A venue so beautiful our guests are still talking about it! We're locals in the Boulder area and quickly learned that Estes Park is a highly sought-after wedding destination. We didn't fully grasp just how sought-after until we began our venue search. When we toured Black Canyon Inn in July 2024, we were stunned to find that our date in November 2025 was the only one left for the entire year! It's clear that this venue is difficult to book for a very good reason. Black Canyon Inn delivers truly excellent service and provides a dedicated day-of coordinator, which was a huge relief. They do not allow outside catering, and as self-proclaimed food lovers, we were initially hesitant about this policy. However, we took a leap of faith after hearing from so many vendors that their wedding food is some of the best around--and they were absolutely right. The food was phenomenal and completely exceeded our expectations. They also have a fantastic list of recommended vendors, which helped us tremendously with our wedding planning. It gave us confidence that we were making great choices every step of the way. As we were planning, we noticed a recurring theme in the wedding community: many couples want to feel "unique" and "special," wanting a wedding that doesn't feel like anyone else's. While we understand that sentiment, our philosophy was different. We chose Black Canyon Inn precisely because they do so many weddings. We wanted a "well-oiled machine" that has the experience and expertise to handle anything that might come up. We are only having a wedding once, and we wanted a team that knows exactly what they are doing through experience. For any couples searching for a venue, our advice is this: don't let your "wow factor" come from choosing an inexperienced venue. Let it come from the special moments with your family and friends. Suite 3 is not functional and unsafe. The shower was essentially unusable due to low water pressure. The door lock was difficult to open from both the inside and outside and poses a life threatening hazard in the event of an emergency that requires a quick exit. Do not stay here. read more

My husband and I just had our wedding at the Black Canyon Inn "The Boulders". Thinking back, not a lot went wrong. The few things that were frustrating was the bad attitude of the people on the phones. I had to call and ask the people working their to be more accommodating to my guests. That shouldn't have to happen. The day of the wedding they were removing grease or something. It smelt like they were pumping the sewage and we couldn't even have the doors to our rooms open it smelt so bad. After speaking with the staff, it was quickly resolved and the smell was soon gone. (Thank gosh). POSITIVES We had the best day of our life 11*22*22 the Black Canyon Inn. The Staff was amazing. Corinne & Edith were very helpful with coordinating. The venue was incredible, views were unreal. The reception was perfect. When we asked staff to do something, there were no questions, they just did it. I was told by EVERYONE how good the food was. Do the buffet if you have a wedding here. There's probably enough for a second plate most the time for your guest and they can taste both proteins. I loved this. Get DJ Ron Michael's to do your wedding too. Their recommendations for vendors were spot on. Get cupcake gypsies! I didn't have many cupcakes left! read more

Stayed in this cozy condo rental during November 2020 while we were visiting the Rocky Mountain National park. Recommend it! We loved the location: about 15 minutes from the Rockies. Pricing was very fair as it was $175 for such a spacious all inclusive condo. The condo had a functional tv, fully-loaded kitchen, bath-tub with a jet and even a fireplace in the living room. Check in into the condo was contactless. We went to the main office and there they had a mailbox where they had a check in packet with our name on it: included keys, info about the condos and local attractions! read more

I'm only reviewing on the wedding ceremony location and reception. We did not stay in one of the rooms. The views are magnificent, and don't even look real. It looks like a backdrop was placed behind the building, that's how perfect the mountains are! The staff was mostly friendly and helpful. There were a couple times that I felt the wedding coordinators were missing a couple details on the rehearsal. That's honestly the only part that is giving my review 4 stars, instead of 5. The reception was wonderful. The servers were friendly, attentive, and attention was paid to even the children that were part of the wedding party. They had their own personal meals that were more "kid friendly" and brought them apple cider to toast when the adults had champagne. Way to pay attention to those details! read more

