I recently got a tattoo here and it was a very pleasant experience! Firstly, I did the booking online--filled in their online form and they contacted me after via email to get more specifics for the tattoo I was requesting. From there, they were able to give me a price estimate, match me with a suitable artist, and schedule my appointment. They required an $80 + tax deposit (nonrefundable) which is deducted from the total price of the tattoo. I did have to reschedule my appointment once, which they accommodated. However, their rules/fine print does seem a bit complicated for rescheduling if you need more than two. Upon entering the shop, there was no one at the front desk (I had an 11:00 AM appointment), but another artist working there pointed me towards the waiver. My artist came in and seated me, then we discussed the tattoo I wanted. She was able to make the requested changes to the type (I got a script tattoo) on the spot, and we got to tattooing! I had Athena and she made me feel super comfortable throughout the experience, making sure to check in on me every few minutes. The interior has a great design, is sanitary, and filled with nice artists and staff. I also love that there's such a high quality, reputable tattoo shop in Markham! If you're ever having any sort of crisis in your life or need to redirect some energy, getting a piercing is the best distraction in my opinion. A little bit of pain for an instant change to your self and then lasting pain and care while it heals! I should get a hobby. I did a lot of research for different studios around the city. A main concern of mine was the quality of the piercers. I liked that their Instagram did feature the work of their piercers and tagged them so you could check out what they've done in the past. They list their piercing prices on the website and they differ based on placements. I found their prices to be average. Some places were way higher (double in some cases!) across the board, even for simple piercings. I prebooked online and was able to select a time. I had to pay the piercing fee upfront which was $40 for a rook piercing. They clearly explain the fees while booking. On the day of the piercing, they recommend that you eat at least 3 hours before your appointment. They have a lot of reception staff working there. I was kind of surprised! I had to fill out a waiver that had a bit of information on my health history (mostly to do with whether I had an issues with bleeding) and whether needles would impact me. I was taken to the piercing area at the back after that. I checked out the jewelry first. I was never rushed to pick faster which I appreciated. Jewelry isn't cheap! I liked how transparent my piercer was with the costs of jewelry. They had a tablet that was able to quickly pull up prices so I could decide what I was okay with. Some of these pieces were several hundred dollars so it was good to know before checkout. All in all my total price tag was around $350 and if you worked out the earlier math from before you can see how much some of the jewlery cost! It is definitely a little pricey but expected. They carry great brands like BVLA and Junipurr so it's not unexpected. One thing I was a little disappointed about was that they didn't carry much in rose gold, only white and yellow gold. They carry some piercing aftercare there like the Neilmed rinses which are a little expensive at $22 a bottle but convenient since you can get it during your appointment. read more

Before getting into the details, let's do the TLDR. My husband and I got 2 very different tattoos here from 2 artists with very different styles. Me: small, cursive, girly script on upper back (Alexandra, IG: diflooo). Him: full-out Asian-style tiger tattoo on his calf (Karen, IG: karen_tattoo). Both turned out fantastic! We are at least 20% cooler than we were before. If you're in GTA, you 100% have heard of Chronic Ink if you've even thought of tattoos. Everyone and their mom goes to CI. One, they have been around for awhile, won quite a few awards, and are very reputable. Two, they have a LOT of artists. They basically cover any style you want, from the bold to the minimal, from the black and white to the watercolour. And they're all so talented. Just take a look at their IG portfolios. Damn. Overall, the experience was a positive one. The receptionist who did our consultation, Wendy, was very friendly and patient. The artist that I wanted to do my tattoo was in the Toronto location, but lo and behold, someone in the Markham store does a similar style, and surprise, she's free in an hour! Got my tat basically right then and there, right after getting a bubble tea to calm the nerves. Alexandra was lovely. Through a combination of her skills and the tattoo subject/placement, it was a surprisingly mild experience. Karen, who is a master of her Asian-style brushstroke craft, banged out my husband's calf tattoo in 3 hours at a later