I am about to get a new tattoo, and everyone at Black line studio are super helpful, they have been understanding with what I want and giving me the time I need to take the right decision, no pushing or rushing, specially Knar and Lex, looking forward to my tattoo, thank you read more

Update: the studio actually reached out to me regarding my tattoo experience. They wanted to know if there was anything they could do since I was not happy. I didn't think there was really anything they could do seeing as how tattoos are permanent. But they offered to do 1-2 complimentary laser treatments so I can get the best possible cover up, which shows they really care about the customer experience. I haven't had the treatments yet, but plan to get them. So I'm still happy with the nose piercing I had done here, but I got a simple tattoo done almost a year ago and it's not good. It looked great at first, but once it started to heal the lines looked sloppy. As time has gone on, the three lines under it blurred so much you can't tell what it is. I'm now in the process of having it covered up at a different shop. The new artist I'm seeing said the lines wouldn't do that if the tattoo was done properly. This is my third tattoo and the only one I regretted. Hopefully I don't after it's fixed! read more

This yelp account was solely created to write this review in order to share with everyone my experience with Black Line Studio today. My friend and I booked an appointment yesterday to each get our respective pieces- both very small, a combination of script, numbers, and symbols. The individual over the phone reassured us that a consultation was not necessary based on this description. Awesome, stoked about it. We arrived on time and are asked nicely to come back in 10-20 minutes, so we did. We're back now. I then showed reception the formula that I wanted as well as a specific font that I wanted it in. The piece contained the pi symbol which I was told could not be converted on dafont.com which made my request "very complicating". Hmm.. Surely, an artist can design this and draw it out. After this conversation, we were then asked to wait an additional 20 minutes after which we were then told that only one of us was able to been seen as they were running behind. Bummer. So I was up. I finally met the artist. I began to reiterate to them the same conversation I had with reception about my tattoo, simultaneously showing her the photos. She looked confused. It was only then that both parties informed me that the artist did not speak English! Perdóname?!! I followed the artist upstairs an hour after the scheduled appointment and we literally discussed my tattoo through Google translate. We passed the laptop back and forth several times. I'm frustrated. I promise it's a simple piece. I even attempted to draw it out myself but even that needed a little clarification. I have lived and will always live in a land far, FAR, far away from racial discrimination but this is unacceptable. You are being paid lots of money to permanently ink peoples' bodies. How can I communicate and conceptualize what I want if I cannot be understood? Her drawings did not fit my description. I politely declined her services. I went back down to reception- a different person now, but someone who was present the entire time and therefore aware of my experiences. I blatantly told her why I did not go through with the tattoo and why I did not want to book another appointment. Not once did I receive an apology or any ounce of acknowledgement of any faults anyone may had thus far. I was happy and excited to read that this place had wonderful reviews and I don't for a second doubt that the artists here produce exceptional work and make people very happy. My artist was kind and I bet they are talented. Unfortunately, the language barrier was just that. Perhaps a real translator could be present next time or someone can notify clients in advance. What a waste of time. read more

I had first sent in my tattoo idea to Black Line, which was swiftly responded to by Lex who was fantastic!!! After a short discussion, she knew exactly what I wanted and chose Mark as the best suited artist. After reviewing his portfolio, I knew he was the right artist for me. On the day of my tattoo, I arrived at Black Line and was greeted by Alecsis, whom was extremely professional and polite and advised me Mark would be with me shortly. When the time came to get started, I gave Mark a few last minute changes and inputs which he confirmed was not a problem. Three hours later, I was left with the most amazing piece which will take just one more hour session to complete. Mark is extremely professional and his colour realism is out of this world. I would greatly recommend anyone to go to Black Line Tattoo Shop if you want the best in Toronto read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Almost every time I've dealt with these guys there has been a problem: They have a small selection of rings so most things have to be ordered. I waited two months for two rings and when they arrived they were different sizes. They actually argued with me that they were the same size so I made the rude staff measure them: I was right. Their staff turnover is pretty much revolving door so you will rarely see the same people twice. Another time I ordered a PA ring and they told me they would have it delivered to a location near me. When I went there, the store had closed PERMENANTLY! So I've called numerous times to have this sorted out and always been told that the owner will call me: NEVER HAPPENED. The last time I called the number that they gave me, the outgoing message says that the number is not valid. read more

Went to Black Line Studio on Queen for my first tattoo. The staff and artist were great. Would definetely go back for another tattoo.

