Yummy desserts

I loved the atmosphere, Black Bear Theme, Staff, and yummy blackened salmon on a bed of steamed spinach baby tomatoes with mashed potatoes and gravy!

Pot Roast 'n Mac
Steven H.

Great food on this trip. We had a hankering for classic diner comfort food and Black Bear delivered. I went with pot roast with white cheddar mac and my wife went for chicken fried steak and eggs. We were impressed. The restaurant was quiet as our visit was in between holidays. Our server was pleasant, fast and accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed this outing to the Black Bear Diner.

The hash browns

I had high hopes for my first Black Bear Diner experience. We were greeted right away and taken to our booth. The server was nice and she was efficient but the breakfast I had was mediocre. The potatoes were my biggest disappointment. If you look at the photo you can see why. They were limp and pretty flavorless. The omelette I ordered okay. The sourdough bread for the toast was pretty good...thick. The coffee was hot and fresh. Portion sizes were adequate. Overall, though, the experience was 'meh'.

Tomato Bisque

This is the cutest , feels like home cafe. The tri tip was awsome The pot roast was just like home The cornbread muffin ( delicious) The tomato Bisque ( tasty) The salad ( cold crispy and fresh ) Service AWSOME!! Thank you to our waitress ( Friday, October 4,2024 after 8;00 pm. The place stays open later so a real meal can be had.

Bear Claw with mold.

If I could leave zero stars I would have. I ordered my food through doordash. I ordered patty melt with fries and a bear claw. My fries were small pieces of fries, not actual fries. But the worst was that my bear claw had mold on it. The cherry on top was that Doordash would only refund me $3 which the moldy bear claw cost me $9.39. I am very disappointed with the resolution I received. Never order Black bear from doordash!!

Do you guys have outdoor dining or seating?

We sure do!

The directions to this place appear to be wrong. I mapped it and it took me to a empty field and said I arrived. Lol. Did this place close? Where is it?

Hi Jamie - no, we have not closed. We are located at: 1041 AZ-260 - across the street from Home Depot!

Absolute BEST biscuits and gravy I've ever had. The service was great, and our server was very sweet and attentive. The restaurant felt like we were at home or visiting a relative. Disclaimer: few 5 stars...always room for improvement…read more.. So I've lived in VV coming on 4 years and have read numerous reviews on all the restaurants at in the area. I knew this to be a breakfast place, of which there are many, but someone mentioned on another board about where to get Greek food and Georgie's came up again. Greek/Med is few and far between and a really good place just closed in PV. That said, I went in today. Specifically for the Greek menu. Gotta say. It was really good and will satisfy your gyro need. I ordered the spanakopita and a beef gyro. I expected phyllo triangles but was met with a mountainous portion baked amazingly. My first thought was please don't be cold...it wasn't. It was nicely warmed and so full of feta and spinach it was ridiculous. While the phyllo topping came off, it was rich and buttery and flaky and messy. This was enough for 2-4 people. Presentation was blah but taste is what mattered. The beef gyro came in a nice hearty pita that stayed together. The meat portion was generous. There was a bit more lettuce than I'd prefer but it was fresh. I'd opt for additional red onion next time and the cucumber sauce was creamy and just really good. No overpowering flavors. I wish they had tabouli and hummus and I'd eat there daily, lol! Service was lovely, clearly so many regulars. Servers are wonderful and friendly. Decor needs updating but you're not going for ambiance, you're going for good, down home food. I will be back!

Here at COLT Grill I had The Filly, a salad the menu described as "romaine, walnuts, pears, cranberries, bleu cheese crumbles, cranberry vinaigrette". I opted for the "small" ($8.50) over the" large" ($13) and it was a beautiful salad both in presentation and taste. But the salad portion of the menu also said one could "add chicken or smoked turkey" ($4) or "add beef brisket" ($5) and I did. Did you just tell me I could get a perfect, tasty, ample salad with a separate, robust and delicious side of BBQ beef brisket for $13.50? I wasn't just ready to fly to Arizona; I was ready to move to Cottonwood. This meal was delicious. A "small platter of smoked brisket" ($14.50) was enjoyed equally by another at my table but, with my bowlful of brisket, I paid little attention to that other meal. My attention instead was aimed at a nearby table's indulgence in the smoked Mac-n-cheese ($4.75) and Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Bread ($4). Jealous I was, for I had no room for anything more. What a winner. COLT Grill might be half the reason I return to this area in the future.

The Halloween decor is perfect. From, ghosts to spiders to bats it's a cool look. I ate breakfast here two days in a row. I was pleased with both days. Both my waitress were great. They were both friendly, helpful and polite. I loved the option of sitting in the main dining room, indoor patio or outdoor patio. I tried the main dining room and indoor patio. The indoor patio was my favorite. It was cooler and more open. The main dining room is tiny and felt a bit too small. The food was good and came out hot and fresh. My first day I went with a classic breakfast. I had bacon, eggs, toast and cheesy hash browns. The cheesy hash browns were spicy and peppery. I loved every bite. The bacon was not your traditional bacon. It's a red chili glazed bacon. It wasn't spicy, but had a unique flavor. The eggs were nice and fluffy and I added cheese. The only downside I didn't like the preserves/jelly. My second day I had a BLTA. Bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado on a croissant. It was good and loaded with avocado. I of course had the cheesy hash browns as my side. I just loved the peppery taste. Everyone won't like these, but I loved them hash browns. You can get plain hash browns as an option. I also tried a Bloody Mary. They make their own spicy mix. The Bloody Mary comes with celery, olives, bacon and an egg. It was a good Bloody Mary. It had a nice vibrant flavor and kick to it. This restaurant just has a feel good energy. It's quaint and cozy, but comfy and clean. So good food, good service and a wonderful atmosphere puts me in a good MOOD! Both days I left happy, full and SATISFIED! When I come back to visit I will definitely eat here again. I enjoyed the dining experience.
