I signed up for the Yelp app just to be able to sing the praises of this hidden gem. Best food and service I've had in a long while. This place is the total package. Took the family here by accident. 7:30p on a Friday night in Wallace, you don't want to be too picky (right?). Wow we're we surprised. Dishes were clearly prepared with skill and joy. My wife ordered the small plates to be able to get a little of "this and that". Meatballs in fresh marinara: total hit. Grilled shrimp skewer: total hit. Meat and cheese tray: out of the park. I did fish and chips which was perfectly prepared. Even the tartar sauce was fresh and I would guess was made from scratch. My youngest ordered the fettuccine Alfredo chicken which was amazing. My oldest had kids mac and cheese which was nothing short of spectacular. Literally everything we had was the best of the best. Pricing was very reasonable in our opinion. $120 before tip and we were happy to pay it. The server was friendly, prompt, and on her game (Louann, sp?) Everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, as I looked around as plates came fresh out of the kitchen, made me want to ask other diners what they ordered, but I refrained. I have heard all the good reviews and drooled over the menu descriptions and pictures online for too long. It was a winter storm warning so I figured it wouldn't be too busy. We were the only ones in the place and it was AMAZING! I got the mesquite turkey and my husband got the shrimp po boy. I wish I could eat here for lunch every day. I can't believe I never wrote this review. We stopped in for lunch on our way home from Spokane to Missoula about a year and a half ago and it was ah-mazing!! Sadly all I can remember is that I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, but not any ole grilled cheese. No, this one was made on crusty grilled sour dough and filled with oozing, melted Brie and cheddar, and there was a third, maybe havarti? The amount of cheesy deliciousness can't be quantified properly, maybe that's why I never wrote this review? Anyway, there was also bacon jam involved! Right?! One of the cutest (aka tiny) little restaurants I've been to. The Italian salad was yummy with pepperdew in it. I had to look up pepperdew since I've never had it. It was the perfect addition. My husband had the Italian sandwich-definitely big enough to share and my daughter had the shrimp PO' boy. I had a bite of both and they were both delicious. What a sweet surprise! Driving through what we figured nowheresvile, ID we accidentally encountered this gem in the tiny (yet not overly humble) town of Wallace. Located in what appears to be In historic downtown, it's a tiny cafe with big flavors and a warm ambiance. Yelp's Description of "sandwiches, Italian" doesn't scratch the surface and honestly gave me second thoughts because a huge fan of neither. However when we walked in and were warmly welcomed even though we arrived 30 minutes before close, my worries disappeared. The menu and wines are primarily Italian but also contain American dishes. We split the fall salad and ordered the meatball app. For dinner I ordered the ribeye and hubs for the lasagna. My steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and my husband said the lasagna was the best he's had In years (notable because we just returned from 3 weeks in Italy!). Though we didn't get dessert we were completely satisfied and happy as clams. The owner was kind and friendly while serving us, and a very talented artist to boot. Life is too short to have a bad meal, and small Towns are hit or miss as far as decent food is concerned..so I consider stumbling upon a place as good as this a victory! read more

Looked Like an awesome place. People were very polite as they told us they wouldn't serve my family because it was too big. We have 7 children so we were a party of 9. There was already a party of 14 in the restaurant as well as multiple others.I told them We could break into two parties of 5 and 4 and they said it was too many people. I asked them about the other party of 4 waiting in front of us and they said they were already waiting. I asked for a manager and the owner was called in. I explained to him I didn't understand telling us you won't serve us rather than just give us the expected wait and let us decide if we were willing to wait. He fixed the issue and apologized after acting put out and explaining he wasn't working and it "really isn't my thing". Then my daughter informed me before he walked in he walked past her and exclaimed "they are really F***ing pissing me off". I was very cordial, and only walked in to take my family out to dinner. What I found was inept people who don't know how to run a restaurant, manage a rush, or be just plain normal. I'm sure a party of two walking in will have an entirely different experience. But this is who your dealing with. I called back as a courtesy and told them they could take our name off the wait. My wife felt very unwelcome and we decided our $200 plus dollars would go down the street where we were welcomed with open arms at muchachos tacos. read more

Stopped by here on the way back from a hike near Mullan. Restaurant has a great vibe and service was excellent. But the star was the ribeye sandwich my wife and I both ordered. The sandwich is shaved ribeye, cheese, and some other accompaniments--and is absolutely delicious. Didn't try any other sandwich but if they are even close to as good as good as ribeye then they will be excellent too. Highly recommend. read more

In the middle of nowhere, in northern Idaho I tripped over this little café with my family. Everything about it was a great experience. I judge a restaurant not just by how well they cook but how will they handle their failures. I ordered spaghetti with sausage meatballs for my three young boys and the sausage meatballs came out way too spicy for them to eat. The restaurant staff was absolutely amazing, And offered about three other options for my kids. Everything my wife and I had was spectacular, the wine was great and not too expensive and they had some really great desserts as well. This is a restaurant you expect to find in Seattle and I'm glad to see little Wallace Idaho has something of this caliber when I come visit. read more
