Don't go with Master Moving Inc. for your move unless you would like to pay an extra $1,000 in additional move in cost from original quote, have your items delivery date set but not to be delivered until 7-14 days after randomly with no heads up, the worst customer service specifically from the highly unprofessional Ben "the supervisor" who came on the phone yelling at me the customer and hung up without letting you speak. Ben threaten that he will put my account on hold without even discussing any solutions or hearing me out. All I asked for was for him to talk to me like an adult and not a child with the yelling. My move cost went from $1,585, then to $1,886 and finally to $2,500+. Now I'm stuck with no one to talk to and will be taking Master Moving Inc. to small claims court. Don't add stress to an already stressful situation when moving going with this company. There are many other options and this family business needs to retrained on customer service for a high end ticket service. Your not spending $50 but thousands and should be treated that way. I moved out of state and they said the first month of storage is free but now Ben is saying that's not the case I would have to pay $600 since I had to travel for work after my scheduled delivery date. About the only positive thing I can say about Master Moving is that they are fast. They packed us up quickly and got our belongings to Texas quickly; but that is where the positive stops. The driver called us more than once threatening that we would get charged a late fee is we weren't at our new home on time. So we had to push driving past exhaustion to get there at 4am so he could start at 7am. The packing was horrific. I can't believe we tipped them ($20 ea. for all 9 of them). THEY DIDN"T LABEL A SINGLE BOX. This was horrible when they crew cam e to unload the truck and we had to open each box to tell them where to put it; but it only got worse from there. I have counted at least 6 boxes that had items from both the office and my son's room. They could have consolidated it to one room but did not care about us or our belongings whatsoever. It only slightly bothered us that they broke some wine glasses and a headboard (stuff happens). It was annoying that they put THEIR trash in some of our boxes (see picture). It really bothered us is that they lost some pieces of our other headboard so it can't be put back together. What made us completely disgusted and livid is when they packed our TOILET PLUNGER and TOILET BRUSH on top of MY SON'S DRINKING CUPS. Horrible company (they go by Master Moving now because of their terrible reputation) - they charged us our deposit even though we had decided we weren't going to go with them after we looked them up and saw all the bad reviews. We had never signed the credit card authorization form they sent us and never signed the contract either. We called them and they said they didn't need the authorization to charge the deposit and would not give us the money back so we called our card company to dispute the charge. ALL of my glass items were shattered. Lost my luggage and say they don't know what happened or where it is and even admit it was probably delivered to someone else!!!!!. no accountability but tell you to file a claim and give nothing back. I wish I could give this company negative stars. I've never felt the need to write such a long review, but this was by far the WORST experience I've ever had. My fiance and I are moving from California to Texas. Leading up to the move Nicole was very helpful and worked with us over the phone for weeks making sure our quote was "accurate" for what we needed. We provided very detailed pictures, itemized lists, etc, and in the end, they 100% pulled a bait and switch. When the movers showed up, the lead supervisor Mario had me fill out paperwork and when I asked for a copy he said he has to give it to me later... first red flag. Next, after getting everything out on the street and only getting halfway through loading the truck Mario told me it was now going to be MORE THAN DOUBLE the price to fit everything in the space. From $4,700 to now $9,800. I asked to speak to his manager Benjamin who was extremely unprofessional and rude. He yelled at my fiance and hung up on him multiple times. He said if we wanted to unload the truck and cancel the service we would have to pay him $2000 in cash. Knowing I had never seen this cancellation fee in any of the paperwork I had signed earlier, I asked to see it and Mario consistently refused to give it to me without any explanation. Every time we asked he just sat there on his phone and laughed. After arguing with Mario and Benjamin for 1.5 hours, we received a text from Benjamin with a picture of just one page of the contract I had signed where Mario altered it and wrote "If customer cancels, $2000". I know for a fact that wasn't there when I signed it, but they knew exactly what they were doing by not letting me have a copy before they were finished so they could get away with something like this. At this point, they were literally