Yesterday, my friend and I got a really good tan in a clean somewhat friendly tanning salon. Which I was told would cost $32 for both of us. So I put it on my credit card and sign the credit card pad and declined the paper receipt. When I got home I got a text message from my bank saying I've been charged $60. When I called back the next day, she Said that level three tannings were $29 each. Since I didn't have a receipt there was really nothing I could do. I have a feeling that they do this all the time, so when the "glow girl" asks if you would like a receipt, make sure you get one because if not, you'll be charged $29 instead of 16. read more

I just discovered this location and so far so good. The equipment was in good condition and very clean. They had a few stand up beds levels 1-4 and a few beds that I didn't explore. Overall a decent location for tanning. I did enjoy how this location appeared to have more locals than college kids however I think the price may be the deterrent. A bit on the higher price end but I will return! The one thing I didn't understand is some of the confusing pricing. I will have to inquire next time. read more

I purchased a 3 spray tan package just a few weeks before the pandemic began. I used 1 at the time of purchase and 2 were not used due to the fact I became pregnant shortly after the salon reopened. Glow extended their package expiration policy by 3 months, but this fell almost exactly on my due date so getting a spray wasn't in the cards. I just called today to inquire about my package and explained my pregnancy and also how my son was born with significant health problems requiring me to take an additional medical leave. I was told by the highest level of management that I had every opportunity to use my package and "they can't give away their services for free". I understand these are hard time for businesses, but I've only experienced incredible customer service from all companies during these times. People actually caring about other people! In short my life is now getting back to normal with many weddings and spray tans ahead! Unfortunately I will not be getting these services from Glow. read more

It's new and high end technology. Amazing experience. Amanda is wonderful and really friendly. 60 sec demo to watch on an iPad and she walked me through everything before I went in. The booth literally talks you through the process. It's specific to your height, is heated and has dryers to speed up the drying process. Just amazing. This is the best new spray tan on the block. You will never go back to Mystic after using Norvell. They have traditional tanning beds and stand ups. Can't wait to go back. read more

Great little spot in Watertown that gives a pretty consistent spray tan. Pros: Easy to make appointments online Almost always available when I need to pop in for one The tans last several days and are even and natural looking (except the rapid one) Cons: The rapid one has washed off the same night I got it on two occasions. The first time I called and they said "sometimes people lie and say they didn't use dove soap and they did". Seemed weird to accuse customers of lying, and I don't use dove ever but I just assumed I had done something wrong. I asked if I could get some money back and she said she would call me back, never did. I tried a rapid again and got the same results. Now I just do the regular ones The groupons are only good for new customers!! Beware they will not honor this. Overall the tan is great and I will return for that. But the business and customer loyalty could be better. It always kind of rubs me the wrong way when places don't treat their customers well. read more

As it was my tan-niversary with Glow two days ago, I thought this might be the time to update my review. Ever since my last review, I tried all the machines from level 2 to 4. I've always felt that they are clean and well maintained which I think is very important for a tanning salon. Jenna, the owner, is the sweetest person I've ever met. She is very kind and I can see that she puts the convenience of the customers first. I think that's why all the members come in with huge smiles on their faces. Other staffs who work there are all very nice and sweet too:) Amy is the ultimate multiplayer. She does waxing, facials, makeup and even brow & lashes tinting. I almost anticipate for some sort of event like friend's wedding so that I can get my makeup done by her as I've seen so many awesome works of hers! Last but not least, or maybe most important, you can get 40% discount for unlimited if you if you join on the first day of each month! I usually purchase level 4 unlimited but as I'm tanning outdoors too during summer I bought level 2 for this month(and they were so cool with that too!) it only costed $52.79! For unlimited! I just love going to Glow because I feel so welcomed and the place is full of positive vibe that it at some point has become a part of my life. I walked in without an appointment since I was in the area (don't recommend-call first!) and they were able to squeeze me in. The girls were super nice and understanding. They gave me all the info and tips I needed for my spray tan in the machine. Became aware of this place from Groupon (yet again) where I bought an extremely reasonable package for 3 visits for spray tanning. I have only gone once so far, but it came out very well/natural and lasted for about 10 days. At this visit I became aware that they do eye lash lift and tints. Very reasonably priced and great results. Lasted forever! Very clean and inviting. It is right next to the UPS store in Watertown by the Arsenal Mall. Little hole in the wall. So cute! read more

I decided to book a spray tan at Glow as a little self care pick me up. I have only had one spray tan before, several years ago so I am pretty unfamiliar with the process especially with the automatic machine. Jenna was SO nice and patient explaining the instructions of the spraying process. I've worked in customer service for several years and I can see how explaining these instructions from beginning to end could get old, but she was so genuinely nice and didn't seem to just be going through the motions. I purchased a groupon for a spray tan in February and held onto it until June when we had our engagement pictures. I had no problems and loved the salon so I decided to purchase another Groupon for another spray tan 3 weeks later for my fiance's graduation. I purchased a second groupon for an additional spray tan, called and made the appt. I gave them my name (which they had in the system from my previous appt) and told them I had a groupon for the spray tan... again, no problem, they scheduled me an appt for 10:15 AM the next day. I arrive today for my 10:15 AM appointment, gave the woman my name and she goes "$26." I explained I had the groupon and she said, "no, you can't use that." I was confused and she explained that I failed to read the fine print which states, "Valid only for clients who have not been active in the salon within the past 6 months." Oops. My fault for missing that, HOWEVER, I should have been told that when I called to schedule this appointment. Instead, I drove 25+mins to this salon to be treated horribly. In a very rude tone, the girl told me to call Groupon and ask for a refund. I called groupon in the parking lot and they didn't even want to refund me because they could not understand why they would not let me use it. I walked back in the salon and asked to speak to a manager. I was then told the woman I had been speaking with was a manager. HA. She then started talking about how much she hates groupon and how groupon's are "the worst." As a manager, if you have such a problem with people using groupons, DO NOT participate with it! Simple. Initially, I was going to pay the $26 because I was already there, but the managers rude and unprofessional attitude turned me away. I had NO interest in giving my business to this salon. Instead, I found a nice salon in Davis Square to get my spray tan. I would advise finding a professional manager that treats customers respectfully and DO NOT participate with groupon if you have such a problem with it! read more

I went in about an hour later, and since I was completely clueless (haven't been to a Mystic tan before), the woman working talked me through it. What inspired me to write this review was that for many years I've been searching for a really good Eyebrow Wax. I grew my eyebrows out for months because I was tired of trying new places in the area and being frustrated with the results and spending money on something that left me feeling worse. I made an appointment here with Amy and it was the greatest experience! She has such a gentle touch and there was no anticipation of the pain to come! After pulling the strip off she put her slightly-cold hands over the affected area and it felt so relieving! She really has a trick to making the experience as comfortable as possible! My eyebrows turned out perfect! I felt like they were photo-shopped onto my face permanently! I didn't have the typical red-puffy reaction that occurs at other salons. I've been coming to this Salon for over 10 years now. It was originally under a different name and then it was bought out and changed to Glow. That was a great change but in this past year it was bought out again and this time it is better than EVER!!! The new owner is almost always in the building, she is extremely involved in the quality of care received by anyone who walks through the door. It seems less like a tanning center and more the a beauty/life enhancing club! ~Spray tan review~ The Norvell system is rad and stands head and shoulders above other spray tan systems, like the one *ahem* in Davis Square with a tiny fan and paper towels to dry off with.
