Black Bear Bread is a great bakery in the Grayton Beach area. They have excellent pastries, salads, and sandwiches. For breakfast, we had the almond croissant and got a few items for the road. We later ordered a to-go lunch of ham and cheese on baguette and a salad with goat cheese. The food was top notch and the bakery has exceptional covid-19 safety practices. All employees wear masks and customers entering the bakery are also required to wear face coverings. To go orders can be placed online and picked up in the taproom adjacent to the bakery space. There are a few outdoor tables for patio dining, but you can also take your food to nearby Grayton Beach State Park and enjoy it by the beach and/or lakeside. read more

My twin and I were excited to try this place because it was cute, but quickly realized that it was only cute on the outside. We rode over at 6:30 A.M and decided to go try it because it opened at 7. The line was already around 20 people out the door, so we expected the food to be at least tolerable, but we were wrong. After waiting in line, we both ordered a bacon egg cheese biscuit and a croissant. The croissant came out first, and it was decent but not the best. Then, the bacon egg cheese biscuit came out. It did not even look edible. I was beyond baffled. The biscuit was very hard and dry, and the eggs were almost inedible. The bacon also was very overcooked. It was also extremely expensive. $50 for what we got, and I could not even finish a quarter of it. The server was a very rude man as well, but if I worked here I'd be mad too. We didn't have a meal here so I can't comment on that. But we looked up the menu for pastries ahead (on their own website) and decided to give it a try. I purchased two pastries and iced vanilla latte. The iced latte was delicious and I did return the next day for another one. The majorly disappointing thing was their $8 pastries that did not match the online menu pricing for this location. They did not display the prices for pastries anywhere. I asked the girl working the register the prices on a couple of pastries and her response was "all of our pastries are between $4 - $6" ....except I got charged double the online menu prices the day before or what their employee thought they charge. There is absolutely no reason a bakery should charge $8 for a small pastry. Some of the priciest cities in the country and famous bakeries don't charge that much. But if you do want to spend $8 on a small pastry I recommend the fruit danish (I would have returned for it every day was I not getting ripped of). Pass on the bear claw. Way to dense. They should change the name as it does not taste anything like a bear claw. read more

This bakery cafe is super cute! Petite and all the guests were very courteous queuing up outside to provide social distancing. We bought a couple baked goods and ordered some sandwiches and bagels. My husband had the tuna sandwich that he loved. This is a good spot for morning coffee, working for a bit (but don't camp out there because it has probably 6 tables and you want to be respectful :)), or lunch with a friend. We stopped by on our way out of Florida and got there two minutes before closing (online it said they were open later, I'm not sure if I was looking at wrong or if it's incorrect online). Even though they had switch the sign to closed and were putting things up, they still let me order a coffee and what was left of a few pastries. Over-rated. Coffee was mediocre. 15% gratuity immediately added to every bill and the tip option pops up while paying. Interesting to be forced to tip prior to receiving goods and service AND if you don't notice the little sign about automatic gratuity, your 10% tip becomes 25%. Nice scam. Indoor seating is limited and not bused so be prepared to wipe your own table and rub elbows with the table next to you. Don't think I'll be back. read more
