This is basically your only choice up here at A Basin, minus the restaurants below. Supply and demand would dedicate that they only had to be mediocre based on location alone. But - this place is good, really good. Surprisingly good and the service is awesome. Things to Note: 1) Beer 2) Slightly overpriced but you are on top of a mountain. $15 Burgers, $10 soups, $15 Salads 3) Outdoor Patio 4) Wifi 5) If you don't ski/board, you can get a $20 scenic lift ticket and this will give you a $15 food voucher. Must Dos: 1) Burger w/ waffles fries. 2) Bison Stew w/ cornbread 3) Huge Salads I was there when there was a lot of STL style Ribs and Brisket. Having lived in the Lou - I was like hell no. But I think I need to come back, forget the skiing - just eat and sit outside or Both.

Just go up one lift and you're here! It's a casual place with most people stopping during their ski runs for a quick bite or beer. The food portions are pretty good. We got the bison bread bowl and the pickled jalapeños were great. Only gave 3 stars because the rest of the bowl lacked a little flavor and first set of silverware we got was dirty. There is no table service.

Nice mid mountain spot. I believe their is something further up the mountain but it's a bathroom or warming hut. This has a full kitchen though so it's a good spot to rest or meet the homies. Clean bathrooms right when you enter on your left. Water fountain with cups. Small al la carte snack section. Coffee. Hot chocolate. Soups salads. Burgers. Pasta. Sandwiches on the menu. Desert too so you have your hot food to warm up. Full bar. Not as many taps as down the mountain. About four but IPA/Stout/Lager and a cheaper Coors or PBR option rotates. Few tall stools and tables. Long tables to eat leaving room for jackets and boots. Outdoor seating right by the Black Mountain Express. Racks outside for your skis or boards. Good place to take a break and eat.

Awesome BBQ Brisket Sandwich with massive sticky sweet potato fries.

We are long-time fans of Arapahoe Basin and it's lofty 12,050 ft summit. However, I must admit that I now come for the barbecue and stay for the skiing (and hiking in summer!) Black Mountain Lodge has some of the best house smoked BBQ brisket and pork in Colorado. A well kept secret culinary hideaway? Not for long!

Very good BBQ ribs because they have focused on smoking meats for a significant part of their menu. Wonderful location and views.

Best Pulled Pork sandwich I've ever had! The bloody mary's were also delicious and tall.

Our server, Grayson was clearly super familiar with everything on the menu and at the resort, he was very friendly and made some great recommendations. We started with some beer, and then we were told about "Wingo" Thursdays, which is exactly what it sounds like, wing specials and bingo. We didn't anticipate staying for bingo, but after trying the wings and they were so incredible, we decided to have some desserts as well and play along since we were hanging around for a bit. We got the traditional and the garlic Parmesan wings, $15 for 12 wings is a really good price and they were absolutely incredible. We also tried the tres leches bread pudding, this was quite possibly the best bread pudding I've ever had, Grayson told us they do a different one every year, I'm very happy. We came this week and not last week as it would not have been the same then! The skillet cookie was also delicious, we tried the peanut butter, which was a unique combination as usually these are served with chocolate chip cookies. Everything was five star perfection, which is super unexpected for bar food, and even more so at a ski resort. I will be prioritizing coming on Thursdays again !

We ordered from the waitress, whom was nice, but she never came back to check on us after she served us our food. The food was horrible. I ordered the pancakes and bacon. The bacon was hard, stale, and dry as if it had been reheated several times. My pancakes were crunchy and tasted like sour milk. The mixed fruit cup was the best part of the breakfast. It's located downstairs in such a great hotel, so we really expected better or at least decent!

Date of visit: February 14, 2025…read more While staying at the resort on a snowy Valentine's Day, my friend wanted to venture out but I wasn't all that hungry or interested in battling the weather and opted for a night inside instead, but maybe he was right. We did not have a reservation and Brian the host was both accommodating and extremely frazzled. It seemed like the restaurant was a bit understaffed but I couldn't tell from all of the staff roaming around the restaurant and bar area. Our server was Michael from KCMO who was nice enough when we actually saw him, he did not make many appearances during our time at Bighorn, sadly. They had a piano player who was fine enough, but I actually preferred it when he wasn't playing as it just made it easier to talk . Had there been an option, I would have preferred something further from the piano, but given the lack of reservation I was not going to protest! Not being super hungry I went with a soup and salad. The soup sounded wonderful: Sweet Potato Bisque. It was not wonderful. It didn't really taste like sweet potatoes and once the crispy coconut topping was gone, so was the magic. However the Caesar salad was quite good; had I known this I would have just gone with a dinner version of this and called it a night!