Can't say enough about how awesome a venue this was for our daughter's wedding! We used the Homestead site, which has a beautiful pavilion for the ceremony and a truly wonderful lodge building for the dinner/reception. The guests all raved about the beauty of the setting, the quality of the food, send the attentiveness of the staff. Several commented that it was the best wedding dinner they'd ever had. Many of the guests stayed onsite and really liked the accommodations. Behind the scenes, the coordinator, Edith, worked tirelessly to make every detail successful. The level of her knowledge was really impressive and her positive attitude coupled with her can-do demeanor helped to boost everyone's confidence that things would run smoothly. We stayed at Black Canyon Inn for a wedding the weekend of 4/23/21-4/25/21. My wedding party of three couples rented out connecting units H1 & H2 so that we each would have our own bed. It was the worst two nights of sleep we've ever had in a resort. We're paying over $300/night per room and couldn't even get decent sleep. I walked out to the living room at 2:30 AM and found my best friend already trying to sleep on the couch. We contacted the property to see what they could do about a partial refund for our units as the wedding and families renting brought in over $60,000 for the weekend. One of my best friends wife was 6 months pregnant and it didn't matter. The property manager Amy called us to let us know they couldn't do anything for us since it's vacation rentals and they are just property managers. It didn't matter that our wedding group had spent over $60,000 at their property. She refused to work something out. The rooms are poorly furnished and the beds are extremely stiff and poor quality. She claimed they never have had complaints before. Well let this be the first. If you're going to charge $300+ a night at least make sure the beds are in decent shape. Oh and it would be nice for the toilets to not be broken and need maintenance to come fix it upon arrival. read more

Black Canyon Inn was the venue for my bests wedding and I have to say it was GORGEOUS! ++ The venue its self is located in Estes Park tucked back near the Stanley Hotel along the Black Canyon Creek. ++ The ceremony spot (a covered gazebo) had AMAZING views of the surrounding mountains! Peep my pictures to see what I mean! ++ There's accommodations onsite for the wedding party and guests. Not to mention those accommodations are just the cutest! ++ For smaller groups, the onsite restaurant, Two Owl Steak House, makes a wonderfully cozy and intimate space for a reception after the ceremony. ++ All the staff members were incredibly friendly throughout my visit! We had our wedding at the Homestead, and it was the most magical experience. Our coordinator, Edith, did an amazing job guiding us during our ceremony walk through, making sure we had everything together day of, and just generally dealing with all the details that make having a wedding complicated. We really appreciated that she didn't push vendors on us or try to get us to do anything we didn't want to do. I highly recommend Edith for anyone planning their wedding at the Black Canyon Inn. The venue was incredible. Everything was so beautiful and being able to host our families at the lodge was perfect. The food was next level. We celebrated our wedding both ceremony and reception at the Black Canyon Inn this past April. I have to say from the start of planning to our wedding day, everything was great! Terisa, our wedding coordinator, was easy to work with and very attentive to all of our details as well as responded in a timely fashion. She was there every step of the way to coordinate our wedding and ensure it ran as smoothly as possible. The Pavilion is absolutely amazing as there are no words to describe such a beautiful location to be married. The Homestead topped it off with the rustic, log cabin feel we had wanted nestled in the mountains. ALL of our guests raved about the food selection, the elk and jalapeno mac & cheese were a huge hit! The staff went above and beyond at our reception including the bartenders to ensure all wedding guests enjoyed themselves. I have never seen a team cater so kindly to everyone. Our immediate family stayed on premise in the condos which is very convenient. It was so nice to be able to walk to see each other and have everything available all in one site- ceremony, reception, and lodging. Each condo was unique and beautiful, fully equipped with kitchens and fireplaces, all of the high end amenities. I also loved that as the bride and groom, a stay in a condo for two nights was included in the wedding package. if you are someone like me that wants a mountain wedding, a coordinator who is outstanding, a condo stay included, great food, and a place for out-of-state guests to enjoy the wedding but also get to visit Estes Park, then I highly recommend The Black Canyon Inn! read more

Black Canyon Inn is Amazing! My husband and I just got married in June (2019) at BCI. We did the "All Inclusive" Wedding package. It was perfect! *Keep in mind this package option has to be on a Sunday and has a guest limit (I believe 30 or so)* We did our ceremony in the mid morning. Package included: Officiant (He was great!) Wedding Cake (2 Tier) Bridal Bouquet Groom Boutonniere 3 hour wedding venue of your choice (3 options to choose, including pavilion) 3 night stay for wedding couple Bottle of champagne Wedding coordinator AMAZING VIEWS for ceremony ALL OF THAT FOR AN AMAZING LOW PRICE! (I won't quote price because I'm sure prices change) The wedding team was outstanding and so easy to work with from start to finish. We are from Dallas and planning a wedding so far away can be stressful, however BCI made it super easy. They were very quick to respond to emails and questions. They had all rooms ready for guests and bride/groom the day of with a smooth check in. All deposits were returned in a timely fashion. One of our guests did have a minor issue in their room and the front desk was very quick to respond and even gave money back without hesitation. As for the condos: The condos are individually owned and are so cute! Some need a bit of updating but the older decor is nice and rustic so either way you'll be happy. Plus they post photos of the rooms online which is nice to see what you're getting without surprises. The room we got was located right next to our ceremony site which made it very easy when it came time to walk to the ceremony. The scenery is breathtaking! You will not be disappointed. Do not be surprised to see Elk and other furry creatures roaming the property. Its truly just so beautiful. The only thing I noticed was VERY spotty cell reception, but obviously you're in the mountains and most likely on vacation, so I just enjoyed being unplugged for the week! read more

