Great customer service. Quick response, great communication and a great experience overall! I definitely recommend Travis.

Really fast, helpful, honest and good quality work. The price was reasonable compared to others. Great service!

Very responsive, transparent, and finished work on time with great quality, including city inspections etc.

Travis at Black Dog Electric was fantastic to work with. He responded quickly, communicated clearly, and was able to fit us into his schedule on short notice. He was transparent about costs from the beginning, showed up exactly when he said he would, and completed the work efficiently and professionally. It's refreshing to find an electrician who is honest, reliable, and doesn't try to upsell unnecessary work. We were very happy with the experience and will absolutely call Travis at Black Dog Electric again for any future electrical needs. read more

Travis and Black Dog Electric really saved the day for us recently when a tree fell in our backyard, knocking out our power line and damaging our power meter in the process. Unfortunately, due to how old our meter was, we needed a full panel and meter upgrade to restore power. Luckily, BDE was able to come give us an estimate the same day (on a Sunday, with no service charge!) and start work the next day. They were almost half the price of a competing quote, but did the job with all the quality we could ever ask for. It took three days of sorting through 70 years worth of wires and getting SCL to come back to fix a damaged line they had overlooked the first time, but now we're up to code and ready for future home electrification projects like an EV charger and induction stove. They will be our first call if we ever need more electrical work done in the house! read more

TLDR - wastes your time repeatedly Two years ago they installed a level 2 EV charger and things were fine until it stopped working last month. Contacted him to come check it out and repair as needed. He stood us up THREE TIMES. No communication any time prior to cancel. After each of the first 2 fails, he cited family emergency and stomach bug. Which would be fair enough for cancelling the first one. But no communication prior to canceling? Even if you're sick you can write a text or email to notify the client. And then to repeat the non-communication no show another two times? Inexcusable. Prior to the 3rd attempt, I even said "if you can't do Wednesday, please let just say so." So we have been without level 2 charging for almost 2 weeks now and my wife drives her EV as part of her job. We both wasted time scheduling time off work to be home to meet him for no shows. Makes me feel like an idiot for giving him THREE CHANCES. read more

Black Dog Electric was on time and excellent. Installed two GFI outlets by tapping into existing circuit. Highly recommend BDE.

Travis reached out to me very quickly when I had a time sensitive electrical issue at my home. For the record, electricians are B.U.S.Y. So I knew I would have a challenge getting someone to come help fix my electrical problem. However, Travis reached out to me quickly and was able to offer his time and expertise to resolve my problem. This type of response is amazing, and this is who Travis is - a dedicated professional who cares about people. Please take it from me - Travis and Black Dog Electric are the kind of people who will help you resolve your electrical problems. He's going to be my go-to for future electrical jobs! read more

We had some rewriting and removal of old nob and tube that needed attention in our West Seattle craftsman home. Travis was responsive, helpful, and did quality work on time, with honesty. He broke down cost and priced things fairly, and if there would be anything additional along the way that was missed (there was only one thing), he gave us thorough information and choice. Travis and his assistant were also lovely people to have around our home. They were kind and considerate of our pets, and by the end they felt like friends. We would certainly hire these guys again for any electric need. They are worth it, and are honest, stand up humans! read more

Travis came out with very short notice and helped us understand possible reasons for random power outages in our home. Great feedback and education about our issue and while it ended up being the county who had to come out to deal with an issue on their end, Travis called it early on. He was also super responsive and checked in on us throughout the next couple days (in a weekend to boot). Keeping his number for any future issues - highly recommended! read more

We sought estimates to rewire our entire house built in the 1920's. It had knob and tube and no ground, and we needed an upgrade for a new ductless. We narrowed our choices to two, and we chose Black Dog because Travis offered to do the work for about 33% less than his larger competitor. Plus, even though we really liked them both, we knew with Black Dog, the person we met was the person who would be on site to do the work. We are delighted with the outcome, even a month or more after the work is complete. We passed inspection without any issues. Throughout the entire project, Travis listened to our ideas and made an effort to satisfy us. When we wanted something that would not pass code, or we saw new opportunities, or we encountered surprise challenges (again, this is an old house), he offered ideas and worked with us to make the most of our project. It took about 2 weeks from start to finish, maybe 3. We would definitely use Travis / Black Dog again and recommend him to any of our friends, neighbors, family, and workmates. I gave his number to my manager without hesitation. We really like Black Dog electric - we are really glad we used their service, we were nervous because this was a really big job, and Travis came through, thanks Travis. read more

Very competent, timely and easy to work with. He installed a pendant light for us on short notice. I'm having him come back for a few more complicated projects. Highly recommend. read more

