After extensive research of searching for a reputable artist who specializes in fine point/single needle, I came across Black Widow Tattoo. Prior to my appointment, I corresponded with Jackson who is the shop manager. His professionalism and patience made my experience with booking my appointment very comforting. Although I asked him a million questions and our email correspondence went back and forth many times, he was always quick to respond and addresses my inquiries and concerns in the utmost pleasant manner. Jackson is an incredible manager and in my opinion, a huge asset to Black Widow. When I met Jeremy and discussed the piece I was looking at achieving, he was very knowledgeable with his direction and feedback. When I showed him the original location on my wrist where I was looking at placing my tattoo, he immediately advised me that he highly did not recommend that placement as with the movement of the wrist, the tattoo will constantly twist and look distorted. To humour my stubborn self, Jeremy placed the stencil on the location I wanted and I immediately saw why he detoured me from that placement. After finally placing the stencil on an area of my wrist close to my original choice but did not cause the image to disfigure, I was still very hesitant. Chino, who is the owner of Black Widow saw my uncertainty and took his time to address my concerns along with Jermey. Chino is truly a pleasure to speak with. Between his knowledge of the tattoo industry and his kind nature, he reassured me that I would love the finished product. I am so grateful that Chino and Jeremy took their time to ease my mind as I am beyond happy with my tattoo. Jeremy's work is absolutely amazing. His talent and precise fine lines are incredible. He is very skilled with the style of fine point/single needle. Jeremy is, without a doubt, meant to be an artist. I could not have asked for or imagined a better finished product. My recent visit to Black Widow surpassed all my expectations. The shop is beyond clean, the staff are amazingly friendly and the artists are talented. Black Widow Tattoo is nothing but 5 stars with out a doubt. I was a rookie getting my first tattoo done so I had no idea what to expect. From my initial inquiry to the consultation and through out the whole process the whole staff were nothing but awesome. My tattoo artist was Chino who I highly recommend to anyone. He's a really cool dude! extremely talented and professional. Just an overall great guy! I was getting a Biomechanical half sleeve tattoo. A fairly big tattoo with lots of detail. The first thing that stood out about Chino was he was the only artist I consulted with that was not only confident he could do it but genuinely excited about doing it. He loved the Idea and wasn't looking to change anything about it. Like I said I was a rookie and was nervous about doing it but his excitement for it got me excited for it. He Answered all my questions and never made me feel dumb for asking. I had three appointments that were each 4 hours long. He has a really nice clean setup. A comfortable chair and a TV with Netflix to watch which was great because I couldn't imagine sitting there for that long with nothing. Another great thing about Chino was he is certainly a straight up honest dude. I certainly felt he could have charged me for another hour in each of the first two sessions. I was there for closer to 5 hours each time but of course there are breaks and what not but as mentioned with it being my first tattoo I had no Idea so he could have charged me the extra hour and I wouldn't have given it any thought but that speaks to how great and professional of a tattoo artist he is. As for the tattoo, It came out great! He did an amazing job! I was very happy with it! Overall my experience at Black Widow was amazing! I would highly highly recommend Black Widow Tattoo to anyone and everyone looking to get a Tattoo done. I can only speak to how great Chino was but I have no doubt that every artist there is top notch and they have an artist for any Idea and they all would absolutely kill it! After reading so many positive reviews I decided to get another item off my bucket list and travel over 3 hours and get my tattoos done at Black Widow Tattoo. From the beginning of reaching out to the studio, I got a extremely quick reply from the shop manager "Jackson". Jackson's professionalism and knowledge, he was able to match me up with one of there extremely talented artist best suited for me after going through and sorting out all of my ideas. Being from out of town, Jackson was able and took the time to help me find accommodation and parking close by. He truly knows how to take care of his clients. Upon walking into the studio I could not believe how clean, sterile, modern and inviting this studio is. First impressions are lasting ones especially when it's for a first time tattoo. As for Vince.... I can't say enough about this artist. Being a dual citizen "Belgian & "Canadian"he was able to take all my ideas and thoughts create 2 unique, beautiful out of this world drawings. From the beginning, he explained the entire process, going over the drawings to make sure I was happy and it's what I wanted to the end explaining the aftercare required. Vince is truly a master in what he does and has truly mastered the art of tattooing. His portfolio says it all. Vince is in no rush and always has your wellbeing at the top of his agenda. I just can't say enough and how comfortable this first time experience was thanks to these two incredible guys. Booked a tattoo with BW/Vince in about May of this year. Got to the shop in November. BW was super accommodating in setting up times. COVID put a wrench in the plans for both them and I, so their flexibility was greatly appreciated. Their response times were always quick and