holding our stuff hostage in the truck until we paid cash without letting us see the contract. We then decided to get the police involved. Unfortunately, because it was a civil matter there wasn't anything they could do besides keep the peace, so we felt forced to pay what felt like a ransom just to get our stuff back safely. When we called the next day to discuss our terrible experience with their customer service, they could care less. Between the way they reacted and the attitude we received, you can tell they deal with this on a daily basis and get away with it. While I'm beyond infuriated with how it all turned out, after looking at all these reviews about how their stuff arrived, I'm glad we made the decision to not let them take it after all. We ended up using U-Pack and local movers to load the trailer for a fraction of the cost and I wish we did this in the first place. I strongly agree with the previous reviews. Please stay away from this company. After writing this review, I will contact the Better Business Bureau. Master Moving will provide an affordable quote on your initial call but as soon as the movers arrives to your place you will be surprised with other charges. From $2,600 it doubled on the day of the pick-up. We were promised that our belongings will arrive a week later from March 16th but it didn't arrive until April 9th which was 3 weeks and 3days late. I kept on calling this company but didn't get any answers until 3 weeks later. I was given a different number (Dispatch Line) to get updates on our belongings. When the movers got to our new location (North Carolina), the driver knocked on our door and screamed at me "Why are you not answering?! I've been calling!" I apologized and said that my husband was in the shower and must've not seen their calls. He shook his head and responded "you should put a secondary number next time!" Again, I just apologized. He did this to me while my 1yr old daughter was behind me (I am also 5months pregnant). The driver then told me that he needs to speak to me and my husband because their moving truck will not fit in the alley where our apartment is at so we have to pay an extra $600 for them to bring our belongings to us and on top of that we need to pay $75 for each flights of stairs that they need to go up to (we are on the 3rd floor). The driver told us that if we don't pay the extra fees they will leave our belongings on the street and we have to move them ourselves. My husband like myself do not like arguing and we have been extremely tired from our move so he just sent the money they asked for through Zelle. When we were unpacking, a lot of our things were broken. My husband's ergonomic desk was broken, cabinets were broken, picture frames were completely destroyed so we have to purchase new ones, some of my daughter's toys were destroyed that we have to throw them away, clothes were wet so we have to wash all of them again, my daughter's high chair was molded, my husband's gym equipments were chipped, we couldn't find some of the screws for some of our furnitures that we need to re-assemble, etc PLEASE DO NOT conduct any business with this company. I used this company to move cross country. At the pickup I was charged an extra thousand dollars because the items were not "calculated" correctly. At the drop off all my glass boxes were broken. A very important luggage was lost. I called the drop off company and it was not in the warehouse, they advised me to call master moving. Some extremely rude woman named Lupe told me that if i had an attitude to go solve my problem somewhere else and simply file a claim because no one knows where my luggage is. After that when I called they would automatically hang up on me like i was a spam caller. There is no accountability for any damages on their part because they don't care about the customer. When they left, we were told that the delivery would be about 2 weeks. It was twice that. I called multiple times for ETA. They eventually gave me the truck-driver's number. When he finally did give an "ETA" he said "I'll be there sometime on Tuesday". 5. When the driver arrived (7am) he called and said he couldn't fit his truck on our street. IT'S A MAIN 4 LANE PARKWAY WITH AMPLE PARKING ON THE SIDE... He then told us to "rent a U-Haul and come get our stuff" as he was parked in an empty field about a half-mile away. Luckily, I borrowed a trailer and was able to go get our stuff. All of our stuff fit in about HALF of a 6 x 12 trailer! (that's tiny). 