Travis and his team did a good job on installing a new panel at my house. However, once the labor was complete and the payment given, Travis never filed the paperwork to get the work permitted. As a result, I have a brand new panel that the city cannot inspect because Travis refuses to file the appropriate paperwork. He has also stopped responding to several courtesy emails, texts and calls from myself and Seattle City Light trying to get the permit paperwork from him, so I am going to have to hire another electrician to file the paperwork. While I did not want to leave this bad review, this appears to be the only way to get Travis's attention to finish the job. I would approach this company with caution, and wait until everything is complete before rendering the full payment. read more

Quick to respond and continued to be really responsive. I had a very small job of replacing an outlet to a GFCI outlet and he was able to come by and do it no problem. I really appreciate it and will definitely contact Travis again for any future electrical needs! read more

We've been mulling over installing an outlet in our bathroom for a bidet for a few years now. We've reached out to a few folks but they either didn't respond or weren't comfortable doing an outlet install in a bathroom. We reached out to BlackDog on a whim and within 2 days we had our outlet installed! The folks are super responsive, extremely capable and had the work done in half an hour. I'm blown away. I would wholeheartedly recommend Travis with Black Dog Electric for any electrical work you might need done. Travis is responsive, arrives at the time he says he'll arrive, and charges the price he says he will charge. He is knowledgeable, works quickly, does the job right, and stands by his work. Travis installed two EV chargers for me in our garage. After hearing my specific requirements, he explained the options for how we could do what I wanted. He continued to answer all my questions throughout the process. The work was completed promptly. Afterwards, Travis made several extra trips out to troubleshoot and resolve some quirks that my particular project presented. I am 100% satisfied with Black Dog Electric. read more

Quick, fair, quality work, friendly. Upgrades wiring to handle fast and safe EV charging.

Asked for a quote on getting an EVSE (car charger installed) in a location that isn't easy to get wire to. Travis looked at the pictures and gave a very competitive price. He worked with me on time, showed up as needed with everything needed, and was very friendly. I had planned to do this myself but after seeing the conduit work Travis did I'm glad I went with Black Dog. They even swept out my garage after they were done. Would hire his group for work any time and will suggest him to friends and family. read more

Travis was so patient helping me figure out the best solution for a home EV charging, even though I was a noob to electrics. While some requires an onsite visit , this was done remotely, by sharing pictures of the breakers etc. Definitely recommended! read more

Travis was great. I had (what turned out to be) a relatively minor problem with an in-ceiling light fixture that was suddenly making popping noises and sounded like it was going to burn the house down. Travis was a great communicator, fast, and respectful (eg made sure to sweep up all debris, etc). If I need another electrician in the future he's my first call. read more

In and out in under 30 minutes for a fix in my circuit panel. No unnecessary pressure upsells and friendly service. Can't ask for much more.

Travis installed my car charger. He was Inexpensive did quality work and was quick to reply to all my questions.

After reaching out to multiple companies on yelp for quotes to install a 240v Nema 14-50 outlet for an EV charger I decided to go with Travis and Black Dog Electric. Travis was quick to reply and very responsive to questions I had. Since I had a non-standard install (50' from the panel in the basement and the panel was maxed out) Travis came out for a free quote. With a fair quote I was able to hire Travis to do the work and it was completed within the week. I'm sure i will have more electrical needs in the future and Black Dog Electric will be the first I contact. read more

Travis has helped out with a few electrical related fixes at our old Seattle home. He was a great communicator throughout the various projects and has always been very easy to schedule with. Travis installed a 240v circuit for an EV charger for me, work was completed over two days, and could have been done in 1 if not for the charger being out of stock. Travis kept me informed at every point during the project, and honored the original estimate despite running into some unexpected challenges during the installation. Travis beat out all other bidders for the project, and the end result was clean and professional, exceeding my expectations. I would hire Travis again for future electrical work. read more

Highly recommend Travis. Our drier had an electrical wire overheating which melted the plastic that holds the plug and the matching electrical outlet in the wall. I sent an inquiry through Yelp on Sunday and several companies responded. Travis was able to come the same day. I sent pictures he needed and he gave me a quote over the phone. He brought the replacement parts with him and arrived in the time that we set up. I like knowing what is going on and he kept me informed throughout the repair process and he tested the drier in the end to make sure that it works. He has an electronic payment option, which also makes things simple. We are very happy with his work and we will have him again to install a GFI circuit as well. read more

Travis was one of the electricians who did a whole re-wire in our house in Phinney Ridge. We were very happy with the work that was done, so when we heard he was starting his own company, we were excited to have him come and do more work for us installing a couple more outlets both inside and outside. We definitely plan on having him come back for our next projects and have even referred him to our parents. He is super friendly, respectful and communicative. His prices are competitive, especially for such a quality job. Highly recommended! read more