appointment. He died. But that's due to a combination of factors including calf sensitivity and broader strokes/shading. But now he's got a work of art on his leg! Worth it. Here's something I'm a bit iffy about. You will NOT get an artist to sketch your idea at your consultation (as I mistakenly believed). This happens at your actual appointment. The "consultation" is just with the receptionist who listens to your idea and recommends an artist. Even with my husband's bigger calf piece, he only had an additional 10 min "consultation" with the actual artist where she showed him a picture of what he wanted. As we're both first-timers, we don't know whether this is the norm. But I will say, BECAUSE we're first-timers, it was a little nerve-wracking. It means you have to basically come in with an exact idea of what you want. That being said, if you've got a clear idea, and a pocketful of cash, Chronic Ink is a good place to get inked. Their skill is undeniable and the results are addicting. Even after 3 hours of skin-scraping, cold sweating pain, my husband was in the car saying, "...I want more tattoos". This is my go-to place for piercings, my cousin got a double helix piercing by Vince. He was very professional throughout the entire process, explaining the procedure thoroughly which helped calmed my cousin down perfectly. Swift and finished in half an hour, granted this is slightly on the pricey side ($50 for each individual piercing on your ear with the needle and $100 for each stud). Prices came down a whopping $300 + $25 for the cleaning adhesive. If you're one to stay safe and 100% clear from infections then chronic ink is the place. read more

HORRIBLE service, I booked a consultation which wasn't necessary at all, they offered no advice so I simply came in just to book my actual appointment. On the day of my appointment, they CANCELLED on me after delaying already since the tattoo artist was running late. I booked my appointment 2 weeks in advance and when I got there at 6:30pm they made me wait AN HOUR before letting me know that my artist would not get to me. I promptly voiced my dissatisfaction and they refunded me my $90 deposit. Just because this location has built a reputation for themselves, they think their time is more valuable than their client's. TLDR; I booked my appointment 2 weeks in advance, they cancelled on me cuz the artist was running late. Got my deposit refunded and going elsewhere. You should too. read more

Ordered a set of face masks on March 21,2020. As of today, I have still not received them. Sent off one email next day to ask if I could add one item, they responded that they couldn't as the order is being processed already. Sent them another email last week asking if the order has shipped, and if not, can I cancel it since it's been 3 weeks already. They responded (again) that tre order is in process. They are shipped from Ontario to me (in Ontario). Why should this take to long. I'll wait till June 21 and then file a complaint with Visa for refunds. I am pretty heavily tattoo'd. Full left sleeve and 1/2 right sleeve and my left leg. I don't think I would even consider Chronik Ink for future inking sessions. Seems like a pretty sketchy shop if they can't even get an online order out in a reasonable time. Great place for tattoos. They have many tattoo artists, many of which were apprentices at the shop before becoming an artist. I feel they are constantly trying to perfect their art and improve their skills am by attending seminars and learning from their mentors. They are really the biggest name in the GTA for tattoos, and many of their artists have won many awards. Very clean and organized work spaces. I was reluctant to walk into this new shop on kennedy and denison (if you want to know why, read my other HORRID review on CI in pacific mall) This store is HUGE. Like, from the outside it already looks big, but as you walk in, it's so much bigger. I went in to see Martin (tattooxtran on ig) because he has the best watercolour tattoos in toronto and I was so excited when he got moved to a closer location to me because I've always been fond of watercolour tats. I went in, and immediately I could tell how sterile and clean this shop is. It is so spacious and bright. Tattoo artists work quite far from each other, unlike the small pmall location. There's even a couch waiting area with water machines and everything. The portfolios are amazing, all the good artists got moved to this location! (Tristen, Martin etc) No lie, Chronic Ink has some of the most talented artists in the biz, all at one shop. Unlike last time, I was greeted immediately as soon as I entered and I wasn't intimidated. The guys at the front were very nice and didn't talk down to me or sound condescending. Even though I didn't schedule a consultation, Martin took a quick break to see what my boyfriend and I wanted to get done. The customer service is a lot better