    Cut by Ash F.

I love how my hair turned out! Ash did a terrific job! I love the vibe of this shop and appreciate how they charge by hair length rather than up-charge for being female. I'm so happy to have discovered them. Thank you, Ash!

    uneven cut

Terrible experience. The guy who cut my hair (i think his name was Ari) was running super late at first. Not very friendly when he finally started cutting. I was scheduled for a deep conditioning treatment as well which he never even had time to do but the worst part is it all was how bad of a cut he gave me. Completely uneven! I tried parting it on the middle and the side which is my usual and both ways still looks awful. This is not what a $50 haircut should look like. I hope this gets refunded. I have attached pics for reference. Fyi my name shows up as Abby here for some reason but I booked my appt under Bella/Isabella R.

Christian at Bishops thinks he did a good job. I'll let you decide.

This was such a horrific experience. I've been getting balayages done on my hair for the past few years- never with any issue. I moved and needed a salon closer to me, so I scheduled a hair cut with Kholii. At that appointment I also had a consultation for a balayage, which I ended up scheduling for a few weeks later. I thought I had played it safe by having an in-person consultation prior to the appointment and by providing an inspo pic (included in this review). My hair color when I arrived at Bishops was VERY similar to the inspo pic, it had simply grown out some and I wanted to make some pieces a little brighter to resemble the inspo pic. The change I wanted definitely wasn't a drastic one. After the service was completed I was devastated- my hair was nothing like it was when I came in and was nothing like the picture either- the hair I wanted was more neutral in tone and my hair had turned out very red. Kholii re-toned me, which made things significantly worse. I became a cool-toned mousy brown with patches of red. Absolutely nothing like what I wanted. I felt like crying. I was offered a service with a manager, Christian, for the next day to fix my hair. I was very hopeful about this appointment but ended up highlighter orange. Despite Christian saying his goal was for me to "love" my hair, I really couldn't have left feeling further from that. I have absolutely no clue how anyone could look at my hair and at the pic I provided and think I could be satisfied. My hair looks significantly worse than it did before I went to Bishops, and the most insulting thing about it is that I PAID to have my hair look this bad. I'm blown away that they even took payment for this seeing how badly it looked- this definitely wasn't an experience where I felt valued as a customer or like my experience mattered at all, they just wanted to get me out of there. I have since spent about $550 purchasing toner, blue shampoo, and purple shampoo trying to fix this on my own before I went to another salon and paid a professional to fix my color. She was very confused about how I went from my before pic to my after, or how Bishops thought it was appropriate to collect payment after ruining my hair. This has been a very very expensive lesson learned- you get what you pay for. If you need a buzz cut or a very basic trim this place might be fine but I would absolutely NEVER EVER EVER recommend this place for anything where color or chemicals are involved. The terrible color job I got was one thing, but the complete lack of accountability, ownership, empathy, or desire to MAKE IT RIGHT are really what set Bishops apart to me, in the worst possible way. Don't go here if you actually care about your hair. UPDATE: I'm extremely upset about what was done to my hair so earlier today I called Bishops and spoke with a manager and requested a refund. The manager I spoke with apologized several times and said that the matter had been handled "internally". It was very clear she understood Bishops was responsible for my hair being totally ruined. I obviously didn't want orange hair. I asked for a refund. She told me it wasn't company policy but that considering the situation she would ask the owner. Christian (the manager who gave me highlighter orange hair) just called me back to say that it's "company policy to not give refunds" and completely divorced himself from any wrong doing. He said he thought I liked my hair... are you serious?? I wanted to be blonde not ORANGE. Everyone who saw me after I got my hair done asked what happened to me... this is absolutely insulting. He says that the company doesn't budge on this policy (even when they admit to ruining your hair, apparently) and while I begged him to ask the owner to call me he said they likely wouldn't. People need to be aware that this is what happens when you visit Bishops. This location is managed and owned by people who simply do not care about their customers. Do not go here.

    The new cut!

Just got back home from a great experience at Bishops!! The appointment was super easy to schedule, and Holly was a great help! I came here after having been to the same stylist for 13 years because I wasn't quite getting the results I wanted. I asked for some weight off and some texture work and Holly did a fantastic job meeting that request. And when there were moments where I wasn't quite sure what to do with something, she always made the right call! On top of this, she introduced me to a product that so far is working wonders with my notoriously difficult hair! I'll definitely be coming back next time I need some work done!

