Still, despite that, I can't really say that it is one of the greatest pubs that I've visited. Sure, the service was okay, but the beers were fairly standard, not that I actually know what standard beers happens to be in an English Pub since every pub that I've visited seems to have different options. Then again, I'd probably describe the selection as boring, so yeah, there is that.

The gravy is perfect with a nice consistency that melts over the roast and chicken. The broccoli was tender and well seasoned. The cod fish cakes is an amazing combination of fish and potatoes in golden breading. Honestly I can rave about the food all day. The customer service was top tier. I was apart of a large party and the restaurant staff were accommodating and had all dishes out in a timely manner. It's a quaint local pub with outdoor seating available. True hidden gem for tourists to find and truly a treasure that locals hold dear.

However, it was a charming place, and had a pretty decent sized beer garden as well, which seems to be the case for many of these suburban and rural pubs. Oh, and they had some decent beers as well, which was also pretty cool.

I have never been treated so rudely in my life. The place was nearly empty when I went for dinner. Despite that a young male server looked around the empty room, looked at me and then sat me in a hidden corner at a tiny table that was clearly not meant to be for customers. After about half an hour I eventually got up and asked a bartender if I could put an order in. She was confused because she had no idea I was there. She confronted the jerk that put me at that table for not telling her that he sat a customer, and for purposely putting me at a bad table for no reason. He started laughing and gloating that he could get away with what ever he wanted and that he didn't care about her feelings or his job at all before he walked away. She felt bad but still didn't do anything to improve the situation. I wonder if he is related to the owner because he clearly didn't want to work, or even be a good person. After all of this happened the service was still practically non existent and I still payed the full tab even though I was treated horribly. I will never go back here. Ambience: The pictures online look great but the reality looks run down and on the verge of a mold outbreak.

Absolutely delicious!…read more The food here is excellent, and the menu has a lot of options to choose from. We came early in the morning, and there were only a couple of other diners eating when we walked in. We were promptly seated and our drink order was taken. There was only one server, and he didn't come back with my coffee, or take our food order for ages. I admit, I was very frustrated with the long wait, and mumbled under my breath about how long it took to make a coffee. Unbeknownst to me, the server was right behind me and heard my remark... needless to say, service was prompt and efficient after that! I ordered the Plant Plate and was absolutely blown away at the huge portions, also how delicious everything was. I'm American, and my spouse is British, so I always thought it was strange to watch him eat baked beans for breakfast over the years... but surprisingly, it's pretty good and I'd definitely have it again. My spouse had the Pancake Stack with fresh fruit and really enjoyed his as well. The dining room is bright, airy, comfortable, and clean. The toilets are clean as well. Overall, the food was excellent, reasonably priced, and a great value for the huge portions and fresh, delicious food you get to enjoy. Highly Recommended!