I went in to BlackLine Studio for a consultation I saw Lorena about covering up a tattoo with an emotional backstory. I was really impressed with receiving a free consultation and with her honesty. Seeing her vision for the coverup was incredible - she didn't say she would just try to do what I asked... she was honest and real about what is possible given the nature of the tattoo I am covering. She quickly planned a different way to cover the tattoo than I had in mind AND keep the idea I had for covering it. I have had over a dozen tattoos by over 10 different artists I am so excited about getting a tattoo done by Lorena. After looking at her work and her cover ups I believe that she will by far the most talented artist I will have got a tattoo by and so I have booked my appointment with her for July! read more

Got my first tattoo here and asked for a lotus flower. The tattoo artist traced the lotus design i sent her. It was a simple line drawing that could have been easily redone ( the reference photo i sent was a photo taken at an angle so it was understandably distorted but she just went ahead and traced it) since it was my first tattoo i was quite hesistant to speak up and ask her to sketch it out herself so i kept silent but now i know to voice my opinion because the tattoo when put on my skin even got further distorted from the one she traced out. Also the price i got quoted was 90$~ minimum (with hst included)... ended up paying 150$ because they threw in the aftercare without asking me if i wanted it even though vitamin e ointment can def be bought elsewhere for cheaper than 15$. Its nice to see that most people had pleasant experiences here but unfortunately i didnt (probably because i wasnt a customer paying for a big fancy tattoo); i learned the hard way that tattoo artists do not really draw a design for you and sometimes they just want to get the job done as fast (the artist took literally 10-12 min) as possible so its better to come prepared. The lines were made with uneven pressure as well fully healed it looks even worse than the picture i took immediately after read more

Would not recommend. This is the only shop I've ever experienced having a $100 "sitting fee" that is completely separate from the hourly work. I went in to get a small tattoo which took about 20 minutes of inking and the whole thing costed me $320 (not including the after-care products they force upon you). Yes, their work was good but many shops have talented artists in the downtown core and do not charge a sitting fee. I don't appreciate this kind of business model as it's selfish and poor for customer retention. read more

I got a HUGE tattoo on my back and went to Aaron. He was great - laid-back, friendly, and easy to hang with; I'm sorry to say that Black Line lost him to Red Buddha, a tattoo shop he's opening in Peterborough. PETERBOROUGH?? I like the studio itself - it's clean, bright, and I felt really comfortable there. Although I didn't appreciate the dimwit who booked my appt. He didn't think to offer any suggestions to a new client (although this wasn't my first tattoo). I was being all proactive with questions: A) Should I wear a stretchy black bra in case I'm bleeding? B) Should I wear a black T-shirt? C) Anything I need to buy in advance? D) Do I need to swing by in advance with my ideas? The problem is, if someone is that Type A about things, they wouldn't be working in a tattoo shop - they'd be doing concierge at the Four Seasons. So, if you're a tatt newbie, bring snacks or eat first; wear black; don't make any plans for right after (you may need to go home and veg); be prepared not to move actively for a few days (as you'll be in some pain); wear loose, comfy clothes that you may bleed a bit on; in advance, have Saran Wrap and bandage tape prepared at home; have a friend lined up to apply moisturizer on your tattoo if it's in an awkward place (mine was on my back, so I needed help). Also, if it's a large tattoo, prepare to come in for a few sessions - make sure your artist will be around to finish it! Tattoo artists move around. I'd return there....there's another artist I have my eye on. We'll see...... read more

