I want to send a huge thank you to Ron. His work is absolutely incredible!! He is very artistic and patient to get his craft just right for you. I have many more tattoos to be done, and I can't think of anyone better to make my visions come to life. The shop is really chill, and all the artists are very friendly (especially Hanky ). See ya next time Ron. read more

My friend and I stopped into Black Rose to visit Honeycomb Piercing for a nostril piercing and ear cartilage piercings. Kenji was our piercer and they were an absolute delight to work with. Super friendly, informative and kindhearted. Kenji took the time to chat with us about curating ear piercings and gave us suggestions that would fit our specific ear anatomy. My friend and I have already talked about going back for additional piercings with Kenji. Highly recommend read more

I always recommend this place to any of my friends looking to get a tattoo or piercing. I've gotten my nose and belly pierced here. Definitely go here over Sacred Art. I got my nose pierced at Sacred and was given jewelry much bigger than I requested. I came to Black Rose for the rescue to change it out immediately. Newt helped me out and was super gentle and helpful, changing out my super freshly pierced nose didn't hurt even a little bit. They were so great, I wanted them specifically to pierce my belly button like 2 years later. They were super gentle n did great with that too. I recently went to downsize my belly jewelry and Theo was super helpful. They suggested sizes and even ordered the jewelry to the store for me since they didn't have my original jewelry anymore and sent me updates about the order. Their jewelry is great quality and they're always super clean and thorough. read more

Simple place to get a last minute piercing. Called before we came to get pierced and luckily they had time for walk ins. There was 3 of us. We waited maybe 45min. There were some discrepancies in the prices, since we talked to multiple employees. Seems to have communicated the information differently. Friendly staff though. Piercing prices are moderate, not the cheapest but they have a good variety of jewelry. The piercer is very very nice and knowledgeable. She was experienced and made us feel comfortable during the whole process. Other things to mention, we parked on the street and they have a bathroom inside. read more

First I'd like to start with Honeycomb Jewelry and Piercing is located within Black Rose Tattooers. With that, we were greeted by Newt and Amri both were super friendly and easy going! I had an appointment with Amri and it went so smoothly. Got both second lobe piercings and left helix done. It was all so quick and Amri made sure I was comfortable the entire time. 110% recommend as I will be going back in the future for more piercings! Also it's been about 2 1/2 weeks since I went and my ears are healing nicely. I'm sure that has something to say for the quality of Amri's work and the jewelry. read more

Amazing queer friendly shop. Only legit shop around, APP certified. Newt is the bomb, everyone is super safe and sterile and kind. It's super affordable, only $5 to downsize when i brought my only piercing and $10 when i needed to buy a titanium barbell. That's super affordable. They're also Covid safe. Definitely come here for piercings. read more

i got my tongue pierced here forever ago and it healed awesome tysm newt! but i went in the other day to buy new jewelry and after waiting for 10 min, the piercer on duty that day came out and asked me what i needed and i asked if i could buy some jewelry. she came off as exasperated bc she said to either wait for a while bc she had clients or come back tomorrow, didnt wait for a response, and turned away like she had dealt with me. i understand you have clients but the way she spoke to me was rude and just bad customer service. tbh i'd rather get my jewelry off amazon than run into that piercer again. read more

Walked in and had no idea what to do. The two people up front acted like I was bothering them. And it's not very private. I was talking with my artist and the entire room was listening. There was extra people there just hanging out? Like what? It's so small in there. So uncomfy. read more

Today I had my second lobes pierced at another shop and about 3 hours later realized they were irritating and not comfortable for my ears )): Walked into Honeycomb Jewelry & Piercing (inside Black Rose Tattooer) on 4th Ave and was helped by the very kind Amri who took the time to explain the different jewelry, and sizing on my fresh pierced ears! She changed my ear piercing to the new selection-- and she was gentle, sweet, and prompt! Also she helped explain the aftercare process for healing. Do not hesitate to visit Honeycomb Jewelry & Piercing!! read more

I really cannot say enough positive things about Danny. I'm from out of town (Pennsylvania) and my friend and I are visiting Tucson. We wanted cactus tattoos as souvenirs. He was extremely friendly and professional. He gave us each EXACTLY what we wanted, and even took us right away as walk ins. He even took the time to touch up one of my tattoos that was fading, and adjust my friend's tattoo after hers was done. He needed us to be happy with our tattoo and it was very thoughtful of him. Prices were great and we left feeling like we made a new friend. The shop was clean and playing great music. Danny is an amazing artist, I would recommend him to anyone! read more

I needed help changing out a very new set of piercings. I had visited another shop for the piercings and they used a butterfly back that was become really bothersome. The initial shop was closed for three days and I couldn't wait. I did some research, found that Theo at Black Rose would take me in the morning. He was awesome. I was running late and he was so patient. He was gentle swapping out the earrings since the fresh piercings were so tender. Even with the new earrings in some tender piercings, I was surprised by how much of a relief it was to have a flat back rather than the butterfly. Such a great experience and I wish that I'd seen Theo for the initial piercings. read more

Wish I had picked a different tattooer. Phil Boruff started off good but then could not separate personal from professional. Did a crappy job on my last tattoo and now won't fix it. Sad to say I'm going to have to find another tattooer to fix his work. Be careful when picking a tattoo artist there. The shop came highly recommended by an awesome tattoo artist in Utah. Choose anyone but Phil Boruff. read more