incredibly helpful. Great pre tattoo experience. Finally got to the shop in November and it was gorgeous. Super clean, amazing artwork on the walls, nice environment, great vibe. Jackson, the shop manager, was super friendly and welcoming upon my entry. Met Vince shortly after, an absolute gem. Great guy. The whole time I was there both before, during, and after the tattoo, Vince made me feel right at home. Always asking how I'm feeling, making sure I'm good. Worth mentioning, about 2 days before the appointment I called the shop to see if I could make a small addition to the tattoo after the recent death of a loved one. They were happy to make the addition and were very accommodating. The tattoo itself, unbelievable. I'm still blown away by the quality of the work that Vince produced and I got it over 6 weeks ago. Every time I look at it I still smile and get goosebumps. Nothing more to say, unreal tattoo. The healing process was simple and easy to follow. I took a trip to see my best friend up in Toronto and fell so in love with Canada I decided to get a piece to remember my trip. My best friend stated he had followed black widow for some time and specifically Aiko because of her amazing detail and TLC put into every tattoo. We walked in and made an appointment the following day and happened to get booked with this amazing woman completely by chance. I have to say I'm extremely picky, even though I decided to get a tattoo completely on a whim, I still wanted to make sure I was making the right choice. I paid my deposit and quickly looked up her work to make sure this was the right decision for me. I was blown away by her IG page because everything I was told was 100% true, she was amazing at what she did. When I showed up she was so humbled by me having this piece done by her which made me so comfortable. The tattoo was painless, PAINLESS! I have 10 amazing pieces that I can't say was "painless" but whatever she did worked. And hour and a half of amazing conversion later I was done. I feel like I took a piece of her with me and I can't say that about any other piece I have. It's small, stereotypical, and I'm more in love with it than my own prized pieces. I believe what makes this tattoo shop even more outstanding is the energy in it. I dealt with Jackson and Jeremy directly, and there's no mistaking that their first instinct is to take care of their clients. Jackson was already welcoming the moment I opened the door; he was chill to talk to while he explained the basic rules in their shop. He was patient in answering my e-mails leading up to the consultation and even after. Jeremy made sure my first tattoo experience will be exciting; I was really nervous the night before! He helped me modify the design of the tattoo and pointed out the right placement of where it should go on my arm. You can tell he's genuinely confident and happy in what he's doing which made me feel even more safe and satisfied that he's my first tattoo artist (and probably the only one!). The tattoo turned out amazing; the line work is meticulous that I can't stop staring at how detailed it is. I'm a hundred times cooler now because of it. You can't go wrong with Black Widow Tattoo. Jesse and Jackson were amazing with me. They are professional and super kind. My situation was unusual. I had planned to get my tattoo in the summer of 2023. The week of the appointment, I had to go in for an angiogram and open heart surgery later that year. I had no choice but to cancel on them. I felt terrible, but they responded with incredible support and understanding and allowed me to postpone for a year, although I was able to get my tattoo sooner. Have I mentioned just how talented Jesse is? Not only is she a wonderful person, she has an eye for details I completely missed. She brings art to what she does. I was a "newby" to tattoos, and Jesse was able to calm me down and gently check in with me throughout. I knew I was in great hands. Maybe the best thing is that I felt Jesse's genuine excitement about her work mirror my own excitement about what she accomplished. That's a good feeling. It was a great experience and within 30 minutes after leaving the studio I was wondering "okay, what will be my next tattoo?" I think that says it all. Great studio with wonderfully talented people. Jackson, the man on the email and behind the counter suggested that Vince was the guy for the tattoo I wanted. The customer service was incredible and the meeting with Vince( and Jess) was very comfortable. I am 45 and it has been 20 years since my first and only tattoo up to this point. I have a 4 year old daughter and this was the reason for this work. I was nervous whether I had given Vince enough information. I showed up on game day and Vince showed me his rendering. I was blown away as he had captured what I wanted and more. The whole experience was professional and incredible. Vince is an incredible artist and he knew what the tattoo meant to me. Here I thought I would be leaving the shop with mascara streaks down my face because I have low tolerance for pain and I'm a complete wuss ... However, I gotta say that the overall experience was a pleasant one, which my bf will also attest to. From the moment we walked in we felt taken care of - especially it being each of our first tattoos. Jackson was extremely nice and never made us feel out of place, even if we were newbs to the whole tattoo experience. For the tattoo itself, we are so happy with the way it turned out! Aiko, did an awesome job with epitomizing our vision onto the perfect canvass. Once it was my turn to sit in the hot seat (well more like lie down), she made the process completely seamless while engaging in friendly chatter (which definitely eased me up). I've been tattooed in shops across Canada and Black Widow is by far the best I've