Used to be our go to spot for a long time. We used to be regulars here. We stopped going when we were treated rudely by a new hostess that we had never seen before because we didn't have a reservation, although we never needed one before and the tables were all currently empty. We were there with friends from out of town, trying to show them our favorite spots. We went down the street to another one of our favorite restaurants and on the way back to the car we passed this place again. We looked in to see if they were busy yet and there were still many open tables. I sent a message to the management who kind of apologized but ultimately said that we should have made reservations and denied that the place was at least half empty each time we passed by. Maybe instead of taking reservations for every table, you should leave some open for walk ins like most restaurants do. The vibe I got from management did not make me feel any better so we haven't returned since. I'm tired of paying top dollar at restaurants to be treated poorly. It's not everywhere but there seems to be several places now where customer service is not a top priority. I'm fortunate enough to have a wife that is an excellent cook and makes food as good or better than these places at home. When we go out, it's to enjoy the experience as much as it is for the food and drinks. read more

Came here for my birthday on June 1st and I had high expectations from all the food pictures posted. Our waiter seems nice but didn't time the food very well. Bread/ butter was served when we were almost done with dinner. We ordered Margherita pizza for appetizer, tomatoes stood out because it was super fresh but not enough fresh mozzarella and flatbread was hard. Some parts I could not bite into the bread. I ordered the swordfish, portion is small and a bit over cooked but the lemon beurre blanc was delish. We also ordered the snapper that seems to be better than the swordfish but nothing specular about the dish. The chicken artichoke was tasty and juicy but chicken barely makes 6 ounces. Place was nice and clean. No complimentary dessert for the birthday lady here although people had posted free birthday ice cream. We did order crème brûlée and it was the best I've had, that's for 3 stars. I wanted to include this on our list of favorite restaurants but we got some service failures and mediocre entrees for our 1st visit. The next day we went to Crawdaddy and their swordfish and snapper was way better, good potion, very tasty, fish tasted very fresh and bread/butter was served as soon as we were seated. I might give this restaurant another try but my 1st impression kinda left a mark. read more

Brought my father here for his birthday, and it was quite nice! Ambience was beautiful. The booths were intimate and sleek. Full bar with happy hour food and drink specials ending at 6PM. The seafood pasta was good, and everyone else really enjoyed their meals too. The only complaint was that the rice was cold in the middle and the service was a bit slow (but really warm and friendly!) I would definitely come back here for a special occasion. read more

We come there often, but I am giving you a three star instead of our normal five because our server was very unfriendly and not the greatest. She would never ask us if we needed refills until somebody said "oh I'd like to refill please" and then the second person couldn't even get their word in edgewise, and she was already gone. I think they named that song after her. Everybody's meals were pretty good. We had the red snapper stuffed with crab and shrimp. It was a very good tasting fish and the stuffing was great however, it was supposed to come with a beurre blanc dill sauce! Two driblets of sauce on the whole fish, and it was not moist enough after that. We could've used more sauce. Just an FYI, add more of that beurre blanc dill sauce. Other than that the meals were great. Teach your server to be a little bit more friendly and outgoing towards her clients. Unfortunately, I have to re-look at my bill to remember her name. The place is not that huge and if she's got six tables to wait on. It really shouldn't be that hard to be that friendly. read more

We tried for the first time Friday. The atmosphere was great, service great, food was OK, but wasn't great- red curry seafood stew was white like Alfredo without the cheese. Very bland. Pistachio grouper was cooked nicely - but really just panko crumbs. Also bland. It was good enough and would only go back if we were in a pinch. read more

Surprisingly tasty meal. Expectations were not high since it's in the middle of a tourist trap district. But we had very good conch cakes, Asiago snapper, grouper sandwich and more. Menu is not kid friendly. They were able to make a plain cheese pizza for our 10-year-old which was nice. Waitress was a little frazzled but did a good job keeping drinks topped up. read more

My sister in law and I had a great casual lunch here on a Saturday just before the sky opened up on the downtown area. They were very accommodating and let us stay in the lobby area until the worst of the storm had passed. The food was delicious and our server was nicely attentive without being overbearing. Dinner at the Black Marlin was delicious! We started with appetizers that included grouper fingers, conch cakes and calamari. Although the calamari was a little short on coating, all were cooked wonderfully. My entree was the grouper franchise. It was one of the best dishes I've had recently. The fish was absolutely perfect! Others in our party had snapper, meatloaf and chicken dishes. Again, all were very good. Definitely, will be back! read more

It's still a tavern make no mistake: the waitstaff was surly, the music was 80s hard rock (ac/dc Guns N' Roses) and the food was meh. My son's swordfish was full of brown fatty meat, my "special" pesto salmon's sauce was more runny than saucy and I think I had maybe 4 slivers of sun dried tomatoes on it. We wanted the veggie lovers pizza but they had sold out, which we weren't informed of beforehand, but the table that sat behind us (clearly regulars based on the servers exchange) afterwards was informed immediately. So my partner chose the conch fritters. My biggest beef rn with this entire city is that the prices have gone way up but they haven't done anything to make the quality any better so that it's not such a bitter pill when you get the bill. The salads are large and worth the cost if you're splitting it it with one or 2 people also, get the dressing on the side cause they definitely use too much. read more

Let me start with if our review was based solely on our time at the bar while waiting for our table it would be 2 stars and very short. The bar tenders were not friendly at all and made us feel very out of place. My husband and I have never felt like we didn't belong in an establishment more than last night. We were ignored and blatantly treated differently than the older more monied crowd at the bar. We almost paid for our drinks and left. Thankfully our table was ready right at the designated time of 8:30 and we were seated after giving our bar seats to another couple. Our waitress was very pleasant. The hostess at the door was very pleasant. The food....the food is 5 star worthy. We will be back to eat- but will never patronize the bar again. Our waitress was able to get us new drinks from bar in a quarter of the time it took one of the 3 bartenders to pour us a beer. Everything we ate was spectacular and my husbands after dinner cocktail was delicious. Highly recommend making reservations and dining in. read more

Food is fantastic!!!!! Wish the wine was measured! I got a very small glass. The couple we were with got a glass with 2 servings in it and 1 1/2 servings after they told the waiter - who had helped them before. I had not been there before and I showed my meager glass of wine beside theirs and the waiter just shrugged. Not a great way to encourage new patrons . will try again because the food was so good. But if you're looking for a great surf and turf... or should I say "reef & beef ", this is the place to go. You know what? If you're any to make your taste buds happy, this is the place to go. Not impressed. First time here Saturday night. Empty tables, yet seated next to bathroom and across from 2 staff members rolling silverware. Asked to be moved, and it was much better. Waitress brought bread and oil /herbs although that was in a huge bowl with a serving spoon ( why so large?) Fiancé ordered Filet mignon which came with au gratin potatoes and green beans. The Demi glaze on the filet was over powering but the cook on the filet was perfect. Also ordered escargot in puff pastry. Served super soggy and nasty. Escargot was over cooked. The bar area looks very nice and seems like a very respectable place. I enjoyed the stacked chicken. Very good choice. Came with broccoli and rice. Great choice. I do have two complaints. One the restaurant can't fix. The other one they can. First, a couple at the bar were making out like there is no tomorrow and her mouth. Wow. Potty mouth potty mouth. Certainly not a lady. The other issue was the chatter between some of the waitstaff that wasn't appropriate within earshot of guests. It wasn't bad or rude, just not needed around customers.
