peach cobbler latte
Mia O.

Visiting from out of town and decided to try this place out. Upon entering the shop we were greeted (not very warmly) but throughout the entire interaction he never once looked up while speaking to us and remained very rude. The menu lists "fruit cobbler latte" which I took as being a latte of multiple fruit flavors but to my surprise, the barista sounded annoyed asking which fruit flavor I'd like. Later when asked for a straw, the same barista said he would only give a straw if we stayed and had our drink there.."that's why we have those sip lids"...what the heck?! Very disappointing, not to mention the drink was absolutely disgusting and tasted like soap.

Not a run of the mill coffee and gift shop, they pour BOOZE too! EVERYTHING is so well curated, and I mean Everything they stock! Try walking out without a lil' sumptin' !! Stumptown Espresso, Proud Mary pour over coffee, Metolius Artisan Teas, and the best selection of usual pastries from $2 pink Conch Mexican sweet to $4 Kouign-Ammans and Cruffins and ever had a Holjadra? jalapeno cream cheese flat pastry, yep thought not. CBD sodas, Ninkasi's colab with PDX mixologist Jeffrey Morgenthaler's canned cocktails, fresh Mimosas, Oat milk Cold Brew, Underwood canned wine, Swift Cider, jarred Chai concentrate, and so much more. Local makers jewelry, greeting cards, lip tints, soaps, handmade reusable paper towels, and stacks of books and games. What a gem in the OC. Would love some outdoor sidewalk tables & shade brollies that could extend around the corner for both extra seating and visibility.

Croissant & Muffin

Nice local quaint good atmosphere Coffee shop with attached book store. Today's stop was strictly for Baked goods as I heard they are good from here. Apparently they get most of their Baked goods from Dos Hermanos Bakery. I got a Croissant & 1 Muffin as pictured. Not pictured was an item called a Cruffin & it was freaking delicious! A Cruffin is a hybrid Croissant/Muffin with a Jelly filling. The Employees were friendly & provided good service.

My friend and I meet sometimes in OC and this time we just wanted coffee and maybe a light something to eat. I mistakenly chose this place instead of a real coffee shop. It was like stepping back in time and not in a good way. I had no idea this was really just a book store with a little coffee stand in the middle. This place was cramped and crowded with stuff and was truly an awful experience. Just like back decades ago there were people taking up large spaces to work on laptops. Even the counter felt too close to the door and you always felt on top of people here. Felt more like a place for regulars. The latte tasted sweet and all, but not the actual flavor I ordered. Cruffins seem like a good idea and was tasty, but the execution left it messy and unbalanced. They just yell out drink orders rather than even getting a name and it took a really long time just to get that drink. I've never waited that long for a coffee before. Bar stools crammed too close together to really sit on your stool even. We were able to move from the bar with the narrow walkway right behind you to a cramped table. Other customers were just really rude and I couldn't wait to be finished so we could leave. I would not recommend this place ever to anyone for any reason.

Cortado

This is a cute and quaint little coffee shop, and honestly it's some of the best coffee I've had in Oregon. Their menu is simple but packs a punch, and my mocha was flavorful and filling. My husband loved his cortado and said it was one of the best he ever had. I'll be back when I'm in Oregon City again.

Chai iced latte and lemon danish

Honestly this is the best chai I've had at a coffee shop, every time I've tried one it usually is watered down with no flavor ! This one was full of flavor I could taste the spices in it :) And they have milk alternatives for my vegan/ lactose friends :) Now the danish YUM chefs kiss honestly so delicious As to the place it's self super cute ! Lots of thing to look at books/ and oregon gifts ! 10/10 perfect place to bring family/ friends from out of town !:) Hours are 7am -4pm ! Only thing is you do need to find parking in the street !

This coffee shop feels like a little kids dream! Absolutely adorable and very cozy! Their staff was very respectful of my service dog and ignored her as her vest requests. Coffee didn't stand out to me but otherwise an excellent place to get a cup of something warm, watch the rain, buy a book and start said book all in one place!

The Metolius chai tea is my favorite. It's made in Bend, Oregon. And if you like chai, you should totally have a chai there.

What a dream bookstore for book lovers indeed! Founded in 1971, Powell's is such a Portland staple,…read moreand this location in the Pearl District is ginormous. You can seriously spend hours perusing all the books and choosing your next read, coffee table book, or whatever your heart desires. My favorite section of the bookstore hands down was the Rare Book Room, a special temperature and humidity-controlled room filled with some of the coolest books I have ever laid eyes on. And yes, they are for sale! To me, the room felt alive as I stood in the presence of historical literature, just as when I stand in the presence of great artifacts at a museum. Access to the Rare Book Room is granted as long as you grab a pass, and no food, drink, or unpaid books/merchandise is allowed inside. You can spend as long as you like (as long as it's not crowded in the room), and there is also a staff member present to answer any questions you may have. Of course I had to purchase a book from Powell's, called Freeway Birding, San Francisco to Seattle (it was even signed)! As an avid birdwatcher, this was the perfect book to add to my ever-expanding library. I also grabbed one of their wooden postcards and a couple of stickers to commemorate our time spent at this amazing bookstore. While the entire store was bustling, even on a weekday in August, take your time at Powell's and get swept away by any and all genres of literature that call to you. You never know what you may find next.

Powell's City of Books is kind of a must for any book lover! Whenever I visit a city, I try to…read morefind a local bookstore, and I knew before we even arrived that I had to check out Powell's. It was within walking distance of our hotel in the Pearl District, so we didn't need to contend with parking. It's overwhelming at first - I had heard of how large it was, but you don't quite get the scope until you start walking through - here are books and people everywhere you look! You can just wander, or make a plan of attack and strategically try to visit every corner of the store. We kind of did a combination of both, and started at the top floor and worked our way back down to ground level. The prices are typical of an independent book store, but they had a nice selection of used books and some great value books to snap up, too. There is literally something for everyone. There are lots of local authors and books set in the region. There are bookmarks around each info station with suggested/popular reads for each section of the store. There was a nice selection of local and bookish items and gifts, too - totes, t-shirts, postcards, stickers, etc. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I'll be stopping in any time I'm in Portland!

I still love going in here and sitting to read a good book. The store has lots of lounge areas to…read moredo that. Everything is well organized and the popular title books are located right as you walk in so you don't miss it. I noticed recently they have a decent sized records selection and DVD's to browse so I will be back to add to my collection. The line hasn't been terribly long to wait in and customer service has been pleasant. Things are more expensive than some other stores but honestly I enjoy having to walk around and explore the little treasures here. I always find something new that catches my eye I was recently in here browsing while my phone was being repaired. They had a fun section of books that were wrapped in paper as a mystery buy. I loved that they're doing this so I bought two! Have no idea if the books are good but I don't care, it was a fun purchase. Parking in front is hard to come by but if you park far, it is a nice walk on a good weathered day.

I love their album selection and will frequently find items in stock that are not in stock at other Barnes and Nobles. Most recently in the last month I have been to two special release events (ATEEZ and Stray Kids) and they have done a phenomenal job organizing and running both events! I also appreciate the discounted prices on some items. They truly do a great job making it a fun and safe environment for these special events