than the pacific mall location. I got my nose piercing done here about 2 years ago and I had a great experience! It was a little pricy but the service was nice and I felt really assured by how clean and hygienic everything was + my piercer seemed to know what he was doing. The real reason I think they deserve 5 stars though is that about two weeks after I got my nose piercing, I accidentally yanked it out after a shower late at night and couldn't get the jewelry back in. When I dropped in the next day the same guy took a quick look and told me I would have to re-pierce my nose. So he pulled out a new needle and sanitized my jewelry and re-pierced me. When I went to pay though the piercer said "it's a Friday and I know you're a student, you don't really have to pay me if you want it's cool". He was so kind I couldn't believe it!! Two years later and I have a nice clean piercing that I love. So yeah, a solid 10/10 for me. read more

I got a Lion tattoo and I was directed to Steve - BKS Instagram handle. He was also supposed to do an Asian dragon as well but based on the work on the lion tattoo I did not go back. The details on the lion tattoo were good but it wasn't the size I was expecting. I also spent $270/hr for 7 hours sitting in 1 session and I feel like I spent too much for the size and details of the tattoo. Also there was no background and he pretty much just copied the stencil without an artistic flair. Even before arriving he thought I had asked for smoke coming from the eye but fixed it last minute but the eye still had work to be done. There was not enough pre-work upfront conversations of what he was going to do and he wasn't very personable and seemed rigid. Chronic Ink might have won awards but it all boils down to the artist you get and if they have worked with your skin type. Not completely satisfied. read more

Not such a fan of my piece from the Eg location. Went in last year for a small simple eye design on my forearm, came out with a double lined (not asked for), scar tissued, deep ass disaster on my arm. I'm pretty sure I was a new guys guinea pig or something. I thought it really didn't matter who you got at this place because all the artists are very reputable. I was wrong indeed. I very soon after went for a consult to remove. I have finished my 7th removal session on this tattoo and it is so thick and deep in my skin, the process is taking forever. I have learned my lesson and won't be coming back. FYI for tattoo removal services, I recommend Shane at fading fast. He's amazing. read more

Had my first session today with Tristan, and it went great. Did a 7 hour session, had roughly 3 breaks. He took care of me really well, making sure I was doing okay. He has a great personality and is really easy going. Most importantly is the work, he did a phenomenal job on the outline and design. Writing my review for the Markham location because the piercer Courtney L. told me she works here mostly (I got her at the downtown location). Really enjoyed having her pierce my rook. Lovely to talk to and seemed to really enjoy herself while still caring a lot about my health and well being and making sure I knew everything about what she was going to do. My friend who was with me said she would go find her for her next piercing as well. After doing a ton of research, I am so HAPPY I chose Chronic Ink to get my first tattoo done! I was super nervous because A) it was my first tattoo and B) I chose to do it on my rib. I've heard a ton of people saying the rib was the worst spot to get tatted because of the "excruciating" pain and that I must be crazy to get my first tattoo done in that spot. Well, it's a good thing I am stubborn and a horrible listener because in all honesty, it wasn't all that bad! And if anyone knows me, knows I am the BIGGEST baby when it comes to pain. I will literally cry from a paper cut. My tattoo artist was Joanna and I commend her for doing such an amazing job. She re-sized and re-aligned the stencil a few times on me (I have a slight OCD). Thank you for being super patient with me! She honestly did such a perfect job. Her lines are so clean like OMG. Throughout the entire thing, she was super gentle and constantly asked me if I was okay. And just like that my tattoo was done in under 30 minutes. The staff was extremely helpful and professional. The email and text reminders/confirmations were great! The overall atmosphere of the place was amazing. Everyone seemed like a big creative, artistic, tatted family. I highly, highly recommend this place to anyone thinking of getting ink done. Every single artist in the shop are remarkably talented. If you have OCD like me and like your script lines to be clean and dainty then go to Joanna. She is amazing at what she does. Came here based on the good reviews, didn't leave with a good experience. Came to get my nose and ear piercings done. The piercer in charge was giving me and my friend attitude the whole time we were there. She constantly gave us vague answers to our questions and comments. When we asked how would we know if it's infected, her response was, "well it's your body, how would you not know". Or when we asked why their products were better than others, she replied saying "well it's used by doctors" Also the bill came upto $200, two ear piercings and a nose + some salt water. read more

