Dean totally saved our day! My family and I had JUST moved into our new house and we were dealing with a water heater that wasn't working correctly. A week prior to our move, my family had hired a water heater replacement company to swap out the old tank with a brand new one. On the night of our move in I discovered that we weren't getting hot water, so I contacted the water heater installing company to ask if they could do something. The installing plumber came out and they determined it was an electrical problem but it was well out of their scope of ability. I called Dean this morning to discuss this hot water heater issue and by early afternoon he had come out to assess the problem. He was very methodical in trying to pinpoint the origin of the electrical problem, and I appreciated him being a good communicator in relaying his thought process and the rationale for his decisions. Dean determined that the previous owner of the house had done some lousy DIY electrical work which was why the water heater was only getting partial power (only 110v instead of the necessary 220v). Dean was able to fix their wiring mistake by swapping out the bad double breaker with a new quad-breaker, and then this re-wiring was able to get hot water going in the house again. This is totally amazing as the rats nest of wires in our electrical panel just made the problem seem extra daunting. I'd have no hesitation in hiring Dean again. I cannot say more good of Dean. Yesterday my water heater stopped heating any water, then it became my highest priority task to get hot water for my wife and my kid. The water heater was made by Bradford White 11 years ago, it's 65 Gal, tall and wide. I quoted maybe 6 plumbers about this. They all told me I need to replace the water heater, quoted me from $1,500 to $1,800. Worse thing is the water heater is blocked by a black sewer pipe, I need to remove the pipe then move out the old heater and install the new one. After noticing this, the quote went up dramatically. Then I decided to find someone to repair it. Luckily I found Dean's page by chance this noon, I made a phone call to him. Dean asked few questions and gave me a reasonable quote. He also told me, if he didn't got the water heater work, he won't charge me a single cent. He arrived in the same afternoon, soon found the problem is not about the water heater at all, it's about the power wire connection to the heater was badly done, the wire was burnt thus the heater was down. Please check out the picture of the wire, I feel so lucky it didn't cause a fire. Dean cuts it off and redone the wire connection, power on, then the heater starts to work! Amazing! And he told me a lot of knowledge about water heater, electricity. He's not only a good plumber but also a very proficient electrician. Lucky me! Dean's nice, punctual, he does high quality job! Hiring him is the best decision I made in the recent weeks. My only regret is I tried to negotiate on the quote number when I was talking with him the first time on the phone. My water heater was leaking and I needed it replaced quickly. Gave Dean a call in the morning and he answered just like he advertises. He was out to my house within a couple hours to give a quote. Could have done the quote by sending pictures as well, but he offered to drive over to give a more accurate quote. I agreed on the price and he got the replacement water heater installed that day. I will say it ended up being more expensive than I was expecting, but also put in a nicer Rheem model than what is available at Home Depot. Dean also does not cut any corners with using cheaper materials for all the hook ups and connections. I think he told me he's been doing this for ~45 years and it showed with his knowledge.