For the amount of money you spend it's not worth it. this place is ran by a scammer so he teaches everyone else how to scam you. Don't be fooled by the BEST IN THE CITY advertisement. Its paid to say that. It's clean and nice looking however the tacky hardwood finish cabinets are gross & showcase dirty old & dated pieces of jewelry. Nothing in the shop is genuine not even the prices of things. you'll be told your tattoo is 200 & you end up paying $350. It's foundation is built up on lies. We probably won't see this shop open for too long. The king location maybe has 3 good artists & the rest are very new to the game who have trouble doing dots. I checked their website out & only a select few artists have a good portfolio that looks like its costume work.. .the rest is GOOGLE images & they tweak and edit the images to make look authentic. Do not book here. trust me. read more

this place is horrible!! they could not thread the jewlery for my medusa, the piercer was shaky, and had no idea what he was doing. I sat with a needle in my face for apporx. 15 minutes untill the pericer took it out. I was irate, as they tried to tell me this happens often. It doesn't. I ended up getting it repericed by another, still unexperienced piercer, who could not get the ball on my jewlery, after he got the jewlery in. It was for free. Their prices are outragous and most deffinatly not worth the money. I have many peircings and must i say, this experience has turned me off peircings for a long time. read more

Lost my tattoo virginity here, and I'd say overall it was a good experience. Yeah, the place is obnoxious, and the guys at the front desk tend towards being douchebags, but I really liked Peter, the tattoo was exactly what I wanted, and the price turned out under what I expected. I've been back with friends since for them to get piercings and tattoos done, and they've been overall happy with the experience. The hard sell on the aftercare products was annoying, but really, it's the same stuff that everyone hustles, and they're relatively inexpensive. read more

Went here with a friend to get a piercing. Sterilization - Seriously? Handling the jewelry with bare hands, and the only way of sterilizing it is to soak it in alcohol? Is this suppose to be professional or a 14 year old girls house? Not to mention they took it from the display-which we were also allowed to handle. Imagine how many others have touched the same piece. I won't lie, I've bought jewelry here in the past that started flaking the colors off and had 2 pieces where the gem completely fell off. Never again. The prices are outrageous for the quality. Did I mention that the piercing was crooked and we were yelled at by the pompous owner? Apparently it's the body that's crooked, not the piercing. There's a few other nice places up the street that are great. read more

Do yourself a favor & DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. I've had friends who have had their tattoos done here in the past and they warned me the prices were ridiculous and that the staff was very unprofessional. I read online reviews that said exactly what my friends were telling me but my gut feeling said they were wrong. My gut feeling was so wrong. I could write a whole essay on my horrible experience here, but to summarize: - the manager, Joseph, is by far the most disrespectful, rude and unprofessional person i have ever encountered. absolutely no respect for his customers. - I got overcharged a couple HUNDREDS of dollars (My total came out to be $800+) after being quoted a price ($500-600) by his employee when I went in for my consultation 2 weeks prior to my tattoo appointment. His reason? He told me "My employees don't make the prices, i do" ....... what? I was promised a price by your employees, I paid my deposit of $150 under the impression that this promise would be kept and then AFTER my tattoo is done, you tell me that you're going to hike up the price because you say so? When i tried to make my point that its not fair that I was being charged more than what his employees promised me, he threatened to increase my bill another $100......... unprofessional. - Prior to the start of my tattoo session, i had established with both the artist and the manager that I was only being charged for the time spent doing the actual tattooing (putting ink into my skin) and that if the actual tattooing exceeded 3 hours that i would be charged $150 on an hourly basis. Drawing took an hour. The actual tattooing took 2 hours. - Even if they were to charge on a per hour basis at $150/ hour like they had mentioned if my tattoo session took more than 3 hours ( which it didn't), it should have added up to $450 if you include drawing time or $600 if you also include the time spent setting up equipment and just chatting. When i brought up this point, Joseph said ``well......... i`m not changing the price. Pay this price or I`ll take it up legally` really? no real explanation? Just pure arrogance - My conversation with the manager discussing all this was one of the most unpleasant experiences ever. I have never felt so disrespected and belittled in my life. Lessons learned: 1) DON`T GO TO BLACKLINE STUDIO 2) TRUST BAD REVIEWS 3) GET EVERYTHING DOWN IN WRITING read more