I went to Chronic Ink at Markham location, for Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP). I did 4 sessions with technician Mr. Joe, from July 5 ~ July 26, on every Sunday. I was promised by Joe that by the 4th session, the micropigmentation density will cover my bald spots, but I was disappointed after my 4th session. My bald spots have improved, but still looks quite bald due to low density and the pigmentation colour too light. I was charged for another session (5th session) with "half price" of one session, and I'm over my budget now. I liked my new hairline though, and Joe is a nice and friendly guy. Just wish I will get the result that I wanted, because I paid over $2300 for SMP , and my head is just bald at the centre. read more

Got my rook piercing here a few days I am in love!!! I walked in without an appointment and they were more than happy to accommodate me - I only had to wait around 10 minutes tops. They got me to fill out some paper work and gave me a granola bar to eat when I told them I hadn't eaten in the last 3 hours. The piercer (I didn't catch his name but he was AMAZING) very calmly talked me through what he was going to do. He first marked out 2 possible placements for my piercing (1 more subtle and 1 more visible) and let me choose my preferred placement. I was so nervous and scared because I heard rook piercings were one of the most painful ear piercings but the piercer was super patient and nice. He walked me through aftercare steps super in-depth afterwards too. The only reason this place isn't a 5/5 is because it's on the pricier side. I did some research and other reputable tattoo and piercing parlours charged around $50 for a rook piercing. I paid around $100 total including the aftercare kit (saline spray and soap) for mine. But Chronic Ink uses titanium for their piercings compared to surgical steel which might also be why it was more pricey. Overall, definitely didn't mind paying a bit more for quality service and quality piercing! The shop was very clean and sectioned off so you could have some privacy when getting your piercing done and everyone was super friendly and very chill. ***UPDATE: I was experiencing some issues with my piercing about a month after and emailed Chronic Ink. They replied an hour later and were SUPER HELPFUL!! Blown away by how amazing the customer service here is!!!!! read more

Came here in July to get a tragus piercing, I emailed a head of time and was responded to in a reasonable amount of time. Piercings they do as a walk in, staff was friendly, experienced, professional and answered all my questions before hand. They take care that you have eaten and are well hydrated so you don't faint or pass out. I went to the location at Mt Pleasant and Eglinton. The store was clean and organized. Staff member helped me pick out my earring. Pricing is a bit pricey but for the professional attitudes and attention that was given before and after my appointment, I would recommend and go back. read more

I had a TINY tattoo done around my left wrist by a young Asian girl whose work looked very nice online and instagram. I'm sorry I don't remember her name and can't find her on the website. 1) She was late and didn't seem concerned. 2) The tattoo is already fading 7 months later. 3) The tattoo is just "meh". 3) The price was obscene and I'm not kidding. 4)They offered to consider "fixing" it. I wasn't interested in making it worse. This is not my first tattoo and I really regret not going back to where I was happy. The reason I didn't is because I felt that her work suited what I was looking for this time, and, I read so many good reviews about Chronic Ink. It's assembly line, filling a need in a market that's growing really fast. Don't waste your time with "hit or miss" when you're doing something so permanent. Had my first tattoo experience here. From the moment I walked into the door I was made to feel relaxed and welcome. Patrick was my amazing artist who was very neat, clean and organized. He explained the process thoroughly and went over expectations and then placement. It was a simple b&w line art but he made the "brush strokes" look so authentic and detailed! Recently I got my first tattoos here. I was 15 minutes early for my appointment (6pm) but my artist (Amber) was behind so I waited almost an hour and half for my turn. The guy before me was waiting at the same time with me as well. He went in and got it his tat done an hour later...I was sitting close to the counter and one of the