Bistro Nota is a must try if you love creative food and a unique dinning experience. The old store feel is still inviting and quaint. The staff is outstandingly friendly and service oriented. It's kinda fun to watch the team prepare the food while you enjoy the excellent wines and appetizers. On this occasion they hosted a large group celebrating a birthday. The team did an excellent job at welcoming the group and making us feel comfortable. We are at pace that allowed us to enjoy the fellowship, food and atmosphere. Here are my takes on several items: -French Onion Soup: the BEST I have ever had! The three large croutons were a bit crispy but nicely baked and seasoned. There was enough blocks to break and enjoy during the whole bowl. The mozzarella cheese was smooth and thick and flavorful. It nicely was melted across the bowl. The broth was rich and had a strong beef taste. Moderate amount of onions that were perfectly cooked to a limp texture. -Beef Stroganoff: absolutely the BEST I have ever had. The beef was tender and in small pieces. It was easy to if needed and a had a rich, deep beef flavor. The noddles were perfectly cooked to be tender but a bit of firmness. The beef sauce was outstanding as it was creamy and melted in you mouth! Simply irresistible!! -Macaroni and Cheese: this was a nice dish. The noodles were firm enough to jab with a fork but struggle a bit. The sauce was creamy but very light. You got a mild non cheddar cheese flavor here.

Amazing takeout! In town for a soccer tournament and needed real food after team pizza. Ordered petite tenderloin, short ribs, and a blondie everything was delicious and ready fast. Friendly staff and cute spot. Would definitely return!

One of the best restaurants in Fort Wayne. We came here for dinner while visiting from Indy one weekend. Very cozy, wonderful service, and amazing food. We ordered the Bistro mac n Cheese, the Bistro Salad, and the Beef Teres Major. Way too much food for us, but we couldn't help ourselves. The salad was simple and we maybe could have skipped this dish if we needed to pass up on any specific dish. Our favorite was the beef, it was cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth. The mac n cheese was amazing, but very filling. We can't wait to come back!

Loved the new Landing area in Ft. Wayne! We enjoyed a delicious light dinner at Bistro Nota on a recent rainy Saturday night. The menu looked fabulous overall but as we weren't super hungry from all the apps we had enjoyed earlier in the night we settled on splitting a few small plates. The Lowcountry shrimp was heavenly. Tender shrimp, bacon, roasted poblanos and sinfully rich polenta. So good. We paired that with the Pan et Fromage. Fresh bread served with a roasted pepper cheese dip. Yum. We finished the night with a slice of the Sugar Cream Tart. It had a slight lemon flavor and was quite rich but not sweet. Lovely. I'd like to come back and try a full dinner here - the food headed to other tables looked amazing. Service was friendly and efficient. Great night,

This place caught my eye when searching for places to eat while in Ft Wayne for business. I'd almost consider this a hole-in-the-wall place. It doesn't look like anything special from the outside or inside. The food is excellent and the service was friendly. I had the braised short and they were amazing. Paired it with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, also really good. I highly recommend trying this place!

Food was OK. Not very many options. All the bread was extremely salty, had to cut the tops off. Meet was pretty good. Quiet area downtown which is nice. Service was good too.

Oh my - WONDERFUL in every way! Very friendly , knowledgeable, and efficient service. DELICIOUS food! Creative decor. Fun to watch the chef from my seat. Highly recommend!

We went to go celebrate my husband's birthday and our server had too many tables because the service wasn't the best. She was okay but for their prices we shouldn't be waiting to get refills for a while. We received 3 of our 4 meals an hour after ordering. I ordered a pizza and I knew it takes 30 minutes but my entire family was done eating and I asked the server if it was almost done. She said the cooks didn't know. I'm going to guess it was never rang in. Because it was pushing 1.5 hrs and it wasn't close to being done? They were steady but I wouldn't say busy. They had plenty of staff on but our server had a lot of tables. We left and she took the pizza off and apologized but I don't think that's enough when one person leaves and doesn't get dinner. If the kitchen was behind, if the pizzas were taking longer, if the service wasn't going to be lacking "just be honest at the beginning". Honestly was truly disappointing and not a good visit.

