When I walked into the salon I thought it was beautiful! It looked like a gutted factory, renovated into a retro new salon. I was greeted immediately and didn't have to wait any time at all for my hair dresser to take me. I explained to my hair dresser how I wanted my hair; super blonde with super pink streaks that were hidden beneath my blonde hair as to only be shown when I choose. I work in a hospital. I wanted pink in my hair without being a freak-show. My hair dresser totally understood what I had meant and colored my hair even better than I had been imagining it in my head! When it came time for the cut I became slightly apprehensive. I had never been to this salon before, I had long hair that I didn't want to get rid of, and I'm not awesome at communicating the style in which I want my hair cut. I explained to my hairdresser that I wanted my hair layered, cut into for texture, and cut enough to be healthy but don't take off any length. I don't even know how this would be possible. My hairdresser understood and my hair looks AWESOME! I can't wait to return to bizarre and have my hair cut and colored again. I am highly impressed by the staff at the salon. Best of all, I felt that for the amount of work I was having done, the prices were unbeatable. I had an all over blonde, hot pink foils, and cut. This salon comes highly recommended by me. With the pandemic still in full swing, that wasn't a feasible option so I called Annette and explained that I desperately needed a touch up but I was nervous to see a new stylist and would feel more comfortable if she'd use the same relaxer I'm used to. She had no problem going out and getting the exact formula I use on my hair and was able to get my in the salon the next day. I was so pleased with the work she did. One of the reasons I don't typically go to other stylist, even for something simple like a relaxer, is because they'll often rush through things, either missing some of the new growth or over lapping with the hair that's already been relaxed. I've also had stylist skimp on the basing and because I have a super sensitive scalp, without enough base I start to burn before I'm fully processed and I'm not one to sit in the chair burning, it needs to come out once the burn starts. All and all I was really happy, and I'm glad to know that there is a stylist I can go to in Boston, especially when there is pandemic going on that makes it unrealistic to travel right now.

Last Sunday, I needed to get my nails done and didn't want to having to drive, so I walked to TP nails and asked if they were available. The lady told me that she was busy at the time but would be able to see me at 5:15 (they were supposed to close at 5pm on Sunday). She was almost ready with the previous customer and was ready for me in 5 mins. And then... I had the longest and nicest (basic) manicure that left my hands and nails in great condition (the lady was unbelievably meticulous and patient!). The price point is also unbeatable - $12 for manicure (well, I guess it's $15 with tips, but still... that's the cheapest I've seen almost anywhere in the greater Boston area). An mani-pedi combo is only $33!! Will be back next time for that. I guess the only reason that i am having a 4 star instead of 5 is that the ambiance is not as nice as some of the larger salons (the space is just way too small and needs some updates). But for the price and the quality of the service, I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Because of how fine/straight my hair is, I like a particular style and way of cutting hair that is not "how" it is taught in hair dressing school. Laura has heard this from me and provided a cut that leads from the crown of my part when it is on the side. This coupled with a blunt cut that also is somewhat asymmetrical and yet does not allow the hair in front of my ears to extend any longer when tucked behind my ears. She is also capable of long layers for straight hair to create an effortless flip-up. For my daughter, whose hair is dark blonde, she has provided truly "sun-kissed" highlights that not only looked extremely natural yet also grew out exactly as if the highlights were provided by the sun and were growing out over the winter season. Magical, truly.
