ive been here twice the first time was great i loved it i was getting my haircut the second time and it wasnt with the same person as last time and oh my godness never in my life will i return i asked for a modern mod cut i showed a photo and asked for it a little longer than the photo, Not only did they make it shorter then i wanted but when i requested a low fade at the ending to try and make it look better they did not try at all the so called "fade" was ridiculous. If you want the short side of my review, this is an expensive great clips and as a woman who cares about her hair, I will never go back. What happened: My appt was 1:35, the stylist showed up about 10 min late. I booked online and disclosed I had long hair; cost based online was $90 for a single process. The stylist quotes me something like $130-$195, mentions my length and I get nervous and ask how long this will be because I needed out by 4 (I've never been to a place that took 3+ hours on a single process); she assured me I'd be fine. 3:45 rolls around and she's noticing she's dyed my hair incorrectly and my roots don't match my hair, so she reapplies dye. This is then when I realize she never asked me about permanent vs Demi; I still am not sure if it's permanent or demi because now I'm stressed bc I'm not getting out at 4. 4:20 rolls around and she's drying my hair with what looks like a 1995 $20 cheap hotel hair dryer. I asked to leave because I have a hair dryer that would easily dry my hair within 10 min. The lady was very sweet and personable but I deeply regret going to this place. I haven't had permanent dye on my hair in so long and it's going to take forever to clear out. I've never left a salon with wet hair before. I've never had a single process approach 3 hours and my hair not be dry and me walking out the door. The skills are lacking in this salon and I wish I I wouldn't had deviated from van Michael, my stylist is out on FMLA and I was open to trying something more local to chamblee. I went in for layers and a bang trim and my stylist (Leigha) pulled my soaking wet hair into two separate ponytails to cut it, which is something i could have done at my own house. and since my hair was wet, it just kept slapping me in the face the entire time. i ended up having to go to another salon and spending another $100 to get whatever this place called a "hair cut" fixed. I just knew I needed Ila bit off. . A friend recommended this place, so I thought I would give it a try. Little did I know that it was an "a la carte" salon. No one told me this when I got there. I was very pleased with the results of my daughters hair . The only issue I had was pricing , I had a consultation done, and I was told between 145-165 . Due to extra time processing the hair it was 45 dollars extra. Of course I paid ,but I did not agree with being told one a price and end being another price. So a few days after my first visit, I noticed that I started to get some razor bumps on my face. I had never shaved or been shaved with a blade before, and I guess I found out why. My skin is apparently very sensitive. Outside of looking online, I called Makuta to ask him for some tips as to how I could get rid of them and give relief. He gave clear instructions and the razor bumps cleared up in a week or so, especially once my facial hair started to return. Before getting off the phone, Makuta apologized (which it wasn't his fault) and offered me a free haircut on my next visit. It's acts like this that will keep a customer coming back. This visit was just as pleasant as the first. Makuta holds great conversation during cuts, which makes the time breeze by. He seems to have a genuine care for the customer. You can tell it's an art for him. This time around, there was no shave performed. Overall, I'm overly pleased with Bishop's. The experience itself along with the customer service is UNMATCHED. I went in on Friday for a trim. I left with 4+ inches cut off my hair & the choppiest, most uneven cut I have ever received in my life. My hair was touching my waist before I went in. The pictures are AFTER I went back and asked Thomas to please blend the layers. Notice how uneven the length is from right to left and how choppy the layers still are in the first picture. Admittedly, I have been silent and spent A LOT of money to not get the hair coloring results I wanted. I never understood what the problem was until recently. I was just about to give up on coloring my hair forever but I decided to try one last time. (And only after just dropping a couple hundred dollars a couple of weeks earlier for what was the hugest disappointment in all my hair coloring history. It was so bad I ran around looking for different lighting just to see some color any color in my hair). To my good fortune I was scheduled with Desiree. She performed a miracle considering that the previous person had used permanent hair color on my hair which was really no color at all. She had a lot to work with but she took her time and EXCEEDED my expectations. I have learned that although my hair may be difficult to bleach, it can be done if the person allows the time to let it process and is comfortable enough in their skills to do it without all my hair falling out. But usually people are probably too impatient to take the time my hair needs, they don't know my hair so they color to what they are comfortable with (resulting