The natural juices and smoothies at Brooklyn Crepe & Juice Bar are excellent. There isn't a drink ingredient that this place doesn't offer and they don't give you the side eye if your request IS a bit strange (coconut, beets, pineapple and ginger with a shot of whey protein???) I like that the juice/smoothie machine operators sometimes offer you an extra cup of the excess, free of charge if they happen to make too much. The crepes are hot, fresh and delicious and the choices of fillings are numerous. You can have your crepe prepared as a dessert or as a delicious meal. I'm basing the reviews here on the crepes and general service. I was completely looking forward to a sweet treat after having dinner nearby, and Brooklyn Crepe seemed like the perfect idea. My friends and I excitedly headed over, only to be met with unjustified, exorbitant prices and sub-par crepes. Here, you can build your own crepe from the list of ingredient with varying prices each, or you can go with the pre-suggested menu items (that come out to the same price). I ended up ordering a nutella, banana, strawberry, coconut cream one, which sounded like a killer combination. Question: Is it just me, or when you read the phrase "Coconut Cream" you imagine a fluffy, white, whipped-cream like addition? Well, it wasn't. The guy just pierced open a can of coconut oil and poured some on top. Er, okay. The guy who made my crepe was completely awful at it. You know how you normally pour the batter on the surface and use the wooden stick thing in a fluid, smooth, circular fashion to evenly spread it out as it cooks? Yeah, no, that didn't happen here. It was a mess, and the dude looked like he was combing through hair tangles or shaving armpits or something to spread the batter. It was so sloppy and took so long that the crepe was not evenly cooked (over cooked in some spots). In the end it was sloppily made and tasted just okay. I was pretty disappointed. We literally walked a block from the apartment in the sweltering heat and I was ready to lose it. I'm not sure if it was my smoothie mood or my need to be in air conditioning but we decided on smoothies for a quick cool off. The place is tiny, but I was pleasantly surprised by the array of different juices and smoothies. All of the crepes were even cleverly named after Brooklyn boroughs. We both got juices, I got the pineapple coconut mango one. Which was tasty but way too sweet for me. The low star rating is based on service NOT the quality of my purchase I have patronized Brooklyn Crepe for over 8 years now & have they have always have been consistent with great tasting smoothies, crepes & salads but unfortunately there is one employee that seems to have the worst attitude to the point I will not patronize the place on his shift. I thought he was just having a bad day on the first occasions but that was so not the case. Ash has the worst attitude & it needs to be addressed. After dozens of times walking by this place on my way somewhere and kicking myself for forgetting to try them, I've finally started checking them out, and I'm really glad. Admittedly I have very little crêpe experience, but I like what's going on here: the food's tasty, the ingredients are pretty high quality; the prices are reasonable; the guys who run the place are friendly. At this point I've had a spinach and goat cheese crêpe, a chicken, mozzarella, tomato, and sun-dried tomato crêpe, a chocolate banana crêpe, a smoothie, and the vegetarian chili. Everything's been very good. The veggie chili tasted just like my mom's, which is exactly what I want from chili. The savory crêpes on the menu are $5-7, the sweet crêpes are a little less. This place always seems packed but I'm not sure why. The smoothies must be good, I didn't try one, but they sounded nice. I went for the crepes and I have to agree with Burk U. that the Prospect Heights crepe is pretty bland. I also tried the Bensonhurst which had an overpowering flavor of prosciutto. Also the crepes themselves were too thick and over flowered. It's cute that the menu options are named after Brooklyn neighborhoods, but that's about all that's cute in there. The staff's attitudes were a little tense and seemed disinterested in preparing the food and drinks in a timely manner. I was also jarred by the advertising of organic ingredients outside and then the usage of styrofoam containers for takeout. read more

This review is for the smoothies only. The Short: A fair selection of excellent smoothies. I've tried a couple but am utterly hooked on the Number 2 (coconut, pineapple, and mango). Also the staff are some of the nicest people I've met in Brooklyn. The Long: I've been by Brooklyn Crepe and Juice bar several times now, all after throwing the frisbee around in Prospect Park. It's hard for any smoothie to not taste delicious when it's hot and you're dehydrated but the No. 2 is just so awesome. You can taste all three flavors distinctly and the texture of the smoothie itself is extremely creamy. The last time I went I took a friend along and he stood there trying to figure out what to order for the longest time. I figured the workers would get annoyed (like so many New York businesses) but the staff was awesome. Its official: Prospect Heights has officially been taken over an army of young hipsters, who are always followed by a greater army of yuppies, and all the while. landlords are extremely overjoyed. Gentrification is a booming business. Back to the Crepes and Juice thing. I say, "Only in Brooklyn." "Only in Brooklyn" can you set up two crepe makers and a juicer, then charge $8 a pop for the food and $5 for a smoothie, and still have people coming back. This time I'm back as a tourist, so I guess I'll splurge a little... Food was... good. It ain't 8-dollars good, but its good, and I like the all names for the offerings. The smoothie was also good... So delicious! We ordered the Red Hook and Coney Island crepes via Postmates. Unfortunately, the driver didn't pick up our order and it was refunded. Minutes later, the owner of the restaurant called us and said they would deliver our order anyways, for free! I tried the park slope crepe along with the vegan savory, they were both delicious thin and crunchy, but when I tried there apple cinnamon crepe it sealed the cake. It really reminded me of a Cinnabon with out the pecans and the whip cream was home made ! The place is a bit small but still cozy and warm. read more

