My daughter and I went here to try something they call a Pizookie. This is a dessert they are known for and they have lots of different flavors to choose from. We originally went so that we could get the Dubai chocolate, but they were sold out because they had no pistachio cream left. We then opted for the Biscoff and it was delicious!!! This is what it is: A warm sugar cookie base topped with Biscoff cookie butter, crumbles, a cookie and ice cream. The base of the cookie had parts that were crunchy and parts that were soft (almost cake like) and I enjoyed the different textures. It was SO good and we find out that every Tuesday they have $5.00 Pizookie's so we had dessert for 2 for $5.00!!! You definitely can split it amongst 2 people and even 3 if you wanted. Food was delicious and they have a great selection! I tried something new this time, I got the BJ's bowl with shrimp. It was super fresh and tasty! I'd like to try the Tri-tip next. The portion was really generous and I felt I got a good value for the money. I placed an online order and what they gave me was incorrect (wrong items) however they were great at helping get the correct order when I called after getting home. I find this is pretty common at restaurants when ordering take out so just a good reminder to myself to check all the items before leaving the store so I don't have to circle back again. During a hour lunch break, a coworker and I decided to dine here as it's only 0.3 miles from the office. I'm from Arizona, so I chose something familiar and usually a quick meal. I'm not sure why this place has low ratings but when we went, we had a great time! The food was also pretty good! We came on a random weekday during lunch and while there was little wait to be seated, we had an amazing server! She was so sweet, bubbly, and took such good care of us!! All of her recommendations were also on point too! If you go during happy hour, certain apps are half off! Which was good cause the prices were a little pricey. We had the following: Fried calamari - 9/10 - my husband and I absolutely loved this appetizer. We always try out the fried calamari at other restaurants but we were shocked how good it was here. We don't like the type of batter where it's chunky so when it came out with tempura like batter, we were thrilled! The calamari was tender, fried to a beautiful golden color, and the crunch was insane! What we appreciate the most about the batter that it was light and not overly greasy. We didn't feel yuck after eating it. It came with two dipping sauces, an aioli and marinara sauce. Not sure what was in that aioli but I could drink it! It was smooth, creamy, and I think it has garlic in it? The calamari came with a lemon and I appreciate that because citrus always brightens up the seafood's flavor. Seared ahi tuna salad - 8/10 - this salad was huge!!! It was the size of my head! There were spring mix, tomatoes, crispy wonton skins, shredded cabbage, pickled cucumbers, cilantro, avocado, and slices of seared, sesame coated tuna. Everything was incredibly fresh but I wish there were more and bigger slices of tuna. I was disappointed in the amount of tuna that was on the salad as I wanted a better ratio of it compared to the greens and toppings. The rice wine vinaigrette was tangy, light, and paired well with the tuna. The tuna was fresh as I couldn't detect any fishy aftertaste but I don't taste how it's seared. Overall, a pretty good salad that I would eat again. Jambalaya - 8/10 - my husband loved his entrée and he said while it's not as good as the ones in New Orleans, the flavors and spices were hitting all the spots. I tried a piece of sausage and it had that distinct smoky taste. The portion size was pretty big too! It had chicken, sausage, shrimp, green bell peppers, onions, rice, in a thick, Cajun spiced stew. He enjoyed his entrée and finished it! Our waitress recommended the cookies and cream pazooki (warm cookie on a skillet with ice cream and cookies and cream whipped topping) The pazooki was phenomenal! I would rate it a 10++++++/10 - the dark chocolate chunk cookie in the skillet was warm and gooey and the vanilla ice cream combined with the cool cookies and cream whipped topping was WOW!! Surprisingly it wasn't sweet and it was like eating a heavenly dessert. You get the warm, comforting, nostalgic feel of a fresh baked cookie and the coolness of the ice cream and it was was outstanding! I could eat like 5 more of these! My husband and I finished dessert in no time! We were so happy! Overall, BJ's is a good place for lunch or dinner. The prices are on the pricier side but if you come during happy hour, I think it's M-F between 3-6pm, things are cheaper and you get a bang for your buck! I like BJ's. I go often & am always delighted! This time I went with a group of friends & new dietary guidelines so it was a small adventure. Instead of my usual yummy baby back ribs, I enjoyed the BJ's brewhouse bowl with shrimp & shared an excellent loaded baked potato. The pizoola dessert was great but way too much to eat after a spectacular dinner! Of course, I recommend BJ's. They never disappoint--even when you can no longer eat your very favorites on their menu! Let me preface this by saying