I went to this place to get a septum piercing since it was close by. It took awhile for someone to notice I was even there. When they did, I was told their piercer wasn't in, and I needed to book for tomorrow - no big deal, I could have called ahead.
I went back the next day, and again, waited. I told him what I wanted (happened to be the owner) - a gold septum piercing. He didn't tell me the price, and I didn't ask, since my previous one at another place had been about $50 for the piercing, and about $30 for the ring itself. I was expecting under $100.
Turns out, the entire thing cost me about $200 (give or take, this was in July, so I can't remember the exact number). Apparently when I said I wanted a gold piercing, they took it that I didn't just want a gold-looking piece, I wanted actual gold. While this is partially my fault for not asking ahead of time, I would have expected them to communicate the price to me if it was more than $100, nonetheless $200.
From there, I went to pay, and was told I needed to buy the salt water nose spray and the cleaning solution. Fine. I don't want it to get infected, even though I've never had issues with that. I ask to buy the smaller bottle of the gel-like cleaning solution, and the owner tells me I really need the larger bottle (which was huge), as the smaller one is for people who are traveling and have travel restrictions with liquids. At this point, I just want to get the hell out of there, so I say fine. I used probably 5ml total of the gel liquid, and now have 245ml left to go. The smaller bottle would have been completely fine, and I really felt that he took advantage and was trying to get more money out of me.
Whole thing ended up costing $250.
About three weeks later, the ball fell out of my nose ring. Fantastic. I went back and dealt with their other piercer - might have been a guy named Taylor? He was very nice, and said that the first guy - again, the owner - didn't put it in right. He fixed it.
At least, until the next day, when it fell out again.
And the next day, after going back.
It's still fallen out, and at this point, I never want to go back to this place. Terrible service, poor pricing, and I didn't feel cared for at all until the last piercer, and at that point, there was little he could do because gold is so malleable, any further tampering wouldn't really help (why I didn't want actual freaking gold). read more
