It was such a cute little shop with great decor and friendly staff, I love the sense of community the place seems to have. Coffee was delicious - I got the "drink of the moment" and it was like an iced banana pancake drink with delicious syrups and cold foam. They make all their syrups in home too! I love how much they celebrate the community with flyers all around for what the happenings are in DoCo. Plenty of outdoor seating if you wish to soak up the sun!

After the pleasant observation that I was welcome to any seat, I was told about the help yourself coffee. Very good coffee! I was aware of the reputation for freshness of the breakfast fare. So I put it to the test, choosing the Eleanor Roosevelt--(vegetables with some Swiss cheese and a light mustard sauce (one of their claims to fame)). The dish was an egg omelet cooked to perfection enfolding the fresh nearly crisp vegetables. This was not the overstuffed, over-oozing with cheese omelet. Just the right combination of ingredients. Very high quality dishes with dedication for presenting a tasteful breakfast.

On both occasions when we came to open and eat it the food wasn't exactly what we ordered. The first time we ordered a number of cinnamon rolls and cherry rolls. When we came to eat them a while after there were cardamom rolls and cherry rolls. No cinnamon rolls. Not a huge problem but a little disappointing. Yesterday we ordered 3 Turkey Ole rolls with fresh fruit and some cinnamon rolls to go. When we opened them there was no fruit. Instead there was pasta salad which no one wanted. Nothing was awful but there seems to be some sloppiness in the food prep area that may lead to bigger issues if not addressed.

It was tasty, super refreshing and unique, and was the perfect place to stop for lunch. I highly recommend the handpie. It's very cute and small, so most folks were taking their goodies to go. The shop specializes in scones, so be sure to ask if there are any available as the pastry case seemed to be consistently empty. I ordered a black coffee and it was pretty weak, so if you're really in need of a caffeine boost this would probably not do the trick. The scone however, was perfection. The dough melted in the mouth and was exceptionally buttery. A light glaze alongside the dried blueberries made for the perfect sweetness as well. I would definitely stop by again to try the breakfast burritos and other flavors of scones, but would probably save coffee for a different spot.