it was not the waitress's fault that the food wasn't good. She was fantastic, and the tip reflected her good service. Kitchen was way off. Ordered broccoli vs fries with my burger. Could not eat the broccoli. Steamed mush. Also, friend has the French dip. Bread was hard, and the meat was dried out. Fries are fries. We were sat right away. They had 3 different sports playing on the TVs. It was not too loud and it was easy to keep a conversation without yelling. Marissa was our server and she did amazing! We noted that she seemed to be doing the work of 3 people. Marissa was positive at every turn. This place is what you expect from any chain. I think what this place excels at is service. They were very attentive. The restaurant looks clean as well as the restroom. To me, I find it hard to find restaurants who keep their bathrooms at a clean standard, so it's quite refreshing.  We had a huge group of people come on a Monday night for dinner, and we ordered a large amount of food and they places the food - appetizers, main, and dessert very well, and water refills were consistent too. There was still quite a number of people here despite it being a rainy Monday night, so considering that, service was very nice. Always get the brussel sprouts. It's my favorite item here. Always. I ordered the rib eye steak with veggies and asparagus. The veggies were very dry and overcooked, but the meat, I ordered medium rare, was perfect albiet salty. We ordered every. Single. Flavor. Of pizzokie that BJs offers and we made a fasting train down the table for us. It was my first time trying these monstrosities, haha. Truly an American experience. Personally, I think the cookies are too sweet but I am always a fan of ice cream. The extra chocolate pizzokie is a little bitter, and wasn't appreciated by our crowd. Our favorites were the strawberry shortcake cookie and the s'mores. The s'mores one has perfectly toasted marshmallows on the top. Truly a work of art. But overall, I didn't like the food here too much, but they do give so much and make up for the flavor with the amount. Their 14oz ribeye meal has lasted me 4 meals, so I'm still happy with it. I had a very disappointing experience at this BJ's location with a server named Kaley S, and unfortunately this is not the first time. At this point I am considering no longer coming back. The service was unacceptable. She treated other guests with care, laughing, joking, and offering them beer samples, yet I was ignored and dismissed. I had to ask multiple times just to place my order, and when I noticed the difference in how I was treated she gave me an excuse that did not feel sincere. On a previous visit, after I paid through my phone, she had not checked on me at all and then loudly yelled across the bar asking if I had paid. It was embarrassing and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the food was terrible this time. The corn was sour like lemon, the tomatoes were overcooked, the mashed potatoes were bland, and the chicken even tasted off. For a moment I wondered if it was intentional given her attitude toward me. I just dealt with it because the service was so bad that I did not want to speak more than necessary. Everything about our dinner here was awful. We showed up at 7:10pm. Waited in the hostess line for 20 minutes. We finally get to the front and are informed it will be 30-40 min wait. We say ok and they take our number and say they will text us. I did get confirmation text so we good. Went and sat in car. 1.5 hours goes by and still no text. I go inside to see what's up and see 7 tables free. I asked wtf is going on and they asked me name and said right this way to immediately seat us. Like... why are we sitting in our car in the cold if you have tables??!!!!!! Anyways we sit down, normally I would order alcohol but I was so thirsty from the long wait and didn't want to have a long dinner I just got water (first missed sale), we waited about 20 minutes and finally a waitress came to take our order. We ordered 2 appetizers (Mac and cheese balls and ahi tuna) and both ordered the ribeye steak medium rare with mashed potatoes (I got bussels with mine which was a $4 up charge). After waiting a little bit we got the apps in. They were fine. Cheese balls kinda mid. Ahi was pretty good but they never give you enough crackers. Like what's the deal with that? We just spent 20$ on this we can't have more than 6 crackers? Anyways finally the steaks come out and of course they didn't make the Brussels at all so I got my meal incomplete and had to wait for rest. I asked for AI sauce and he said ok and left. We peck at it a little. I start cutting my steak and notice immediately the meat is EXTREMELY LOW GRADE. It is 100% clear to me these steaks are trash. They have hard membranes all over them. Very tough. I could buy a better steak at Publix. They are cutting corners. On top of that both were over cooked. Mine was nearly well done. Still no AI sauce. It's clear the dude isn't coming back so I got pissed and went up to the bar where I said "do you know where I can get some damn AI sauce? Apparently our waitress thinks I would rather eat my steak when it's cold" and eventually they flag down a diff waiter to gets me a bottle. I go back and start eating the steak and it's just soooo bad. I end up telling the waitress it's to over cooked to eat and they got manager. Manager came over I explained all the issues up til now and he asked me what I want to do. I said I would like to have some dinner to eat. We are over 2 hours into this and I still haven't eaten. So he went to retire a new one. He actually asked me if I wanted him to bring back more mashed potatoes... is that a serious question? No I want you to take the cold potatoes off that plate and just slap them on the next plate (news flash I'm nearly certain that's what he did). Another 30 minutes go by... how long you think a retire should take for a customer? 