Well I attended a wedding and the wedding was beautiful. The customer service was awful. The food was lukewarm at best. There was one bartender that was nice. The rest of the service was lacking common sense. I was not impressed and I'm pretty use to the inadequate service in Estes Park but this was plain awful for what I can only imagine the wedding cost. So brides think twice before you sign the contract. read more

Our wedding was in June, 2023 and it couldn't have been more perfect. The bridal and grooms suites are beautiful, the views are breathtaking and the staff was amazing. The planning up to it was flawless, Corinne and Teresa both were quick to answer any questions or concerns. The day of was perfect, we stayed in the suites most of the day and our immediate family and most of our bridal party stayed on the property right across and below from the venue which made our 5 day stay even more perfect having everyone close! The only issue we had was once they shut the doors it did get very hot. We had 150 guests, it could have been that we had one of the warmer weekends without rain so it could have been the quick switch in weather....either way it didn't change a thing. I wish I could relive our wedding at BCI every year!!! Which we still intend to come up and stay on our anniversary every year we can! read more

Which was appreciated very much because we were trying to plan our wedding from out of state. Any time I had a question, I just had to call and ask. We had our wedding at The Boulders in Black Canyon Inn. Had a a wonderful time and the staff at the Boulders couldn't have been better. we had staff the next day who work at our wedding telling us that that was the best wedding we worked ever. They commented how nice our guest were and us and had a great time. we brought over 100 people from Chicago to Estes Park and about 20 couples stayed at the Black Canyon Inn. We spent a lot of money. That being said the Boulders was incredible and I would recommend anyone who is planning a wedding to look at the Boulder. i would not recommend staying at the Black Canyon Inn. we packed up Saturday to leave with all that was going on we forgot some of my wife's clothes when we got back to Chicago we notice the missing clothes.My wife called the office at Black Canyon asking if anyone turned in any clothes out of our condo and they said they will check. Two days later the office called and yes we found some clothes left behind. They mailed a box to us and we notice there was a lot of clothes missing. My wife called the office back saying that some clothes are missing mostly high end clothes such as Lulu Lemon and brand new sports bras. My wife said she does want anything , not looking for money but just thought they would like to know that one of their employees is a thief. Manager said we have great employees and they would never take anything that doesn't belong to them and we must of just missed placed our clothes. She explained that is pretty impossible to miss place close we packed that morning in our car and drove back to Chicago. if not in our car where else could they be?. He was very rude to my wife and she immediately called me crying. I called and he was rude to me also. I also said we're not asking for anything just wanting let them know about a problem employee. I told him about how we had over 100 people at the Boulders and people staying at the Black Canyon and because how rude he was I will never recommend anyone to stay at the Black Canyon. He told me that he does not want me or my wife to ever stay their or anyone else that we knew staying thei.. I could not believe what I heard. all he had to say is sorry and we will look into this matter. We had a great week in Estes Lark and a beautiful wedding. All of our guest 3 weeks later are talking what a great wedding and stay in Estes Park. It is crazy how one person can tarnish all of that. I stayed at Black Canyon Inn for my wedding that took place on April 13, 2013. After doing a lot of research about having a wedding in Colorado, I chose Black Canyon Inn because of how gorgeous, affordable and accommodating