Since I'm being accused of defamation, here is more proof…read more In my opinion, This tree was planted too deep and there was too much mulch and bark completely covering the trunk and base of the tree that we had to remove, unfortunately, this suffocated the tree according to 2 local nurseries. It didn't help that you incorrectly set our sprinkler system. My dad asked for the front yard and back yard to be set the same amount of time in morning and late afternoon, you set it so that the back yard got the highest amount of water in the morning AND afternoon and the front yard got the lower amount of water in the morning and afternoon. No wonder the tree is almost dead. Now to address your accusation of racism: How about you ask your guys that were here when the front yard was being done how often I would speak Spanish with them every time I pulled up to my house? I asked them how to say a couple things and they taught me. I enjoyed having you guys around, including you (when you were there). My post was nothing personal. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school and I always make it a point to practice when I can so I don't forget words. I can also speak a tiny bit of Vietnamese (learned about 20 years ago), tiny bit of Chinese (Mandarin- still learning), a little French and a little German. I've lived in Southern California my entire life. You only met 3 white people at my house and my whole family is an extremely mixed bunch of 3 different races. It's awfully judgmental of you to label someone as racist simply because of their skin color. Telling someone they did something wrong isn't racist, just fyi. I understand your go to "racist" comment with the way the world is right now, but it was displaced towards the wrong people. In my opinion, and the opinion of other landscaping companies that came in to complete the job and saw your work, your company's work was poor. Bottom line. Nothing personal. Just business. You could have fixed the problems (because there are more than I posted) instead of ghosting us and ignoring the issues, but you didn't. It's normal for some people to lash out and personally attack someone when they have no rebuttal for non-personal criticism. However, it's poor business practice when a customer shares their opinion based on their experience (with pictures) and instead of merely apologizing, you dig a deeper hole. Best of luck!

Fast forward almost two years later, we were ready to put the concrete in our yard. When I contacted Ruff & Ready, they had our photos, previous quote, and hand written notes still in their portal. I surely wasn't expecting this. Jeff came out to measure the new spot and confirm the scope of work. He was efficient, flexible with his timing, and arrived in the window given. Jeff's quote was not the most expensive nor was it the cheapest. What made us choose Ruff & Ready you ask? Jeff spoke as if what he said would actually happen. And that's how it went! He was transparent, honest, and didn't fluff anything. He got us a quote for the updated work within 24 hours. His office assistant Vanessa answered all our questions and walked us through the timeline of the whole thing, from start to finish, from signing our contract to paying the deposit to when we would begin work to how to pay the remaining balance. Vanessa answered text messages promptly and also answered the phone. No elevator music on the other line, no 'all of our representatives are busy' garbage. The crew who came out was incredible. They were respectful. They didn't blast music or leave trash. They were thorough and adhered to the timeline given. They closed the gate and ensured it was locked each day, which matters to me as a mom with littles. They parked in the street and moved when I needed to get into my garage. We used Ruff & Ready as a test as our current gardener will be relocating soon. We could not be happier with our experience and plan to use them for future backyard projects.
