I called to ask about a piercing for my 16 yr old daughter. The eprson who answered the phone said…read morethey would only do them for people he personally knew at that age. Something about getting into trouble with the police? He also went on to say, and I quote; "I would be sticking my tool in your minor's orifice." WHAT THE HELL? And that I should not go anywhere to have her belly button pierced because if it causes a distraction at school, she can get into a fight or sent to the office in which case CPS would be called on me. I ended up going to a place on Speedway with a sculpture of a huge tree outside. They specialize on in piercings, and I moniyored the entire event and found none of it to be as creepy as the weirdo from this place put it. I would skip this place, would be my advice to anyone. Sick. Weird. OVER THE PHONE none the less. I would not want to imagine what goes on in his head that he doesn't share over the phone.

I walked in and Claudia greeted me, she gave me some paperwork to fill out while she was getting the room ready, Claudia seem to be very knowledgeable in her craft. She had me pick out the nose ring, she said I would need to wear the same one for about six months to make sure it healed well! She said I can come back for the first time and they would exchange my piercing if I would like. She went over the post after care instructions with me... she told me I would need to return in six weeks just so they can take a look at it. Make sure it's healing.. Thx Claudia for doing such an awesome job and making me feel comfortable, see you in 6 weeks

He also helped me with sizing new jewelry for an old piercing and put a lot of thought into that too. He was really considerate in helping my wife decide on what to do for the piercing they wanted, and their two dermal piercings turned out great as well. The environment was also very clean and the space felt intimate, which I personally prefer over some busier piercing shops that see more clients at any given time. I really felt well taken care of! Highly recommend it here!

I've been going to this place for all my piercings for years. Unfortunately, however, my most…read morerecent experience was the worst I think I've ever had (and I have about 9 piercings). I believe they recently hired a new piercer as the one who had done all my other work was no longer there. He seemed like a really nice guy but it kind of seemed like he didn't really know what he was doing. So so many things were not right and all of my red flags were going off. I'll summarize, and for reference I went in for a daith and a helix: - We started with the daith, my first red flag was when he was marking me up with a ballpoint pen (precision and sterility issue) - Secondly, he marked a dot on my daith?? Not sure what his plan was but I had to explain to him that I wanted the daith piercing to go though the actual cartilage either side. Really not sure what he would have done with the dot he marked had I not told him what I wanted. - When prepping to pierce my daith, he opened a straight 16g needle and bent it with his hands (tissue trauma and healing issue) - He also had an issue getting the ball on the daith after installing it and had to use the forceps to probe the horse-shoe angle open more, and then force it back into its original position. Ive not been messing with it but I wouldn't be surprised if the jewelry inside my ear was severely messed up. - With my helix, again marked with a ballpoint pen, he tried offering me hoops to heal. I feel like to any seasoned piercee you'd know that hoops are a definite no-go for fresh piercings and healing, and as a piercer you should know better. - In addition to that, my helix turned out super crooked and the flat-back that he ended up giving me was at least one size too small if not two, and it was unable to properly account for my swelling. I also had a super nasty bruise atop most of my ear, and with all of this added together I had to take out the piercing not even 2 days after getting it done. My swelling would not go down even with ice and ibuprofen and the risk of my ear swallowing this helix was a real issue. - On top of ALL that, he also broke sterility multiple times. He was very back-and-forth with the jewelry and equipment draws after already donning his gloves, and would then touch the jewelry and needles and whatnot after. Very wary of the cleanliness of this entire experience and I just really hope I'm able to hang onto the daith without a bad infection. Overall a really awful experience and I unfortunately will NOT be going back, which is a big shame as it's been my go-to for ~5 years. Please be careful.

Terrible Customer Service!!…read more THEIF!!! I went to speak with Joey at Shades of Grey Tattoo on 22nd st. Joey spoke with me about a tattoo I wanted near my shoulder. Joey stated he would get me in soon if I was flexible. I told him I had a completely open schedule. Joey promised to send me a sketch within a couple of days. I did not hear from Joey for several days and followed up. He said he was busy and would get me something the next day several more days went by with no communication. I reached out again and he asked for a deposit. I gave him $300. Joey did not communicate for several more days and I had to ask again. Finally he sent me a generic tattoo found on the internet and put me on the schedule. I had to change the day and Joey said no problem and would squeeze me in another day. Since then Joey has not responded to any texts and would not issue a refund of the deposit. I have all texts as proof.
