Michelin rated four-star steak restaurants this is barely above Outback Steakhouse quality steak. The dining experience is obviously much better than outback. I would definitely not return for steak or likely anything else on the menu. the whole area of the bar where we sat also had a really funky smell that I just couldn't nail down it just was not a real pleasant odor. First time in about 10 years I've been in the casino it was nice to see that it's gone non-smoking inside. My buddy got halibut and chips and he shared with me was pretty decent tasting, cooked properly. I think it was around 35 or $40 wishing I had got the same and saved $25-30 on the steak that I didn't enjoy that much especially due to the ultra sweet sauce that was on top of it mixed in with the mushrooms it was just too sweet tasting for a steak and it was drenched all over there was no avoiding it. But this business will continue to thrive just due to the fact it's in the casino and you have a captive audience. Step up your game and either served dry aged or prime beef for the prices you're charging. Service by the bartender and everyone else we encountered was top notch so I do give them credit for that. it's just that they're serving an over priced inferior product. read more

This is one of the best seafood restaurants in the region. I can't give it five stars because of its location deep in the heart of the smokey casino, but otherwise it's a five star place. Blackfish serves an amazing array of bounty from the sea. They flawlessly execute every dish on the menu, and everything I've ever had from here has been delicious. The decor is top notch. It's a comfortable and clean (other than the cigarette smoke filled air just out the front door) space. The open, show kitchen makes for a memorable night--especially with the main grill right up front where you can watch with fascination as great seafood cooks before you and the techniques often lead to big leaps of flames. Captivating theater of food. There's really not anything negative to say about Blackfish, other than its location. But I suspect that location is the reason that allows a top notch restaurant like this to exist in the desolation of Marysville. If you are in the area (even just passing through) and want top notch seafood, go to Blackfish. read more

Been here many times after and the service and food gets better. I believe it's because you start to know the bartender/server so everything seems much smoother after awhile. I always sit at the bar with my back facing the casino. The service at the bar is faster and food gets to you as soon as it comes up. I will always recommend this place. read more

Never been to a casino, this is my first casino experience. Spent some money there but only won 3 cents. So needed some food to cheer me up. I was craving for salmon but I wasn't too hungry so I ordered an appetizer, it's smoked salmon with deep fried bread. I personally think the breads were too greasy and tasted like asian style bread stick with congee. Salmon are great, not much to complain, but it's too much if I have to finish it myself. The rib tasted good and seasoned well, meat were tendered. So I would recommend this dish, however since it's a seafood restaurant, it will be more fun if you get seafood there. Also, I have to mention cheese crackers, LOVED IT! They pair with 3 different butter. I feel like that's a great idea than bread. My friend and I wouldn't stop eating it. read more

We had an early Valentine's Day dinner here and weren't really impressed, given the price tag. We had reservations at 5:15 via Open Table, but showed up when they opened up at 5 and were seated without issue, which I appreciated. Once inside, the interior did not feel very upscale and it was surprisingly noisy, nevermind the rude people in neighboring booths (having a phone conversation on speakerphone in front of us, watching videos on their phone with the volume up behind us). Even when that eventually stopped, noise just carries in here, I guess. I did enjoy watching the salmon being cooked over flame through the kitchen windows but the atmosphere in here simply didn't live up to my romantic date night expectations or the eventual triple digit price tag. We started our meal with a few appetizers. The crab cakes (2) were okay, the smoked salmon sampler was unique - one was delicious (I think the coho? but don't quote me), one was kind of fishy, and one was a little too 'wet' for my preferences. Though I didn't enjoy them all, I don't expect to with a sampler and still thought that was a fun addition to the menu. We also ordered the roasted clams - this was our favorite app of the night. You are also served a bread basket when first seated - it wasn't anything special but it's always nice when it's offered, and they even asked if we wanted more while waiting for our entrees. The butter was strangely sweet? Service was fine, and our waitress seemed to be knowledgeable about the dishes she served. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon, it was fine. He wasn't thrilled with his sides (roasted potatoes, broccolini) and he wasn't given a choice like the online menu says. We have absolutely had better steaks elsewhere, and for less money even! (Shout out to Francisco's in Lake Stevens!!) The best thing we ordered was hands down my crab mac and cheese. I think it could have used a little more crab for the price ($50) but it was fair. I am a huge mac and cheese lover and order it wherever I see it on the menu - usually I am disappointed so I was pleased (and shocked!) when I really liked this one. It even came with asparagus and other assorted veggies on the side which was unexpected and appreciated. I was beyond stuffed by the end of our meal but had to order a piece of chocolate cake to-go which they were able to accommodate for me. I haven't tried it yet though! (Update: tasty, and a generous portion! Dessert bumps my rating to 3.5 stars.) Our meal came to a little over $200 after tip. Even though this place is an easy drive for us, the atmosphere, high price point for mainly just okay dishes, and limited menu, will probably stop us from returning. While the menu is less seafood focused, I honestly find the quality of food at Cedars Cafe (also located inside the casino) to be comparable, and it's cheaper with a better dining area! Although I ultimately don't recommend Black Fish as a whole (too casual for a date night, too expensive for a casual dinner), if you are interested in the crab mac and cheese, I would recommend that dish specifically. read more

Well another one bites the dust, this was my go-to place to celebrate my birthday and anniversaries over the past seven years. The food was always amazing and always surprising but yesterday was my birthday, and I was more than disappointed in my favorite place. The bread chewy, seemed as if it had been microwaved we missed the flatbread, of course, the seafood bowl which used to be the bounty bowl was very put together sloppy some of the shellfish seemed uncooked, and the prawns way over cooked, and I ordered some crab on the side. It was bad I had to spit it out. They brought more crab and that was bad too. I had to send it back. Nothing about my meal was even close to satisfactory I left hungry and sad, and I won't be returning. I would give it less than one star if I had that option. read more

We waited 25 minutes after we were sat down to get our waitress over to get our drinks order. The menu has less items on it. The steak was not as good.
