Went this morning (8/1/26) to get a fuel and a hot cocoa. After 5 minutes, cars had not moved and I was blocked in so I could t get out of line. N started my stopwatch to see how long this would take. It took another 20 minutes until I got to the window. Had they been short handed, I would have been less annoyed, but there were 5 other baristas all working. The wait time was not acknowledged, a simple "sorry about the wait) would have been nice. I come here often on my lunch break and it's hit or miss on whether it's going to take 10 minutes to get my drink or 45. I use the online app in hopes that will make it easier for the staff to have at least a heads up of the order- however that is never the case. It is quite unsightly to have the person preparing food and drinks dig through a trash can to look for the receipt and then immediately go to making my drink. It is also very unfortunate that when waiting in the line for 40 minutes, having an online order placed, walking them through what items were on the online order, and then receiving it- that they give me sour cream instead of cream cheese for a bagel. Last visit I came 4 hours before close and after ordering a bagel was informed that they had turned the ovens off and i'd be receiving a refrigerated bagel (that was also soggy). There are 2 employees that are there that when I see them working I know my food and drinks will be handled with care but so many employees who seem they are still new on the job and are overall confused about everything. I went to Black Rock today and had a really disappointing customer service experience. I'm a regular and usually order a caramel Blondie with two extra shots and slightly less sweet. Most of the time it's great, but recently it's tasted either overly sweet or like the extra shots were forgotten. When that's happened before, the staff has always been kind and willing to remake it without any issue. However, there is one employee (a blonde woman who often wears a Carhartt hoodie) who is consistently rude when I ask for a remake. She sighs, gives me dirty looks, and acts as though it's my fault the drink was made incorrectly. Today, I finally addressed how her attitude makes me feel, and she laughed and told me that every time I come in my drink is made wrong -- which simply isn't true. I am a regular customer, and I've never had issues with anyone else being disrespectful. The interaction made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I understand mistakes happen, but professionalism and basic kindness should still be expected. Unfortunately, this experience has made me hesitant to return because I don't want to deal with that negative energy again. read more

We visit this location at least 5 days per week. The staff is always friendly, fast, and efficient. We get everything from hot coffees, chillers, hot cocoas and Italian sodas. Everything is always great. Every now and then we bring our pup along and he loves his pup cups that they make up for him. It's his best day ever every time. I love Black Rock! I wish we had this chain on the East Coast. Their Mexican mocha is amazing and one of the best coffee drinks I've had, it's delicious and just the right amount of sweet and spicy. I liked their Irish cream as well. Prices might be a bit high for what it is but oh well. Love this place! read more

Always busy, but the lines move fast. Decent drinks and the people working there are always friendly without being over the top like Dutch.

Line was super slow , coffee was great as always. I like the coffee here at Black Rock because it's less acidic than other places I try. The coffee drinks are smooth and don't seem to bother my stomach. I like the seasonal drinks hot and cold. Not really a fan of their energy drinks. read more

She gets excited at the prospect of another coffee chains treats, today she experienced Black Rocks. She knew it was treat time but she didn't expect this bacon whipped cream combo!! Came in today and there were 4 pedestrians in the drive thru (outer one away from Walgreens) and we had no problem waiting out for it to be our turn, what we do have an issue with is 3 more pedestrians walking up and deciding it was more than ok to step in line in front of us like they were more than entitled to do so, no one said anything from inside to them, and if you're going to allow them to do this instead of making them wait their turn then come off that lane and only allow pedestrians to use it. Also for context we had 3 vehicles behind us already when the last 2 pedestrians walked up, and only a couple cars on the other side. We literally live across the way. This is not the first issue we've had at this location. I've asked for my drink to be slightly cooler and I end up with a lukewarm coffee but I haven't posted about it until now, funny thing is that we always tip at least 20% if not more. My husband finally had enough and honked the horn to get the pedestrians attention as they seemed to continue to grow and asked them to move so we can get through. As we will no longer utilize this location. There needs to be separate pedestrian ordering area especially as if this is happening all the time we're not the only ones who feel like this. When we made it to the window the music inside was too loud and we had to shout our order. Drinks were very good and made exactly as ordered. Friendly staff. I love Black Rock and most specifically this location. They know my order which is cool! They are always super friendly and take an interest. The coffee is great and the offerings are plenty. That said their vendor for food, too sweet cakes, makes terrible pastries and food. The scones are always a brick and hard and the breads are super dense, heavy, and usually taste as if they have been frozen. The bars are terrible tasting and super sweet. I really wish they would find a new treat vendor. Other than that I recommend. read more

I can imagine that they would have a huge male customer base! I like that they will make a coffee the way I like it without too much coconut milk!! It seems like they hired a LOT of new people but clearly they didn't train them how to make drinks correctly or something... they mess up every order that I've made there. Every time. Love the staff. I was going there several times a week to either get an americano or flavored rockstar. But then they got rid of the rockstar and now carry their own energy drink and good god it's so gross. I felt awful because I haven't been back since even though it has nothing to do with them as a company or that location. The people are lovely, funny and just great to deal with. But that energy driiiiiink. It's weird. Maybe I'll give it another try sometime. Or at least get an Italian soda on a hot day. read more
