Most amazing spray tans ever! Ann Marie is really talented when it comes to airbrush tanning. Initially you walk out of there looking super dark but once you shower (at least 6-8 hours later) the tan is gorgeous and so natural looking. I discovered Impulse through a 3-session Groupon but I will definitely be returning for additional spray tans and I'm excited to try their salon services. DJ Doyle is truly the best esthetician! She has performed a variety of services for me including super hydrating facials as well as treatments for my dark spots. DJ excels at helping her clients relax and de-stress. Her product and skin knowledge is beyond impressive. She meticulously watches your skin respond during the facial treatment and goes above and beyond to provide her clients with the best services ever. Additionally, she does an outstanding job waxing my eyebrows and lip. I came here to get my hair cut for the first time. The woman who did my hair was wonderful. I needed a no-hassle trim and she did my hair exactly how I wanted and had me in and out in 30 minutes. I was going before a workout and explained I did not want a blowdry/style this time - which other salons sometimes give a hard time about, she did not pressure me at all and said it was not a problem. The atmosphere was a friendly, neighborhood environment and the salon was clean. I love my haircut and have nothing but positive things to say. The prices were also very reasonable. Anne Marie the owner cut my hair and she did horrible job. She definitely didn't know how to cut hair. I told her I was going to a wedding thinking she would do a great job but sadly it was so bad that I had to go back to my own hair dresser to fix it. My whole hair was so uneven. Front hair was longer then the back and right side hair was longer then left hair. It was just so bad that I literally cried my eyes out when I got home. read more

A woman named Adi answered my phone call, and had me come 10 mins later. Adi was very nice and required very little instruction. I unfortunately did not have a good experience at Glistening Glow. I bought the Groupon for three spray tan sessions. Just as a disclaimer - I have fair skin. I do not use a tanning bed but have done mystic spray tan in the past (with good results). Parking is easy (right out front, no meter) and Ann Marie was very nice. The spray tan room is small but comfortable. The actual spray tan takes no more than 10 minutes and then you blow dry yourself for 10 minutes. The first time I went I was very excited. However, after returning home I realized my neck was not done evenly and ii had "spots". I had washed my hands, but apparently water had dripped down my arm and it was VERY obvious. I also realized that because I am fair skinned, I looked INCREDIBLE dark (almost scarily so) and now had white spots on my arms and spottiness on my neck. Needless to say I ended up taking a shower. I decided to try again (this time I would do better on my part) and blew dry myself for 20 minutes (double the time). While I wasn't spotty this time, my chest looked "dirty" (not tan) and apparently my leg hadn't dried enough because it looked like I had a line. Needless to say I showered it off again. This might be a great option for people who are already dark and have hours to "dry" after, but unfortunately I will not be using my third session and will not be returning. read more

I came into Impulse as a walk-in on a Friday morning for an urgent spray tan before a wedding. Ann Marie had a client at the time and I didn't mind waiting. Once she set the foils into her clients hair she took me back for my spray. She did such a great job! The spray was even, the color was perfect- dark but not too dark, and its now Wednesday and I still have a glow. I really appreciate Ann Marie fitting me into her schedule and I 100% plan to return! I first found Impulse two summers ago when I was back in Dorchester visiting my mother and needed a good hair cut. Online reviews looked good and that the salon is within walking distance of my childhood home made it even more appealing, so I decided to take a chance... Anne Marie did a really nice job on my hair, so much so that I took my mom in within a day or two of my visit to the salon. She also was pleased and went back for another cut after I'd left town. Knowing that she was happy with her new hairdresser, for Christmas that year I gave her a gift of several haircuts at Impulse. No certificate needed - I just left them my credit card number and authorization for X amount of cuts and had no problems whatsoever. My mom has been seeing Janela regularly and always looks forward to getting her hair done and spending some time with her. When my mom had surgery this past August and couldn't make it to the salon, Janela went to my mom! The kindness and warmth she and Anne Marie (the entire team, actually) have shown my mother these last two years, plus the fact that these gals are pros at their craft, makes them worthy of 5 stars at least. I have had every type of disastrous spray tan possible.I am very pale and every streak splotch will show....UNTIL i went to impulse salon.Ann Marie gave me a FLAWLESS lasting spray tan, I've had good ones, this was awesome, its didn't look cheesie or fake and was completely even. my nails ande bottom of my feet weren't stained..if you are sick of looking like a carrot, zebra or raccoon,I recommend impulse salon. read more

All the services here are wonderful! I have had my hair cut and also done the customized spray tan a few times. It's a small place (maybe 6-8 chairs) but that doesnt mean a long waiting time. The spray tan comes out perfect too. read more