it is for small intimate weddings (We had 85 guests). Because my wedding was in April, I got the low season rates. I can't say enough about the beautiful cabin we stayed in (F7) and the amazing staff from BCI who helped make my wedding day perfect. They have a gorgeous pavilion on site where weddings are held. The view is breathtaking and I can't imagine a better place to exchange vows. Rosemary, who coordinated my wedding here is wonderful and an absolute doll! Planning a wedding from another state seemed intimidating, but Rosemary helped me rest easy throughout the whole process. She responds so quickly to email correspondence. There are SO many things she did to accommodate me and my wedding guests, and she does everything with a smile. The rehearsal and the ceremony went smoothly with her guidance. The restaurant on site, Twin Owls Steakhouse, was perfect for hosting our reception. Everyone could walk right over from the ceremony. Our room was completely updated and gorgeous. Everything was clean and nice. The rooms come stocked with cooking and dinnerware as well as other odds and ends that might make your vacation more comfortable- board games, books, hot chocolate, etc. I loved taking advantage of the huge jet tub! And it was a real bonus to have a washer and dryer in the room! I definitely recommend Black Canyon Inn! My husband and I got married here in July, and let me just sing its praises real quick. 1) First off, you simply cannot beat the view. I wanted a Rocky Mountain wedding, and I got just what I wanted. Our guests (who were mostly out-of-towners) were completely "wowed" by the picturesque backdrop, which was beautifully framed by the pavilion. 2) It's COVERED! It's actually the only covered outdoor ceremony site in Estes Park. I'm a bit of a contingency planner, so of course I had been thinking "what if it rains?" from day one. And whaddayaknow, it rained on our wedding day. But here's the thing: it didn't even matter! It actually made it really cool having thunder over the mountains as we said our vows, while our guests stayed completely dry!! 3) The backdrop is so lovely, you need minimal additional decor. I wanted as few vendors as possible to mitigate stress, and the natural beauty of Black Canyon Inn meant I barely had to add anything to the ceremony. It was simply lovely. 4) Katelynn was SO SWEET during all the planning, and Black Canyon as a whole was lovely to work with. 5) A 3-day condo rental is included with the ceremony, which was really convenient. We actually had our day-of coordinator stay there the night before the wedding so she could easily set up onsite the next day, and we simply requested that Black Canyon have their cleaning service come clean during our wedding so it was like-new for us that night (which it was). It was such a dreamy wedding, and all the guests who flew in (it was a destination for pretty much everyone) were enchanted by the beautiful setting. We had our wedding at Black Canyon Inn on September 30th. Everything about the wedding from the coordinator, to the scenery, to the pavilion was absolutely stunning. We could not have asked for a better wedding. We rented out a total of 3 condos to host our families for our event. The condos were located close in proximity to one another and the resort is close to everything in Estes Park and to the Rocky Mountains. The only complaint we had with our stay at the condo was cleanliness. Unfortunately we found hairs in our cleaned and made bed. We went to run the Jacuzzi in our condo and there were dust bunnies coming out of the jets. We also wondered why after the first night we were both extremely congested - we had the fan running the night before and noticed a significant amount of dust on the fan the morning after. Our families mentioned similar small cleanliness issues in each of their condos. I understand there are numerous condos and each are large and include kitchens, so this review is nit picking. These are small complaints compared to the all in all great experience we had. Just a few recommendations for the resort to improve on next time. We will be back! read more

