Their Italian dinner menu is overpriced for the amount of food you get. $21 for a small plate of spaghetti bolognese! It tasted good but It isn't a dinner portion. read more

We enjoyed an assortment of perfectly prepared starters and a delicious salad for dinner. The steak tartare was incredible! Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this culinary treat in Wallace, ID. read more

Very accommodating. We showed up 45 min before close. They found us a seat. We had two pasta dishes and shared a salad. Everything was tasty and presented well. We went back the next night for shakes and carrot cake. A 5/5 kind of place. read more

Fantastic food reminiscent of North end Boston or New York. Unbelievable in Idaho. I had the Lemon Chicken, she Chicken Alfredo. Both were delicious to the very last bite. And! It's right next to the center of the universe! read more

Umm, walked in the door on a Tuesday at 1215 only to be greeted by waitress telling us they are closed for a little bit and to come back later??? Then restated as we turned around to walk out (as she was shooing is out the door..), "we're closed until further notice, yeah." She could not get us out the door fast enough. This was 75 minutes after they opened for service and had most of the tables seated and eating WTH! Stopped by Saturday the 1st of September only to find the town slammed and no place to park (hauling a 40ft 5th wheel). Figured we would try again on our way back from Yellowstone, and were able to find a parking space finally, only to get that reception when we walked in the door - after being on road for last 5 hrs. Guess we will take this place off our list of meal stops. Very disappointed!! read more

Well we happened by this cute little bakery, and man am I glad we did. They have delicious Strawberry cake...give it a try. I got the Cornef beef sandwich for $6 and it was amazing, all I could eat! read more

Fine food delivered by arrogant servers. I've had better service in truck stops. I asked to taste two wines and my server didn't know which was which and when asked said "I don't know."Second, I ask for a salad? "Greens", a Cesar is delivered With vinaigrette. No warning from server that recipe has been changed from menu, and finally, desert. I asked about desert and was brought hand written menu. The server abruptly drops it and walks away. I said "Miss" and her partner shows up and asks "If I can read It?" Her hand writing was fine and of course I could read it. But he reads three items turns and walks away . I was only going to ask about a few details. Busy or not-poor service. Bottom line- poor review, less check to owner, and 1/2 tip to server. I guess they don't care. Eat at nearness truck stop-the service will be better. Tom Campbell read more

Blackboard Cafe was recommended to us by a local. We had a large group and they were accommodating of that. The sandwich was good (I had the turkey) But I docked stars because: 2 people ordered the Black & Blue burger, but got the normal cheeseburger. It took them a few bites to realize there were pickles and raw onion, which wasn't listed on the Black & Blue. They asked about it to let her know their cook had messed up both orders and the waitress seemed indifferent to them getting her wrong order. One person is intolerant to onions and made that clear when they ordered. She tasted onions on her sandwich and when she said something, the waitress insisted it didn't have onions. Even if they sandwich didn't have onions, if the cook didn't clean the utensils or grill after cooking onions, it will cause problems. Because the waitress was so insistent it wasn't an issue, she continued eating, and did get sick that night so that confirmed onions were there. Also, we had to ask for napkins and silverware. Sandwiches might be finger food but napkins are pretty standard to have when you eat. And lastly, for $12, the sandwiches are over priced. They were good, but considering the size and limited options for sides, $12 is pretty steep. read more

Not at all stingy with the bacon, so delicious, we had a party of 5 with all different meals & we loved it all. Meals average 10 but well worth it & could easily be split between 2 people. read more

Amazing meal. Great pasta primavera. Good vibes all around. We sat outside and our dog joined us. Friendly and caring staff.

The best restaurant in Wallace (and many of the others are good, too.) Fresh, interesting food. They appear to make everything from scratch. Pleasant, attentive service and good prices. Worth stopping in the great town of Wallace. read more

Went for hubbys birthday What a dissapointment! For the ptice they charge they need to improve their presentation. My cup of soup was served in a bowl, that made the portion look very small, the soup was cold and what i would expect for cauliflower soup. It was more of a sauce than soup. I am gluten free, so i asked if vegies or rice could be substituted for pasta? No only potatoes. My meal came soaked in some kind grease saucepotatoes were pan fried, and they had the texture of being frozen. The chicken was a cheap piece of frozen meat you would get out of a Costco bag. The waitress was new and suffering from foot pain and did not know anything. she could use some lessons on how to be more personable. Hubby had the rib-eye, nothing special, very fatty, Needless to say, next time we come to lookout pass to ski, we will go somewhere else for dinner. read more