8 minutes? 10 mi utes? No I waited freaking 30 minutes. I finally get my steak. My wife he been done eating what she wanted which wasn't much due to how bad the cuts were. The new steak was just as bad of a cut with very tough fat lines and fat nodes. It was cooked better at least. I ate some of it and then we went to pay. We had a $50 gift card from Xmas we still hadn't used so I was using their mobile to try and pay for everything. I put the gift card in and a banned pops up saying $50 has been added. THE BANNER DIDNT GO AWAY! Who's developing their website? They need to be fired! Because the banned wouldn't go away I couldn't process the rest of the payment. I finally got pissed and made the waitress do it. 3 hours total. 3 hours to eat dinner. Ruined our who night. We didn't want to do anything after. We will never go back. I didn't wanted the new cookie treat they have but I was so pissed off I just wanted to leave. Not my first time at this location but the service is always welcoming once you enter and my server was very attentive. The restaurant was clean and well staffed. When I was seated at our table it was prepped properly and we didn't have to wait long for our server to come around. Our server gave us the time we needed to make selections without never feeling rushed and I never felt once that I was looking for her to ask for something or to put in my order. She was responsive request and even made suggestions that catered to my preferences on pairings. Now as far as my food goes, this is the only part of my experience that wasn't as enjoyable. (Full disclosure my dish was altered bc I wanted different sides so this could have affected the flavor profiles in terms of balance.) The salmon itself was the highlight of the dish, as the cherry flavor wasn't overpowering and complimented the salmon nicely while just adding that boost of flavor. But when it came to my sides they were very bland in comparison. The white cheddar mash potatoes seemed to lack most of the cheddar flavor and didn't seem to have much salt. My theory is if it had more of the cheddar flavor it would have likely been the right level of. Salt. But when it came to my broccoli if there was anything there in the idea of seasoning I couldn't personally taste it. On the good note to that it's easy to add whats needed or preferred to it and I had no issues after the fact. Not pictured is couscous Mac and cheese balls. These were absolutely great. The chicken was not like any chicken breast I've had. It was rubbery and white. It didn't break apart. I couldn't eat it. The veggies were bland and also rubbery like the kind you steam in a bag. Waited over 45 mins for the server to take our order. That is unacceptable. We had to go up to the hostess stand and ask for our waitress so we could order. We ordered and waited another 45 mins for our food. And half of ours came out a good 10 mins before the other half. We ordered dessert and waited some more, the waitress comes back and literally says oh I forgot to put your dessert in. Like WTF??? I don't know what your issues are, and I get that all people have bad days but like really? I had a very disappointing experience at this BJ's location on Gate Parkway looking forward to causal dinner with my wife (we are senior citizens). Start off fine ordered drink for my wife, ordered food. When the food came my wife had the wrong food, mine was correct and was hot. Manger took hers away and we were left with mine. Tried to wait for hers but it was taking too long, end up sharing my food. When finally came she was not that hunger and ate only 1/3 of the order. I came here with me and 5 other teenage girlfriends for a yummy dinner after the football game! We had a 8pm reservation, did not get all of our food until 930pm. This is ridiculous. At first, we were sat at a booth, and the roof was leaking from the rain outside. I went to the hostess stand and asked to move, finally after a few minutes they came over and had us reseated. We had to move all of our belongings, drinks, and appetizers on our own- no help whatsoever. Our server was busy with a bigger party ( completely understandable) but we were right next to them and even after making eye contact, motioning our empty drinks, she completely ignored us. We finally got our food after an hour and a half of waiting... but wait.... they got my order wrong. So instead of getting me a brand new trey- they just put a spicy chicken and its condiments on the original bun that I had taken a bite