I also got a package of chocolate rugelach. They were so delicious, reminded me of my Bubbi's. They've now moved to City Kitch - which is a ghost kitchen in Wesley Heights. It was a cool setup. You can order online or at the kitchen and wait. I ordered online and walked over, and it was so easy to pick up the food! Plenty of parking if you need it. Anyway, I'm glad Meshugganah is here, bonus points that I can walk to pick up on nice days. I hope they expand the menu and look forward to enjoying again soon!

Covid-19: all ordering and payment can be done online. You select a pickup time too. I'm not sure if he was running behind when I was there, but I still had to wait about 30 minutes for my food. Ordinarily, this wouldn't bother me. I really don't like being inside with other people during the pandemic though, so my only feedback would be to figure out a system so that people can just run in and grab their food. Onto the food... The menu is different at each popup. We got pastrami sandwiches and matzo ball soup. This was the best pastrami I've ever had. It was so fatty and thick. The rye bread he uses from Verdant Bread is delicious. The mustard is perfect. I will say, I'm not sure how to eat it as a sandwich. There is so much meat and the bread isn't sturdy so it kind of fell apart. A messy sandwich doesn't bother me though as long as it's delicious (and this one was). I'm sad I missed his Latkes for Chanukah and am excited to see what else he brings to Charlotte at future popups!

My first time visiting Bubblys and here is what I saw…read more    _New Years Eve hours sign still on the front door 3 days AFTER the holiday (I blame management).  _Dining area did not look clean (and not very busy).  _County Food Safety score of 94.5 is not an acceptable score (more detail on this later). _Person on the register was talking on the phone while the customer in front of me was waiting (did not sound like a business related call).  _Not all food prep employees were wearing hats, one worker was touching his hair then back to food prep, nobody was wearing gloves.  At this point we no longer wanted to eat here so we left (went next door to Tony's Pizza).    I looked up their most recent food safety inspection and here are a few violations.    _Hand-washing sink had no paper towels (so are they even washing their hands?).  _Refrigeration coolers running above 50 degrees (should be below 41 degrees). _Dirt buildup in kitchen area (repeat violation from prior inspections).  _Outside garbage dumpster area was messy. _General cleaning of facilities is a repeat violation including "large amount of buildup near fryers".    Note that ALL of the food inspection scores in 2025 were below a 95. There are numerous other restaurants around with employees who care about their customer's health achieving scores of 100

He shared that he and his wife would be preparing made to order pizzas on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Incendiary. We marked our calendars and headed out and we were happy to see there were a good amount of people supporting Austin's business. We looked at the menu and each chose a pizza, I ordered the pepperoni while my wife ordered sweet heat without the jalapeños and also an order of cheesy garlic bread to share. We took a seat outside and enjoyed the views and Thursday night trivia while we watched Austin and his wife busily and efficiently prepare everyone's orders. We both thought it was evident that they worked well together. Our food arrived and looked absolutely delicious, we both really enjoyed the dough and the toppings were just as tasty. They also added lots of flavor to the salad. I was afraid the salad might not be very substantial, so I also ordered some pickle fries. Those were interesting, but substantially more food than I needed. The salad is already plenty for a meal. I've been traveling this week, and I think this place is the best restaurant I've checked out during my trip. Highly recommended.

Additionally, the building itself added nicely to the vintage mood as could be expected from the owner of Amelie's. Each vendor had a unique and distinct theme of merchandise so there was a purposeful variety, which gives two thumbs up to Amy H. for thinking ahead about customers' needs and bringing this concept to Charlotte; this type of gathering is more common in bigger cities, so it is refreshing to see it here. Items ranged from old Americana, Atomic '50s house-wares and lighting, clothing, art, to Chinoiserie furniture, and more. The event had such a huge turn-out that the ample on-site parking did not suffice, leading to some minor issues in the parking lot. Rest assured that this site does have ample parking, but this event received attendance that exceeded expectations, which is a good thing. Perhaps for future events the vendors could park in the rear, as I noticed that they had parked near the entrance. They should really have unloaded near the door, and then moved the vehicles to the very rear, as what happened was a bit inconsiderate to the patrons. But this was the only real problem with the event's organization, which is amazing for a first effort in the Queen city and very professional. I'm looking forward to more of these events. Maybe I'll camp outside overnight for the next one.