Absolutely wonderful, period. Seated at the bar for Valentines Day, by reservation! The bar is the place to sit to eat pasta, btw--closer to the plate. Eat here if you have the opportunity. read more

Get the ribeye sandwich!!! One of the best sandwiches that I have had anywhere on the planet. Salads are also superb. We are going to be pulling off I-90 to have lunch here every chance we get. read more

Oh my goodness. What a great find. Random pull off from 90. We couldn't find the restaurant advertised on the highway exit sign so we stopped to ask a couple ladies standing by their car chatting and they recommended this place. The steak and alfredo is to die for and my husband asked if he could give the chicken marsala 6 stars on Yelp. And Tina was so helpful and friendly. If we could give them more stars we would. read more

I signed up for the Yelp app just to be able to sing the praises of this hidden gem. Best food and service I've had in a long while. This place is the total package. Took the family here by accident. 7:30p on a Friday night in Wallace, you don't want to be too picky (right?). Wow we're we surprised. Dishes were clearly prepared with skill and joy. My wife ordered the small plates to be able to get a little of "this and that". Meatballs in fresh marinara: total hit. Grilled shrimp skewer: total hit. Meat and cheese tray: out of the park. I did fish and chips which was perfectly prepared. Even the tartar sauce was fresh and I would guess was made from scratch. My youngest ordered the fettuccine Alfredo chicken which was amazing. My oldest had kids mac and cheese which was nothing short of spectacular. Literally everything we had was the best of the best. Pricing was very reasonable in our opinion. $120 before tip and we were happy to pay it. The server was friendly, prompt, and on her game (Louann, sp?) This was Idaho hospitality at its finest. read more

Terrific food and service. We have eaten here for lunch as well as dinner. Note to travelers. They will let you bring your dog in. Even have biscuits and water for them. We definitely plan our back and forth journeys from Montana to the Seattle area with this place in mind as a rest stop read more

Casual, welcoming atmosphere, open kitchen and dining area. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, as I looked around as plates came fresh out of the kitchen, made me want to ask other diners what they ordered, but I refrained. Reservations are recommended by the business. We were able to call shortly after 5 and snag a 5:30 reservation for 2 just ahead of their dinner rush. Homemade fresh pastas. I enjoyed the Pasta Bolognese. read more

I have heard all the good reviews and drooled over the menu descriptions and pictures online for too long. It was a winter storm warning so I figured it wouldn't be too busy. We were the only ones in the place and it was AMAZING! I got the mesquite turkey and my husband got the shrimp po boy. I wish I could eat here for lunch every day. They are moving to a bigger space and they need it. Excited to try more things on the menu. Before I forget! Our waitress 1/10/20 was super sweet and good at her job. Brought out books for the kids. I can't believe I never wrote this review. We stopped in for lunch on our way home from Spokane to Missoula about a year and a half ago and it was ah-mazing!! Sadly all I can remember is that I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, but not any ole grilled cheese. No, this one was made on crusty grilled sour dough and filled with oozing, melted Brie and cheddar, and there was a third, maybe havarti? The amount of cheesy deliciousness can't be quantified properly, maybe that's why I never wrote this review? Anyway, there was also bacon jam involved! Right?! I need say no more....go to Wallace. read more

My wife and I stopped at this place on our way through Idaho. What a little gem! They were packed but squeezed us in. The food was amazing. One of the cutest (aka tiny) little restaurants I've been to. The Italian salad was yummy with pepperdew in it. I had to look up pepperdew since I've never had it. It was the perfect addition. My husband had the Italian sandwich-definitely big enough to share and my daughter had the shrimp PO' boy. I had a bite of both and they were both delicious. The server was very nice and chatty, overall a great experience. If I'm ever up in Wallace, ID again I would definitely try it again! read more

Fun and bustling small cafe that also has great baked goods. We had a burger, a grilled cheese, a kids meal, and two fall salads. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly. Would have rated a 5 except the fall salads were quite small for $10.00, as if they might have been half portions. read more