Came here looking for a conch hoop and paid $25. A little pricey (e.g. New Tribe is ~$17 and you could probably find a better price in Kensington) but I liked how it was a little thinner than most of the ones I had seen and I was too lazy to continue my search lol... I'm giving this place 3 stars because the employee that put my earring on irritated my ear A LOT and charged me $10 to put it on. I understand the reason for the fee, but I wasn't informed of this cost until AFTER the hoop was on. I even asked if they could put it on for me when I was looking at the jewelry and was not told anything. Had I known, I would've just put it on myself. read more

Never get a tattoo from someone who is impatient, lazy and thinks his own artistic vision is more important that what the client wants.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! I have read some reviews of people who's FIRST time was to go to this "swanky" place but I assure you, its all smoke and mirrors! If you have nothing to compare it to, then how relative is your opinion? I'm a seasoned veteran of getting ink. I have them all over my body done from when I was very young with amateur work from friends in high school that was eventually covered up when I got older. I've respected the art form and the industry and have learned a plethora from attending NIX annual festival and Montreal Tattoo festival, speaking to the industry's most prominent and highly respected artists from local and foreign studios and I have to tell you, this studio is a total farce. First let me tell you that in every time I went to the studio, they're staff was unpleasant and condescending. Never cracking a smile and speaking to you as just another person getting a tattoo without respecting that this is staying on forever. This set the pace for a very awkward experience. Second, this is probably one of THE most expensive shops that I've been too with average artists that are easily middle ground. You can see their artwork on their Facebook page. Some better than others, but rest assured, not worth $150/hour that they're charging. Third, let's talk price fixing. When I first called, they said it would be $150/hour. When I went in again to discuss the piece and have it drawn up, they said it would be $150/hour. Mid way through my ink they told me, sorry, they made a mistake and didn't realize it would be just over an hour. They said that any tribal work, they charge a minimum of 3 hours--MINIMUM OF THREE HOURS!!! I obviously couldn't stop and argue having done half of my tattoo, so had no choice but to pay. Finally, I got a friend of mine to email them with a similar design, same size and even said they could only do one hour at a time and you will not believe, they told him $150/hour, no more than that. If you want to save your money, then find another location to do your business because this one might look like a high end tattoo shop but clearly you can see how they can afford such a nice place--by overcharging their clients and doing it when they're half way done. When I started to do more research about the studio, I was surprised that they actually had a VERY bad reputation in the industry with deplorable customer service and renowned for price fixing. Save your money and your ink for a studio that respects you to return for more work. I would avoid, avoid, AVOID this studio at all costs!!! read more