Beautiful location! My best friend recently got married here, and I have nothing but good things to say about the location, views, and amazing on sight restaurant. However, the condos fell extremely short. First off, we were paying a lot to stay here, and when I am paying high end prices, I expect a high end experience. The furnishings left something to be desired, but they were rustic and homey. We felt that the "fully furnished" kitchen was lacking- a wine opener that could not open a bottle of wine (I've used a steak knife before- so I'm no rookie), and only 4 plastic wine glasses for a condo that sleeps 8.... Just lacking. What really bummed us out however, was the dirty sheets that were left on the fold out bed. They were covered in food and assorted particles of god knows what. It was extremely upsetting. I would expect this of a dingy motel, and not a resort that comes with high end prices. read more

The location is great. It's just a couple minutes from downtown. The units no matter the size are all very nice and I think the price was definitely affordable. Elk roam freely throughout the front end of the property and the views are certainly picturesque. I won't go into great detail about this place because other reviewers have already done that for me. What I will say is why I had to take away two stars. The reasons are simple: 1. One they have some weird smoking policy (I don't even smoke btw) that you can only smoke in your car or in one tiny designated smoking area. It was annoying having to watch my friends treck so far just to have a smoke in the evening. 2. No laundry or cleaning service. 3. One front desk employee was super nice but another staffer was extremely curt when I was asking for some help and it was really off-putting. (One rude employee can ruin an experience.) 4. The onsite restaurant has a weird policy of no ordering "doubles" for mixed drinks. And finally, Wi-Fi or lack thereof. Well it was free and I guess you get what you pay for because it was pretty much non-existant. Not just in my room but anywhere I tried to grab a signal. In 2014 sub-par or non-existant Wi-Fi is just as annoying as a telephone not working or a broken toilet. You guys really need to fix that. I cannot imagine a more beautiful place to stay. The staff here made our marriage even more special. From moving carts out of the way for more beautiful pictures to even having a stump placed for my beautiful bride to place her bouquet on. There is no doubt in my mind that we chose the right place to stay in Estes Park. Black Canyon Inn is set in a rocky hillside just on the outside of the town. The views are incredible, wildlife roams the area, the accommodations, staff, property, just everything was top-notch. My wife and I stayed in H1 and had it booked months in advance. We discovered a friend was passing through the area with her daughter and after a brief phone call, we were able to get H2 (the upstairs and attached unit) with no hassle at all for 2 nights. The stay was simply perfect. The final night there was an issue with a new visitor that moved into the top unit on the night before we left, and that is the only problem I had with the place. The night manager is not on location, so response time to potential problems is not prompt. I called them about the stomping and banging upstairs which went on for hours, even after I called the manager. He said he had attempted to call them but they didn't answer the phone, that was the extent of assistance I was able to receive. In the end, when it had been happening for about 3 hours, I walked up to the unit myself and asked them to please quiet down, and for the most part, they did. Other than that specific incident, we had a wonderful time here! To avoid any issues like that, just get a top-floor unit (but the bathroom in H1 was incredible! haha). It was 5 minutes to downtown Estes, awesome scenic drives in any direction you chose to do, just breathtaking and gorgeous. We will be staying here again! Thank you Black Canyon Inn!!! Great, convenient location. The rooms were rustic, but were fine for us. The bathrooms were huge, which was nice, and we had a kitchen in our unit, which, although strangely stocked with odds and ends of dishes, glassware, etc, was still great to have. I do wish the amenities were a bit updated, the television was seriously old school, the pillows on the bed were old and mismatched, and the coffeemaker had seen better days (and a lot of them), however, the gas fireplace in our room was wonderful and came in very handy when we had an unexpected 6" of snow one day (early October, this is a little unusual, even for Colorado!) With the fireplace, college football, and pizza delivery we managed to survive ;). All in all, a great place to stay in Estes Park. I definitely would consider it a good value. read more

We looked at the Black Canyon Inn for a wedding spot and although it looks like a promising place, we were off put by interactions with the staff. Calls weren't returned, and then when we finally got someone who could authoritatively answer questions, they were rude and condescending. And these were for very basic questions. Our thoughts were that if they conducted business like this from the get-go, how would they be with planning an elaborate wedding and dealing with our guests and family. We ended up going somewhere else (and dealing with people who couldn't be more pleasant and professional). They have a great location and setup - however, it never ceases to amaze me how poorly run businesses and unprofessional employees can ruin what should be an otherwise great boutique inn. read more

We had a nice enough stay at Black Canyon Inn - location was great and you can't beat the view. We were there as part of a wedding party so there were several other friends staying on property as well -- I feel like we got a little shafted, only because we seemed to be in the oldest unit on site but paid the same amount as everyone else. Make sure before you book, since these units are all individually owned, that you really take a look at the photos of the specific unit you are renting so you aren't unpleasantly surprised. Great view and great wedding venue for the price comparatively. Would've given 5 stars if the wedding organizers had been more helpful the day of they didn't really do anything to help. Otherwise though it really is the best venue in Estes for the price and we will be back on one of our anniversaries i bet. Make sure you plan well yourself though ba=ecause the promised organizers wont do much and if you do ask them for something they may try to slide in a fee, (even though they are supposedly included in the price.) read more

Such a beautiful location, and wonderful experience! Stayed here a few times over the years, and the staff has been so great and accommodating to our needs. It has all your high-end modern accommodations to a rustic cabin that you can stay in. There is a dinner restaurant on-site, and it is so close to town you can walk/ride/drive anywhere in Estes. I would defiantly recommend staying here, and can't wait to be up there again! read more

If you are in need of a wheelchair accessible condo, you couln't ask for more! Being wheelchair bound for 40+ years, this was constructed by people in the know. Bathroom, bedrooms, bed location, all were just right. If need of a roll-in shower, not there, but bench seating is. I asked for bushes to be trimmed back as to not scratch my van and it was done pronto. If ever in the Estes Park area again, this will be my go to place! read more

This is where I stay when I come to Estes. North side of town you are out of the way with an incredible view of the lumpy ridge in RMNP. Very helpful friendly staff. Units are privately owned so decor will vary from unit to unit. We insist on staying in F1 as it has a completely unobstructed view of the mountains. We will be back. read more

We stayed in D4/5 at the end of December for my son's destination wedding here.Everyone was so nice and helpful, the condo was better than expected. And even though the wind gusts played havoc with the chairs at the pavilion for the wedding, we had a wonderful time here. During the rehearsal, we met a couple who got married there the year before and were back for their anniversary. I'm sure my son and his new wife will go back again, too. read more