been to. The professionalism, caliber of creativity and craftsmanship and dedication to the customer experience puts them in a league of their own. I have worked with two different artists at this shop and they were both incredibly kind and ridiculously talented. The artwork is extraordinary, the execution flawless, and the spirit of collaboration was present in everything they did. Each time I have been in the shop I have felt safe and comfortable, and as someone who suffers with C-PTSD, that is not something that is easy to come by. The entire process each time I have been tattooed in this shop has been exceptional - from the communication with Jackson the shop manager, into the consultation with the artists, throughout the actual tattooing experience and their thorough follow up with aftercare. Followed another one of my favourite Toronto artists to Black Widow and couldn't be happier that I did. Came into see Roz for a piece of her flash we'd discussed months ago, and it turned out SO adorable. For this appointment I was on the second floor, which was a really nice experience since it's so quiet and private. I can imagine that it would be an ideal spot to get a tattoo done in a more intimate area of your body. The tattoo itself was quick and painless (which I've always found with Roz!!) and the fine lines in it are perfect. Roz is a unique and creative artist, and I can't wait to come back and get the next piece we discussed soon :) I have a feeling she's going to get really popular really quickly here. The front-house staff were friendly and funny as usual (Jackson needs his own Yelp review, honestly); you can tell they actually give a shit about your experience, are appreciative of your business and treat each piece as meaningful - regardless of what it might be. I just recently went to Black Widow for my first session for a self-harm scar cover up on my legs. I booked before COVID really hit and despite having no option but to postpone my appointments, Jackson and the rest of the staff at Black Widow were very communicative and kept me in the loop the whole time. I always felt like a priority to them and because of the nature of my tattoo, it was very heartwarming and appreciated because they seemed just as eager to help me get past this part of my life as I am. Had my first tattoo done with Dreegz and I had a great experience. The shop is extremely clean and professional. The placement I wanted was a bit tricky (straight down my spine) but Dreegz nailed it. They're also extremely good with follow up. They gave me detailed after care instructions and I got an email a few days after asking how it was healing. I did need to book a touch up for one small spot and they were extremely accommodating - Dreegz responded to my email right away and booked me in for about a week after despite how busy his schedule is. They don't allow friends/family past the waiting area during the tattooing process which I initially thought was strange but it keeps the atmosphere a lot more calm and personal. You definitely pay a premium for the work here but it's worth it for the quality and the experience. I'd definitely recommend. read more

I absolutely love Black Widow. I've been to other studios and other artist and nothing compares. The care and customer service taken by the whole team is unmatched and has me going back again and again. I've had work done by both Jesse and Guido and I've had the chance to meet a handful of the other artists. I love the attention to detail displayed by everyone, specifically when it comes to placement. It's not unusual for an artist there to get a second opinion on stencil placement - I wouldn't have it any other way. Jackson, the shop manager is quick to respond and all around great to communicate with. He follows up both before your appointment with a reminder email and then after as well. If you are considering a tattoo, there is no better place to go. The staff at Black Widow Tattoo are amazing. All of the tattoo artists and Jackson, the shop manager, took an active interest in my tattoo, coming by frequently to see how it was going. Jesse is absolutely fantastic. Her attention to detail is excellent and her line work is beyond what I could have expected. She really brought my tattoos to life with the shading she did after she completed the line work. Jesse's work was so amazing on my first tattoo that one week later I returned for a second. I am not sure which I like more, as I love them both. I came to see Jeremy at Black Widow for a rather large scar cover up tattoo on my lower abdomen. I'm already pretty picky when it comes to tattoos and this one I knew I was going to be the most picky about strictly because of the size and placement. Even from the initial consult I knew I was in good hands. Jeremy is a phenomenal artist and all the guys are the shop are incredibly welcoming and just insanely talented. All three sessions on my stomach were made a pleasure because of the people who work there. I couldn't recommend this shop anymore. Super friendly staff, incredible artists, and no attitude. And when you're being a whiny baby about tattooing your stomach they'll tell you you're sitting like a champ. Amazing! Came to Black Widow back in October to have my own design tattooed by a pro. I was absolutely blown away by the service and Vince's artistry and had to book another appointment right away. This time, I gave Vince my idea and told him to run with it. He came up with a beautiful design for me and the tattoo couldn't have been any better. In addition, even though I was booked for February but had to have my appointment rescheduled due to lockdowns, Jackson was always incredibly communicative and kept me updated along the way, all the way up to my appointment date on August 12th, with even a follow up email on the 15th.
