A beautiful theatre, and for the right show, worth dealing with downtown Phoenix parking.

We went to watch The Phoenix Symphony performing with Troupe Vertigo: Cirque Carmen. It was a magnificent combination of orchestral music with aerial acts, dance, and circus style performances. The seats were very comfortable and the quality of acoustics was fantastic. Make sure you take a clear bag or a small purse (8.5" x 5.5") as they do have a bag policy. Large purses and backpacks are not allowed. They also use metal detectors and have security screening. I'd definitely love to go see another performance here.

Definitely an interesting experience, but I admit straight away that this experience is a little…read morepricey. I like the fact that there are daring enough to challenge the audience with nudity (both male and female) in a very tasteful artistic way and I'd give them high regard for that. It honestly reminds me a lot of what the Greeks used to do through the history of their plays and performances. There were a few minor things that I had disagreements about when I went. First off it may have just been that performance but the play I attended just didn't see them that well written. Again it could've been a bad play on this attendance and it doesn't mean I won't give it another chance to see if the writing of gotten a little better. On a positive side, it was good to see them use actors who are new to the acting experience to get them seasoning. So when you go you will definitely see local upcoming talent on stage. The other negative part I have was the sound quality. They had to use headset with microphone which I thought took away from the experience of watching one on stage. There are a lot of feedback issues, dropped sound quality, and the likes which took away from the experience. I think though this too could be rectified with a little work backstage for the next time. I would like to go again and see what they have to offer. Definitely This place gives you a whole new perspective to the idea of theater which I think is a good idea. It is a pricey ticket though so be forewarned.

The show was fabulous and we all really enjoyed it (even my teens who complained about going to a show in the first place) We found the theatre itself easy to access and scored a great parking spot even though we arrived just about 10 minutes before the show was set to start. It said 7:30 start time but probably started closer to 7:45. Tickets were waiting at will call as requested and all of the staff working that evening were super friendly. At the performance we saw, the role of Evan, normally played by Mason Ballard, was played by his understudy, Daniel Shain Graf and he did an excellent job as did the rest of the actors. We purchased some refreshments at intermission, which were very overpriced, but that is to be expected at all entertainment venues these days. Thanks to all of the companies and individuals who contribute to the arts to keep this theatre company going... we will definitely be back!

Today, I attended the Herberger lunchtime theater for the first time and am hooked already! Each…read moreseason is five months and five shows. They run 1-2 weeks each, Mon thru Thur, start at 12:10 in the afternoon, and are less than one hour long. You can even prepay for lunch, provided by the nextdoor neighbor, Huss Brewing, to be waiting for you as you arrive in the theater. Show tickets are only $10 each. Lunch is only $12, and you pick from a dew different sandwiches or salads, and each one includes chips and a cookie. I would suggest arriving 10 or more mounties early so that you can enjoy your lunch without feeling disruptive to the play. I saw The Moment, which is running one more time, tomorrow at 12:10. It's a play, in progress. It's only one act so far and is in the works, so it was fun to be a part of it and to hang around afterward to give feedback to the writer. The play is about how Barack Obama announces his run for president and how that affects a Washington DC black family and the trajectory of their lives. I cried and also enjoyed the group of elderly black women sitting behind me as they giggled over handsome younger photos of President Obama and how they commented on historical events that they themselves lived through. It was a moving moment to be a part of.

I've been here recently now for 2 shows that I would call nontraditional, but man, they were great shows, and I had such a blast. The layout of the theater is great. I was on the 1st level for one show and on the 2nd level for the 2nd one. Despite being on the 2nd level, it still gave a personal feel and kept us engaged. If you don't like heights, make sure to arrive early to get in the lower level, as once you're on the upper level, it does go shallow & up. Getting cocktails from the bar downstairs typically has a long line, but if you go upstairs, there's usually another make-shift bar to help offset it. I didn't take advantage of any parking, as I used a ride service to the venue, as I just wanted to get dropped off at the door. It's hit or miss with parking, especially if there is something going on at the arena (basketball, concert, baseball game, etc...) Looking forward to the next event.

The parking was easy as there is a garage nearby and the staff at Tempe Center for the Arts were happy to validate the parking voucher to waive the fee. The sound was great and we thought the seats were very comfortable. We would definitely return to Tempe Center for the Arts for future performances or events.

They have food, drinks, and alcohol available too. The chairs aren't the comfiest, so beware haha, but it's not terrible, at least they have chairs! it does give the feel if it was built in the 50's though! Haha Such a fun and unique venue! Pretty upset. Came to Celebrity Theater to see Justin Wilman and were turned away at 7:53. They said the doors were closed by Netflix and Justin Wilman at 7:52 and that they were also given last minute notice as well. Also, the parking lot to Celebrity Theatre has several open spots while the parking lot next to them was looking pretty sparse. Why have so much open parking spaces? We did not see or receive notice that we had to be at the theater at a specific time - only that the doors open at 7pm. Given that information, we figured if we showed up a bit later, we wouldn't have to wait in line. This screwed us up terribly. This was completely terrible service and I will not be supporting Justin Wilman (we've been huge fans of his since 2021...maybe even before then as our daughter who is now 11 loves him....and saw him last year when he came to Tempe... again due to when the doors opened we waited in the hot hot Phoenix heat for about 45 min before making it inside...which again IS WHY WE WAITED TO ARRIVE SO FREAKING LATE). It's sad because we literally were raving about Justin at our dinner with a group of 12 that were all coming to see him. More than half of the group for the first time would be seeing him. If he is familiar with NPS, he'll know he and the venue are a 1/10. Never again. Celebrity Theatre needs to also give MORE detailed information on when doors are closing. I will never come to this venue again nor attempt to purchase tickets to see Justin again. Also, what BS is it that we were told by the parking attendants that we would be let in and were not.

I let that go at the time, assuming it was an isolated issue. Unfortunately, I am now having a similar and even more concerning experience. I recently purchased tickets for an upcoming production and only discovered that the company is listed as "temporarily closed" when I visited the website to confirm the address. No notification was ever sent to inform ticket holders that the production would no longer be taking place. Since learning this, I have reached out multiple times to request information about when I would receive a refund for my ticket. To date, I have received no response. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service is extremely disappointing. Customers should not have to actively investigate whether a paid event is still happening, nor should they be left without responses regarding refunds for canceled productions.

I've also attended their annual Die Hard Christmas and The Princess Bride. This is an adult puppet show with adult humor. The actors are so creative and the puppets are each so unique. It is a small venue, so all seats are great seats. They serve cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks as well as snacks. Don't accidently go to Phoenix Theater when you come to the show. It is a smaller more intimate theater across the street in the BMO building. Snacks and beer and wine available. On top of that, there were SO many people packed in that it was hard to even stop for a second and actually enjoy the ambiance without constantly being surrounded by crowds or trying to move around people. It kind of took away from the experience because instead of feeling immersive or relaxing, it mostly just felt overcrowded. What also made it hard for me to justify the price is that you can literally see the entire thing through the fence from the park next to it. Honestly, if I ever wanted to see it again, I'd probably just go sit at the park, save my money, and actually have more room to enjoy the view comfortably without feeling packed in shoulder to shoulder with everyone else. Overall, it's definitely very pretty and visually impressive, but for me personally, the experience didn't match the cost enough to make me want to return.
