Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich
April L.

Bite is such a cute spot to grab a bite! I am honestly very impressed by Bite. I thought it would just be the run of the mill sandwhich shop but all the food tastes very homey. Reading the other reviews it seems like everything is made in the kitchen which is amazing. I love the soups I have gotten so far (lentil soup and white chicken chili rice soup) and would highly recommend. I also got to taste the chicken schnitzel sandwhich and they do not skimp on the chicken which we appreciated. Would definitely come back to Bite if I am ever in the area. Service is also good and not too long of a wait.

I was about to head to Hale & Hearty's in the area when my sister convinced me to try Bite for the first time, and it did not disappoint. A casual spot in Flatiron that offers a decent variety of soups, wraps and sandwiches with a fantastic playlist in the background! The country tomato soup (vegan) was quite tasty, but the star of the dish was actually the French bread that comes with it which was toasted to perfection. We also ordered the chicken schnitzel sandwich, which has greens, tomatoes, and a chicken cutlet. I shared half with my sister and it was really filling! I also noticed that the art on the walls were made by a local artist and it appeared to be for sale which is a really unique touch. (The restroom was out of order the day I went, so you may need to find a backup plan in the area just in case) Would definitely come back if I'm in the area!

I ate in here for the first time and had the same great experience I've had as with take out. Staff are fab as always and the quality is good.

Solid sandwiches and great tasting food. Everything is affordable. Glad I came here! Service is nice and friendly too

Made a last minute decision to come here after our nearby choice had too long a wait and ultimately I don't totally know how it has such positive reviews. We got two sandwiches: exotic tuna and apple/turkey/Brie. The former I much preferred as I do like a good cranberry curry concoction, but it was a bit too sweet, not solid enough, and could have used more tuna. The latter I really thought I would like except they had forgotten the Brie....which we didn't realize until after a few bites. So it was very much just a dry and bland sandwich. The saving grace was the bread, which was good. The falafel was cheap but we could've skipped it. Menu is extensive, at least. Not sure if that means everything is just meh or if they have some specialties.

We really enjoyed our meal here. It's affordable, friendly service, and it filled the spot. We got the salami Panini , and the exotic tuna sandwich, as well as the Hummus and chicken. I really enjoyed the Tuna, and my friend loved the Hummus. Will come back sometime

Bite is a sandwich shop I had not yet tried until now. Their fried chicken cutlet hit the spot with a nice crunch on decently fresh bread. My sandwich was in a tasty sauce that was not overwhelming. Service was quick and the prices reasonable (for NYC). This store had a more upscale ambiance for a sandwich shop and probably caters to nearby office workers. Either way it's a good place if you want a quick breakfast sandwich.

Chicken Schnitzel (rice not from restaurant)

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered from Bite. I found it on Grubhub and decided to try the chicken schnitzel after reading some positive reviews. The menu is mostly Mediterranean fare with some Italian sandwiches as well. They have several vegan options as well. Including vegan schnitzel (not sure what protein they use). They have both a schnitzel sandwich and schnitzel plate. I went with the plate which comes with two large pieces of chicken (seriously generous portion- I was impressed), a side salad and zaatar fries or rice. I thought it was a great value. The chicken was a great portion and wasn't too greasy, which is essential for me.. Needed a little bit of salt but otherwise tasty! I wouldn't order desserts from here though. I ordered a homemade chocolate chip cookie. It was large but didn't taste as fresh for some reason.

Prosciutto and Mozzarella Panini with Pesto
Mosa H.

YUM! Don't walk past this wonderful sandwich spot- their paninis are to die for. The prosciutto and mozzarella is amazing and fresh, with sweet tangy sun dried tomatoes. I opted to add pesto, which gave it a bit more flavor but perhaps made it a big greasy. The vibes are small local cafe, with a surprising amount of tables. I'll definitely be back- although a small panini (pictured) will run you $11.

Mediterranean Salad

The falafel is a bit pricey with inflation, but it's still good :) Whether you get the Mediterranean salad or fresh banana bread, you'll likely enjoy your quick bite whether to dine in or to go. Service is friendly, fast, and helpful. There are a few seats with tables and counters if you want to meet up with folks or hangout to get some work time. Parking is likely tough in the street, but public transit options are nearby to avoid the headache of searching for a spot.

Panini and Soup Combo

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Bite yet! I've been coming to Bite for years for an affordable, reliable meal. It can be busy or have slow service during peak times but it's definitely worth the wait! The paninis can be a bit heavy/dry at times but they definitely don't skimp out on the ingredients. I recommend the panini options; I usually go for the roast beef or the chicken. I recently tried the Prosciutto and Mozzarella Panini and that was super good too! The tomato soup was hearty but could use a bit more flavor. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Chelsea :)

I have this thing with floors

Randomly stumbled across Bite. The food and service was really great. It's a nice place for a quick bite but not fast food either.

The food is incredible and the service is top-notch in a setting that immerses you in Albanian history and hospitality. The menu is extensive and I found it helpful to ask the friendly servers their recommendations and suggestions. I really enjoyed the sesame baked cheese, mantia and sausage dip as appetizers and saved plenty of room for their mixed grill platter, which is generous and filling; ordering a salad along with their bread will complete any meal and you will leave more than satisfied by the taste and authenticity of all the dishes. Not just a meal but an experience!

It feels like you stepped into a rustic little house that a family lives in. We really appreciated that they were playing Albanian music. The food is so filling and heavy so pace yourself. My husband and I shared the pepper dip and the baked cheese appetizers, which come with freshly baked bread. Seriously delicious. For entrees, I got the tava kosi, which is an egg dish with two pieces of lamb. Honestly I didn't love it. It's a LOT of egg. The lamb pieces were delicious, but I was already so full that I could only have one piece. I wish it had a bit less egg and a bit more other things, but I know this is their national dish. My husband got the qofte shari. It was perfect. Cooked so well, the meat was spiced uniquely, even the fries were great. I think I just ordered the wrong thing! I would seriously love to return and try another clay dish. We finished off the meal with Albanian coffee, which was like Turkish coffee, but smoother and better. All in all, left so happy and full. Service was so attentive, too. Go here for a unique meal in the cutest little restaurant.

The staff was extremely warm, kind and welcoming and a special shoutout to Irem who was amazing, gave us some great recommendations and took care of us throughout. I went for the $39 prix fixe brunch which is honestly such a great deal and comes with quite a spread. I had the muhammara, hummus, shakshuka and dessert and thoroughly enjoyed my coffee too. We also ordered the tuna Niçoise salad, which is by far the best I have had ever. One of my friends was accidentally served the wrong order and they immediately replaced it with the right one and made her meal completely complimentary, which was such a nice gesture and something we really appreciated. We also loved that nobody was rushing us and we could just sit, chat and enjoy our brunch. Great food, beautiful ambiance, wonderful hospitality and even the restrooms were spotless and very well maintained. Overall such a positive experience and easily a 5/5 for me.

There were 7 of us The seating was cozy but not cramped. We started with 7 family style small dishes: Hummus with Falafel Pops (chickpea purée, tahini, falafel, olive oil), Spring Burrata (roasted cherry tomatoes, toast, basil oil), Hamachi Crudo (passionfruit vinaigrette, citrus zest, cucumber, mint, sesame tuile), Scallops (carrot puree, serrano pepper, brown butter sauce), Tenderloin Skewer (zaatar chimichurri, fresh herb salad), and Shiitake Stuffed Grape Leaves (tomato coulis, yogurt foam, herbs). Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.
