We booked this stay almost last minute for a race in Cotter, and didn't know what to expect from a small town hotel. It far surpassed all expectations. We chose a room with a connected bathroom but could see that the shared bathrooms were plentiful and easily available. The shared kitchen and living spaces were large and met every need we had. All the guests who were staying there at the same time were pleasant and considerate of others. We were within walking distance to the beautiful park and delicious White Sands cafe, and the town is beautiful and quiet. We can't wait to come back and stay!!

We rented one of their golf carts to get down to the marina, which I especially appreciated because I was recovering from knee surgery. We brought our two dogs and stayed for a Thursday and Friday night in August. The campground was clean, peaceful, and not overcrowded. Our RV site had a view of Norfolk Lake, and had full hookups and Wi-Fi access. We highly recommend Keller's Cove Cabin and RV Park.

They had great breakfast and lunch specials, and dinner was affordable and tasty too. Home made pies were a specialty of the house. Prices were very reasonable. A change in ownership, in my opinion, resulted in a decline in food quality and service. Although there was still some pretty decent food being served, the prices started to climb and menu offerings became more limited. The last few times I ate there the food was just so-so. You could do worse for lunch, but it's not worth going out of your way for. I've noticed the crowds aren't there anymore either.

BTW, the previous post has nothing to do with the White Sands Motel. The White Sands Motel (now Cotter Trout Lodge) does not own the White Sands Restaurant. But I do know all the locals eat at the White Sands Restaurant. I live one block from the motel and recommend both the NEW (remodeled) motel AND the restaurant.

The hosts, Michelle and Albert were so friendly and accommodating. We also stayed at this resort with the previous owners and loved it. We didn't hesitate with new owners, it is so convenient to the marina, etc. and were very pleased. We enjoyed meeting Beau, the new fur baby addition to the family. Unaware that it had new owners, we reserved 2 cabins for 3 nights at 80 a night per cabin plus pet deposit. Checked in on Thursday took the kids swimming (nice pool) used the only towls we had (room towls) . On the way back from the pool we asked for fresh towls to shower. We were very rudely told we were not supposed to use those towls at the pool . I explained we had no others and did not know we were not allowed to use them . She then very grudgingly got up and got us 3 towels ( for 2 rooms 8 people) and scolded me again for using them. I felt so bad I told her if she like I would take them and wash them. (No washer on site) SATURDAY asked AGAIN for clean towls and was told NO WE USED OURS AT THE POOL. 8 people now not showered for 3 days because we can't dry off with clean towls. Also they watched everything you did. We were extremely uncomfortable. Will NEVER stay again. And will tell everyone why. Also FYI. Others at the pool were also talking about how bad customer service was.. 6-9 thru 6-12 2022
