I have worked in all aspects of the salon business for 20 years. I became somewhat jaded as I always had the "best of the best" stylists cut my hair. Although one of the "best of the best" (in his head) ruined my hair beyond repair 2 years ago. After making a sudden move to S.Easton, I still planned on venturing to Newbury St. to visit my current stylist because after scouring the internet for salons in the Easton area...I was a little scared. Then I saw a girl/young woman with a great haircut and color (color by Kat) working at a store in Easton...that's what lead me to Bizarre AND Ray AND Curvmetix! Curvmetrix? I know, I had no idea either. I walked in the salon to be nosy (still a little jaded) and was greeted by friendly hello's from every direction. The stylists were extremely stylish, great hair and make-up...the kind that you makes you say "I want THAT one to cut my hair". The owner Ray approaches me...I just KNEW him and I were going to be stylist/client for a long time. He walked up and explained his own cutting technique "that's going to take the world by storm". It's called CURVMETRIX, and as he explained it's cut on dry hair. I showed him a picture of the haircut I've been wanting on my phone and he said it was perfect for his Curvmetrix technique. Keep in mind that I almost need a tranquilizer before getting a haircut because of the horrible experience previously mentioned. All week I went back and forth in my head to cancel or not cancel. To cut (ha!) to the chase...Ray the person is passionate, kind and sincere. As a stylist he is passionate, an artist, kind, patient and listens to your needs. He treated me with kid gloves...I was sweating when I walked in... His assistant, Katherine (god I hope I got that right) was a doll and gave me a perfect blow dry before my cut. I stood up with dry hair, feeling calm already by his calming demeanor and he worked his magic. MAGIC. MAGIC! It is THE BEST haircut that I have ever had...sorry Rodney! (Cutler) Now I am not a skeptic...CURVMETRIX WILL take the world by storm! I almost regret writing this review because I don't want to share him... p.s. I was not paid, nor am I an employee. I've been going to Bizarre for two years now. After my very first cut, I unabashedly declared that I would never let anyone else touch my hair. I still stand 100% by that statement. The salon, itself, is gorgeous. It has a very sleek, open floor plan, funky New York loft-like feel to it, something you'd expect to see on Newbury St. in Boston, insead of Easton. Kat, one of the head stylists there, is pretty much a hair genius. After explaining to her what I liked/didn't like about my hair and how being a mother meant that I didn't always have time to 'style' it, she managed to give me a style that was gorgeous and required almost no work on my part, something that I've NEVER had before. Bizarre is the first and only place that I've suggested to friends, and every single one who has gone there has raved about their experience and now only goes to Bizarre. The rest of the staff are all extremely friendly and more than willing to assist you in anything you may need while there, including the owner of the salon, Ray, who created CurvMetrix (an almost engineer like way to cut and style hair dry). Bizarre is the best salon I have ever been to. Period. In the past, I had constantly changed salons and stylists because I was never completely satisfied, feeling like no one understood my hair type and what would work best to tame my extremely thick and unruly hair. I was recommended by several friends to try out Bizarre Salon and their CurveMetrix method which was designed for hair much like mine! This was the best decision I have ever made! The first time they used this method on me, I almost cried at how absolutely wonderful it not only made my hair look but how it felt! I actually enjoy styling it now and wearing it down because it so much easier to manage!! The staff at the salon are all so sweet and welcoming which makes every visit an absolute delight! ( and not to mention they have an amazing "$10 blowout" on saturdays) you can get your hair washed, dried and straightened for $10!!!!! I have been going to Bizarre since June of this year. I followed my incredibly talented stylist Ashley to this chic, warm, clean and professional salon; and I won't go anywhere else! Their "CurvMetrix" dry hair cutting system has done wonders for my thick, wavy hair. My drying and styling time has drastically decreased from over an hour to no more than 30 minutes, not to mention their color products hold for longer than any other color I have had anywhere else. Ray is truly a perfectionist, and won't let anyone leave a chair without a clean, straight and stylish cut. The staff is courteous, friendly and professional from the time I arrive, until I checkout. I highly recommend this salon, and have already sent several friends and family members to Ashley and other stylists; and they have all had a successful and pleasant experience. I have nothing but praise to offer regarding BIzarre Hair Salon, and its staff. A couple years ago, I had a traumatic hair experience in which my mid back length hair was breaking a couple inches from the roots. Not only did the Bizarre staff help repair my hair (through strategic cuts that I gave my hair the opportunity to grow back healthily, while not chopping all of my hair off - it is now long and healthy again), they gained my trust and built a relationship with me that has made me always feel comfortable entering their salon, and always makes me feel beautiful (inside and out) by the time I leave. There are few times in life you get a haircut that makes you feel so sexy, and an online review can do this no justice. I have long hair (middle of back below shoulder blades) I've had some real botched hair cuts so much so I'm rather difficult to handle when it come to keeping my length without layers. I heard about Bizarre through a friend who had mentioned they were in the paper because this Curvmetrix? I (being cautiously optimistic) needed to see what the all the buzz is about. We'll it's been over a week and the compliments just keep coming! My mail women noticed. When does that happen?! Maybe it's the bounce that's making me walk different who knows. Kat has been cutting and styling my hair for a year and a half. The Curve Metrics system she uses is awesome. I will admit the first time Kat dry-cut my hair I was nervous but the cut was and always is amazing. I constantly get compliments on my cut and hair color (even if I don't change the color). I always tell people it's the cut--- it makes all the difference. It changes my look and leaves me feeling confident. Not only do I love my ever changing cuts but I love spending time with Kat and the staff there. They are friendly and fun, and will tell me if I truly need a cut or color (even if it means leaving not doing anything.) Ive been a salon "slut" all my life...going to whoever could take me at any salon. Sometimes loving my hair, sometimes hating the outcome. I went to Bizarre...got a full tour of their salon by the Maine Man himself. I felt like they cared about me and I wasn't just a new client. He was the most nicest, real person ever! I have been there for months now. They always have time to take me with my busy schedule and two children. Ive gotten their dry cut, colors, and more, and Ive never been more happy :) My hair is always changing but always healthy! Still loving everything Bizarre has to offer. The salon has moved to a larger location in Easton and the setting is really modern and upbeat. The comfortable couch is still there, and everyone is very friendly. I am constantly complimented on my hair whether I wear it straight, wavy, or curly. It is long and thick, and Raymond has been able to cut it in a way that has made it manageable for years. If it wasn't for him, I would constantly be in a ponytail or bun. I am always pleased with the haircuts I get and also the nice job that Kat does coloring my hair, too.She adds just the right amount of highlights and lowlights.. I have always felt confident that Kat will do a nice job and she always does. I get many compliments from friends and co-workers on my hair. I visited the salon for the first time over the weekend and I had the best experience. Everyone who worked there was kind and welcoming! They gave me a tour of the salon and asked me if I wanted anything to drink. Ashley did my hair and I couldn't love it anymore! The color is spot on what I wanted and the cut is incredible.