receptionist gave him the Tattoo Goo for free cause he waited for so long. Came to my turn the artist did a good job and when it came to paying that same receptionist offered the Tattoo Goo but I ended up paying for it :s So I felt unfair that he did that. I got my cartilage re-done properly by Vincent at Chronic Ink and although it was over healed skin (where I got mine done before and was infected), it was quick and painless. A few months later and before it was completely healed up, I got piece replaced because I lost the backing of the old one and it fell out. They were really nice about it. You can tell their service and professionalism is really top-notch. They give you really good advice on how to take care of it and the wound spray for the piercing is also really effective! On the same day, I got my first little tattoo done on my ankle by Christine. I was freaking out a little bit at first but they made me feel comfortable and eased me into the process. Got an industrial piercing (my first piercing other than the basic lobes) and was extremely nervous. I only paid 25$ for the piercing (including the 20$ deposit) and 50$ for the actual jewelry. Even though I was late to my first appointment which meant that they were unable to perform it, they did not make me repay the deposit and just moved me to the next available spot. Great customer service. My piercer Ian did an absolute wonderful job being reassuring and listening to my somewhat picky requests about the angle and the procedure (I was very nervous lol). The piercer was very caring, understanding, patient, not to mention knowledgeable and answered all my after-care questions. I am completely in love with how my piercing turned out, it is exactly what I had in mind. It basically didn't hurt, either-- no sting, just a pinch on the outer cartilage and a hard pinch on the inner. No bleeding, just a red ear. Went to Chronic Ink last year in May to get my shoulder plate done by Danny and he definitely did a great job! It was my first tattoo so I was a bit nervous but Danny would check in from time to time to make sure I was okay with the pain and even asked if I needed a a break or not. A year and a bit later, I have returned and met Joanna who did a lovely script tattoo for me in my inner bicep. Throughout the whole duration, she was fun and very courteous and I was able to talk to her just about anything and we got to know a little bit more of one another instead of "I'm just your tattoo artist." I got my first tattoo yesterday and I am so thankful I chose Chronic Ink. I am a huge fan of Joanna's work and loved all of the tattoos she posts on her Instagram page so I reached out last week to see if I could get a consultation with her. CI immediately emailed me back and asked for the specifics of what I wanted done and then set me up with a consultation appointment with her the following week. When I went in to meet her she was incredibly friendly and personable. As soon as you walk into the studio you can tell it's extremely clean and sterile. I had an idea of a larger piece of script at first and went through some ideas with Joanna about font and placement but ended up choosing a smaller script and I'm so happy Joanna was super honest and supportive of my decision. She ended up creating a stunning script with ideas both from me and her and I couldn't be happier. She made sure the placement was perfect on my spine - she even readjusted it 2 times because it was slightly off and she wanted it to be perfectly centre. The tattooing process honestly took no longer than 10-15 mins. She was so gentle I could barely feel her on my spine which I assumed was going to feel super painful (it felt more like a massage). At the end of it I left extremely happy and educated about aftercare since it was my first tattoo. I can't wait to see Joanna for every one of my next tattoos! I wasn't going to post this review but after speaking to friends and family and speaking with other tattoo artists I decided it was only right to warn ppl and speak about my experience. I have been very frustrated and upset with my total experience not only with the artist but also with the customer service that was provided to me and I feel like the only way I can get that out is by voicing my experience. After many years I decided to get a tattoo and I had heard chronic Ink was one of the best tattoo places to go to. I then scheduled a consult with an artist by the name of CJ after following her work for a while to have a pc done on my upper arm. The consult went great and I had my apt for my tattoo all scheduled. The day of my apt I received a phone call asking me if it was possible to come in later in the afternoon which I was not able to do as my mother had taken the morning off work to watch my daughter while I was to get my tattoo done. All in all my tattoo got done and my apt went well. CJ was great and the tattoo was fast and painless. After