in not ever getting the color I wanted) and/or too insecure about their expertise in coloring hair. I will never use another hair technician as long as Desiree is available to do my hair. And as crazy as this sounds I have never had a person that could color my hair AND be able to give me a good haircut. Usually, I have to see two different people. I love how she was able to lift the heaviness of my hair by giving it some really great layers. I have never had anyone give me layers like she does. I always thought my hair was too thick and heavy to achieve what I truly wanted. Lastly, the added bonus to this experience is that we had good conversation and I felt connected to her immediately (I have never went to a hair person and expected good conversation. I just wanted/hoped for my hair to be done the way I wanted). Desiree has a wonderful personality and comes across as a very genuine person. I felt like she really cared about my hair and achieving the color I wanted. And not just because I was a paying customer but because she takes pride in her work. read more

I think my experience was pretty good. I had to get a haircut last minute for an important, sudden dinner and my usual stylist was unavailable so I found this place on Yelp. Getting here, it's easy to see that the store's in a nice and accessible complex as I got a parking spot right in front of the store. I was early but they got me in before my appointment. Thomas cut my hair and it's a good cut and style. Would I say it's the best I've ever had? Probably not but it's good enough to last me a few more weeks and it's better than what I came in with. I asked for the length on the back to be left alone but the sides/width of the back to be shaved down since I have a faux mullet style. The sides are good and the width of the back is more narrow like I asked but the length was shortened even though I mentioned multiple times that I was growing it out. Was it perfect to how I wanted it? Not exactly. Does it still look good? Yeah. My biggest harp was that I walked out with hair splinters all down my neck and shirt. I showed up to dinner itchy (which I know is my fault for getting a hair cut right before going to it but you gotta do what you gotta do when there's no other choice) and had to go to the bathroom multiple times to get a wet towel and wipe away hair fragments. I would have asked had I realized before I drove away. I did check the website just now and saw that a complimentary rinse/hot towel was part of the service though. I'm wondering why I didn't get it then since they weren't busy, got me in early, and I was in no rush leave... Overall, this place is something I'd definitely at least try. Was warmly welcomed the moment I stepped through the door by the guy at the front. Barry took care of me and really made my experience phenomenal! He is the sweetest and gave me many great suggestions for what my hair needed. He gave me an excellent cut that framed my face well, a protein conditioning treatment for my hair (which it desperately needed!) and a blowout! My hair hasn't looked that good in ages! I asked my bangs to be cut at the top of my eyebrows... two inches and 40+ dollars later: And you know, they know exactly what they did because they texted me the next day to see how I liked it... have you ever had a new barber ask if you were satisfied? They knew damn well it was a sh*t show. All they would offer me is to come in and "fix" it, they don't refund. How do you fix hair when there's none left? When I called and explained it was unfixable, they agreed and offered me to come in in 3 weeks to get it cut again for free... I just want a refund, not to blindly trust you with my hair again. I came in for a yelp promo, and I was looking for a major change in my hairstyle. I showed Kelley, the wonderful barber there, a picture of a short haircut I wanted, and she completely executed it! She also gave me some haircare tips. The prices are definitely reasonable especially considering the quality of the haircuts, and the general environment is pretty modern and cool (free beer! Good music!). My spouse and I came here for a hair cut and my spouse had to go back to get her hair fixed with the manager because the person who cut her hair originally did a terrible job. That person showed very poor skills with cutting and coloring hair when I was at bishops. I do have to give props to the manager who fixed my spouse's hair for doing such a great job and making sure she left the place happy when she went back to get her hair fixed. However, I'm never going back there. To be straightforward, this place is great. When I got here I was kindly greeted and offered some water. The place gives of a really good vibe perfect for people in their teens and twenties which gave me the comfort I needed. Most importantly, the haircut was exactly how I wanted it to be. I told them what I wanted and asked for their recommendation. They made the explanation simple and did not stop working until I was completely satisfied. Kika is rude as hell and makes you feel unwelcome at this location. What's even worse is that she can't listen to simple instructions and will then argue with you over what you asked for. I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I paid for the short cut which on their site states includes a complimentary wash and hot towel - which kika completely ignored.