So about a year ago i went to BLS to get a tat done on my shoulder. I went to a guest artist who was from Korea and he didn't speak much English which made me pretty uncomfortable. Luckily i had some friends there with me to pass the time (3.5 hour session). I don't feel the tat i got should have taken that long since it was pretty straight forward and not very detailed. They are way over priced and in my opinion purposely take their time to make more money. my tat cost me over $500 after tax. There was serious drop out in the pink ink and the lines weren't very crisp. When i first went there i found the staff to be judgemental and pretentious. The shop made me feel very uncomfortable. Its almost like if your not covered from head to toe in tat's your not "cool". In my opinion the staff come off as a bunch of duchbags. So it gets better. I recently went in to get the touch ups done on the shoulder piece i had done there a year ago, wow can i just tell you how it only made my opinion about this shop even worse! I called twice and asked about getting the touch up done and specifically asked if there would be any charges for the touch up and i was told both times that i was within the 1 year time line so there would be no charge. i made sure again that i wouldn't need to bring money with me. and i was told no it was FREE. The original artist who had done my tat had left the shop so they pawned me off onto another guest artist who didn't speak much English. He was pretty nice but very quiet. So i sit in the chair and some ass hole comes into the room and tells me that there charging me by the hour. I M LIKE WTF?!?! He tells me that i didn't purchase their after care package which costs an extra $30 on their already over priced tattoo's. I told the guy it wasn't happening that no one told me that. He tells me he'll just charge me the minimum $80 charge. Once again this wasn't going down. When i originally got my tat done i specifically remember having a conversation with the guy at the front desk about touch ups are free within the first year (and there was no mention about this rule about purchasing their aftercare products) And he even went as far as telling me not to buy there aftercare product because i could just go to the drug store and buy the same product for $10. Anyways the guy argued with me but agreed to do the touch up for free. Anyways the touch up only took about 20 mins at most and the guy did a SHIT ass job. I m not impressed AT ALL!!! He missed a bunch of spots and didn't even give me a proper mirror to look in. So now i have to call back to speak with the owner and if i do go back to get another touch up done i m going to have to deal with these pretentious ass wipes. At this point I might just go to another shop to do it. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL... STAY AWAY FROM BLS!!! Unless you yourself are a huge douchbag and think your the shit LMFAO read more

I actually had a horrible service here. I had asked for a touch up for a small tattoo I did, and they gave me the hardest time. First of all I didn't like what the girl did in the first place so I wanted another artist to re do it. The gentlemen by the frontdesk couldn't understand and we literally argued for 30 mins. He gave us the biggest attitude about it. I actually missed my appointment and he made me pay for it. read more

Amazing studio, friendly staff, and great service. I have been using Blackline's services for many years and would highly recommend it to anyone. From tattoos and piercings to great jewelry and gear. Great location but hard to find. I got two piercings here that were SERIOUSLY overpriced. I assumed if it was done well it would be worth it, but my navel piercing had complications. The barbell placed in my navel piercing was FAR too short, sinking into my skin tissue long after the swelling subsided, and starting to scar. The jewelry was standard size but the space between the entry and exit holes was more than it should've been. I had to go to a local piercer to have my belly ring replaced with a longer one. The workers are super friendly and the studio is really nice, but it doesn't make up for inadequate work, especially when it's overpriced. read more

If I could give this shop no stars, I would. I got my first tattoo done here and it was a horrible experience. Just horrible. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. I showed up for my scheduled consultation to find that the artist I wanted to speak to was with another client. I was given 5 minutes with the artist even though my consultation was booked for half an hour. On the day of the appointment to get my tattoo done, I got to the studio to find out that my artist was given the day off. ... I had booked my appointment two weeks in advance. I was told that the price of my tattoo would be lowered because of the huge misunderstanding. It took me an hour to get to the studio and I was really upset because I was really looking forward to getting my tattoo done. Ion, the apparent owner, came and spoke to me and apologized. I also attempted to return a piece of body jewelry that I purchased on the day of my consultation. I took it home to find it tarnished and obviously not the best material that the shop claimed it to be made of. Ion would not take back the bad jewelry but gave me a $20 gift certificate to use towards my tattoo. After rescheduling my appointment and finally getting the tattoo done, I walked up to the cash register to find that they had not lowered the price of the tattoo at all (I DEFINITELY wasn't trying to be stingy- I was 100% willing to pay full price for the tattoo but their customer service seriously pissed me off and I wanted something to be done). I was only allowed to use the $20 gift certificate I received, which was unrelated to the tattoo so I was confused as to why I still wasn't receiving a discounted price for the mix up. I left the shop relatively happy with the tattoo but seriously upset about their customer service. They didn't seem to care at all that I wasted my time coming to the shop to find that they gave my tattoo artist the day off. They didn't care that they sold me a bad piece of jewelry. I realized a few days later that I had forgotten I put down a $100 deposit towards the tattoo but paid full price for it. I went to the shop to ask for it back and was told to come back a few days later because they didn't have $100 in the till. I called the day of and spoke to Johnny, to find that nothing had been left, as I had been promised. Johnny later called back after speaking to Ion and said that the $100 would be there for me. My boyfriend picked up the deposit because I had to be at work but informed me that the shop was very nonchalant about the whole ordeal. I would NOT recommend this shop to anybody. Their customer service really sucks. Yeah, the place is clean and looks professional but it really isn't. They're disorganized and they don't give a shit about their customers. I paid half a grand to get my tattoo done and I would have taken my money elsewhere if it weren't for the fact that the artist I wanted to do my tattoo was a guest artist at their studio. If you want to pay $500 for a tattoo and show up to find that they gave your artist the day off, Black Line Studio is the way to go. If you want to be treated like a customer, don't step foot anywhere near this place. Worst customer service experience ever. I am seriously scared for anyone who dares bring their business to this shop. read more