Blunt cuts. layers should never look like this

I went in for a haircut last week add got the worst haircut of my life it was super uneven and large blunt cuts throughout when I asked for a trim with long layers with a slight u. I called the next day to get it fixed and scheduled for the Wednesday to get it fixed with the manger but after his attempts to fix it it still looks choppy and unblended and it's nothing like I originally asked for. I shouldn't have to style my hair for it to look somewhat decent! This is not the cut I went in for and now after requesting a refund they said it's not possible which is disappointing to hear now I have to spend months growing my hair back out to achieve the style I originally wanted. I'm not sure how a hairstylist feels comfortable charging $60 for a haircut like this. Before you book an appointment here ask yourself if you would pay $60 for this.

My hair was a little longer than this, I wanted to get a little trim to return to this length, possibly a little longer/shorter.

Pro Tip: park in the building (on level 2 I believe but check when you make an appointment) and…read morethey can validate your parking. Wish I would've known that one, haha! Pro Tip 2: do not expect to get comfortable and relax because it's a small space with a lot going on so you're going to be asked to move-possibly a few times. So, I didn't have an appointment and I just called out of the blue as a new customer. I was lucky to get an appointment tonight and I was excited! When I arrived, the small space, with three chairs, were jammed packed. There was a woman sitting on the bench the entire time, a bench that could fit two people, but sat right in the middle. This person turned out to not even be a client but a friend. Like a roadie for a hairdresser? Kinda wacky given the lack of space, IMO. Meanwhile, clients had to sit in the hallway and the lobby while bleach and color sat on their heads. I too spent some time in the lobby. The place was REALLY busy, which could explain why there was hair all over the place. I hesitated to put my bag down because it was just kinda hairy everywhere and my bag picks up hair like a Roomba. I did find a spot but had to bring it with as I moved around so it didn't really matter that I had found it. The service was rushed but I don't mind moving around creation if it'll save me a hour or two in the chair. Most of the work was done by an awesome new assistant in the beginning. Jessica was very much involved though throughout the process. When Jessica brought me to the bowl to rinse, she sounded excited that the color looked better than when I walked in. And yes, it is better, but the root lines are still super visible given the really sharp starting point of the previously bleached strands. I paid her and tipped her but I'm slightly underwhelmed now that I'm in natural light. (The lighting in there is wayyyyyyyyyy different I think.) Unfortunately, I fly out of here tomorrow and won't have time to give her the opportunity to make it better for me. Then again, it isn't awful just kinda meh right now for a $70 (w/$10 Yelp coupon) treatment. Anyhoo, that's my piece and Jessica was really kind so and fast so I'd recommend her if you're looking for someone in the area!

She texted him personally to make a Saturday afternoon appointment for me and sent pictures of the wolf-cut I desired. I arrived on time for my 2pm appointment and was greeted by Thanh and seated immediately. I showed him the pictures again. Then he asked me if I wanted to shampoo my hair, which I agreed to. Then we got straight to work. At the end of my cut, he made sure I liked the result, to which I asked for my bangs a bit shorted and he readily obliged. I paid $45 (excluding an additional tip) in cash, but I didn't inquire further if they also accept card or if there's an additional fee for paying by card. I looked around the salon for a menu of costs of services, which he said there wasn't one. No problem, I plan on coming back for haircuts only anyway which I know are $45! Otherwise, I'll text him personally asking for other services if I want them! All in all, I was in and out the door at 2:00 and 2:30 respectively, literally (I looked at the clock). I was so happy with my haircut, especially for the price AND quick in/out time. Thank you Thanh for your amazing work!!!

Honestly very disappointed in my haircut. I was initially enticed by the $45 price but it felt…read moreextremely rushed, mediocre, and hardly like the inspo photos I showed the stylist. I would rather go a salon that actually cares about their customer service and attention to detail at a higher cost - you're getting what you pay for, if not less. Firstly, my stylist was on her phone for a full 4 minutes in the middle of my 18-minute (fast? or rushed?) haircut without explanation; I would be more understanding if I were given a heads up about a personal emergency or something, but to simply step away from your client and text nonstop at the front desk without saying anything, is unacceptable. Secondly, I've never been to a salon where my hair was not washed prior to it being cut; until I came here. My hair was not even styled at the end (see photo of when I got home right after my appointment). Thirdly, it's the bare minimum to ask your customer if they like their haircut, or smile at the end. When I was paying at the front desk kiosk, my stylist went straight back to texting with the click clack of her fake nails on the phone screen. I stood at the desk for a good minute or so after payment was completed before she looked up, and quickly said "bye thank you". There were no other customers in the store except for the nail artist and her client in the shared salon space. I would NOT recommend this salon to any of my friends and advise you to get your haircut elsewhere if you care about professional service and a good haircut.