5 Stars for the Juice - it's fantastic, and really well-priced. 5 Stars for fantastic people who work there. 3 Stars for this annoying problem: they say that they open at 8:00am. However, I have gone by *multiple* times at 8:10, 8:15 and no one is there! I keep walking the 6 blocks out of my way to work *hoping* someone will be there, and each time I am disappointed and annoyed. I made it there at 8:30 once and they had just opened, but were not able to make crepes because "it takes at least 30 minutes to heat up the grill" and they hadn't turned it on yet. If you don't want to open at 8, that's fine - there are other places that do. But if you say 8am, this means that customers should be able to order drinks/food by 8:01. Perhaps I am just cranky from the many times I have made the walk and they've not been open. And so, 4 star average. read more

Cute little place snugged in the middle of a block. Prompt, friendly service. Enough stools to sit approximately 5 people inside, and a small bench outside for sunny days. I didn't try the crepe but had enough time to chug down one of their approximately $5 medium sized juices. I had the Apple, Carrot and Ginger mix (you can also make your own concoctions). I'm a big ginger lover, and this drink was smooth with a hint of spicy. I'd be willing to try their other juices, and wouldn't mind tossing a crepe in while I'm at it. My friend and I came here for an afternoon snack and ordered the savory salmon crepe. The crepe was surprisingly filling and was served with a side of field greens. The Crepe was delicious, my only reserve was that I didn't have enough space in my belly to try the sweet crepe. After the meal, I ordered a fruit juice with orange, apple, peach and carrot, I didn't really enjoy the drink as much because the orange was too tart and I think there were bits of orange peel in the drink which made my mouth itchy uncomfortable. I adore this place! Prices are very reasonable, especially for fresh juices and smoothies. Nothing on the menu is over $10, and juices/smoothies are available in 3 generous sizes: 16, 24, and 32 oz. Plenty of options for all palates and diets; numerous vegetarian/vegan items. Produce and ingredients always look fresh and crisp; greens are stored in a fridge. If you're into wheat grass, their wheat grass is certified organic and a bit cheaper than other juice bars in the area. I wish they more organic options for juices and smoothies, but oh well. My personal favorites are the Kale/Carrot/Ginger ($4.75 for 16 oz) and the Super Green ($5.75 for 16 oz.) juices. Great place to stop for a quick bite on the way to running errands at Target. This place is just so convenient (for me) and yummy... I can't even. Okay, I can, and here it goes: Granted, it was very easy for me to wander into Brooklyn Crepe & Juice Bar, given that my boyfriend lived upstairs, but even if I hadn't had a 30 second commute, I would still make my way out here. The super green juice is LOADED with things that many may say taste bad alone (kale, parsley, ginger, celery, spinach) but someone gets blended into the most delicious, energizing drink. I had to give up coffee, but found that this was such an amazing substitution. The guys working there were super chill and nice, and the staff don't waste anything. However, be warned: there's no sitting space (well, a tiny bit against the window, but that's it). During the summer this place is probably packed. They serve both sweet and savory crepes but they're also a juice bar. All the crepes have cute neighborhood names. While you do have the option of building your own crepe the savory kind can run you up to $10 bucks ($8 for sweet crepes) but their menu crepes are pretty creative. I decided to try their Prospect Heights, which is filled with grilled chicken, swiss cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and caramelized onions. I like watching the process. Pouring the whole wheat batter, flipping it over, piling on the ingredients, what a mouth watering tease. It was a good sized crepe and surprisingly it came with side salad. all for a little under $10 bucks. A little more than I'd want to pay but probably normal prize for the neighborhood. The crepe was tasty and service was quick. I loved the cheese with the onions and sun dried tomatoes. It probably would have been just as delicious without the chicken. I'd love to come back during warmer months and try a juice or smoothie. This place has made my list of favorite crepes. read more

They also have crepes with meat, cheese, and/or vegetables. You can also customize your own crepe. I liked that I could watch as my crepe was made, which tasted ok. It was more rich than sweet. The crepes are also great and light! I had the Cobble Hill (with brie, mushrooms, egg) and it was tasty, but I preferred the one with smoked salmon. It comes with a side salad, too. Agreed with other reviews: this crêpe place is great for a light meal. Mostly everyone comes here for the fresh juices, but the crêpes are good too. My friend and I split the Park Slope and Williamsburg ones, both of which are the vegetarian choices. Wow, great choice to have the beets included. Just added great color and taste. I did omit olives though. Service was actually my fave part of my visit here. The employee working welcomed me and my friend (we're tourists to NYC/Brooklyn) and shared great stories about the menu and his own personal travel history. He was just real kind. A customer and longtime neighborhood resident overheard our conversation and added her own stories and suggestions about Brooklyn. She was great and even remembered when Queens and Brooklyn were considered the same thing: the countryside to Manhattan. Space was neat too. Basically, the place is just counter service with one tiny table inside then two benches and small wicker tables on the sidewalk outside.