I had a generally very disappointing experience with this place. The tattoo artist was so busy trying to show off her insecure rock-n-roll attitude and going super fast, that she was making really dumb, obvious mistakes with the inking, colouring outside lines, making crooked lines and really inconsistent thicknesses. When I received the initial estimate I thought "ok it's a little bit high but that means they'll nail it" - which is more important to me than the price. Not so. This place charges pro prices for an amateur job. Avoid. read more

Black Line Studio was clean and the piercer was knowledgable and friendly. However I strongly feel I was ripped off. I initially called on the phone to book an appointment, and was quoted a good price and was even given a discount. I told them I wanted 2 lobe piercings but later found out I was only quoted for one unknowingly. When I was choosing my jewelry, I felt the different pieces and gauges were not well explained to me (as I'm not that knowledgable with piercings), and so ended up getting a much thicker gauge than I originally wanted because he had already unpackaged it. I was okay with it though. Everything was sterile and clean, and the procedure went smoothly. When I went to pay though, I was extremely surprised as the bill had jumped by over $140 from the price I was originally quoted. The prices were explained but I still couldn't make sense of it (my sister had gotten hers for $170 less elsewhere a week earlier). Now, a week later, my piercing fell off in the shower. I called the shop and they offered a few suggestions which I had already attempted, but offered nothing more, basically saying "it happens". It's a bit upsetting that after paying well over $200, the piercing fell out and I will now have to buy another one, spending even more money, and also had to manually reopen my piercing. Overall, not a good experience for me. read more

My husband got his first tattoo here with a Lithuanian tattoo artist Martynas Šnioka. Besides Martynas being amazing, the studio does a wonderful job overall from booking you for an appointment, especially when spaces are very limited, to walking you out at the end of the session. Very friendly front desk service, no judgement on how much art you already have (or have not) on your body. Clean stations and attentive artists (while I was waiting I had a chance to observe others at play :) ) I agree that they do push on selling the tattoo cleaners and aftercare; however, I believe there is not much of a price difference from other places. Also, I wouldn't jeopardize lower price to the proper healing of the skin and a beautiful tattoo. The impression was so good, that I already booked my appointment at their Don Mills location. read more

