Honestly most times when I've ordered firewood, it's usually about 50% junk wood. I ordered a cord of wood from Steve Bishop, and it's the nicest load of well cured, mostly oak and quality hardwoods I've ever received. Let's hear it for guys who do things the right way. Very Grateful! read more

Jimmy came in with his crew and it was professional, and got the job done fast. Cleaned up pretty good afterwards. They did even more than we expected. Under promised and over delivered! Highly recommended. read more

I am rather disappointed with this company. I really want to hire their service since it is highly rated in yelp and online, other customers singing praises about their work. Naturally I want to ask quotes so I would know how much I would pay for a tree removal. But one big problem, for a supposedly 24-7 business described on their webpage, they have answering service who by far only takes message and no one returns a call AT ALL. I have called 3 times and left message twice. This does not leave a good impression to me as a reliable business. I am definitely not a valued costumer. Looking at their photos and reading the descriptions on their webpages, about their business and business supposedly operating since 1978 is utterly fictitious on my end. If they are fully booked, they could at least have the courtesy to call back or even tell their answering service they are holding off their booking. read more

I have had many jobs with Bishops They get busy but that's ok I know they will get the job done. At least they show up Even if I have to wait an extra week. read more

Bought a house and the trees are hanging all over the roof. not cool! So, they came by and gave me a good estimate to trim limbs and it means more light at my house. Overall, I'm happy with the work. The only thing I'll warn you- you'll find after they cut the trees, you'll find even more you want done! read more

I had Bishop's remove 12 trees from my back yard. This is a fantastic company: reasonably priced, quick, detailed, and safety-minded. They are impressive to watch work, and they left the yard very clean. Highly recommended! read more

Very professional. Came out gave the first reasonable quote for rather small job . I was told it would not take long and they could be here the next day due to the fact they were already going to be in the area for a larger job . I received a call they were on their way and to please have the gate open . The trucks arrived and they immediately went to work . Very professional . Every person knew their part of the job and went straight to work . I was amazed at the speed and the safety they took in doing the task . I highly recommend their service . read more

Contacted Bishops Tree Service on Wednesday Jan 5 about 8 Crepe Myrtles. Steve Bishop came out the same day, walked me through all the options, provided a quote, and was back in 48 hours to complete the work. We had significant necessary pruning work completed, the yard was filled with piles of limbs. The work was done with an eye to not damaging the pool or the neighbors yards/cars. The rest of the crew showed up and in short order the limbs were mulched, the yard was raked, debris cleared up. The ground was mushy due to rains, so when the crew showed to do the clean up, they laid down plywood to minimize the damage to the lawn. All members of the crew had professional equipment, uniforms, and all OSHA mandated safety gear. Interaction between the crew was appropriate for a family neighborhood. HIGHLY recommended! read more

A first class tree service. They went through my yard and elevated and cleaned all my trees and removed several. The crew worked hard and efficiently. The gear was top quality and they brought everything(bucket boom truck, chipper, bobcat, remote control stump grinder and all safety gear). Everyone was friendly and my yard was cleaner than when they started. I could not be happier with the outstanding service. read more

If you are in need of tree cutting (including stump-grinding) or heavy pruning services, I can give a hearty recommendation to our Las Gaviotas neighbor, Steve Bishop and Bishop's Tree Service. I used Steve's company for the second time ever today. They cut down two large gum trees, ground the stumps, and then did HEAVY pruning on probably seven more trees in my back yard. To my pleasant surprise, Bishop's team took no more than 3 1/2 hours to do all of this, including cutting, chipping, hauling, and IMMACULATE clean-up. To be honest, I got exactly what I paid for in quantity, but the speed of the work, the care they took in removing unwanted live and dead branches from the trees, and the attention to detail in clean-up exceeded my expectations. This was an easy transaction, from estimate through clean-up, which contributed mightily to my decision to take the time to post this voluntary referral. Frankly, I am elated with this job. The only evidence that they were here is all the sunshine that I could once again see entering my back yard, and the evidence of precision fresh cuts on the trees. Oh, and the stump mulch, which was all put right back in the bed very neatly. It's nice to have a neighbor business like Bishop's Tree Service. Thanks, Steve to you and your crew. read more

I could not more highly recommend Bishops Tree Service - these are the guys to call when you need work done! They came out to remove a big branch that had been damaged in a storm, and were polite, quick, and got the job done faster than I would have thought. As a small business owner myself, it's the attention to detail that really impressed me. Not only did they clean up after themselves, but went above and beyond by blowing my driveway of all the debris and bagging up the excess leaves that were knocked down. Super impressed with this work and I will definitely be using this service again! read more

Excellent company providing an adequate service performing the functions with commitment efficiency and without leaving any detail overlooked to ensure a great job. I recommend them totally. read more

We hired Bishops Tree Service to help us clean up our yard. We had such a mess, we had no idea where to start. Steve Bishop called me after doing an onsite review of our property and walked me through all of our options. He was fast, courteous and very helpful. He never tried to pressure me into something I didn't want. His honesty and quick turn around made our decision easy. On the day the crew was scheduled to show up, they were fast and professional. I walked the property when I got home form work and was very pleased with the results. They set us up for a great spring of planning and making our new home truly reflect our style. We will recommend Steve and his team to anyone in need of tree services. read more

I gave a review back in 8/2020. So, when I needed some work done, I called Bishops. I am so disappointed. Th owner came out and gave me quote in early September. while the price was high, my husband told him to put us on the schedule. He told us it would be 5 weeks. We understood. I called a few days later to confirm our appt. (I left a message with no call back). It is now mid-November with no communication. So after 10 weeks we rented a dumpster and will do the work ourselves. The dumpster is coming on Friday. Today (Wed), a Bishop employee popped by the house to tell us they would be here on Friday! We told them to never mind since we have the dumpster coming. So frustrating. read more