my tattoo was completed CJ and I spoke and she agreed that it was best I come back in a month so she could take a look at the tattoo and how it healed due to part of the tattoo covering existing scar tissue. Kind of like a checkup. Which I thought was great and that she cared. She also provided me with her cell phone number so that if I had any issues I could contact her directly. Now here is where the issues started to occur. I first received a phone call from the square one location. Square one was where I had my tattoo done. They called to advise me that they have to reschedule my follow up. So I rescheduled to another day a few weeks later which I had no problem with. A few weeks later closer to my apt I then received a call from square one stating that CJ no longer works at the square one location and that they have to reschedule my apt to either Markham or eglington location as that is where she works out of now. So I rescheduled to Markham a few weeks later once again. Keep in mind that everytime they made a change to my apt I received multiple confirmation emails which I have kept. They moved locations on my apt twice without notifying me by phone. I then received a final call from Markham stating that they have to reschedule my apt once again as now CJ no longer works in the Markham location. At that point I was pretty upset and made sure I let them know that my apt had been cancelled and rescheduled for the 4th time and that I had made arrangements for my children to be watched while I came in for my apt. At that time the receptionist reached out to CJ as did I and we agreed we would meet at Markham because of all the cancellations and rescheduling that she would do this for me. Now to be clear no where in any of my convo with the artist or the front desk did I argue that I needed a touch up. I think it was fair to be upset at the fact that I had been given the run around and rescheduled multiple times. The last time I was rescheduled they did not even make me aware that it was moved to Eglington. I was booked in as a checkup with a 30 min time window in case I needed a touch up and I couldn't believe after having a conversation with the artist that she said some of the things she did. I never argued for a touch up and I vividly remember telling the artist what do you think your the professional is it ok or do you think I need a touch up. And she said her exact words let's do a little touch up. Well I went from having a tattoo that was nearly perfect to I hate it. Prior to the touch up the result of the tattoo everyone couldn't even tell I had a scar under my tattoo. After the touch up literally CJ darkened it so much that now your eye goes directly to the scar which defeated the purpose of me even wanting to get the tattoo. I never asked for the tattoo to be dark or darkened. To be honest I should have taken it as a red flag to not even go in for this apt after the amount of times I had to reschedule it. I have so much regret and it bothers me everyday. I paid 800 to 850 for this tattoo to only be unhappy with it and now I will have to put together some money to have the tattoo removed. What is even more frustrating is the artist herself told me there was nothing wrong with my tattoo prior to the touch up which leads me to question why do a touch up???? I clearly asked her what she thought. I'm not the artist. She is and that's what she does professionally so I'm going to trust what she says. This will be the last time I will ever go to chronic ink and I would never refer them to anyone. The customer service was ridiculous and then how I was spoken to after the fact was shocking. And in the end I'm stuck with something I'm not even happy with. read more

Does anyone know how disappointing it is to wait two full years for a specific artist for a specific piece, only to show up and to be told they booked someone in your spot and now YOU have to reschedule after you already have 3 times for their mistakes. So disappointed and let down by chronic ink. Wont be returning no matter how good the artist. read more

I got my nose pierced here and I was sooo nervous. I had watched over 100 videos and read so many people's experiences, I couldn't sleep the night before (I'm really dramatic) and when I got there it started to set it: I WAS ABOUT TO GET MY NOSE PIERCED. It was one of the best experiences ever. My piercers name was Vince, and he made the process feel literally painless. My friends that have nose piercings told me on a scale of 1-10, the pain can be from around a 4-6, however I really feel like it was a 1. Your nose feels sore as hell after but the process itself is nothing. He did it so fast and my eyes barely even watered. The staff were so professional and nice. The shop was packed and I felt a nice creative, artistic vibe when I walked in. I just knew that if I ever get anything else done in the future, this is definitely the place that I'm going