    Stuffed Pork Loin
    Jason Z.

The food was very good. I got the stuffed pork loin. It was cooked very nicely. It was delicious. My wife got the Drunken Chicken Parm, which I was torn between. I think I made the right choice. It was good, but the pork was better. The service was good. The restaurant was nice looking, fancy enough for a water park.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with my children. The secret I have learned is to make your reservations nice and early (meaning when you book, not necessarily early in the evening). Destiny was our server and he was very attentive. Kids had soda and I had a glass of Matua ($12). It was fruity and bold for a Sauvignon Blanc. For appetizer we all shared the French onion soup. An oversized crock, with endless cheese and onions. Surprisingly I found myself adding both salt and pepper. Didn't detract from the delicious flavor- perhaps they cater to a crowd palette that is more neutral. I'd order again. Son had chicken fingers and fries off the kids menu (ate them all, shocker). Daughter had Bigsby burger and really enjoyed it and I had the shrimp and grits at the recommendation of our server, Destiny. Do not sleep on the Shrimp and Grits. I know you're going to be lured by the delicious looking chicken parm- trust me, this was a hard decision. It almost came down to a coin flip. On the one hand the chicken parm swimming in spaghetti with vodka sauce kept coming out of the kitchen ordered in popularity much like an assembly line at a wedding with one food choice. But on the other hand, the promise of blacked shrimp, blister tomatoes, chorizo and cheesy grits swimming in pan juice........ so what made me decide? Destiny say the four magic words "if you're looking for a cream dish." Yes, I know, more than 4 words but my brain only heard "looking for creamy dish". All in all I'd revisit Bixbys. When visiting water park restaurants you need to have managed expectations. The staff is going to be grossly UNDERSTAFFED, and working tons of overtime. They are tired. They are doing the best they can. Smile, enjoy, ask them how they are doing- it's funny how when you put good out there, good returns. Looking forward to returning!

    Pork buns - too salty.

I was nervous after reading all the horrible reviews. I was pleasantly surprised - we had a great meal. The burger was fantastic! Cooked to perfection with caramelized onions and crispy bacon. My husband had the salmon which he enjoyed. The chopped salad was very good with the right amount of dressing - it was a shallot vinaigrette. The pork buns appetizer was ok - too salty for me. It took away from the flavor. The service was just fine - I will say though they had just opened and we were the first table seated. We were seated in a cozy comfy booth that had a private feel. Very tall booths. The kids enjoyed their meals.

App was the only part I loved. Still waiting for the rest of my food almost an hour later.

Really sad to leave this review as it started out great but really went downhill fast. We did the Hudson Valley Week special which was $44 a plate. The apps were great but our main was totally cold and we had to ask for our check before we even got the rest of our meal because service was so very slow. Even after asking for the check and the rest to be boxed we have sat here for about 20 minutes just waiting. Had the potential to be great but was just a flop. Definitely should not be on the Hudson Valley Week list.

This is the result of waiting for so long with no information from the staff, my niece eating cup o noodles. Great time at Kart'wrong'

7:15 reservations, the time is now 8:45. Still no food, no apps. We were offered croutons...yes croutons will fill my 7 year old niece's stomach. Literally every single table that came in after us got their food. After numerous complaints to multiple people, they offered no resolution. All they said was "there's nothing I can do". BS! How can there be no back up plan? The least they should have done is stop everyone else's order and rush out ours since we've been there for more than an hour. Please fire your kitchen staff and "managers" or at least train them better. F Kartrite, F Bixby's

So, here we are after a few rounds of trivia (which was the best part of the dining experience). I ordered two apps, pretzels and Philly cheese steak rolls. You can't mess those up, right?! Our food arrived and my Philly rolls look like they were cooked last week. I bit into one of them and it tasted like it was cooked last week. I moved on to the pretzels, WOW, I don't know how a pretzel could taste like it was a month old. The honey mustard nor the salt covered up the stale taste. We told our waiter about the food. He seemed to get upset as if he had cooked the food himself. He asked with an attitude, "would you like to talk to my manager?!" I replied, "sure, I would like to tell him about the food." Our waiter walked over to the manager, Chez and told him he wanted to speak with him. The manager, Chez has literally been talking with two people for over 20 mins (they seem to be friendly). He clearly has no desire to discuss how we felt about the food here. I'm pretty sure he is avoiding us bc he doesn't want to talk about this crap they call food! So, I will gladly tell people to avoid this place like the plague. I wouldn't eat here if they offerred me free food for the rest of my life. The food and unprofessionalism of the staff will be enough to close this place soon.

My brother-in-law ordered the combo with mixed meats and seafood for one, and it was absolutely amazing fresh, flavorful, and more than enough food. I ordered the fajitas; they were good, but next time I'd skip those and go straight for the nachos and the tostadas, which looked outstanding. Before we even finished scanning the menu, the owner brought out food for the baby on the house, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. The drinks were excellent as well made and refreshing. Overall, great food, great service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back for more of his amazing meals.

This place popped up just off our route and I'm so glad it did. Being from Texas, it's hard to find good Tex-Mex and Mexican food. El Sombrero fit the bill. Inside, it looks like any place we might go for Tex-Mex in Texas. Our waiter, Elias, was absolutely amazing! The top shelf margarita was truly top shelf. It was seriously one of the best I've had. One thing that sets this place apart from so many restaurants... The guy who owns it is a butcher. They have the most amazing cuts of meat and they know how to prepare them. I got the mixed fajitas, while my husband got the steak. The cuts of meat were perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked in both our meals. I asked Elias to bring me the hottest hot sauce they have and what he brought me was so good that I wished I had some for home. I mentioned this to him and when he brought us the check, he brought me some to take home! What a sweetheart! I really wish this place was closer to home, but it's good enough to take a drive for periodically. We'll be back.

The hotel itself is cozy, full of charming little spaces, and we truly felt pampered throughout our stay. It's pet-friendly (huge plus!), and everyone was incredibly kind to my dog--he had the best time exploring the hiking trails with me. The vibe is very relaxed, peaceful, and the perfect place to disconnect from the world. Now for the real star of the show: the food. We did the tasting menu and it was so good. I loved the intention behind each dish and how they highlighted seasonal ingredients and the local farm sources. My personal favorites were the mushroom dish and the venison--both were phenomenal. The staff was warm, attentive, and did a great job walking us through each course. A few small observations: The dining room was a little too dark--I love seeing my food, especially when it's so beautifully presented. Since it was my birthday, I expected a bit more than a lone candle. No cookie, treat, or even a candle placed on top of dessert--it just didn't feel special. Dessert wasn't for me. It was somewhere between a milkshake and ice cream, but with a strange mochi-like texture and an overpowering amount of lavender. It felt like eating soap. The quail course tasted amazing, but the presentation wasn't appealing. It looked a bit messy, and leaving the head on (even though it wasn't edible) felt off. That said, everything was incredible--thoughtfully crafted, delicious, and visually stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and the whole experience. Highly recommend--can't wait to return!

My party of 4 was a little early, so we had a drink in the tavern downstairs first; bartender made a great whisky sour. For dinner, we did the a la carte menu. Overall I thought the food was excellent, though I wished they offered sides (especially some type of a potato for the burger). Would have gladly paid for additional sides a la carte.
