Odd Pop is the equivalent of the ice cream truck except they drive straight to your business or event (weddings, gender reveals, birthday parties, and anniversaries). Today, my hubby and I had the pleasure of having three popsicles (lemon Thai basil, strawberry mango and Elderflower Lime) and they were all delicious and so soothing to eat. We really enjoyed that they were fruit based and not eye squinting sweet. Today we had 95 degree weather that feels 150 degrees. The driver texted me he was on his way and then I was sent a tracking link. They have deliveries down tight. The delivery driver was friendly and told me about my wine when he handed it over. It is not super big but it makes great use of the space it has tons of pre loved books, stickers, various gifts, oracle and Tarot cards, witches candles and so much more. SHANA SAYS: Super cute atmosphere, fun organizing of the books like pre loved, and lots of cute gift items. Plus a cat with its own hours! Kathy was super friendly and helpful. Made the whole experience better and is a genuine person. They do have a game room and a snack bar with free water as well as a keuring and snacks for sale. The bathroom is for everyone and they are very welcoming. Of course as an independent bookstore they have a wide variety of titles with some new books thrown in. They do mystery sells and bundles where you get a vague description of a book that is covered up and you take a chance. It should go without saying but as you are supporting local businesses the prices are a little higher the HPB or Amazon but it means more here and you should buy local when you can. I highly recommend this place. They even have a section where if you spend $50 you get to choose a free gift from books to sunglasses to other items. Go in, say hi to Kathy and The Cat!

I LOVE Mr. Pickles!! In fact, when I go to Pasta & Co. for fresh pasta (hey, I'm half Italian so…read morethat means I am there several times a month...no joke), I always go to Mr. Pickles. It's part of my Kerbey Lane jaunt (of course this also includes stopping into Kerbey Lane for a quick bite). I literally feel like a kid in a candy store. It is one of the most welcoming shops in Austin. The main reason I like to shop with them is their love of dogs, specifically dogs in need. As someone who prefers to adopt rescues, this means a lot to me. They have donated nearly $10,000 to dog charities in Texas! That is freaking amazing. Sir Benjamin LOVES visiting because he always gets treats (whether I buy him dog treats there or not, they will often give him one). When I do purchase for him (let's face it honestly, I always do), he loves the PUPTarts...yep named and packaged like SweetTarts. He also loves the lickable bacon peanut butter. But, of course he does. Their selection is AMAZEBALLS! They carry a huge variety of candies from vintage stuff like HI-CHEWs and Chuckles (remember those?). The dill pickle taffy is crazy good. They have great offerings of chocolate, sour candies, gummies, and all the things you expect to find in an old-fashioned, fun, and eclectic candy store. Everyone there is so nice, like always!