6. When the driver opened his trailer, our belongings were COMPLETELY CRUSHED, being held up by straps that were so tight 3 GROWN MEN COULDN'T MOVE THEM! One of our TVs was bent like a banana, of course absolutely ruined. I started taking pictures and the driver said we were not allowed to take photos, it was against company policy. (of course we're not stupid and we took plenty of photos that will be used in the litigation). When we finally did get all of our stuff off of the trailer and inspected, nearly every single item showed some damage!!! LUCKILY I had the forethought to purchase insurance through USAA. Be aware this company is a scam. I'm currently dealing with them. They came to pick up the stuff, the asked for more money. They asked to wire the money to a different name-company. We denied. They took our stuff and we received a random text message that they drop our stuff in Montana -it was supposed to go to Houston. No formal communication from their part about this. I moved from Las Vegas to Nashville and went with master movers based on the initial quote that was given which seemed reasonable. When I made a reservation with master movers, they required a deposit over the phone by debit card. My pickup was supposed to be for Sunday/Monday but I received a call Friday and the movers wanted to come that day however I was not prepared and we agreed on Saturday morning pickup. They come, and tell me my affordable quote will now be doubled based on "cubic feet" after my belongings were already on the truck which majority of the things were boxes and my mom was kind enough to give the mover my queen size bed, an area rug and a baby swing because as a single mom, I was so stressed with all they money they were asking for I decided to not take everything I had initially agreed to. I quickly had to rush to an atm at 7 in the morning to get out 60% of the price in cash. Once they came and picked up my belongings, it took two weeks just for the truck to be loaded AGAIN and leave California which if you look up the business address, it is a home and not to mention they lie about being bonded and insured. They do not respond to calls after your money is taken and if they do, the women who answers the phone, lacks customer service and is extremely rude. It took a total of 20 days for me to receive my things and once they came I had to pay them the remainder of the balance in cash, AGAIN. My son and I had nothing for that amount of time which was an extreme inconvenience. Ultimately, this company should be reported to the bbb which will be my next step. So, first of all I read the reviews after Master Moving had already picked up my belongings being shipped from California to Michigan. The items included things that could never be replaced. They were antiques belonging to my mom who recently passed away. So, I was a little blurry eyed when I hired them. Once I read the reviews I was absolutely broken and afraid I would never see my items again or if I did, it would be weeks or months or broken and destroyed. WELL.... I am here to say that THEY WERE AMAZING TO WORK WITH and am so happy. They called a few days after they left and set a time for delivery. They took 7 days and were nothing but kind, efficient, and professional. If you back your own boxes properly, they will take care of moving them carefully. As I recently moved from Nevada back to California. I was pretty skeptical being 76 years old, honestly I was a nervous wreck. I am listed master moving as a company to move me. And a couple days before my scheduled move I had called master, moving to let them know that I was not ready yet I had spoken to Ben to let him know that I was not ready yet Ben insured me that that was OK that I had nothing to worry about. We are here to help. The day of the move, Hunter and his crew showed up. Hunter was very nice. He walked me through the process and help me pack my items in a professional and respectful manner. I have a lot of sentimental value. The value of the items were not much. It was just a Connection between my husband and I. I'm truly grateful for Hunter and his crew who took care of my belongings. If I could give less than one star I would. I had an inheritance packed and shipped to me by Master Moving Inc. 3 pieces of antique glass were broken. I filed a claim with their insurance, Anthem Claim Management LLC. I just got a denial. The denial says that there was the Uniform Household Goods Bill of Lading was signed acknowledging shipment was received in good condition. The Master Moving rep wouldn't let me unpack the glass. He said he couldn't wait. He said if I signed & something was wrong contact Master. I did. They had me file claim. The 2nd reason for denial was no remarks on Descriptive Inventory List noting any loss or damage during transit. Master didn't provide a descriptive list, again not allowed to open boxes of glass with rep present. 