Fried pickles and jalapeno based dip
Pranjali S.

Surprisingly good! But huge portion sizes. This location looked and was busy but we got seated right away. The menu is typical American country fare with a mix of some Mexican and Puebloan flavors. We first ordered the fried pickles as a starter. We were told that they are vertical strips rather than circular and honestly imagined that they would be small vertical strips. As you can see from the picture, they were gigantic. We got the jalapeno based dip and it was delicious!! I think the dip was 70% of the reason we liked our pickles. For the entrees, my friend and I both got the potato bowls. She got the regular chicken one and I got the Irish pie. Big portions for sure but both were delicious. The mashed potatoes on the top were well done and really added to the dish. My pie had a lot of pulled pork which was very tasty and you had to dig in a bit to get to the veggies. We finished about 30% of our portions and took everything else to go. I was actually surprised that I would like this place since it is a chain but I did!

a parking lot with parked cars

This is the first time my wife and I visited this restaurant. The location was convenient, parking was adequate, the outside of the restaurant and landscaping looked nice, the inside was decorated nicely as well, we were greeted when we entered the restaurant, seated quickly in a comfortable, quiet booth toward the back of the dining room near a window, the dining room was clean and neat, our server (Rebecca) was excellent, friendly, and patient with us as we decided what to order, the colorful, glossy menus had enough appetizer, entre, & beverage choices, the rolls ere delicious, our meals were very tasty (ribs, mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, meatloaf & roast beef), the restrooms were clean, neat, and didn't smell bad, there was no music playing in the dining room, and the food was quite expensive.

Country fried steak and chicken tender combination
Kevin M.

I was not impressed with this place. The food was mediocre but the service was great! I really wanted to try the meat loaf and country fried steak but there was no combination plate for it. I asked if they could make a substitution but that was not allowed. I mean I was even willing to pay an up charge if it came down to it. But it never happened. So I settled for the chicken tenders and and country fried steak. To make matters worse, it took a really long time for this to come out. The amount of time I waited and the way the food tasted was just not worth it. There was nothing special about it. I felt like the food tasted like any other chicken tenders and country fried steak. Overall I'm kind of disappointed and I am unlikely to come here again.

All in, we were at about an hour total. I started with a blackberry pina margarita - with blackberry Chambord, pineapple, lime, and agave. I had the shrimp tacos, with cabbage, pineapple relish, cilantro on corn tortillas, with tortilla chips and salsa on the side. It was phenomenal, with a lot of great flavors, particularly the pineapple. Overall the food was really good, as was the margarita. There's plenty of seating at the bar, and downstairs, as well as outside.

Pros: Walking in the hostess was helping another couple but did acknowledge us. She went to sit the couple and another staff apologized and said that she will be right with us. We were sat outside and immediately were given water. Our waiter, who I can't remember his name, talked to us and took our drink order. My husband ordered a beer and me an iced tea. He gave us a few minutes before coming back to take our order. We started with the green chili fries and when they came out they were very good. I do wish there was a little bit of spice to it, but not a con. I even ordered a cup of green chili with my shrimp tacos. And my husband ordered the slopper. I loved the shrimp tacos, that I got the lettuce instead of a tortilla. I would highly order and recommend. Husband loved the slipper. He said if you don't see the fries or bun, assume your eating it all. Our waiter is very knowledgeable and was quick with his recommendations. He answered a burger question when asked and took his time with us. We did not feel rushed. My husband also ordered a beer flight and found some he enjoyed. All the staff worked together and matched our personality. Well, my husband's personality. We ended up ordering 3 cups if green chili with their chips. The salsa had a nice kick, mild kick, because they added green chilis to it. It tasted home made. When we had a minor issue with the bill, our waiter took charge and without hesitation took to fix it. We of course had to order dessert. Our waiter came back within minutes to inform some of the desserts were sold out but offered a replacement. I got the peach pie and my husband got the chocolate cake. The peach pie was a perfect mini size Cons: My husband was surprised the manager wasn't walking around ensuring everything ran smoothly. I honestly don't see it as a con. Also, the parking lot is small and when it gets busy I can see walking from another block over. There are 3 spots for the hotel and 4 spots that are a 2 hour limit. Recommended? Absolutely yes. Great food and excellent staff. Everyone here is friendly and seems excited to help the customers. We will definitely be back. And maybe stay at the hotel and walk over to enjoy a hamburger or more shrimp tacos with a cup of green chili

I absolutely loved the scotch eggs! I skipped the Reuben bombs since I'm not a big Swiss cheese fan, but everyone else at the table really enjoyed them. I ordered the Jameson meatloaf with mashed potatoes and veggies, and it was amazing -- full of flavor and cooked perfectly. My husband and son both got the fish and chips and couldn't stop talking about how good they were. My daughter loved the kids hamburger, especially the potato chips/fries that came with it. The atmosphere was awesome, the service was top notch, and my husband and I both enjoyed a refreshing beer with lunch. We had such a hard time deciding what to order because so many things on the menu looked great, so we'll definitely be back to try more items. Highly recommend!

I'm just a tough on ratings. I had a couple beers, wife iced tea. For my wife the main menu didn't have anything she wanted... they let her get a grilled cheese off the kids menu. They had a Reuben on the menu, but I wasn't in the mood for the sauerkraut and the 1000 island dressing. They had no problem making it basically a corn beef and Swiss sandwich. All the food was good. The service is great. The people are friendly definitely recommended. Next time we're in trouble we'll probably go there again, and you should too.

This is what a neighborhood bar/ restaurant is all about…read more This location came recommended by a family member who lives in town. Because of this reason we had to stop by. This spot is right in a neighborhood and looks like it's been here forever. This place has history. They are all about community. Supporting the locals which you can see on the walls and reaching out all the way north. We happened to stopped on a Saturday morning when CU was starting to play, this place picked up and all the staff was wearing their CU gear - supporting all the way in Pueblo, Co. now let me tell you about the food- sorry no pics we were hungry. We started with chips and salsa. Homemade chips super delicious. It's a full bar great prices but since we are far from home- no drinks. I got bowl of menudo w/2 tortillas. Pretty standard. My son his is super picky got French toast. However the meal that my man happened to get was called the "Slopper" with2 extra eggs. It had potatoes, green chili,2 sausage patties, bacon, cheese and 2 eggs. He got tortillas on the side. Sounds like a lot but he shared with me. Food was real good. The icing on the cake was how nice and welcoming the whole staff was to not just us but everyone who walked in the door. We were even introduced to the owner. Once we were done eating my man said he could see being a regular at this place if we lived there. I felt so at home and just like a regular.