Excellent service. Called on Wednesday afternoon, Steve came by and checked the job out Thursday morning, and his crew completed the job Thursday afternoon. They were thorough and payed close attention detail with making sure the job was done properly, and they spent extra time cleaning everything up extremely well. Also had his crew look at another tree on our property to assess its condition, and if we decide we need to take it down, there is no doubt I will be only calling Bishop's tree service to do the job. read more

This is a fist class tree service! The cut two trees down, grinned the stumps and cleaned up after. Even went into the neighbor's yard and cleaned up. They were all very professional, on time, reasonably priced and thorough. I highly recommend. read more

Mr. Bishop and his crew have removed three trees and three large bushes from my property over the last several years. Most recently, they removed a cedar tree from my back yard in very tight quarters. Every job they have done for me has been beautifully executed and they have always been absolutely professional in every way. They are also very reasonable and well worth what they charge. I cannot recommend them highly enough!! read more

Prompt, professional, and amazing work for a fair price! My trees never looked so good! Four bradford pears topped off, one willow oak and one crepe myrtle trimmed. Will definitely be hiring them again in the future. Thank you. read more

Bishops removed a 65' very dead tree for us last week. The tree was in a difficult location right against our deck and among other trees we didn't want damaged. The guys did an excellent job. They landed the branches and trunk sections with precision. We had no damage of any sort. We also had limbs trimmed on other trees. Bishops work was outstanding & they removed all branches & debris leaving our yard completely clean. They were very reasonably priced, beating 5 other estimates I had collected. read more

Great company! Professional, communicative, efficient, and beautiful work. If you like working with straightforward people who know what they are doing, this is your crew. We had 2 trees removed and highly recommend. read more

Bischops tree service came out to grind down a stump in my front yard. They did an excellent job and were super professional. Highly reccomended. read more

We love Bishops! First contacted them for firewood - they had a half cord to us in no time, and it's great quality. Then after that good experience we had Steve and Co come out to remove three HUGE tree stumps and trim a branch off our 250 year old oak tree; a similarly excellent experience. The staff is knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and very friendly. Also, the prices are the best we found after researching Angie's List & Google. Highly recommend this local business that can totally handle its own with the big boys. read more

Where do I start? I called 2 other companies including Bishops for quotes to remove a pine tree from my front yard. Jimmy came by when I was at work and left a quote on my door on 11/13. I called him on 11/15 and told him I accepted the quote and to remove the tree. He said him and his crew would be at my house "next week or the week after". I received a phone call from Jimmy the day he showed up at my house to cut the tree down. NO prior warning. But, my house cameras notified me. I was at work. I missed the call. I called him back, no answer, I left a message. He called me back about 2 hours later and then proceeded to tell me that he did not include hauling off the wood chips in his price, yet the ticket clearly stated Grind stump and haul off ALL trash. He also said they would return to complete the removal on Monday or Tuesday the following week. They removed all of the branches except 2 and the main trunk. When I got home from work I looked at the videos of them taking down the pine tree, I noticed that they knocked my gutter off the corner of my house. They put it back up, but I went outside and looked and there was a hole in the middle of the gutter section where it was bent. Jimmy never told me this. I spoke to him after this happened. Right now it is 7PM on Tuesday 11/26 and still have not received a phone call as to why they were not here to remove the rest of the pine tree. I can say that I am very disappointed in the service for the amount of money they charged me to remove this tree. I will definitely find another company for any other services I need. read more

They were awesome! Took my tree down so fast!! Cleaned up the mess and even blew out my entire driveway!! Great service!!

Bishops Tree Service removed 2 large trees for a great price. They were efficient and on time. Couldn't ask for more.

These guys are phenomenal! They're like ninjas. They are in and out of your yard expeditiously and leave little to no trace of their being there. I have used them 3 times over the last 5 years. I have a Crepe Myrtle which they performed a crown cut on. It was amazing. It looked as if my myrtle should be on a movie set. Additionally, they gave my Bradford Pears a much needed "hair cut." This has been essential in giving those trees extended life. Further, it allows for them to be able to support their own growth. Developers love Bradford Pears because they grow rather fast and have a beautiful bloom. Unfortunately they have a lot of upright growing branches and they're not very strong. The growth of the upright branches adds weight to the individual supportive branches making them susceptible to breaking. By getting the "haircut", they get to start over this growth pattern every few years, ensuring sturdier branches, and in my case, no breakage. I would have never known this if it wasn't for simple conversation with my favorite arborist. If you need a tree trim, don't look any further than Bishops Tree Service. They're insured, knowledgable, and family priced. Sure you can find someone in the neighborhood to trim your trees for $75, but let that amateur injure himself on your lawn. That $75 could turn into a rather large lawsuit. read more

HIGHLY recommend Bishops! Called for a quote a day and a half ago and they were out here giving us one yesterday morning. Got 3 quotes and theirs was by far the most reasonable. They fit us in today already and had an awesome team that knocked out the job very quickly. Love how everything turned out. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing tree or stump services. read more

We thought our tree was sick and would have to come down. I really appreciated Steve from Bishop's Tree Service coming out and taking a look. Other places were trying to upsell me on the phone before I had even made an appointment and were charging a lot to just come look at it. Steve came out and gave us an honest appraisal of our tree (it's okay!) and told us what we needed to do to make sure it stayed healthy. He didn't charge a cent and didn't try to sell me a thing. Next time the tree needs trimmed (it's a massive oak) or if we decide to take it down, I know who we will be calling! We would literally (and have) recommend Bishops to our mothers. read more
