From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely made us feel welcome. She's an excellent bartender, but what really stood out was the way she connected with everyone around the bar. She was constantly moving, taking care of people, and somehow still made every customer feel like they were her priority. She absolutely shined behind the bar. Great drinks, great personality, and truly exceptional service. People like Marleah are what make you want to come back to a place again and again. Steny's is lucky to have her. If you're there, ask for Marleah -- she's the real deal!

If you know Steny's Lake Country, you already expect a good time--and this newer location (only…read moreabout 2 years old) delivers, even though it's tucked into a corporate park. Don't let that throw you off--it's super easy to find and the parking lot is a huge plus (no circling like downtown). We stopped in for their Derby party and it was a blast. Fun games, great energy, and an overall lively atmosphere that made it feel like an event, not just a night out. Food-wise, we kept it classic: cheese curds and the lobster dip--both were really good. The curds hit that perfect crispy/cheesy balance, and the lobster dip felt a little elevated but still totally shareable and worth it. I'd definitely go back again, but next time I'd probably pick a less busy time so we can relax a bit more and try more of the menu. The atmosphere was great during the event, but it'd be nice to experience it on a more laid-back visit too.

That said... Every time I've been here someone literally yells at me that they're closing soon. The tone borders on hostile and last night the bartender did this to everyone who walked in. I got there at 9:30 and they closed at 11... she was yelling and swearing about how she's closing early and everyone would have to get out. I watched her try and redeem herself with a group of people she basically told to leave upon entering. You could tell they had already been drinking and wanted a night cap. After negotiating (read: arguing) with her, she eventually agreed to serve them if they would "drink quick." The staff act like they're doing you a big favor. Every time. It also seems they overestimate their people skills. Maybe they don't care? Who knows. I just know this place could be so fun but the toxic vibes make me question if I'll go back. Too bad.

A nice bonus is that you can bring your own food, or they have a small selection of snacks available for purchase. Friendly staff, great beers, and a laid-back atmosphere! We'll definitely visit again.

When we walked in, we were not greeted so we grabbed a table. Many minutes later, someone came over and asked if we were there to eat or drink or both. Someone ordered a burger and someone else ordered a wrap. I had the French Dip and shared it with my daughter. The food was good; typical bar food. Prices are great. Drinks were cold. The bar is cute with a lot of history. Service was terrible... but that's okay, we weren't really expecting much.

The place looks and feels very homey, like a small restaurant would look like in Germany. Sure, if you are expecting a Pretzel with Beer Cheese dip (No true German would EVER!!!) it might not be the place for you.... BUT: The Schnitzels are nice and thin and breaded just right, exactly how they are SUPPOSED to be. The authentic German Curry Ketchup was SO GOOD, I will go back and buy a whole bottle! We were waiting for the last dish to arrive and our server took it to the wrong table, collected it from the wrong table and tried serving it to us after it was touched by someone else! So, terrible service. To top it off the food just sucks. Tiny portions that are overpriced. Not authentic German, not even close. The schnitzel were absolutely tiny and paper thin, you could barely even notice it was meat. For $15 you get two puny schnitzels and a tiny bowl of potato salad. During our time there at least 5 tables came in, sat and left not even getting drinks.