out of already. Absolutely INSANE work. I got 2 refills after being at this establishment for 3 hours... not to mention it was not even that busy in her section. John(if that's his real name. a short, red headed guy with long nails on one hand) nonchalantly replied, well I was told to cancel them but if you want them I'll go ask the kitchen. I said cancel the apps because we're ready to order entrees. he took our order and it still took over an hour for entrees. He had an attitude taking our orders, placed the order and never came back. We kept asking other servers about our stuff. Around 9:30, we asked another server for the manager. A tall black guy who seemed overwhelmed and unsure what to do next came over and we told him we're still waiting on food. Mind you, we had simple orders that included two mini pizzas for the kids, two entree salads, two burgers, two steaks, a chicken sandwich and an order of wings with fries. About 10 minutes later, "the manager" came back with some of our food. Shortly after, the rest of the food came out. Several items were cold as if they had been sitting forever. My auntie wasn't able to order prime rib because they ran out early but she ordered a steak. Her steak was burnt and she ordered it medium. "John" did return with the fresh made side reorders minus the steak because my auntie just ate what she could. I think she was over it. After we got our food, "John" didn't come back to see if we needed more drinks, refills or to ask how the food was. When he did finally return around 10:20, my uncle asked for the manager. The same guy came back. He was explaining how at this point no one has apologized for anything and the service never got better. The "manager" said, "well I apologize" but it came across like I'm just apologizing because that's what you want not because I'm actually sorry that we have piss poor service tonight. I said, that's not a real apology. You could've kept that. As we're talking to "the manager" "john" says with an attitude, well does anyone else want the bill split? We ignored him. Finally, my uncle was like man you aren't the manager! Is the GM here? He said, yes and went to get her. Mind you, my uncle was a GM for over 30 years so he couldn't believe any of this was happening. Even my 5 year old nephew was like, we was late but we weren't that late and it's taking for hours, why is it taking so long!! Then the last time we asked for the manager, he said he was calling the police. lol. A 5yr old was outraged SMH. 10 minutes go by, finally the GM is free and she came by to get the scoop. My uncle started the conversation and I finished it. I gave her the run down from the time I got there to the moment we asked for her. I also let her know we aren't the type of people to walk out on a check that's why we waited to speak to her. We came out for a good time not a free meal. She was apologetic and sincere. She listened to understand and told us she'd see what she could do. She did comp our checks(not free but discounted) and gave the birthday girl a comp card for her next visit. She's looking forward to having the prime rib. So she may return at some point. Although the GM was great and she did what she could in the end, the impression was already made. Unfortunately, the rest of us won't return although we've been there several times in the past. It was by far the worst experience I've had in a while. Our server was the worst in the business, the interim manager didn't know what to do when customers complained and several tables complained tonight. I paid my check in cash and still tipped him because I've worked in restaurants so I don't believe I'm not tipping. read more

BJ's... web of bad restaurants? (Stick with me here) The appetizer was amazing but everything after that instantly goes downhill. My sweet tea tastes more soapy than any resemblance of tea. The chicken is what you'd expect for the price but not even that good. What adds to that is when I take the second bite of my pizza what do I see there except for a spider. A spider crawling all around my pizza and going under it. Final Remarks- Food that is what you paid for using a twelve page menu. Ambience is what you expect, a place that hasn't decided whether it wants to cater to hipsters or if it wants to maintain a customer base belonging to your local senior center. BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse - Breweries Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

In California, we were huge fans of BJ's so we thought we'd give it a try here in Jacksonville. We were sadly disappointed. Though the service was decent, the food was not. Our sons ordered the kids boneless chicken wings, lemon pepper and bbq and they came out extremely dry and overcooked. We were told that they may not come out made correctly because of a language barrier between the server and the cook that night. Not sure how that could make a difference, I'm sure someone spoke Spanish. The server also offered my kids goldfish and fresh fruit while we waited and we never received it. I ordered a personal bbq chicken pizza that also came out burnt and very dry like no bbq sauce. My husband ordered prime rib and it was very fatty but edible. read more
