The hosts, Michelle and Albert were so friendly and accommodating. We also stayed at this resort with the previous owners and loved it. We didn't hesitate with new owners, it is so convenient to the marina, etc. and were very pleased. We enjoyed meeting Beau, the new fur baby addition to the family. Unaware that it had new owners, we reserved 2 cabins for 3 nights at 80 a night per cabin plus pet deposit. Checked in on Thursday took the kids swimming (nice pool) used the only towls we had (room towls) . On the way back from the pool we asked for fresh towls to shower. We were very rudely told we were not supposed to use those towls at the pool . I explained we had no others and did not know we were not allowed to use them . She then very grudgingly got up and got us 3 towels ( for 2 rooms 8 people) and scolded me again for using them. I felt so bad I told her if she like I would take them and wash them. (No washer on site) SATURDAY asked AGAIN for clean towls and was told NO WE USED OURS AT THE POOL. 8 people now not showered for 3 days because we can't dry off with clean towls. Also they watched everything you did. We were extremely uncomfortable. Will NEVER stay again. And will tell everyone why. Also FYI. Others at the pool were also talking about how bad customer service was.. 6-9 thru 6-12 2022

But was so pleasantly surprised that the new owners, Diane and Don, were taking things to a whole new level!!! First, the internet. Yay!!!! For so long we just suffered through it. They spent some money and upgraded the system. Thank you!! Second, the pool. It's never looked better and the sun shades helped so so much. The shades on the seating area were also a huge improvement. Third, the service. We were informed on Tuesday evening that the internet would be out for a few hours Wednesday morning. Most times that wouldn't be an issue. But that Wednesday morning my daughter had to give a presentation for her summer internship at that exact time. Diane charged her personal jet pack Tuesday night and delivered it first this Wednesday morning for my daughter to use. It worked perfectly!! Whew. To have the new owner go above and beyond for us on their first time having us, was a huge deal to me. We're already deciding when our next time back will be.

The location is just off the river, so you can walk down and fish yards from your room. The main drag of Cotter is only a 5 minute driver or so, and I went there for breakfast at White Sands (excellent food) before heading down to the river. Stayed here in December, so it was cold. Not a lot of people though, and the fishing was excellent as usual here. Caught a bunch of fish before heading home. Bottom line, this is a solid spot to sleep, shower, and wind down from a busy day of fishing. Nice room, comfortable bed, and great location.

While there, I was able to conduct business minimizing time off and maximizing fishing time. We stayed in cabin 8 and it was clean and had dishes and cooking utensils that met our needs. We kept our small fishing boat at the dock and took advantage of the fish cleaning station there. The boat ramp was too steep for my sedan but we were able to launch our boat at a resort a couple miles down the road. Diane has fresh eggs for sale which were a treat. Be sure to bring food you'll need and live bait. The nearest place is a convenience store \ gas station about 5 miles away.

There is a kids play place with sandpit, fire pit and grills guest can use. Also on Sundays for a fair price they offer the best homemade pizza around. If you do not own a boat you can rent his pontoon for 1/4 the price of anywhere else for the entire day. He has a spacious boat dock to store your boat/ pontoon and a blow up floating trampoline on the water. Take It Easy is not only kid and family friendly but pet friendly as well. We planned a father sons fishing trip with 2 other father and son duos. It was our 11 and 12 year olds first time to ever trout fish. We were told we would be able to wade out at the location. Unfortunately that was not true and the water drops off rapidly at the bank. That's ok, we fished from the bank. Only one trout was caught on our 3 days there but that's fishing. The amenities are a little less than you would expect given the price but again...it's a fishing cabin and certainly no resort. However, a mistake made during booking online is where our sub par experience turned to a terrible one. To keep it short and simple 2 kids under the age of 11 were left off of the online application. To which WE brought to the owners attention at check out only to have the owner state we were dishonest and charge an extra $240 to our trip. It is clear the owners here are not interested in your fishing experience but rather making as much money as they can while misrepresenting a so called grand fishing experience. I cannot in good faith recommend this place to anyone looking to catch fish from the bank, enjoy scenic White River views, or have a quality experience with family and friends.

We loved the vintage features like the porch furniture, wood tiled ceilings on the porches and knotty pine walls. The kids loved the pool and the paddle boat. The owners are great at communication for setting up the rental and give you privacy while you are there but are always around if you need anything. It was a perfect place to stay for our siblings weekend.