I had the Mac & cheese & dill pickle fries for a quick lunch. The Mac & cheese was not very good to me; a bit flavorless overall. The dill pickle fries were good. Dash In - historic downtown breakfast or lunch option…read more First off...Dash In won't appeal to everyone. The prices are a bit high compared to other places with similar food items. Parking may be a challenge depending on the time of day. And the dinning area is small. Dash In has been a downtown Fort Wayne eatery option for many years. They are located on Calhoun Street next to Pint & Slice and a couple blocks south of the court house. This restaurant has retained the vintage building feel. The interior brick and wood work are very attractive to go along with the more modern decor. The bar is very attractive. They have a very small street level outside patio if that is your preference. The shop is very small. I'm guessing the bar seats about 10 people. The main dinning area probably seats about 40. The team here is very friendly and welcoming. They hustle to serve. We went on a late Sunday afternoon and didn't not have to wait. I don't think they take reservations. There are lots of people coming and going with carry out orders. Today we had no problem finding a street parking spot. There is a parking garage nearby if no street spots are available. The menu is actually fairly broad. They have a special brunch menu along with a breakfast all day menu. There were several sandwiches and wraps available. A couple salads too. The coffee and alcoholic drink menus were very large. We didn't have either of these products this time so I can't give you any feedback on them. They have a special soup du jour and deli side selection. Today it was a mushroom arugula soup and caprese salad side. My wife loves breakfast and ordered a make-to-order omelette with a side of grilled vegetables. She really liked the light tasting eggs and fresh tasting vegetables. The tomato bisque soup is one of their staples. It is delicious and would be great with a grilled cheese sandwich from the menu. The soup was smooth and creamy. It had a gentle tomato flavor along with a more predominant milk/cream base. The soup surprisingly has a stronger spicy after taste - still outstandingly delicious! The side salad is very simple. It has a combination of fresh spring mix lettuce along with a minimal amount of onion, cheese and red pepper. The honey mustard dressing was smooth, creamy, thick and a bit spicy. It was mild on the honey/sweet taste while stronger on the mustard accent. The Italian panini sandwich was very good. The ciabatta bread was slightly grilled with a firmer exterior but not crunchy. The bread had a very freshly baked taste. The sandwich had a high quality tasting ham, pepperoni, salami and provolone cheese. The meats weren't piled high...but enough to get the flavor from each. The grilled onions and banana peppers gave the sandwich a nice zing. The pleasant aioli sauce moistened the sandwich and blended the spicy meats with the zippy onions and banana peppers. Overall the food quality was excellent yet a bit more costly than you might expect. The service was spot on and helped make it a pleasant dinning experience. The older building design, if you like that, adds to the overall experience. Give them a try!

I've been to USM several times and realized I have not done a review…read more.. USM is such a cool concept and has so much potential, but it's just never busy... It definitely has that big city market feel, but I just don't know if it's gonna work for FW? It's a well decorated place with eclectic vibes and a few nice shops/vendors. The problem imo has been that the vendors turn over so fast and never seem to make it... Whether it's overly expensive rent, not enough foot traffic, or it being on the edge of the sketchy part of town, I suspect USM has an uphill battle to really "make it" - Sure hope the place succeeds because it's got a ton of potential. If visiting, recommend the lil Thai vendor or Johnny Ox Pizza... Two of the better places at USM.

This place is amazing. We visited on a Friday evening and tried to visit as many of the vendors as…read morewe could. First, we got kids meals at Buyamba Sandwich Company, located in the west hall portion of the market. Kids meals are either a turkey and cheese sandwich or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, plus chips, fruit snacks and a Capri Sun. Pretty much everything that a child could want for a meal, and my kids were more than satisfied. Next, we got a couple of drinks at The Charlie Horse, one of the bars. They have Sun King beer on tap, but I think that was the only local beer. It's difficult for me to pass up Korean food when I see it, so I decided my meal would be bibimbap from Seoul Garden. I got my bibimbap with beef, a lot of gochujang with a fried egg on top. The vegetables were cooked but still crunchy, and everything was great. We also got a burrito from Pikoso, and that was great, too. I don't have much to say about it because I didn't get to taste it, but I was told it was tasty. Lastly, we got scoops of ice cream at Local Apple Cart, which is a little stand that makes its ice cream with locally grown fruit. I got a scoop of vanilla and the blueberry ice cream, which was super purple and vibrant. A couple of things to note: There's one pizza joint in here (Johnny Ox Pizzeria) and they only sell pizza by the slice during lunch, and full pizzas during dinner time. That was a bummer because we really wanted a slice, but we were foiled. The pizzas are huge, too. Most of the merchants in the east hall were closed, which was a bummer. These included the fresh food market, a seafood and meat market, and an Amish deli and bakery. I was kind of surprised that they weren't open on a busy Friday, but so it goes. When we visited, there was a trivia game going on, which was neat. There is so much seating in this food hall. We sat upstairs, where we could get a good view of the bustling happenings down below. There are tables, but also chairs and a few couches. The lighting is nice and mellow, too, but the noise can get overwhelming because the hall is very tall and the sound carries. Plus, there was music playing, so it was pretty loud in there. At the entrance, be sure to look around you -- you'll see some really cool murals on the walls.

The pizzas here are very good. In general the pizza is slightly thin but has a bit of a chewy crust. The crust appears to be well cooked but still comes out moist and tasty. All pizzas are 12 inches in size. A 12" pizza is enough for two people to share. The Bhan Mi pizza has a nice Thai taste. The topping were very fresh and the sauce has a bit of a zip to it.
