My friend who teaches at selenite let me know afterward that they aren't allowed to teach if there's less than 3 people signed up for any given class...the studio management should have an eye on class sign up so that people don't show up uninformed that the class is actually cancelled. I signed up 2 days before the class and no email, no text, nothing from selenite. I cancelled the second and third class I had scheduled. I emailed about getting credits or a refund back for the inconvenience...crickets. I will not be returning.

I tend to be hard to please when it comes to pole dance classes. Rockstar studio caught my attention after seeing one of their teachers on Instagram. I have attended several other studios in the Denver area and none have been as good as this spot. Every class I have taken in this studio has been great. Knowledgeable teachers, friendly, welcoming students and an amazing staff! They have a great mix of technical classes where you can learn pole tricks as well as "flow" classes where you can learn dance choreography and most of them have that "sensual" vibe that a pole class SHOULD have and so many places lack! No matter where you are in your pole journey I definitely recommend that you check this place out! You will absolutely love it.

Spoiler alert: After a few classes, I was at ease, finding my new pole home. I was in Denver for a convention, so I signed up for a few classes in my spare time. First was a class taught by Greyce. Another was by Brian. Both were phenomenal... Fundamentals focused on floorwork and movement, which gave me more confidence to dance. Spin pole was a little too much because of the altitude sickness (my bad for not realizing) so I'd give it a few weeks or months before trying the class again when I move. Love the variety of classes that are offered and the attitude of the students that come. Parking is plentiful on the street, which I'm stoked about because we don't currently have a car in San Francisco. I can't identify anything about Tease I didn't like. Even their social media team is fun and responsive. All that to say, I'm excited to join the community in 2020!

This made me more late. Real, the instructor, was great & she has legs for days lol. She invited me to take class the next day, but I had concert plans. I learned a piece that's been retaught, but didn't mind it since it was my 1st "chairography" class, but I've taken sexy/heels classes before. I was heels-less because I didn't pack any, but shoes weren't required. I enjoyed the warm-up, choreography, tricks, & extra time at the end. "Tease me please".

The restroom is accessible through either of those rooms and they let you walk through the rooms (during classes if needed) to get to the restroom. The mirror in the studio I went to (class was Melt with Amy) was huge and helpful. There was plenty of space in the class for all the students signed up to space out. I was able to sign up in advance using Classpass (thanks for the accessible booking option for travelers!) Melt is like a floorwork choreo class and it was fun and slinky and ooey gooey.

She took the time to show us correct hand and feet positions to prevent injuries and ensure smooth transitions between moves. I like that the Tabata (high intensity) aerobic workouts are 15 minutes and the weight lifting is 30. I can get a great workout in less than an hour.

Parts of my review below are cut from my Columbine location review, but they still stand. Two YEARS of going to the gym on a fairly regular basis is huge for me... The music is more geared to adults (30s, 40s) than the 20s, but most of the clientle is in that age group or older anyway. Every employee I've met (pretty sure I'm met them all at this point) is so friendly and helpful, and they all work to be able to great you by name when you come in. HUGE plus: It does not smell like a gym. It's very spa like and peaceful, actually. There are no locker rooms but the restroom is big enough to do a quick change if you have to come there in street clothes. The pricing may be a negative to some, but if you are serious about strength training, you'd be using a personal trainer at a cheaper gym at least occasionally. At Koko, you have the smartrainer pacing you every time, coming up with a new lifting plan every time, and the staff is there to check if you have form problems. Your strength gains are re-evaluated every 12 lifting sessions to keep you on track for continued gains. This is not circuit training, where you have to wait for a machine and it takes twice as long to complete your workout. All strength training is done on ONE machine. Love it! There is no childcare available, so if you have little ones you have to bring with you this won't be the gym for you. I am lucky in that mine are old enough to stay home so I can have an hour of "me" time at the gym
