Small and quaint with updated décor! The place is clean and the waitstaff is friendly and very attentive. The food is pretty good. We've had breakfast there a number of times. They're always nicely priced and taste great. We had lunch there for a first time a short while ago and everything was delicious. Typical food you would expect from a coney island, but with extra attention to detail. Burgers tasted fresh and not of the frozen patty origin. Salads were crisp and my gyro was great. Also, we got pickle spears with our lunches! I never really miss lunch being served with a pickle, until I get one with a pickle and remember how nice it is. Food was cold. The floor had trash on it. The waitress I had to tell her twice about my Coca-Cola. I have no idea why I left a 20% tip. The place was busy though. My only assumption is that they never took the time to really look around the place and see that it could use a good cleaning. Even though I live nearby I won't be back. I love going to this place! Great food, friendly staff. They have the best soups though, honestly the best soups. Try the chicken gumbo, chicken noodle, chicken paprikash, or the chicken and dumpling soups, those are my personal favorites. All their soups are homemade and fantastic. Me and my girlfriend have been going here awhile now and usually the place is pretty darn good. The last few times have been a different story though. Fried mushrooms were so over cooked and black that they even melted through the box into another container. No Greek dressing for our Greek salads and no plastic wear even though we always ask if they put it in. read more

OK. For years Bizzy Bees has been our go-to place for comfort food and breakfasts. Waitstaff were the same great girls greeting us with a smile. We ordered Dearborn ham and eggs that had the best rye toast. Or we chose the hot turkey sandwich with thanksgiving style potatoes and gravy. Oh and soups good as moms! Sorry to end this relationship! New management! New servers! They said cooks the same BUT the food wasn't! Soup was only warm and bland today. Hot turkey sandwich came cool to touch and only a splash of gravy. Omlet had unmelted cheese and toast had cold butter. Server was first day and tried hard. Manager (owner?) did come over and took our bill and apologized. But don't think a return trip will happen unless we hear improvements happen. read more

Clean, updated atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Farmers omelette with toast was 5.99. Coffee is standard restaurant grade (meh). On a second visit, I ordered a cobb salad, which was loaded with chicken and bacon. It was pretty on a plate, but I would have preferred it to have come tossed so I wouldn't have run the risk of spilling salad on the table. Went to the Bizzy Bee for the first time to try it out. Run away! After 5 minutes of sitting, a waitress finally asked me what I wanted to drink. 10 minutes later, a different waitress asked if I was ready to order. Well, since I had never been there, I would like to see a menu! So after another 5 minutes, someone finally took my order. I said is the Bizzy Bee breakfast special $7.50 as on the menu? She said no, we raised our prices. It is now $8.50. Our menus are out of date. Then no kidding, 20 minutes later, the waitress notices I dont have my order; she forgot to turn it in. You can hear her yelling to get the Bizzy Bee breakfast special ASAP. I order eggs medium, yet I could have eaten them through a straw. So I finally got my breakfast well over 45 minutes in total. When I went to check out, I noticed they charged me for a coffee which I never ordered. After she took that off my bill, I notice a "service charge" of 20%. I asked what that was. She said we place a 20% gratuity on all bills. This is a coney island! So if you dont pay attn you may leave another gratuity on the table. So the net is... Run away! Tonight was my 3rd time ordering from Bizzy Bee, and the first time I had eaten inside the restaurant. I'm happy to report that I am very pleased with my experience. I work about a half mile down the street, and my coworkers order from here often. The first two times I had eaten here was at work, ordering in breakfast with my coworkers. They have always been nice, accommodating of our large take out orders (10 people or so), and the food is always good. Dining in tonight was a similar experience. Very good. 4/5 stars is a very accurate rating, in my opinion. I ordered the Frisco Salad with blue cheese dressing. I was impressed as soon as server brought it over. There was a very generous portion of almost all the toppings -- the cheese and tomato covered the lettuce entirely, as did the bacon. The chicken was just a normal amount, but plenty -- although it was just a little overcooked. I was happy that their salads come with warm pita bread, because I think it's the perfect side for a salad. I was slightly disappointed that the egg was a hard boiled egg, chopped in half, as opposed to diced... but with a dinner this good, I wasn't complaining. The blue cheese dressing wasn't exceptional... rather bland as most restaurant blue cheeses tend to be. Anyway, minor gripes aside, it was a great salad and I thoroughly enjoyed it -- plus had enough to bring home for tomorrow. The interior is quite nice, updated and pretty modern for a coney island. I read an article online (from 9/2011) talking about the place being under new management and changing names, about three years ago. The owner said he wanted something fresh and new, that was carpeted and clean -- someplace you'd want to take your family to. I think he achieved this goal. The quality of the decor inside is apparent as you walk by, and you can't help but notice once you walk in the door. It really makes the dining experience a better one. It's nice to look at, plus the cleanliness gives you a good feeling about eating there. Service was pretty good! The servers were several young girls, probably just out of high school -- but they were all nice and friendly and seemed to get along. They did talk among themselves quite a bit, but the subject matter was appropriate and my service didn't suffer because of it. I chat with my coworkers in the office, so I don't mind that they talked too because they didn't ignore the customers while doing it. When I was done looking at the menu (which took like 10 minutes, mind you), the server that had gotten my drink was out at a table, while I was seated at the bar. Another sever saw me sitting there patiently, and politely asked if Sarah was my server. She then told me she'd be right over, and even hung around until she came back and made sure to tell her I was ready. I'm somewhat critical of customer service, and it made a good impression on me that another server was friendly and helpful and made sure that I was helped when I wasn't even her customer. Anyhow, my order was taken promptly, arrived quickly, and she checked in with me 2-3 times but was not overbearing. Great service -- although they were not at all busy, for the record. This is a pretty awesome coney island. The only local place that I like more than this one is Ted's in Allen Park, but that place is hard to beat. If you're thinking about coming here, DO IT! Quality going downhill, every other week there is issues with something here. Today no heat!!! 58 degrees in this place. This was my 3rd trip to this diner, when you first walk in it's cleaner and newer looking than the average diner. the seats are clean with no rips, cracks tears and the table tops are in very good shape also. the service is good no sooner do you pick your table than the waitress is dropping off your menus and taking your drink order. The food we ordered came in pretty fast ( breakfast ) and it was a lot! I was stuffed and the wife couldn't finish all of hers. so all in all a bit better than your average coney island. read more

Ordered a Coney a loose meat and side of fries. Food came out fast, but went to wrong table. So I got two Coneys and fries, then a loose meat came after. The Coney sauce and mustard had good flavor, the hot dog however seemed like it was barely cooked, almost seemed cold. The loose meat had a spicy strange burnt taste to it. Had two bites and that was it. Just not my taste I guess. The fried were fresh and had crispy coating and we're good. If the hot dog had been hot I'd have rated this higher since the chili sauce was good. read more

The food is alright but the service is definitely lacking. I'm here now and the girls are way too busy worrying about their conversations than they are the customers. There is a couple next to me that didn't get drink refills (I still haven't gotten one yet) and they went up to get a refill and had to ASK the server for it. And now they're patiently waiting for a check but no girls in sight. And for me, I'm still waiting for a check. I guess the place could be better if they got better staff. Side note, almost all the tables were dirty when I walked in (there were only 3 tables occupied) and I had to wait to get one wiped down. read more