I just got both my nostrils pierced yesterday. Theo is AMAZING! He walked me through everything he was doing, explained his own method, asked me multiple times if I was happy with placement and if I was still doing okay. He was also VERY thorough explaining aftercare. He provided a pamphlet with instructions, and also emailed me explaining aftercare. He was very kind, patient and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend Theo for a piercing! read more

One of the best tattoo experiences I have ever had! I went the day before and walked into several shops to get quotes for a friend and I. They were the only place that greeted me when I walked in, they had the best prices, the shop was clean and the artist seemed genuinely interested in the art I wanted. I was able to book an appointment for the next day. My friend and I showed up early and he was still able to start when we arrived. I got Roman numerals on my arm/wrist area and she got a Latin phrase. The music playing in the shop was also great! I highly recommend anyone in the shop but specifically Daniel. read more

I can't say enough good things about Danny. He was very helpful and understanding about the tattoos I wanted. He reset them until I was happy with the size and location. Harrison is an incredible artist! I have three pieces of his work on me and have plans for more. He also did my first tattoo and has made each session enjoyable. He's a nice guy and super easy to talk to which makes the whole process less stressful. He's the only artist that has offered to buy me coffee and even bought me a burrito when the nice burrito lady came by! (5 stars for her food as well) The shop is clean and everyone is very welcoming and has no issue answering questions. I highly recommend Black Rose on 4th to everyone! read more

Danny was so amazing! I contacted him two days before I was in town, and he put so much thought and time into my design. This was my first ever tattoo--for my 18th birthday--and he was extremely patient although I'm sure I took much longer than most customers to prepare for the session. And he did an amazing job with my tattoo. It was so much less painful than I expected, and the line work was beautiful. He was really kind and friendly and communicated great before and during the appointment. The experience was perfect. Four of my friends came with me and all got piercings, and they had similarly wonderful experiences. We were all blown away and walked away very happy. If we're ever in Tucson again we'll definitely be back to Black Rose. The artists and the space made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Can't recommend them enough. read more

4th Avenue authentic street tattoo shop with great artists. Quick review here--I only have three tattoos--every one done by Phil at Black Rose on 4th--and the whole process with him is awesome. The shop is clean, the artists are eclectic and chatty, and the music is great! This is not a Las Vegas or LA celebrity tattoo shop--these guys and girls are SERIOUS about the art and helping you get the art that you want. I had a lot of design elements I wanted incorporated into my art--and I would send Phil my design via email or text/picture, and without exception he took what I wanted and made it better--way better. I love the shop so much that both my wife and my mom have had tattoos there with Phil as well! Definitely highly recommended. read more

I'm reallyy disappointed with the piercing I got back at the beginning of September. I don't usually write bad reviews but I feel so much like I wasted my money:( I had pierced my septum a twice in high school and both times had to take it out before it was fully healed because of issues with my parents. I decided when I moved out to get it redone professionally. The experience was a good one when I went in, but I did specify I didn't want the piercing too high that the balls of the jewelry touched my nose. After Amri (my piercer) showed me the outcome it was absolutely higher than I wanted as the balls were touching my nose (jewelry wasn't hanging AT ALL). I was a bit bummed but I figured it hang a little more after swelling went down and I was just happy to have it done. Almost 6 months later it still didn't seem completely healed even though I was very rigid about doing a soak 3 times a day my first 4 months. At first I thought it might be from scar tissue from having it pierced previously. About a week ago I took it out to change the jewelry and was heart crushed. The piercing was too high for me to even see the hole inside my right nostril. I think that that hole was too close to my cartilage and thats why it wasn't healing. I also noticed the hole in the left nostril was significantly lower. Was pretty devastated that it was crooked, too high, and potentially braised my septum cartilage. I didn't even attempt to put it back in. I'm going to let it heal and if I ever get it done go somewhere else! Not sure if this was just an off day, but I did my own septum better in high school. I'm just super sad that I don't have a septum again when it was not cheap for me to invest in a professional. read more

I went in to get a tattoo today, and while my tattoo came out to my liking, the customer service did not. Not only were my roommate treated very rudely, the tattoo artist doing the work dropped the working tattoo gun on my neck, leaving me with 2 noticeable marks. Harrison was great in every way. Friendly, polite, professional and I especially appreciated his attitude and treatment towards walk-ins, and the general fourth ave crowd with all of its color and variety, very good people person (I've seen others - and myself - intimidated out of some other tattoo places in the past). NOW, the tattoo was a cover up and I was expecting something good based on reviews and research, etc, but I left with a piece I'm even more proud of than I'd planned on being! Excellent work and fast. My other tattoos are now jealous. Thank you Harrison! I'll be coming back! read more

We got my daughter's ears pierced yesterday by Theo. He was one of the most patient people I've ever met. My friend and I went into Black Rose one Friday night and walked out with an appointment a week later. Our tattoos were done by Harrison--he's absolutely AMAZING. He was so helpful and patient, changing my design as many time as it took for me to love it. He was also really respectful, I got my tattoo on the side of my breast and when he noticed how embarrassed I was, he took me into the private piercing room to get the design set up so I wouldn't have to feel exposed in front of the other customers. There was another employee (Nino) helping two customers while we were there and he was extremely friendly too. They both created a great environment for someone as nervous as I was. TLDR; The shop is really clean, the employees knowledgable and talented, and the entire experience was professional and fantastic.