3rd reason for denial was Carrier not liable for all items packed by owner. Master Moving was hired to pack & move. Letter ends with there will be no liability for alleged missing items where no evidence was presented whereby the item was tendered for transport and/or taken into custody by the carrier. Again, the carrier was hired to do all the packing and shipping. No items were missing just broken. Pictures were provided to Claim Management company. I wouldn't recommend them to move my stuff across the street. I had to move 2 dressers, a small corner desk, and about 8-10 storage boxes from CA to OH. First, I had to pay the deposit over the phone which I was fine with, but what they did not mention was that I would need to pay 70% of the remaining portion by cash or send it by zelle on the day of. They don't accept card and after this debacle I realized it's so the customer would have to debate going through the courts if they need to get a refund. They gave me an estimate of 10 days or so for delivery. That was fine. I would be able to guarantee to be back in OH by then. On the day of, they call me and say they will be in my area between 3 PM and 5 PM. Okay. I go there and wait until 5:30 without getting a phone call. When I call, I'm given 3 different phone numbers to try bc they don't talk to the dispatcher or individual drivers on their end. WTF???? They represented themselves as one company and even boasted that they don't outsource to a 3rd party for the moves like other companies. Then I call the dispatcher who places me on hold and tries to reach the driver who doesn't answer. Dispatcher then gives me the other two phone numbers that are for the drivers since she can't reach them and tells me I'll have to call them myself. They finally respond via text that they're running late (no s**t) and they don't know what time they'll be delivering. Then at 8 PM I get a call saying that they'll be delivering at 10 PM. And when I tell them that the hour is late and no one will be at the house they're delivering to, then they say that the earliest they will deliver the next day is 8 AM. Considering I had to take my daughter to school, we end up meeting them at 10 to get my stuff. On top of not properly unpacking the dresser or desk (they literally them wrapped in the blankets and plastic wrap) they then realize that one of the 2 dressers is missing. All they said was "oh, well, you'll have to talk to the rep on the phone. We only handle the moving." You lost one of 3 pieces, but that's not on you????? The cherry on top was that the dresser they lost was one that belonged to my great great grandmother that my mom restored before my mom passed away. Now I receive a letter from the claim company saying that they're only liable to pay $.60 per lb. So my dresser is only worth $66. They are s**t read more

Bait and switch. We measured all our belonging 3 times in CF (engineer and medical provider here) and they gave us a competitive quote. AFTER LOADING HALF of our belongings into the truck, they immediately stopped operations and determined the cost was going to be DOUBLE. They refused to complete the transfer until we gave them more money upfront! Desperate with our flight departing the next day, we decided to dispose of our largest items (i.e. $1200 mattress!) and proceeded to negotiate a new quote, still significantly higher than the original estimate. They also said they would arrive in 5-6 days, however, I put an AIRTAG in one of the boxes and saw my property sit in a warehouse just 1.5 hours from its destination another four additional days!!! When different subcontracted movers arrived (not the same folks that loaded the truck), items were damaged. I filed my claim with Anthems, and 3 months later, I haven't seen a penny. Worst move I have ever did. Booking the company was a breeze friendly and polite service. I packed everything myself all they had to do was put it in the truck, most of my items were in boxes. I was quoted one price over the phone after giving very detailed item descriptions accurate number of boxes then the movers charged me an extra 1500 dollars for more room in the truck. Skip to the delivery, majority of my boxes are damaged, missing a $300 appliance, call the warehouse was told the item is not there', one of my TVs were broken but since I packed myself i was told that I'm responsible (completely understand) when I filed a claim with their company was told that my claim was denied because the items was not listed on the inventory sheet. Mind you when they marked the inventory sheet they only wrote boxes not specifics. My appliance was in its original box so that was a lost. I am happy my valuable and property insurance did cover my items. Moral of the story DON'T waste your money on a move with them. This company turned out to be a nightmare. After I filled out the Binding Moving Estimate, nothing was added or changed before the pickup. I even sent four pictures of the items grouped together to make sure they knew what I had. When they picked up our stuff, the original quoted price was almost doubled and their only response was, "We will take it off the truck and leave." When it arrived in Kentucky, they were early. Usually, that would be fine, but we were still driving there. When I called dispatch to ask if we could have another day, he threatened to send it back to California, and then we wouldn't see it for 21 more days. He was the nastiest man I have ever dealt with in the service industry. The driver who ultimately delivered our stuff to a storage unit was an independent contractor. I specifically asked and ran MM 's UD DOT number to make sure they were a carrier and not using contractors. Suprise once again! I will never recommend this company to anyone! read more