I forfeited $200 just to go to anywhere but Black Line. But maybe that's my fault putting down a deposit despite my terrible first and second impression. Had a difficult time booking a consultation, it seems as if my email requesting an appointment wasn't actually fully read. It took three emails with the exact same information before I finally got an appointment with the artist I wanted. On the day of my consultation I arrived five minutes early as it suggests on the website and checked in with the receptionist. I then waited forty five minutes to talk to the artist, for not even ten minutes. So after all this I probably shouldn't have made an appointment and given them $200 of my money, but I gave the benefit of the doubt. I relayed to her the specifics of what I wanted, and from the reference pictures what I wanted to add and change. And I was very specific with what I was looking for. I sent three pictures which all looked similar in style and design. A few days later I saw a picture on my artists Instagram story that I assumed was my piece because one of the reference photos was beside it and it had a few of the things I had asked for. Only the picture she had drawn looked nothing like what I had asked for and wasn't remotely close to the reference pictures I provided, in style. I emailed the store to clear up the situation as I didn't want her to spend anymore time on a drawing I wasn't going to have tattooed on me, and I figured to would be better to have it figured out before I show up for my appointment. My email wasn't answered but the next day she had another drawing on her Instagram of my piece. So I knew the message was relayed to her, the email just wasn't acknowledged. Problem was, the second drawing also didn't look anything like what I had asked for. Thinking maybe the third time would be the charm, and not wanting to give up $200, I decided to draw out what I had in mind. Because although I thought I was very specific about it, maybe I hadn't been. I emailed them again with my drawing and apologized for being picky, but being that this will permanently be on my body, I didn't think being picky was such a terrible thing. This email was also ignored and I haven't seen any further drawings on my artists Instagram, nor have I heard from the artist or anyone at Blackline. Given I had put down a $200 non-refundable deposit, I figured I would try to make it work. But after this horrible experience it doesn't seem worth the $200 to be tattooed at such unprofessional establishment. I would not recommend this store to anyone, not a single part of my experience here has been positive. read more

my review is based on piercings, I can't speak for their tattoo. I called to ask about pricing and to ask about walk ins. they told me they prefer people to make an appointment and told me abut a special offer with the specific piercer I was scheduled with. When I got there the piercer they scheduled me with was not in, but someone else said he'd take me. I had to wait quite a while while he set up, which would have been fine if it had've been a walk in, but they made me make an appointment. As for the piercings, I had 4 done on one ear, which they initially said they wouldn't do, but due to my high pain tolerance they ended up doing. The piercer used a clamp for all of them and had a lot of difficulty putting the balls on the ends of the barbells. But overall I was happy enough with my piercing experience. The reason they get a 2 star rating from me is because their aftercare instructions are horrible and they really force the sale of their products. They didn't recommend sea salt soaks??? and they instructed movement and spinning of jewellery when washing with soap. anyone who has piercings knows that this is essentially opposite of what you should do. All of the piercings had trouble healing due to regularly getting bumps and later when I went to get some more piercings on that ear from another studio the piercer there told me the jewellery was completely wrong for the piercings which is why I was having so many problems. He switched them all out for me and everything has been fine since. Would not recommend based on their aftercare instructions alone read more

Had a phenomenal tattoo done here- so happy with it. The service was good and the tattoo artist that I had drew several sketches as options for me; it really mattered to her that I liked it. It was not cheap though- my beautiful dove tattoo was about $500. I'll always pay more for something that's on my body for the rest of my life! Really cool vibe in the place too- you feel like you're in a boutique business unlike mass tattoo producing places like Adrenaline or New Tribe. I would go back! read more

I've spent the better part of over a year researching tattoo shops around town, and will say that I am very happy in my decision to go with Black Line Studio. I was quite shocked at the emaculate environment in the shop and the cool/modern vibe when arriving (was not what I was expecting or have experienced in other parlors). I dealt mainly with Joseph and Sarah who were receptive, helpful and flexible in what I was looking for. Not many people in this industry would have the patience and ability to accommodate my needs. I was offered ideas, options, alternatives and Sarah was great in going with the flow and making sure I was happy and my needs were met. My pre-existing tattoos are hidden due to my profession so I'm a pretty clean cut lookin' gal; I've found that not all places are as welcoming based on this which is certainly not the case here. Very come one come all and didn't make me feel out of my element once. I have wanted a particular piercing for years but never been in a shop that made me feel willing to ask further (I work in the medical field and any sign of unsanitary practices turns me right off). The level of service and studio here (cleanliness & vibe) actually had me asking for details and learning more about what I wanted. I would say the only reason it wasn't a full five stars was cost. I certainly don't mind paying for quality. But for a small, simple 10 minute tat the total came to $150. Knowing how the costs broke down would have helped, but that is the only gripe I can possibly say I have (and I'm pretty friggin' discerning). The experience, environment, staff and getting exactly what I wanted in the end can justify cost. read more