to go to! I also got this piercing on my birthday which was the best part, i felt so happy! To anyone who's looking to getting their nose pierced: go here! It's the best place to go. This review is based on my overall experience. Tattoo experience: I recently finished a back piece with BKS and the artwork is phenomenal. The tattoo experience itself would be worth 5/5 stars. He is a visionary, and I am honoured to wear his work. He has a gentle hand and despite the scale of my back piece, the first three sessions did not scar one bit. He's also really easy to talk to! I really recommend going to BKS for dragons, kois, and phoenixes. I constantly get compliments, and I really believe you get what you pay for with BKS. While this is my largest piece, it was the least painful. I had four sessions with BKS to finish my back, three of which were me filling out cancellations - props to Raymond at the front desk who was very diligent and friendly over the phone to offer cancellations and confirm appointments. Sometimes I wouldn't be in a talking mood when he called due to poor timing, but he was still kind over the phone, which I greatly appreciated. Front desk experience: Besides the amazing artwork that the shop puts out, the thing that keeps me coming back to Chronic Ink (I've been following their work since 2012 and have gotten tattooed at the Pacific Mall, Yonge, this, and I have an upcoming appointment at their soon-to-be relocated Toronto location) is their customer service. I feel like the front desk is a hit or miss depending on who you get. From experience, I remember Mikey and Raymond as the ones who I'd want to talk to at this location for consults, deposits, cashouts (though talking to Tara is fun in itself - I say this because I haven't interacted with her for any consults, or through the phone, but she was always sitting by to provide opinions in a non-snobby manner). At the Yonge location, there is Becky, CJ and Whitney, who are all so patient and kind (I have posted a review for Whitney elsewhere because dealing with her was one of the greatest customer service experiences I have EVER received). The reason this review is not a 5/5 is because of the times when I'd get people who don't seem like they'd want to help or are in a rush to get your money. I am getting something that is going to be on my body forever - I would appreciate it if they acted like they cared. I understand this is a popular tattoo shop, but how the front desk treats me is what snagged me as a customer in the past, and it will be what keeps me coming back in the future. In my opinion, having great artwork is only half of customer acquisition. The other half is customer service. Whenever I get the people who are "miss", which happens more often than I'd like, I reconsider taking my business elsewhere. If not for previous experiences with kinder front desk, and the incredible tattoos that this shop puts out, this review would be a 1/5 or 2/5 based on those "misses". Please beware of this place - they are experts in treating customers like crap - non professional and ridiculous - artist asks me that I need to change my tattoo for an artist - seriously now the artist will tell me what I should get on my body - I am paying for the tattoo and not hearing crap from the staff there - Sincere advise never to make apointments with them . Awful experience here from the start and its not over yet! Visited the Markham location in February with some pictures of what I wanted for a half sleeve. The person at the front desk sent me to an artist (Lydia) that doesn't speak English so we used a translation app on her phone to communicate. I thought all was good and booked my 2 day session for May 3 & 4 and left a $170 deposit. I was told that I would get an email presentation of my tattoo design a week before my appointment. Almost 2 months later I get a call from reception telling me that Lydia will be out of the country for the entire month of May and so I reschedule for July 30 & 31. I didn't get my email presentation until 1:30 am on July 26 and wasn't happy as Lydia didn't include the images I asked for or provide the proper coloring and the design was boring and basic at best. I had to deal with a third party from Chronic Ink over the phone (Raymond) who was translating back and forth between me and Lydia. On Saturday afternoon Raymond calls me to tell me that Lydia doesn't want to redesign the tattoo and they basically leave me stranded. He offers to refund my deposit which I'm thinking is the best solution since my experience with this place has been extremely unsatisfactory. I have not received my deposit back nor has Raymond or anyone even bothered to respond to me. I will not back down until I get my money back so I can find a decent tattoo studio where the artist will actually listen to what I want and where the artists and staff have some sense of integrity and professionalism. read more
